Splatink all entities that have radar emit radar, also if it’s made of metal than we typically know when metal in the sky typically equals aircraft, not clouds
The Looinrims right but if we supposedly technologically inferior beings can build aircraft with radar signatures so small they’re undetectable, why can’t these supposed aliens?
TheJacobShapiro perhaps an alien civilization did not evolve into radar tech and thus do not have radar countermeasures Future edit: shape is also very important for radar detections, flat surfaces like the rogue river incident would grab a radar’s attention

@Liver Success tbh that doesn’t seem super plausible after reading an explanation about it, it seems that it wouldn’t really be possible for the “people in white suits” aka the alleged students to just disappear before the other officer got there. Of the 2 explanations that don’t involve extra terrestrials the one seems more plausible is that town officials including Zamora faked it to try and drum up tourist attraction to Socorro. In my opinion I’m not sure I believe either of the other options, the first doesn’t seem physically impossible. And the other seems very unlikely. Not necessarily to say that it being extraterrestrial is any more plausible, but the student prank seems incredibly unlikely boardering on impossible.
@Liver Success What contradicts the prank claims the most would also be physical evidence just like the alien claim. If the object was placed by some university student, first they need to make it able to fly and fly away just like what the officers and witnesses had saw, and then the 2 individuals on scene should leave there without trace as no additional footprints were found to prove that someone didn’t just fly away with the object. And if uni student did this there must be traces, they should purchase the materials, filling up reports to build such object on campus, leaving photos, blueprints, rumors, eye witnesses on campus (seeing the students pulling out the object from the parking lot etc), and most importantly anyone involved themselves and the object itself. They’re university students, not KGB, it wouldn’t be easy to just erase all the photos and documents without trace and making everyone in the group kept this secret for decades without boasting it in a local bar or such.

Keneth Arnold never described them as "flying saucers". He described them as half moons, or delta shaped, but their movement was like a saucer bouncing in the water. It was the press who misunderstood it, and popularized the term.
Hey, they have different models for different purposes. Like we have sedans and wagons for the family, a hunter and fisherman gets a truck, a semi hauls freight, a muscle car is a chick magnet. Like that.
Exactly. Which is where Carl Jung's collective unconscious essay on Flying Saucers comes into play. People see what they are expecting to see and have been told to see. All Arnold said was that it skipped like a saucer (but was crescent shaped!) and it was taken out of context and the press headline writers gave us the term 'flying saucer' so then that's what people reported seeing (and what they hoaxed images of.) That's always my best go-to response when someone starts talking about UFOs (which do exist of course--we just aren't close enough to them to see what they actually are at the time, drones, mylar balloons, space junk, etc.)
@@anastasiabeaverhausen8220 I believe the majority of UFO sightings are explainable. However, Project Blue Book was a bad joke. One of the BS excuses they used in trying to dismiss UFO sightings was the term "Swamp Gas" .There was gas alright, the gas blowing out of the idiots in charge of Project Blue Books collective rectum. There have been UFO's that were space craft from who knows where. The sightings of the Tic Tac's by Air Force Pilots in 2005 are an example of UFOs that ignore our known Laws of Physics. accelerate away at incredible speed, and perform maneuvers that known aircraft cannot are typical of actual vehicles that cannot be of this earth.
I've also wondered why there are no high quality photos until two of my friends started wildlife photography and I've seen their pictures of bears and wolves. "If you look really close here you can see..." That picture of a bear can just as likely be a cat or Bigfoot...
Yeah, that's why I only do portrait or landscape photography. People who *want* to pose, and things like buildings do not move. Otherwise I can't get my cat to stay still for me. I know what you mean by 'believing in aliens', but I think that it's kinda ignorant not to believe in aliens. If you mean that aliens have visited Earth, yeah, I agree with you on that. But there has to be more life out there other than ourselves. There is a much smaller chance that we are the only intelligent, sentient life out in the universe than there is of other beings from other worlds existing. It's just making contact with those other beings that is difficult.
In all UFO cases, the Zamora tic tac case will always be my favourite because of how logical and unargumentable the story was. But I thought that Zamora's UFO and the declassified three Pentagon videos might be related since they both are white tic tacs flying at an intense speed. That might be a great plot to the whole UFO series.
But why does the Zamora tic-tac have a rocket propulsion while the pentagon videos one didn't seem to have one. not to mention that ufo seemed to travel using antigravity.
@@HermitKing731 If we assume it's not the ayy lmaos but rather some classified experimental aircraft, it's plausible that the technology has just evolved over time to not require any conventional means of propulsion. Did you see the Nimitz TicTac takeoff? Maybe they do takeoff with a blue flame but in the Zamora case they talk about how it starts moving and flying without a sound without a visual propulsion… The description of the oblong white egg from the Zamora case is similar to the modern classification and lingo of the post 2004 Nimitz tic tac indecent

