@@embond007 i don't think she can. Tbh Fern is a liiiiitle bit overhyped. She is very strong, but not THE strongest human mage in this show. I think she can visualize she's supressing it.
@@embond007 She can’t see how big it is but rather she can see the fluctuations meaning she probably knows Serie is either hiding her true mana or altering it
But the problem is how that old mage measured frieren mana ? Sure he recognized that she is suppressing it but unless frieren releases it there is no way to find how powerful she is, i believe serie is more powerful but not to that extent tbh
Now explaining her "disappointment" comments (both to Frieren and to her human students). First people need to understand this: Serie ADORES POTENTIAL. If she sees potential in anyone, she IS GONNA want to see this potential reach their limits. Ok now here we go: 1) Frieren: the reason why Serie really is petty with Frieren is bc she thinks Frieren is a wasted potential. Frieren literally spent CENTURIES supressing her mana walking in the forest, doing....nothing basically, while the humans were evolving. In Serie's mind, magic is to be used in wars, to fight. In Flamme and Frieren's minds, magic can also be used to bring happiness and beauty to the world (the flower field for example). So for Serie, Frieren is like a genius child that is playing with toys, while they could be doing so much more. 2) Her human students. First i need to clarify: Serie loves each of her students. She is just capping when she is harsh. So, the reason Serie keeps calling them a "disappointment" (and part of the reason she didn't want humans to learn magic) is bc it's also a wasted potential. In what sense, you ask? Well, this is related to their lifetime. In Sense's mind (and she is not wrong in this one) humans CAN NEVER reach their true potential, bc they die too soon. But even so she STILL takes human mages as her students. It's like if you want a 95 years old person to become the greatest professional in their area, for example....you simply have no expectations this person will even reach great achievements. That's why she only takes TRUE talented people as her students. And i do think most people overlooked this: dude, Serie just said Lernen could possibly win against Frieren, like.....that's what i meant when i said she takes really talented people to teach. Also, for people complaining why she failed so many people: if she had passed all of them, she'd basically sending them to their death. They would be allowed in places only first-class mages could reach, and then, if they didn't have enough skills, they could die. So in the end she's doing what she thinks it's right.
Agree with almost everything you said except the last part. She didn’t pass them because they are not talented enough not because she cared about them. She didn’t know them enough to care. If she really cared she wouldn’t allow the first test to happen with alot of people dying there, she is not a bad person but she definitely is that kind lol
Lernen could potentially win against Frieren. His golems are annoying to deal with, and Frieren struggles with multiple opponents. Lernen is easily a match for any Greater Demon in terms of magic control/knowledge. That said.... I doubt he could actually beat her. While gifted enaugh to do so... Lernen isn't really a match for a serious Frieren, but she would never take him seriously since she would see right through him. Serie was purposely egging him on.
@@brunomarques7713 idk about lernen not being a match for a serious frieren. Serie literally says he may be able to win a fight against her, I'm sure she was taking into account "serious frieren" when she made that comment. Could he win? We will never know because that fight didn't end up happening, but frieren has said that she lost to 11 mages in the past with less mana than her, 6 of these mages were humans.. if there's a human mage of this era who could currently beat Frieren, that would be Lernen, the strongest of Serie's apprentices.
I believe she only implied Lernen could possibly beat Frieren if he lived longer and reached his true potential, which he'll never be able to do as a human.
For context Serie called Frieren talentless in relation to her age because Serie expects more for someone has lived more than a thousand years. (This is also why Frieren said that she isn't the mage Serie wishes her to be) Serie's capabilities are also way beyond what Frieren can do. Lernen, the old 1st-class mage was able to detect Frieren's real mana, compared it to Serie saying it's almost as big but what he fails to realize is that the mana Serie is projecting is also suppressed. This means that Frieren's full mana is only as big compared to Serie's suppressed mana. So yeah this granny Serie is op af
But the problem is how that old mage measured frieren mana ? Sure he recognized that she is suppressing it but unless frieren releases it there is no way to find how powerful she is, i believe serie is more powerful but not to that extent tbh

Based on context clues serie has full confidence that if lernen wanted to beat frieren in a fight he most likely would especially when you consider the fact that like flamme he was also a student of serie the problem is because he’s to humble among other things he can’t visualize himself fighting frieren and winning and sense in this world visualization is key for a mage’s desire to become reality he won’t be able to even if he tried
Do you remember bottled golems from 2nd exam? When Sense was distributing those, she said those golems were crafted by Lernen. Those golems could break walls Denken couldnt, can block Sense's attacks, can heal etc. There were like 18 test takers so he made that many golems that capable for the test and he wasnt even controlling them. That alone should show how much of a monster he is.
I can't imagine how big Serie's full mana is, so there's no way for me to perceive her fluctuations. I couldn't stand a chance to Fern if I was in the magical world.
