Didn’t get a chance to say thank you to you and Chad. (Sometimes work gets in the way) Great live stream and I appreciate the time and sharing of information. Danke. Shawn.
Great interview Michael (Chad & AP is the absolute best)...my wife is a third generation German-American and she too is an excellent secret keeper! I am over the moon for the STP reissues...wow and from analogue sources, could not be more excited!
Are The Bee Gees with Atlantic? I know some of their albums were released under AVCO, but I have no idea who holds the rights in the current day. Their catalog of music is so rich, dynamic and layered production-wise, from their early baroque pop years to the disco days. They REALLY deserve true audiophile 45 RPM reissues and I am surprised they haven’t been done yet. Soooooo many classic songs in their catalog. EDIT: I commented this before finishing the whole stream and unfortunately Chad says they’re not with Atlantic. That’s a shame… hopefully someone does audiophile reissues of their catalog soon. Also that was QUITE a grin on Shad’s face when he was asked about The Who UHQRs! 😮
Jazz is so real, and I think people enjoy that music for that reason. The way they played is probably not going to happen again. I think that's what's so attractive with it. The step to releasing these newer mixed genre records is an amazing step. We all know that AP puts out the most consistent reissues, so this is going to be super fun!!! Congratulations to you all! Great achievement.
I know lots of people will complain about some of the titles, but honestly there are so many other unique titles that I don't understand some of the complaints. It'd be like going to the bakery to buy a cake and you get upset that they also make cookies. You get your cake right? I'm definitely picking up some of the Otis albums and definitely the INXS one. INXS Kick is an incredible album, but it's never been released with non-sibilant mastering. Hopefully this release will give that album it's just due.
I hope the STP albums do well so other Grunge titles get considered for the audiophile treatment. Almost all of those bands recorded to tape. Soundgarden would be amazing!
Yes: Close To The Edge… what silence between movements 2 and 3? I guess you mean the beautiful atmospheric sounds of cave water droplets. Makes me wonder if anyone really listened. I’m glad I have the Steven Wilson blu-ray and will eventually find an original release in great condition. They never should have broken this up.
Hi Michael, I finally understand your focus on OGs when I hear the news from Acoustic Sounds. Their Atlantic 45 cut program, in my opinion, is just a money grap and waste of resources for mostly - with some exceptions - rock and pop artists/titles which have not been so well recorded in the first place and continuously lost their popularity over the years. (AS must be desperate to get new licenses and load their pressing plant these days?). If at all, I would be buying some of these titles as near mint country of recording OGs which can easily be found at much lower prices with highly likely better sound due to tape freshness. If that was the long awaited BIG announcement of Mr. K. … then „the emporer has new clothes“ :-)
Great titles coming out! People need to realize Chad will reissue what he likes and what sounds good, he's said that from day 1. There's a lot of crappy compressed music out there that will sound horrible on vinyl, or the master is in bad shape. One day I'd love for AP to reissue Tracy Chapman's self-titled '88 album.
The diaper is full Chad. Awesome work. I have ordered Face Value, 3 CSN(Y) titles, and VU Loaded. Those were my fomo titles, sure I’ll grab several others as well. I’ll definitely grab some of the 90s titles too.
for those who don't like 45 rpm vinyl because you don't like getting up to change the sides so often i have a couple solutions suggestions 45 rpm sounds better in most cases solution #1 buy a quality reel to reel tape machine i got a TEAC refurbished from a guy in texas sounds great About$1000 4 years ago 3/34 ips and 7.5 ips if you can afford it 15 ips even better 7' and 10 ' reels tape the 45 rpm vinyl discs with little to no loss of fidelity at 7.5 and 15 ips unless you have golden ears ( prob a small ant of fidelity loss, but not much) #2 solution buy a quality vintage cassette deck; nakamichi, revox, pioneer, TEAC, technics, aiwa, others dbx nr also option once again tape 45 rpm discs 90 minute quality blank tapes Cr02 0r metal TDK , maxilla Fuji NOS vintage tape #3 buy a quality cd recorder record the vinyl 45 rpm discs on to CD it won't be pure analog but still sound quite good because it won't be compressed to death there you go you don't have to get up out of your seat so much and still darn good sound!
Chad said almost all of them will be AAA from the original master tape. The ones that aren't are because either a) the master was digital period or b) the original master can't be found, so they used a first gen copy of the master tape (still analog). Chad talks about this starting at about 23:00.
Michael - tell Chad that he should try to reissue some Calexico albums!! They put out phenomenal music in the ‘90s and early ‘00s that should be right up his alley, plus it sounds REALLY good.
@@chadkassem5881 also I know they're probably not popular enough but the recordings by the Jimmy Giuffre 3 with Jim Hall that he did on Atlantic which would sound unbelievable mastered by your guys and pressed at 45 RPM!!!
Is there a cap on the pressing "quantity" on these titles? I know the Genesis catalogue is for a limited time, but how many records are you pressing of each title?
I am a Ray Charles fan but the reissue I got from the recent Atlantic release on clear vinyl is not that great sounding. Hopefully, the AP version will be way better....
Thanks so much 🙏👍
Thanks!
Grateful to Chad for saving the world from bad sound. Please consider also saving ÆNIMA from vinyl oblivion. We believe you have Classic’s plates.