I worked with a guy once who told me that in the 1950s his father, about 12 years old at the time, stuck a bingo chip to a window and took a photo of it. He then showed kids at school the picture of this "flying saucer". A couple of weeks later the RCMP paid him a visit and questioned him about it. He was so scared of getting in trouble that he did not them the truth.

In my opinion, the balance of probability is the most helpful guidepost when available data are not sufficient to support a conclusion. Is it more likely that Pentagon officials know that there are extraterrestrial UFOs and they're covering them up or that Pentagon officials also don't know what the unknown phenomena are and they're giving out wild guesses as answers because they don't want to look stupid?

My stepdad worked in Greenland during the cold war on an American DEW-line radar station on the icecap. He often tells me funny stories about things he experienced (we're from Denmark and he worked with a bunch of Americans) but there's one story he always goes full serious faced when he tells and I genuinely believe him now. One night during a night shift on the station he went outside for a smoke. After half a minute the sky lit up in a blink and he looked around to see what could have caused it. In the distance he saw a bright light that looked like a huge fire. He woke up his team(8-9 people) and brought them out to look at it as well. They all came to the conclusion that it was a crashed airplane so they rushed to their gear and trucks and drove out there to help. Their equipment started malfunctioning on the way and a snowstorm came out of nowhere and my stepdad whose job was the expert/master of heavy machinery and vehicles (sorry, not entire sure what the name of the position is in English) advised them to go back since a combination of the storm and the equipment malfunctioning could mean they would be stranded in their vehicles in the middle of the storm which could be very problematic. But they decided to keep going and when they had almost reached the source of the 'fire' the sky lit up in bright rainbow colored light and an object from the middle of the light in a shape of a boomerang shot into the sky and within seconds all light and 'fire' was completely gone. Upon completing a full search of the area, they didn't find anything at all. No indications of fire, no wreckage. Nothing had ever shown up on the radar. The very next day officials from the US air force arrived and asked everyone for their eyewitness accounts and then left just as quickly, never giving any information. First time I was told this story was during a trip out in the forest with my mom and stepdad, and we were telling scary stories so I for the longest time thought it was exaggerated to sound more scary or just made up completely. However a few years back now (2013) I helped my stepdad set up a Skype call with a bunch of his old mates from the station and while setting it up I had to talk to them and explain who I was etc. And after a while of talking with three of them in a call while waiting for the rest of them to show up, I hinted at the fact that I knew the story, but at the same time didn't want to ask directly incase my stepdad had been making it up and I didn't want to embarrass him or myself so I asked them if anything creepy had ever happened to them during their time there. They all turned fully serious the same way my stepdad always does and one of them went "It depends if you find a crashed plane taking off straight up into the sky within seconds creepy." He then continued telling the exact same story with input from the two others. I shivered then, and I'm shivering now just thinking about it. My stepdad doesn't like to say he believes it was aliens or anything like that, all he says that to this day he has absolutely no idea what it was. My stepdad is old-school, was in the army for like 12 years starting from when he was 16. I genuinely believe it happened. Sorry if I got any terminology wrong I barely know what some of these things are called in my own language.
Another commenter said that the original sightings that coined the term "flying saucers" were more accurately described as half moons. That would match up with your stepdad's story. Sure, probably not aliens. But it would make even more sense if the air force came out to investigate if it wasn't. Perhaps they were testing something, and had to cut it short because they knew someone was coming. It really is hard to know.
Imagine if an advanced alien civilization who figured out interstellar travel and stuff has just been sending weird balloons to earth for hundreds of years just to confuse the hell out of us
I remember hearing about the Zamora incident a few years back on blameitonjorge's channel. While there are many head scratchers about the case the most interesting bit of information came from one of the people who were a part of project blue book. He noted that usually when a sighting like this happens the military would always seem to jokingly downplay it. For that particular case things were different. There was a far more serious and somber attitude about it. Almost as if whatever happened they knew it wasn't from them and that genuinely spooked them. And the final thing I wanted to touch on. Yeah a lot of things can be faked now but any IT or video editor knows how to check raw footage data to be able to tell if any digital manipulation has occurred. Yeah it wouldn't prove it beyond a reasonable doubt, but it would prove if something was captured in camera or not.
To address your second paragraph, the Corridor Crew made a UFO video that completely fooled r/UFOs. If someone wants to fake a UFO video without a trace, it's possible given enough skill and eggort.
@@squeaksquawk4255While you can't definitively disprove an in camera effect, you can go through the metadata to see if any digital manipulation has taken place. Censorship aside, many of the so-called adult movies I came across from several Japanese studios seem at the best made by newbie camera and lighting operators (in contrast to its respective covers, that are frequently flattering). Remarkably, the lighting is frequently odd… As though some amateur people went to a hooker or an one-time courtesan, filmed the deed and decided to sell the recordings to a studio in order not to lose the money spent in paying the girl.

