Presentation of Sam Records' release of Mal Waldron "Rat Now... Paris 70".
I also interview Fred Thomas about the release (and two upcoming Sam-releases).
"Rat Now" has never been released before and are for sale from November 2024.

According to the Encyclopedia of Jazz, Waldron was born 16 August 1926 and was originally an alto saxophonist; switched to piano and worked around NY with the groups of Big Nick Nicholas, Ike Quebec '49-'53. In April '57 he started as accompanist to Billie Holiday, touring France and Italy November '58 and London February '59. His favorites, circa '60, were Bud Powell, Monk and Herbie Nichols. You've got a great channel.

Hello, I’m a french fan of your UA-cam channel. For your informations, Christian Vander is a famous french musician. He is the co-founder of MAGMA, a prog rock and jazz band. He is the drummer but plays piano as well
