- To get even further away from the crowds and big city life, we decided to move to a farm house in the middle of nowhere for a week! Being more than an hour away from the closest grocery store, we had to bring everything we needed for an entire week! Luckily, this working farm had plenty of fresh vegetables we could pick and eat straight from the ground!

What country is more beautiful the Netherlands or Sri Lanka?
Of course Sri Lanka. Here in netherlands you can see most ancient buildings but you don’t see any natural things. This is just a flat land and you see everything which has been man made. But sri lanka, what a natural beauty. You have to visit sri lanka, then you will love that country. Trust me. Everything including food, hospitality, nature, kind hearted people. I love my country.

Great video, would be nice if can reduce the consumption of plastic grocery bags . I think in all the supermarkets have their own resistable bags and it's 4 times bigger than a plastic bag. Just a thought.
In the California, USA all stores now charge you ten to 15 cents per plastic bag or give you paper bags, it’s encouraging many people to carry their own reusable bags to the store when they shop now. We keep them in the car ready to go and I have one that rolls up very small for traveling and it can hold up to 35 pounds! I visited Washington and Oregon states and also North Carolina and they are also charging for disposable bags so I think all of the US is now doing this. 🤗🇺🇸👍🏼

Johnny if you like EGB ginger beer in Sri Lanka try Goya ginger beer readily available in the USA. Compare the two. The Sri Lanka EGB tastes milder and Goya brand is full of strong ginger taste. Hope you’ll like it too.
You are wrong sam.Goya is milder an sweeter too.but EGB gives real ginger taste.exellent drink after a heavy spicy meal.

In Hawaii, (Kauai) yes, we try to book the same farm stay every time we go, since we circle around with other islands, it is like every 4 years or so! We work, grow and harvest food like you did.

All that food for only $100USD is so inexpensive! Wow! In the U.S, we’d pay $100+ for just 1 avocado! I worked with a Sri Lankan man for several years in the US at Occidental Petroleum Corporation. His name up was so long, we just called him Wick. That was in the 1980’s and I still remember what a good friend he was and a smart petroleum engineer, too! He always had a smile on his face. ❤️

Very interesting. They found so much vegetables free. I don't know why farmers abandoned that harvest.
I'm a farmer from nuwara eliya. Current price as of 17th March 2021 is RS.130/= per kilogram for the good looking once.
Good looking once are called no1 carrot which is sold for 130/=
No2 carrot which are the small once 40/= per kg
And no3 carrot which are damaged carrots which has a crack in it. You can see @27:00 the one which Johnny takes a bite are sold for 20/= . Farmers mostly tend to use the no1 and no2 as compost due to covid19 markets are closed. During normal times they end up in manning market peliyagoda or dambulla market sold to farms as feeds for poultry etc. Reason for the damaged carrot is late harvest and irregular watering. Small once due to bad weather. And carrots that split into two because of bad soil with rocks and hard surface, so carrots split in search of water for survival. Hope this helps you.
*The price I mentioned above are the harvested rate from the farm.