In 1990 my mother and I saw something very similar on the North Yorkshire moors between Whitby and Goathland (patterns and looping) to 11:50 There were two lights (in the dark- it was at night) far away looping each other in the sky, circling then they both whizzed off over the horizon in seconds. This occurrence was only a mile or so away from RAF Fylingdales therefore it was, presumably, something to do with them; or it was something involved or linked to them. It was incredible to see! Wonderful video btw LEMMiNO. Thanks

I died at "close encounters of the trick or treat kind". I'll just be haunting here until you get around ghosts. 👻 One of the major problems with a lot of these older cases is that the evidence is writing on paper. We can't evaluate the individuals because they're dead or their memories are old enough that there's a serious risk they've potentially internalized a belief in something they knowingly made up. We can read the testimony of those who recorded them and decided if the witnesses were being truthful, but we've since learned that no one has that intuition for truthfulness even though they feel certain they do - it's a survivorship bias. You believe you have that intuition until you catch someone you trusted in a lie that proves you don't and why try to catch them when you're convinced they're truthful? There are so many layers of questions on top of questions with these accounts that it makes them difficult, if not impossible to believe. But the largest problem I have with it is the patterns of sightings. They invariably come after one of two things happens - an event convinces people to look to the skies for weird things or reevaluate recent weird experience in the light of UFO thoughts; or a new technology comes out that just happens to be related to either the explanation or the way evidence was observed or recorded. Of the ones presented here, the only one that has enough credibility to be concerning is the 1952 lights over DC. But as a noted skeptic, Phillip Klass pointed out, such sightings sharply declined as the technology improved. I don't know how I feel about the thermal inversion explanation, it's not a phenomenon I understand well and it's obvious the Air Force wanted the public to calm down and stop flooding them with UFO sightings when they're focused on looking for Soviet sightings. That said, the lack of consistent sightings cuts both ways - just as it makes extra terrestrial explanations unlikely, it also makes weather an unlikely explanation because we'd have seen it often enough to have figured it out by now if it was just a common weather condition. The movements (including them lining up with radar) strongly suggest it was a mirage-like effect, but it needs a light source that was there those 2+ weeks and never again. Particularly since (not mentioned in the video) aircraft ABOVE the phenomenon were unable to visually confirm what others were seeing, which strongly points to optical phenomena. And, yes, radar is still optical even if it's outside the visual range. And that wavelength difference can be the difference between reflection of radar and refraction of visible light. SOMETHING happened then, but it doesn't really make sense for it to be just weather or ET.
You would feel differently about patterns of sightings if you had an actual in-depth knowledge of the topic. 'UFOs and the National Security State' by Richard Dolan vol 1&2 are the gold standard for credible sources. I don't mean this in a rude way but you don't seem informed beyond a surface level.
Back in high school me and my friends were driving around looking for something to do. We saw these lights up in the sky that were whipping around all crazy like. We started driving towards them and after about a half an hour we got to a rural crop dusting airport and it was literally a weather balloon tethered to the ground.
It took way too long to find this comment, yeah I went from "Neat, potentially interesting" to fully believing Zamora now, cause check this out. 1954: Convair XFY-1 Pogo 1955: Ryan X-1 1957: Short SC. 1 1960: Hawker P.1127 1964: Zamora incident. 1967: Harrier Jet's first flight. All the evidence recovered on site. A small capsule for 1-2 passangers. Mostly a cockpit with an engine. A powerful streamlined single-point engine design for vertical lifts. Sure sounds like an early modern-powerful attempt at a VTOL based on previous successes. Considering the Hawker literally already existed. Could be some of the report was exaggerated by Zamora, even unintentionally, and the design was intentionally weird as an attempt to make something faster than the Hawker, to leapfrog the future Harrier before it even existed. But prob didn't pan out.

