Amazing episode, one of the best ones for this season for sure! maybe the studio forget to animated it. But in manga, the zoltraak Fern shot in last episode was blocked by the clone. By repeat shotting zoltraak and be blocked. Last episode was all about convincing us that "humans are better" - so that we conveniently forgot that Frieren not only has one thousand years of experience more than anyone else, especially her apprentice, but that she usually fights her opponents by tricking them into making a mistake. She convinced Fern she could win - and then used her as a distraction, just strong enough to force her clone into using a spell Fern was not aware of but that left her in a weak position. Plan complete - just not the plan Fern or the others knew about. Her "fatal flaw" was something she was aware of - of course she would have trained around it. A convenient flaw to bait your opponents with and surprise them with magic they never even imagined a human-like could master. And she managed to have no witness - except Sense who was in the next room - when she displayed was she was really capable of. It may be the era of humans, but the remaining elves still have a one thousand years advantage. but I guess the characters are aware of it - it is a lesson for us, the audience.
them telling why Sense is there making the exam hard what about Frieren lols shes not supposed to be there either. Proctors couldve removed her after the 1st exam knowing shes a Great Mage but no they let Frieren roam around lols.
03:34 I mean, If you can't atleast put up a fight againts the others first class mage or feared to fight them, then how can you worthy enough to become and call yourself a first class mage🤔? This isn't a training arc to improve yourself. It's the exam to see that you're worthy enough to become the top mage or not. So who saying that it's unfair to fight Sense is basically proved that those people are not ready.
what happened to fern at the end where she got pushed is actually insane, fern mentioned that she couldnt detect that attack as a spell, meaning frieren at full power can use spells so proficiently that even professional first grade mages cant detect
My favorite thing about the "height of magic" scene was that, because the clones fight like the real deal, the implication is that the *real* Frieren would also continue fighting to the bitter end even with *two arms down*. To me that's just as badass as her going all Carrie and shit.
Literally definition of if "Looks could kill". I also think why the stare was kinda uhm you know attractive is the hair down and her bangs/fringes covering her big forehead. Making her look more mature than usual and simply enhancing that death stare to be so impactful the first time you see it.
at the start of the exam we learn right away that ubel failed the 1st class exam because she killed the instructor, and here we learn that she cut him half without meaning to. she saw a cloak stacked with defense, and unlike everyone else who unconsciously gave up, she saw something that can be cut. the cloak is cloth which can be cut, doesnt matter if it has defensive magic all over it. just like replica sense. it has layered defense spells interwoven in the hair, but to ubel, hair can be cut so thats how she can bypass the defense and win despite being far weaker.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but does the "height of magic" Fern said about Frieren refers to her ability to push her hard on the wall just using her imagination/visualization?
Kinda, I think. Going out on a limb. I think it refers to Frieren and Frieren's clone using a spell which humanity would call a "curse" because its unfathomable and undetectable as a spell, but it still devastatingly defeated Fern. A powerful spell Frieren had deciphered and learned, but perhaps leaves her unaware of her surrounding when she uses it.
They are mages. They're supposed to have this kind of odds stacked against them. Good mages are supposed to plunge head first into this kind of risk. Learning magic is already about privying into nature's operations. That kind of knowledge is very unforgiving and mages are expected to overcome at least this kind of challenge. Chinese Xianxia novels would have regular mages going up against at least two opponents one power level higher, one bloodthirsty divine beast and at least one powerful curse in order to get ONE new enlightenment to breakthrough one major level (not to mention that as long as they reach a new mid-upper level, they WILL get struck by cosmic lightning which they have to endure to prove themselves worthy of the powers to nature) and they have to do it every major level (which comes in either 8 or 9). So yes, if you're going to learn magic, you're going to have to be willing to pay STEEP price.
Out of all the mages in the exam Fern is the only one to experience first hand some of the type of spells Frieren really knows. Frieren is a terrifying mage, I never want to see her angry lol
I loved this episode especially when they talked about the rock paper scissors analogy when it comes to power levels and different magic systems. Besides Frieren and Serie who are OP in their own right, showcasing Ubel against Sense clone is a perfect display of how some magic users are bad matchups against others. Sure, Ubel may be OP in certain applications but when she met Kraft, the elf earlier before the exams, she didn't exactly try to fight him cuz in her mind, she probably visualize that she can't win against an elf monk who's probably thousands of years old (and probably with an insane mana reserve based on his age alone). Maybe she could take him on but most likely she'll be seriously injured if she does so.
episode 26 started after fern tried to land her first sneak attack (end of ep 25) but clone frieren blocked it. At that moment fern couldnt find the right opening yet. thats what i think atleast.
