Yeah our rivers here do a lot of damage to the visibility. The dive you're seeing here is one of the better days, some days the visibility can get as lower than half a metre. The area of NZ I live in, Hawkes Bay, is one of the worst for silt as we have many huge rivers pumping it into the bay. Any amount of rain and the visibility is ruined. Can be fun at times though 'cause you really have to work to get your crays, especially when you can't see them.

put it this way we have been getting our limits in rock pools 2 meters deep ..the place is amazing and one side is always clean and flat. definitely spend some time there if you can!