It's like a master setting up an exclusive scholarship that's reserved for hard studying elite students to go to good universities, only to have this old student that somehow already got into and graduated from a top university to apply. The master asked, "I know you, you're not the study type, and you already went to college. Not sure why you're here. But I'll give you one last chance: are you going to study hard now" The student said "who cares about study. Not my favorite thing to do. YOLO". The master said, "Truly useless. You fail." The student said, "shrug. Who gives a monkey's ass about your lame scholarship in the first place." The master said "I still cannot believe some lazy student like you somehow got into Harvard." The student said "heh I had friends help. Friends? You know what that means?" You think she will get that scholarship? You think she should get that scholarship? No.
Not sure just speculation on my end but Himmel prob disliked magic before meeting Frieren since we can assume his family might have been killed by demons.
Theory#8769 this whole episode is about how Serie misses Flamme. You fail=your not Flamme. Your a disappointment because you had talent but your not Flamme. Your Flamme's student but your nothing like Flamme. Regret. The main theme of this anime.
No she didnt, stop assuming if it wasnt implied, yeah frieren is stronger than fern but when it becomes to innate talent, fern is out of her league, frieren ca not be able to see serie instability, even lernen is more talented than frieren but that compensate with her long liifespan, even frieren couldnt percieve flamme caliber instability and serie is doing it at the past practically atleast 10,000 years and shes litterally is the most skillfull mage ever existed but thats not to underestimate frieren, serie is just so good at supressing mana, that only fern was able to see it ever possibly
@@richcalaguan8307 Lol, Frieren sees the mana instability in Serie. Why else would Serie pass Fern when she didn't even see anything outstanding about her? It's because Frieren knew Serie is supressing her mana and that Fern will be able to see it that's why she's confident she will pass.
Yep thats what Lernen failed to see, lernen saw the fluctuation in Frieren's mana(which is crazy in its own right) and straight up assumed that her mana was equal to Serie. He failed to see fluctuations in serie's mana though, who is also suppressing. It doesn't just automatically mean that Frieren's full mana = serie's suppressed mana. Because lernen hasn't yet seen Freiren's full mana, he is only speculating that her unsupressed mana would be equal to what he is able to perceive in Serie(aka her suppressed mana). And while his deduction might be correct, there is a small chance that Freiren has more mana than he calculated. Offcourse it would still be wayyyyyyy less than what Serie has if she decides to unleash her full power, but it "might" be more than suppressed Serie. But yea, its still crazy lol
serie judge frieren abilities relative to a elf that has been training 1000+ years and she is below average in comparison, thats why she failed. it wouldnt make sense to judge a long life being abilities to a short lived standard

Minor minor spoiler Its kinda hinted but it will be made clear later on that ferns mana detection is actually greater then frierens thats why i dont think frieren can see it
@@koushiksarkar4226 spoiler She more then likely can't see it. Fern sensing ability is also greater then frierens stated in the arc when solitair started to analyse a barier frieren herself didn't sense anything but believed fern anyways so from what we know no frieren prob can't
I see it that Serie is disappointed at her students lifespan. To see Lernen be reaching, if not be similar to the demon king in detecting mana, only to realize that Lernen only has a few years left, it'd be truly disappointing. Imagine how many great students she has had to see die before her, maybe she wasn't so cynical at first, but over time, she developed misanthropy as a coping mechanism. I mean, she lies almost all the time, not understanding Flamme even though she tells Frieren what Flamme's dream was all the while remembering her very vividly. Saying that suppressing Mana is a waste of time even though she does it herself, she's probably the one who taught Flamme the technique. She shielded Sense from all responsibility by blaming Frieren Even apologized to Lernen for taking over his test The only person she most likely is truly disappointed to is Frieren. For 1000 years Frieren stayed in the cabin in the woods, doing almost nothing. She's only been active for 80 years, she only started collecting spells when Himmel complimented her spells. Serie is like the grandma with a 50 year old grandchild who did almost nothing in life and is just starting to open up a shop. Of course it's Frieren's life, she can live however she wants, but Serie doesn't have to be happy about it.
Actually yes she close on being goddess of the series her magic and mana is enough for demon king, unfortunately she is a madara of this series she loves fighting and she don't want a peace sh*t.

@@Oakland510The reason Serie cant visualize beating Demon King is because she cannot imagine herself living in a peaceful world. Thats what Flamme said. Its not because demon king is stronger than her, but she doesnt want to live in a peace.
This episode really got me thinking because we have known about suppressing mana and what that entails but I wonder if for Serie it is the opposite, what if she is expanding her mana to make it seem like she has more than what she actually has, it would probably fluctuate due to mana being spread over an area greater than it's limit but then what if you were to do that for hundreds or thousands of years, it'd become natural just like suppressing. It's a crazy theory and probably not true, logically it'd make more sense if she were suppressing her mana and I wouldn't be surprised if Serie was the one to teach Flamme to suppress her mana but hey, sometimes crazy theories turn out to be true :D
Yup, Frieren's full mana = Serie's supressed mana😂 that's crazy

Yes for what Serie said he was at her level but he is just coward
Not necessarily on par, but put up a fight definitely imho
S-Rank museum a new anime
I can't imagine how big Serie's full mana is, so there's no way for me to perceive her fluctuations. I couldn't stand a chance to Fern if I was in the magical world.
relax with the glazing
It's like a master setting up an exclusive scholarship that's reserved for hard studying elite students to go to good universities, only to have this old student that somehow already got into and graduated from a top university to apply.