I'm glad I'm not the only one confused about how they start this episode haha. I already knew what happened from the manga, but I wish they picked it up from the last episode and showed Frieren's doppelganger blocking Fern's surprise attack. The discontinuity was a bit weird for me.
17:45 fern will be dead if frieren wasn't there. just like frieren said, if they all entered that room and fight frieren clone then they can have a high chance of defeating it but there will be casualties for sure and they wouldn't be able to use their escape golem or even have the chance to. just look at fern pressing against the wall by the frieren clone and couldn't move at all. I doubt she can have the chance to break that bottle if frieren wasn't there. even if she did I also doubt that that golem can save fern. I think frieren clone can destroy that golem either way.

I think fern and Frieren would have been fine escaping by breaking the bottles, we see from Sense's clone letting everybody get away that if the original doesn't like to kill people, then the clone won't go for it either. The clones highest priority is protecting the monster that made them, and anything beyond that is likely up to the personalities of the person being copied
Nooo why destroy the Spigel! It is CLEARLY not a monster but a security system. Sole old lost arcane technology. I am surprised Frieren blew it up instatnly. I would expect her at least to move it out of the circle see if it powers down then blow it up if that fails to help the others.
that bottle being able to handle freiren depends on one thing. Can "the mage who created those golems" overwhelmingly overpower Freiren? If not then No. As the golems are created by "the mage" and they are also just prototypes, aka not in their final stages. If "the mage" themselves struggles against freiren, then the bottles definitely wouldn't have worked against her.
Sense gonna get scolding from her boss. From a proctor reputed to have zero passing rate to suddenly passing a batch of newly minted First Class because she is confident of her rules (Some of them are honestly undeserving). If Frieren didn't participate, I imagine only Methode and Ubel will pass.
We don't know how the glass golem would fair against frieren. The person who told you the Golem wouldn't last a second against her doesn't know what they are talking about. We have no basis to assume what would happened if Frieren tried to kill the Golem. What we know is that the golem has the capability to repell magic.

The comment section can be quite antagonizing sometimes and maybe people come here to blow off some steam. It's safe to assume that we both enjoy the show, the manga and this chanel, so don't take what I'm about to say as confrontational. My thought process here was quite simple, chapter 85 page 11, the small Golem gets easily destroyed. Characters with similar knowledge are capable of such a feat, Frieren being one of them. I think we can find common ground by accepting that the forces involved in that conflict are comparable to some degree. This has nothing to do with power levels, curses, Serie's predictions, or even Lernen's chance of victory against Frieren. It was a simple frame, thus a simple conclusion regarding the smaller Golems, and only the smaller Golems (not Lernen vs any demon/Frieren). @@ismaelm.mbaangue9147she was already showing her true power throughout the whole fight. What she did at the end was just her ultimate spell, but it leaves her full of openings for attacks. She said that the last time she was FORCED to use that spell, her "ultimate spell", was 80 years ago.. implying that it happened during her fight against the demon king
There are Epic Levels beyond 20 in D&D, I think.
Ferns weapon broke into pieces 😢😢😢
If you notice, Methode was looking down at the fern replica as if she had already restrained it.
I have a feeling she is nothing to play with
I am in awe. Words fail to express how amazing this episode is. From the very first moment, episode 26 gives us nonstop epic combat with the animation quality you'd expect from a Ghibli film. Madhouse's animation staff deserves the highest accolades.
The way everyone split up to tackle enemies they were strong against was a brilliant tactical move on their part. It was nice seeing all the mages come together like this and showcased their willingness to set aside their difference and work toward accomplishing a common goal.
Amazing episode, one of the best ones for this season for sure! Agree it's an actual joke that 9 episodes of JJK won best anime, not to mention Gojo (basically the MC during hidden inventory) won best supporting character 🤡. Anime awards go to popularity 9/10 times, and a lot of fans are just basic shonen watchers so can't be helped.
Definitely and the fact that they didn’t give anything to vinland saga says it all
JJK >>> Frieren. JJK
@gabrielvaldivia2811 meh I mean I enjoy JJK but for me it's just another shonen like the many I've seen before (naruto/hxh/bleach/kny/etc)
@@kevint4673 Please put a little bit of respect in the name of those legendaries series (Naruto and Hunter x hunter) are amazing writed series with way deeper storytelling than any other mentioned in your list and Most uncoming series if not all have been also inspired by Naruto or HxH including Frieren.
