    L'angoisse totale :)
    En tout cas tu à l'air de maîtriser totalement la situation du debut à la fin...
    Classe man !

    Que dire de plus?
    Vidéo très bien filmée, dans une belle région, avec un très beau 4x4 piloté par un bon conducteur !!! Le mus quoi!!!!!
    De plus, contrairement à beaucoup de vidéos qui traînent sur UA-cam, tu n'as pas commis l'erreur d'y adjoindre une musique qui aurait masquée et étouffée le son du moteur ainsi que les bruits du 4x4 évoluant en sous bois!
    Un sans faute, bravo, et bonne continuation!

    One question B:
    Did you use in this video 235/85 with 30 mm spacers?
    Any rubbing in the wheelarches?
    Any pannel cuts needed?
    Any improvement to the steering range side to side?
    Thanks a lot. Good video as always.
    Cheers. David

    • @BaptistePitois
      @BaptistePitois  6 років тому

      Hi David.
      235/85r16 on sock rims without spacers.
      no rubbing at all. Then I went with steelies, 30mm offset, and there was some rubbing on front bumper & rear wheel archs.
      Cheers, Baptiste

      Thanks a lot mate. Awesome rig.
      I’m dealing between 235/85 and 265/75, with or without spacers depending on how it goes.
      Cheers. Thanks for the answer

    ñice! was this video traction control only? :)

  • @b33gft67
    @b33gft67 8 років тому

    Maybe this is a stupid question, but when you lock the transfer case in the D2 does the traction control still function normally? Love your videos!

    • @BaptistePitois
      @BaptistePitois  8 років тому +3

      I think yes, (my TC doesnt work actually because of an electrical problem. But you can make both of them work together, and it's a tank !

    • @b33gft67
      @b33gft67 8 років тому

      Thanks for the info! Really awesome to see you using the D2 how it was meant to be used! I miss my 99... I wish they had sold the TD5 in the US. So jealous of that engine!

    • @checa160
      @checa160 7 років тому

      B33GFT. If I'm not wrong, traction control and cdl don't work toghether due to a wire that indicates to ECU when cdl is activated. This happens when you activate cdl with the engine running. But if you activate the cdl with the engine off, you will "lie" to the ECU and it won't disconnect TC and you'll have everything on. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

    • @Arkus0007
      @Arkus0007 7 років тому

      TC and CDL work very well on my 2001 D2 V8 petrol (US spec) until you turn of the engine with CDL engaged. Then both ABS and TC are disabled until you switch off CDL and turn off the engine again.

    • @checa160
      @checa160 6 років тому

      Did I say this??? It’s the oposite way.
      They work perfectly together.
      You can use that cable I said to trick it so you always have traction control active even if you stall or stop engine and start it again with cdl engaged. M
      With cdl you’ll notice the TC works a lot less.
      And you can combine cdl, tc and also install lockers in the axles, being them manual full locking diff lockers or partially locking diff lockers.
      Everything will work fine together.
      Cheers

    Hello. Please tell me what is better Discovery 2 or Defender . I'm from Russia, and consider these two cars. Who is more reliable, more comfortable, who is better off-road ? Discovery 2 is the same as the Defender is simply more convenient or not ?
    If I love to travel, who would be better for these goals ?
    Diesel reliable Discovery td5 ? How much is the maintenance per year ?
    What is your fuel consumption on Discovery 2 ? Locking center differential enough, or you need to put the lock in the axles ?
    If you were given the choice between Defender and Discovery 2 what choice do ?
    If you take the car for travelling for 3-4 people , and travel will be the roads which car is better to take ? Whether it is convenient for rear passengers to go 1000 miles ?
    And the truth is that the body is entirely of aluminum or not ? Or maybe some parts are not aluminum and what ?
    Thanks for the reply and sorry for my English

    • @BaptistePitois
      @BaptistePitois  7 років тому

      Hi Plamya,
      I would say every thing depend of your budget. Defender is twice expensive as the disco 2.
      From stock, defender is better due to the high bumpers clearance, tires etc.
      But if you take a D2 and upgrade it as mine, it will be as good as a modified defender, everything depends of the terrain, driver...
      If you get a D2, invest in a CDL, it performs very well with the Electronic Traction Control and will be enough. Mine only has central diff lock in this video.
      TD5 is a good engine if you take care of it, 11L/100KM for road use with mud tires. Body is in alloy.

    • @plamyasvaroga7101
      @plamyasvaroga7101 7 років тому

      The budget is not important, I'll pick a used car. The question is who is more reliable , whose spare parts are cheaper.
      For travel which car is better suited. What is more reliable and will not fail at the right time.
      You have frosts are apparently behaves like a diesel in this weather ?
      And the fact that the Defender was produced until 2016 , and the Disco finished to release in 2004 , says probably that spare parts for the Disco are smaller and they are less common than on the Defender. Maybe even cheaper Defender and you can find them anywhere in the world. Know about the patency of the Disco just for the Camel Trophy, although there was and Defender. But for some reason the defender did until 2016,and the new disco are not as reliable and plastic everything and a lot of electronics. But that's when you start talking about SUVs full now only remember about the Defender,
      Mercedes-Benz G, Toyota Land Cruiser , our UAZ , but do not say why is it on Disco 2 .
      Why ? Maybe you have in Europe other conversations and opinions than we have. We have Disco is considered a full-fledged SUV, but it is less popular than the above listed cars. As in Russia, are considered cool these cars and they are more popular in conversations than Disco 2. Is it just us, or around the world ? Disco 2 underrated car from us or everywhere ?
      Sat back today in the Disco 2 . Little room for feet. I think if I buy it, will it be possible to move 20cm back seat, put the other to the rear passengers easier.

    • @checa160
      @checa160 7 років тому

      Hello. I think it depends on what you will do with it.
      As a stock car, defender is better off road initially(clearance, angles, tires...) and disco 2 is better on road and for long trips(confortable at 120-140 in highway with a lot less noise, vibration, etc than defender).
      Gear box ratio is longer as well in the disco 2(being the td5 or td4 in the defender if I'm mot wrong with this last one).
      In the other side, defender is bigger so it's got more space for people and goods, bit more unconfortable.

    • @checa160
      @checa160 7 років тому

      If you plan to do trips with a lot of onroad and soft "easy/medium" offroad, go for a disco 2, tune it up to 170-180 hp, EGR and middle exhaust out and enjoy.
      Bigger A/T tires would make it even easier.
      TC works awesome in this car.
      If you go on road and medium to harder offroad, go for a disco 2 and put snorkel(wading kit)+2" springs and shocks, "big tires" in rims with a bit of offset, bumpers, CDL, I mean, the normal 2nd step to tune up this car and enjoy it.

    • @checa160
      @checa160 7 років тому

      If you do full weight and people on road trips but you don't care being a bit more unconfortable(noise, etc..) and medium to harder off road or hard off road and you spend more time off road than on road(except for these trips with some on road), maybe you could go for a defender and "suffer" it onroad to ENJOY its benefits offroad.