I agree. After a while(short or long) you’ll start questioning yourself. You might even become afraid to go to that area, or be out at night alone. As a meteorologist I always laugh at the temperature inversion cop out. Inversions are a daily occurrence as you've stated, and RADAR ducting caused by inversions looks nothing like what is illustrated, it doesn't appear as a "dot". That said, inversions strong enough to cause radar ducting AREN'T that common and the inversion would also have to be at the correct height relative to the RADAR beam such that it would cause a reflection, which again wouldn't happen every day. I still don't buy it for a second tho.
@@jm8080ful It's not a matter of accuracy it's a matter of physics. RADAR technology is fundamentally the same then as it is now: beam goes out, return comes back. As the video mentions RADAR returns due to temperature inversions do not appear as dots on any band of radar. For that to happen an inversion would have to be a single point when they are by nature a synoptic scale feature.
Not if you're using EM waves. The Pulse Repetition Time could vary, and the Duty factor time the radar transmits compared to listening time. is often expressed in percent. It is calculated by multiplying PRF and pulse width OR by dividing pulse width with PRT.
I found this channel a few days ago - great content and really addictive - and also just a nod to the fantastic animation, graphics, transitions and script - top notch.
I'm not against the premise of aliens visiting Earth, but I am skeptical that a species capable of interstellar travel would ever accidentally be seen.
What if the aliens knew that this time period was the last time they could observe us before our technology reached a point where we could blow their cover really fast ?

