It's good to see you advocating reusable lighters. I see too many people who put together survival/preparedness kits and throw in a bunch of cheap lighters that don't work well, if at all. A good thing to do if you carry a zippo: get a small plastic squeeze dropper bottle with a cap that screws on and keep fluid in that instead of the lighter itself. Whenever you need a light, simply put a few drops of fuel on the wick and wait a few seconds before sparking it, and that will keep you from losing fuel to evaporation while it sits in the lighter. Or make yourself a trench lighter, since they're not too difficult to make at home and they have a more tightly sealed fuel chamber.
Many good points about the different types and uses. One thing to note is that in winter (Northern Canada) a butane lighter won't light when it gets too cold so its good to have a Zippo in the mix.
Yeah as I think I said in this video, in the UK it seems to be impossible to ever get a day even in winter cold enough so a butane won't light, so I imagine it really only is Canada, some US states, Norway, Finland, Siberia etc where you would actually have that sort of problem.
A little update: I just went off to research the arc lighter mentioned, couldn't find any under the "Forhu" brand name but could find them under the name "SX4"* for £10 on Ebay, just bought one :-) *Look identical and I assume they are. Thumbs up, very informative.
Where can I find Clipper lighters in the UK? I see people saying they're found everywhere, but I can't find them anywhere. I checked Tesco, Sainsbury's, Iceland, and various newsagents, etc. Most of them don't sell lighters at all. Only Tesco had any, and what they sell is a pack of generic "electric" butane lighters. They look similar to Bic ones.
I smoke a pipe and live in Canada a zippo pipe lighter works every time outside in the winter any butane won’t light here if it’s out of my pocket for more than 30 seconds
Just bought a zippo last night and was sat for a while deciding which style to buy for lighting my cigars. Is it a general thing that the brass ones are built better or how do you know which are the good ones. Is it worth cancelling my order and choosing a different zippo or going for something made more for cigars? I ordered one that was 'black ice with laser engraving'. Also, my uni has just cancelled our chem labs because 2 unnamed suppliers have been providing gauze for bunsen burners that contain asbestos. Not sure if you had heard but thought you might find it interesting.
@@Weaponsandstuff93 I went back and looked at my order on my pc and I got a better look and the design didn't look as nice as on my phone. I opted for the high polish brass of the armour series as things tend to get bumped fairly badly in my pocket when I am at home on the farm and hope that the thicker walls will prevent dents. And it looks nicer than the normal high polish brass as it doesn't have 'solid brass'written across it.
I like the jet lighter & the electric lighter but I don't like the other lighter because they are cheap & economics products to buy 1 if they were high quality
IMCO is better than Zippo in the case of frequent-smoking situation, really. That's what my granddad used in early 50s. And Clipper ones - it seems that's one of the older model - suits quite well for the pipe smokers too.

Yeah that's a good idea.
Nice to see that you are making more lighter videos
Your videos are informative and interesting and your style is nicely laidback but also professional. Earned a sub mate.
Cheers
Blowing the lighter out wastes the wick.
Clippers are one of my favourites cos they fit perfectly into a used shotgun shell and it looks pretty cool
Cool
Some of the designs for zippo ligbters are beautiful
For survival i think Zippo is good because you could refill it with regular petrol

god forbid you leave a bic in the car overnight
For general use like camping, hunting, cigarettes, maybe survival situations? I think Zippos are pretty nice.
Zippos are pretty classic.
I have firestarters and lighters with emergency flair shooting sticks.
What kind
Some time ago you had a video on those clipper lighters. I have bought four since. Those are great lighters!
Yeah clippers are great for how cheap they are.
I like collecting lighters even tho i never smoked. I guess i find them cool for some reason :)
6:50 clipper has these kind too. even has the red flame and the adjustability
edit: and theyre round too like the standard ones with removable flints
7:45 didn't know that, I think I killed my jet lighter doing that lol

My favorite is the zippo lighter

Blows out a zippo* this is windproof
Or get all of them and you're good to go!
Yeah always that.
Do how to dress like pyro from tf2
(Similar to your snork video)
Pyros mask isn't real sadly.
Weaponsandstuff93 true that
Nice ligthers 👍

Brass zippos are generally just built to a higher standard than regular zippos but all zippos are nice.

U got an assault lighter licence?
Good stuff.
Cheers

Or just get all types.
My favourite type of lighter is a match
Regular matches or strike anywhere matches?

Yeah I personally prefer IMCO lighters, a real shame they went bust.
I don't smoke though!
SlingshotWarrrior starts smoking
Haha, no I don't smoke lighters are good for fire starting.
@@1ax LOL😄😄😄
Why does he look like Tyler1
i have a box (50) full of brand new imcos
As in Chinese copies?
Weaponsandstuff93 haha no original made in vienna. I think from the 80s?
Interesting, so did an entire box get sold then?
Weaponsandstuff93 my grandfather sold them back then. my whole basement is full off brand new stuff from the 80s
I need lighters for cigs
I smoke cigars and pipes so I’m going to buy a lighter with both jet and soft flames
The clipper jet lighter when set to low turns into a normal flame if I remember right but on full it's a higher pressure jet.
Do you smoke cigars often ?
Weaponsandstuff93 thats awesome i want one lol
Zippo
.... Reality is you use what you have immediately available. Interesting though.