The master asked, "I know you, you're not the study type, and you already went to college. Not sure why you're here. But I'll give you one last chance: are you going to study hard now"
The student said "who cares about study. Not my favorite thing to do. YOLO".
The master said, "Truly useless. You fail."
The student said, "shrug. Who gives a monkey's ass about your lame scholarship in the first place."
The master said "I still cannot believe some lazy student like you somehow got into Harvard."
The student said "heh I had friends help. Friends? You know what that means?"
You think she will get that scholarship? You think she should get that scholarship? No.
Not sure just speculation on my end but Himmel prob disliked magic before meeting Frieren since we can assume his family might have been killed by demons.
Denken, Wirbel, Land, Ubel and Methode hasnt been summoned yet, so there's a chance more than 1 person will pass, even though its slim
still can't believe there's only one more episode left 🥲
I'm about to order the light novels because I don't wanna wait 2 years for the next season 😂😅
you be more surprised about Land🤣
Its not only fern pass, u guys will know in the next episode guys
Killua The Elf
Theory#8769 this whole episode is about how Serie misses Flamme. You fail=your not Flamme. Your a disappointment because you had talent but your not Flamme. Your Flamme's student but your nothing like Flamme.
Regret. The main theme of this anime.
Excuse me for an urgent question but would it be possible for me to clip your video, translate into Japanese and upload it on UA-cam?
I think ubel will pass too and maybe denken
both should go through
Frieren saw serie’s fluctuating mana
Fern isn’t the only one who passed btw
People who can’t visualize are NPCs? Lmao. I can’t visualize things. Doesn’t make me an NPC 😂
It's something thats trending and ppl are talking about. I heard it on some podcast i listen to the other day. Look it up lol
They better let my boy Denken pass
They didn’t show everyone being evaluated so only Fern passed for now.
serie judge frieren abilities relative to a elf that has been training 1000+ years and she is below average in comparison, thats why she failed. it wouldnt make sense to judge a long life being abilities to a short lived standard
No bro frireren failed bcz of their different beliefs about magic
Yeah frieren is stronger than fern but when it becomes to innate talent, fern is out of her league, frieren ca not be able to see serie instability, even lernen is more talented than frieren but that compensate with her long liifespan, even frieren couldnt percieve flamme caliber instability and serie is doing it at the past practically atleast 10,000 years and shes litterally is the most skillfull mage ever existed but thats not to underestimate frieren, serie is just so good at supressing mana, that only fern was able to see it ever possibly
No bro she can see
Serie is disappointed in Frieren just like Vegeta is disappointed in Gohan. Both have tsundere traits too lol
Frieren hersef cannot detect the fluctuation in serie but she prob knows cuz of flamme
Minor minor spoiler
Its kinda hinted but it will be made clear later on that ferns mana detection is actually greater then frierens thats why i dont think frieren can see it
@@alexsjarifno frieren can see it
@@koushiksarkar4226 spoiler
She more then likely can't see it. First of all mages know when other mages can see their fluctiation as seen frieren when lernen saw her frieren knew that same with how serie sensed that fern could see it. Fern sensing ability is also greater then frierens stated in the arc when solitair started to analyse a barier frieren herself didn't sense anything but believed fern anyways so from what we know no frieren prob can't
if you want to watch new anime after frieren..go for Shangri LA Fromtier..that one is good
I see it that Serie is disappointed at her students lifespan.
She shielded Sense from all responsibility by blaming Frieren
Even apologized to Lernen for taking over his test
The only person she most likely is truly disappointed to is Frieren.
Me hoping for a movie with heroes party against demon king 😅
Could you please put out a community post about Breaking Bad? I subscribed for it, I'm sure a lot of people did
Wondering if serie can take on the demon king..
Actually yes she close on being goddess of the series her magic and mana is enough for demon king, unfortunately she is a madara of this series she loves fighting and she don't want a peace sh*t.
@@Oakland510 Imagine Goku just fight with toddlers and saying he's the best fighter. Who even in this series would give Serie a good fight ? No one, it's too easy for her to beat other mages.
@@Oakland510 You know Qual and Aura will lose easily right ? You're trolling with those 2. And how do you know she didnt fight the demon king ? How about she's been fighting all her life and she's only chilling for 1000 years, a mere 1000 years of an elf life ? You literally are trolling.
@@Oakland510 She can't beat the demon king doesn't mean she can't fight him. She can't beat him because she can't imagine bringing peace, not because she was afraid of him or anything. Get your context right and stop saying stuff that aren't implied anywhere by the author.
@@Oakland510The reason Serie cant visualize beating Demon King is because she cannot imagine herself living in a peaceful world. Thats what Flamme said. Its not because demon king is stronger than her, but she doesnt want to live in a peace.
They didnt show the green hair girl. prob her pass too.
Frieren lacks ambition that’s what serie dislikes about her …she wants Frieren to want power
Kilia VA are female
Spoiler, well it barely counts as a spoiler, the other mages that didn’t appear in the episode pass too
Serie is an asian parent.