Is our technology at that point yet? Presumably if these beings had the technological capability to travel light-years through space to visit earth then they would have the ability to camouflage themselves from our detection systems.
Also another thought. What if the aliens have developed better technology that allows for better observation. More high tech air crafts that trumps our own by thousands or millions of years. Something we're not able to comprehend.
The government in 1952 : alien don't exist and if you think they do you are crazy The government in 2023 : Soooooo, let me tell you about one or two things about Aliens
In case you're curious, I actually have an off-the-cuff explanation for the balloonists' observations. At the time, I don't believe that "ghost lights" were adequately understood. Considering the consistency between the balloon-adjacent observations and their location in a desert setting, I believe those can be explained. Apparently, when air layers of vastly differing densities meet, reflection and refraction can both occur. Since weather balloons are made of highly reflective materials, layers of air in vastly different densities could have acted as a mirror, reflecting the light reflected off the balloon back down to the ground. Since both the balloon and the air layers are in constant motion, the reflections would appear to behave erratically. If a detailed description of the craft were given, as in the example with the binoculars or the radar-confirmed sightings, then this explanation could be dismissed, but since the descriptions seem to be of the "lights in the sky" variety, this seems a reasonable explanation. Having observed ghost lights on two occasions, once in the famous location of Marfa, TX, and again in the red clay semi-desert of South Texas, I can confirm that they are very jarring, even to a scientist. They are still not well understood by most people, including those in academic fields, and people's personal experiences with them are rare, difficult to replicate, and disparate in their details. The only thing that ties them together is that they are always simply points of light or streaks of light. They are never objects with a definite shape or details, pointing to their origin as reflections of sources of light. I was actually lucky enough on one occasion to observe one of these lights approach me rapidly to what appeared to be a very close distance, with co-witnesses present. I was further lucky enough to have a partner willing to run toward the supposed object while I remained stationary in order to better understand the phenomenon (we're both scientists). While the "object" appeared stationary to me, my partner found the "object" to be unapproachable, seeming to recede as she approached it in the desert scrub. These types of encounters appear rare and usually occur at night, but they are sufficiently predictable to finally have an explainable cause, and are in fact, optical illusions. I'm still interested in other cases. The D.C. incident, in particular, is quite remarkable.
Yes, everything about these cases support an optical illusion. The fact that they´re next to reflective weather balloons, on a sunny day, indistinct, shiny, moving erratically, in a physics defying way, and completely silent, all indicate that it´s some sort of reflection.
Something that interests me when these things are covered under the umbrella of “alien sighting” is that all of these events seem to have strangely differing details; sometimes the craft is silent and fast - sometimes its loud and slow, sometimes it can be detected by radar - sometimes its undetectable… But none have a satisfying explanation - I’d love to one day know what these actually were, but somehow doubt we ever will know.
My completely non-scientific opinion is that these phenomena are projections of the collective human consciousness/imagination, sort of like in the novel The Sphere by Michael Crichton where the self-titled object makes the thoughts of the inhabitant a physical reality. The books that Jacques Valee have written bring up an interesting idea about most paranormal incidences being related and are a core part of the human experience The fact that "airships" similar to zeppelins/dirigibles were purportedly seen in late 19th century really make the phenomena intriguing beyond just the notion of mere space aliens It's an interesting thought, maybe we actually are the masters of our own destiny, belief/thought wise....just an interesting thought, like maybe all religions really ARE true, if you believe genuinely and hard enough, makes the recent idea of Postmodernism more legitimate in a way maybe
I feel like that police sighting could have been an experimental human made vehicle. Or ET got engine trouble and had to rely on some backup propulsion system.
Lmao exactly as id the military would confirm they have such aircraft?!? That’s why ufos will forever be a mystery a huge portion of them are military crafts
@@feyla4814 some of these things have been exhibiting similar incredible behavior since the 1960s. Why would the military invent a HUGE leap in tech back then and we still not see the light of day by today? This doesn't happen with anything else at all. Nukes were invented; used within a few years. Missiles, submarines, fighter jets, drones etc. All eventually got used and declassified within a matter of years. These UFOs supposedly exhibit extreme speed and physics breaking maneuverability since the 60s or earlier and we still haven't seen it. They apparently didn't use it in any war since then. Doesn't make sense.
These "UFOs" are not necessarily extra=terrestrial. They could be a hidden earth-centered highly advanced civilization. For obvious reasons, this civilization wants to avoid us.

Imagine having advanced enough technology to fly to other solar systems and visit other planets and being detected by 1952 radars
TheJacobShapiro perhaps an alien civilization did not evolve into radar tech and thus do not have radar countermeasures
Future edit: shape is also very important for radar detections, flat surfaces like the rogue river incident would grab a radar’s attention
I mean, they could have just not cared about being detected, right?
They probably wouldn't care? When your in a craft that can defy the laws of physics your probably not afraid of some primitives Anti-Air or radar.

Americans are so self centered
Keneth Arnold never described them as "flying saucers". He described them as half moons, or delta shaped, but their movement was like a saucer bouncing in the water. It was the press who misunderstood it, and popularized the term.
This explains a lot honestly
@@anastasiabeaverhausen8220
I believe the majority of UFO sightings are explainable. The sightings of the Tic Tac's by Air Force Pilots in 2005 are an example of UFOs that ignore our known Laws of Physics. accelerate away at incredible speed, and perform maneuvers that known aircraft cannot are typical of actual vehicles that cannot be of this earth.
that seems normal for the press to screw up a seemingly arbitrary description and blow it out of proportion

The actual answer is that the overwhelming majority of all areas of government are ignorant. It's also a lot more complicated than that.