I am very excited about this slate of releases!
Hey Chad! Thank you for doing Matchbox 20 and Hootie! Please do them in the 1st year 🙏
Chad, thank you for the AAA 2 STP lps @ 45 rpm. It's great!!!
Unbelievable stuff, guys. Thank you so much! Keep them coming!
I got my subscription! Can’t wait for the first shipment in October. Going to be soooooo good!!!

Leonard Cohen UHQR please.
I would love to hear that. That's Columbia, though. How to get into the vault?
Siamese Dream UHQR would be epic....

Chad,
You keep driving me deeper into poverty!!!

On Foxtrot, Super’s Ready is 23 minutes long, how does that work with a 45RPM?

I’m going to need more Kallax shelves.

Michael, will CORE be on your store site for pre-order soon or do I need to order via AS?
Hope that the covers will be the has the originals with tick cardboard sleeve, not all of them supposed to be laminated like nursery crime
good point. but i think these Genesis are all laminated gatefold
Why don't they use Björn Engelmann cuts?
Very cool, news! Do we know if any of these use the Classic Records plates? For example CSN couch album, unreleased Deja Vu etc?
FWIW I would kill for the 50's RnB. Ruth Brown, Lavern Baker, Big Joe Turner. Those records are impossible to find clean.
Would love to see an AP reissue of Grateful Dead Veneta, Oregon 41:18
I wonder if Coldplay is the band Chad is talking about

Chad used to say this big project / announcement will keep him busy until retirement. Is this really the last one for Chad? or more surprises to come…
How about releasing Johnny Jenkins Ton Ton Macote??
It drives me nuts when Chad is interrupted 😅
A question I saw on facebook: if you pre order and you re #22. Are you getting each time the 22nd record pressed for that release?
No, it's impossible for them to coordinate the 22nd off the press
Sorry if this was answered already, but will the Atlantic 33 1/3 use the same mastering? Are they also AAA where possible?
Chad said almost all of them will be AAA from the original master tape. The ones that aren't are because either a) the master was digital period or b) the original master can't be found, so they used a first gen copy of the master tape (still analog). Chad talks about this starting at about 23:00.
@@ount252 I realize that. What I'm asking is if the 33rpm versions put out directly from Atlantic will be the same source/mastering.

Is the mastering on the Atlantic series that's pressed clear on 33 RPM the same mastering that acoustic sounds is using on their 45s
No, We do not know who is doing this

Are the genesis albums the Nick Drake mixes or the original mixes?
Original
Olé Coltrane - mono or stereo?
stereo
Do we know yet if the David Crosby If I Could Only Remember My Name is included in the 75?
It is. The entire catalogue is available on their website
@@christopher.cordova ah, thanks. I need to look at the list again. It wasn't complete last I checked.