Maybe you watched them by UA-cam sources
According to what is Provided by Bleach or Jujutsu Kaisen both are mid-series IMO
So Frieren >> JJK in terms of design, animation quality and writting.
@@gabrielvaldivia2811 Vinland > Frieren> JJK
maybe the studio forget to animated it. But in manga, the zoltraak Fern shot in last episode was blocked by the clone. By repeat shotting zoltraak and be blocked. The clone will undertimated Fern and focus only Frieren, it also part of the plan
In the end, after lost and arms, the clone finally regconize Fern as priority target by aim the staff at her, but it's already too late
15:23 Check out the amount of collateral damage on the wall from Fern's clone fighting against Methode. Fern is a BEAST.
Yet methode destroy her 😊
I know how you’re feeling bro explaining stuff to my wife and her still not understanding the most simple shit… got me weak. Stay strong brother 🤣
Frieren gave her interstellar move: The Black Hole 😂
Frieren unleashed hair look is giving me sinister vibe man, don't t mess with her in that state
Nop, they just cut in the beginning of the episode how she blocked the attack with shields, but was for the sake of the episode pace.
And the Frieren replica took that personally.
All i can say to you guys dont underestimate methode that woman is can go crazy mode 😂
if of, if not THE coldest death stare in recent YEARS! 🥶
what a crazy episode
“I guess we’ll never know,” Kanye?? Is that you?
My favorite thing about the "height of magic" scene was that, because the clones fight like the real deal, the implication is that the *real* Frieren would also continue fighting to the bitter end even with *two arms down*. To me that's just as badass as her going all Carrie and shit.
Basically Ubel’s fight in a nutshell:
Richter: 🪨
Sense: 📄
Ubel: SCISSORS ✂️
Sense: F*UCK
Philly in the House !!!!! loved the video showin love as always ✌🏾
The way that JJK is going (and has been going) it will fall from grace very quickly.
Hopefully. Very mid anime. Average at its best.
Literally definition of if "Looks could kill". I also think why the stare was kinda uhm you know attractive is the hair down and her bangs/fringes covering her big forehead. Making her look more mature than usual and simply enhancing that death stare to be so impactful the first time you see it.
I think no one was expecting this episode to be this amazing. And about the exam, there is one more test.
at the start of the exam we learn right away that ubel failed the 1st class exam because she killed the instructor, and here we learn that she cut him half without meaning to. she saw a cloak stacked with defense, and unlike everyone else who unconsciously gave up, she saw something that can be cut. the cloak is cloth which can be cut, doesnt matter if it has defensive magic all over it. just like replica sense. it has layered defense spells interwoven in the hair, but to ubel, hair can be cut so thats how she can bypass the defense and win despite being far weaker.
The SHINRA TENSEI was amazing a total Baddass😻🔥
80 years, We’re all assuming the last time she used that was when Frieren n her party defeated the Demon king
Ubel: Nah I'd Win😅
Literally she is the Sukuna and Okkotsu of the show!
Frieren stated that her replica would not even give them the chance to use the escape golem.
OP boss, yup that's a dungeon boss for you.
Out of all the mages in the exam Fern is the only one to experience first hand some of the type of spells Frieren really knows. Frieren is a terrifying mage, I never want to see her angry lol
This is what happens when you give some of the best talent in the industry the time necessary to cook.
Hello! I did a short from this video. Where can I send it to you?
*13:37* I believe thats where ep 25 supposedly ended.
episode 26 started after fern tried to land her first sneak attack (end of ep 25) but clone frieren blocked it. At that moment fern couldnt find the right opening yet. thats what i think atleast.
So this is how it looks like if frieren going all out her magic😮
4 Things today im witness something.
1. now i know how our universe was createt, it was frierens planetary deistationspellxD
2. the architecture of this tomb was insanely done because 2 frierens fight inside oO
3. its the third time that wirbels mates would be carried xD
4. Übel just gojoed him xD
Wow a 20+ minutes video of Frieren let's gooo!
I think Frieren said it last ep that they wouldn't have a chance to use that battle if they get pinned by clone frieren
So the fact he cut the guy... was becasue she is clumsy :)
Crl award is just popularity contest
Frieren defeat every enemy and her replica no one cant defeat her
Meanwhile Mimic Chest goes Nom Nom 😂😂😂😂
Frieren had said in a previous episode that the golem from the bottle wouldn't save them from her replica.
No, I think she said that they wouldn't have time to use them.