@DANIEL BIN OMAR - i need the humour license where i can make it?
Was his job to operate the heavy machinery? Then he would be a Heavy Equipment operator I think.
Wow, interesting story. I wonder what if the boomerang-shaped object is visualized in the form of an image or 3d rendering

What if they truly are blobs of pixels from the Japanese adult film industry

One of the major problems with a lot of these older cases is that the evidence is writing on paper.

Sure sounds like an early modern-powerful attempt at a VTOL based on previous successes. Considering the Hawker literally already existed.

when i was young, i longed to witness ufos etc. but it strikes me now, how sad and difficult it must be for people that actually have. like for the cop around 23min in. to suddenly be faced with something unexplainable, it must make them feel so alone. i bet at least some witnesses are haunted by their experience for the rest of their lives. filled with so many questions and doubts, too afraid to tell anyone, or maybe just deciding that it's 'best' not to talk about it due to the way people respond to that kind of topic. heck, i believe in all sorts of crazy theories, but if someone told me they'd seen one, i don't think i'd believe them. and if i trusted them deeply, i would probably forever wonder if they were telling the truth, misinterpreted something about it, or were just lying to me. how strange that is....
I agree. After a while(short or long) you’ll start questioning yourself. You might even become afraid to go to that area, or be out at night alone. Me, I’d probably stop even looking up at the sky… all so that I can have some peace inside my mind.

two plausible explanations i want to believe:
1. aliens might actually exist, and they've already visited earth
2. the government's up to something

They visit earth like we see animals in their natural habitat, trying to be discreet as possible but still visible. The government tried to cover it up to prevent mass panic.
But that's just a joke :p
I never really felt the first probable. The problem is: why? If there is a life form capable of visiting far away planets, just to fly in strange patterns, can it be called intelligent?
no
Their 'Strange patterns' are highly likely to be more than just that. If they are, in fact, intelligent enough to visit far away planets.
The Zamora UFO is very reminiscent of the more recent tic tac UFO sighting.
The DC ufo incident happened in 1952, is it possible that such old radar tech aren't as accurate as current ones?
@@jm8080ful It's not a matter of accuracy it's a matter of physics. RADAR technology is fundamentally the same then as it is now: beam goes out, return comes back. As the video mentions RADAR returns due to temperature inversions do not appear as dots on any band of radar. For that to happen an inversion would have to be a single point when they are by nature a synoptic scale feature.
@@lawdpleasehelpmeno bro you copied all your info off Wikipedia. The inversions are as illustrated p.s stay mad
Not if you're using EM waves. The Pulse Repetition Time could vary, and the Duty factor time the radar transmits compared to listening time. is often expressed in percent. It is calculated by multiplying PRF and pulse width OR by dividing pulse width with PRT.

That’s just what an alien would want us to believe
Makes a lot of sense actually.
A lot like sprites and ball lightning
Thank you for the explanation, thats really neat. And yeah the DC incident is the one that continues to baffle.
To be fair, if they *were* alien sightings that doesn't mean each incident was the same group of aliens
My completely non-scientific opinion is that these phenomena are projections of the collective human consciousness/imagination, sort of like in the novel The Sphere by Michael Crichton where the self-titled object makes the thoughts of the inhabitant a physical reality. The books that Jacques Valee have written bring up an interesting idea about most paranormal incidences being related and are a core part of the human experience
The fact that "airships" similar to zeppelins/dirigibles were purportedly seen in late 19th century really make the phenomena intriguing beyond just the notion of mere space aliens
It's an interesting thought, maybe we actually are the masters of our own destiny, belief/thought wise....just an interesting thought, like maybe all religions really ARE true, if you believe genuinely and hard enough, makes the recent idea of Postmodernism more legitimate in a way maybe