@@CorporalCookieThey wouldn’t save them either IMO😂
@@ismaelm.mbaangue9147 Yeah, would agree with that too!
HEY MY FRIENDS JUST I WANTED TO KNOW IF IF U GUYS KNOW THAT AKIRA TORIYAMA PASSED AWAY.!
But did the glasses dude do anything in this exam ??
that bottle being able to handle freiren depends on one thing. Can "the mage who created those golems" overwhelmingly overpower Freiren? If not then No. As the golems are created by "the mage" and they are also just prototypes, aka not in their final stages. If "the mage" themselves struggles against freiren, then the bottles definitely wouldn't have worked against her.
Fern is awesome but don’t underestimate Methode lol, she could probably body Fern
She actually did.
I hope we see how Frieren vs Demon King went in the anime coz I wanna see Freiren go crazy
Fern's first hit got blocked like the second one you saw.
The height of magic means He/she can use magic without using stuff
i need dark elf race in this anime
We don't know how the glass golem would fair against frieren. The person who told you the Golem wouldn't last a second against her doesn't know what they are talking about. We have no basis to assume what would happened if Frieren tried to kill the Golem. What we know is that the golem has the capability to repell magic.
it was a 1st class mage who made that golem , the strongest serie aprentice who still alive right now ... and i bet if frieren clones want to kill it , the clone can ... there is too much gap from 1st class mage to frieren ...
@@andyserizawa Serie herself said that Lernen has a chance of beating Frieren lol, how can you say the gap is too big when Serie thinks Lerner could win against Frieren
@@boboyo3140 serie never said that

@@boboyo3140 she just encourage him , because lerner is like serie , a warmonger but he lack of fighting chance because demon king is already dead and there is not enough war for now ... frieren power is still mystery , even for serie ... because she lack of feat until they killed demon king and we didnt know how that fight works because serie herself cant kill demon king
If frieren wasn’t there, fern is a 100% gonna die. She could not even move her hands, she will not be able to use the escape golem. And frieren did say the last episode that if all the exam taker were to ganged her replica they definitely win, but a lot of them are gonna die and doesn’t have the time to use the golem. The disrespect for Methode isnt necessary, you guys overestimate Fern a bit to much. And yeah JJK is not worthy for Anime of The Year, its overhyped
Your comment about the voting in crunchyroll and about fans that only watch action/hype anime, they sure are biased. For sure they really haven't watch that much anime yet.
if they all go without frieren they can finish the dungeon 😂 cause sense will be the strongest clone but ubel counter her hard
Hey guys, great reaction. I would like to respond to one of your questions (no spoilers), the glass Golem wouldn't last a second against Frieren.
What Glass Golem are you talking about? The golems created by Lernen? If it is, you're literally speaking out of your ass. We don't know about that at all. We saw that the golems are capable of repelling magic, there's no way of saying why it wouldn't repell Frieren's attacks. Frieren says that she didn't want other people going to fight her clone because they wouldn't have the time to use the Golem to escape, but she doesn't say anything about how the Golem would be useless or anything like that. You're just overhyping Frieren without knowing what would happen. And that's all I'm gonna say to avoid spoilers.
@@boboyo3140 That was a very insightful comment. Not going to try and convince you otherwise, based on your words it would be impossible. May the creator of Diagoldze help you versus Learnen's smaller Golems. Have a good one!
@@quoll5314 the creator of
Di Agolze, the same guy who defeated Frieren with no problems and forced her to stay in hiding for 6 CENTURIES? Lol okay. If you don't have a counter for macht's curse you're literally FUCKED, it doesn't matter how powerful you are, you're just gonna get transmuted. In a similar way, Grausam was able to neg diff frieren with his illusion magic and there was NOTHING she could do about it, but Heiter could since he's a priest and later on Himmel could since he relies mostly on instincts. Power levels in Frieren are not so simple as "this guy defeated you and I'm even stronger than this guy, so you have no shot against me at all" lol, this very episode is proof of that. Ubel can defeat Sense even though she can't defeat Denken, and Denken can't defeat Sense at ALL. Serie said Lerner may be able to DEFEAT Frieren in a 1v1, chapter 57 if you wanna read, so I'm gonna trust Serie's judgment here and say that Frieren wouldn't be able to "destroy the golems in less than a second" lol.
@@boboyo3140 Hey Lisa, I was surprised by your response. I read some of your other comments and they all seem to come from a place of anger. As a side note, I can't wait for that storyline to be adapted 😄.
FRIEREN vs golden MIMIC , 0 : 3 😅😂🤣😭
