My biggest issue with the Trundle redesign is his size. All of Trundle's stories make pretty explicit mention of his size, or rather lack of for a Troll and a lot of his stories are about overcoming his smaller stature with intellect in order to take over X or Y tribe in a test of strength. Frost Trolls aren't unique, a troll king with a magic weapon isn't unique, a troll working for someone related to eldritch abomination isn't unique but what seperates Trundle from these other fantasy Troll kings is his size.
The thing is trundle is small compared to alot of the trolls even in lor all the not beatsticks are short while all the big beefy Stat stick 1s are like 4× the size of a house the only real issue I saw was that trundle doesn't look to different from the other troll other than his club they could have given him true ice armor or something that makes him stand out from the other troll cards
I don't fully believe that the thing around Riven's waist is a corset, but is more of a fitness belt type of thing that weightlifters use. This is because if Riven's lore it's explained that the runic weapon she has is an extremely heavy weapon. Even though she can wield the heavy blade, it would still take a toll on her body in how you'd swing a blade, whether it be overhead, side to side, etc. She wears that fitness belt (for lack of a better term) to reduce the stress on her lower back for carrying things in an upright position and prevents back hyperextension for overhead lifts (such as swinging her heavy sword). And later on, when she's in exile, she continues to wear it because she helps with heavy labor on farms for Ionian people, where she'd definitely would want to wear such a piece of equipment. Granted this is just me looking at it from a logical standpoint, some of the designs do look a bit off for it to be a fitness belt like I believe. For example, her base model in LoL does look extremely similar to that of a corset, buttons and all. However, in her LoR splash it looks more like a brace for her lower body. Additionally, in the Awaken cinematic it looks like a wrap placed around her lower body to keep her attached to the stand she was chained to. It doesn't help my case that most if not all of Rivem's skins in LoL have either completely gotten rid of the fitness belt, or replaced it with a small belt that would not even be considered as such. That's just my viewpoint on it and felt like sharing it. Keep up the awesome videos!
I think medieval corsets accomplished the things you have listed. The historical ones, not the weird, over the skin and super tight ones that the movies show. People wore stuff for reason, either practical or aesthetical.
I think a cool concept with Mordekaiser is that he can canonically have a different armour set and appearance for what he looks like in the death realm and what he looks like in Runeterra as they are different personifications of his armour based on when are where they were made. His armour in the death realm is likely his older armour that he envisaged compared to his new armour in Runeterra.
@@warcriminalyeswhat you said will be a good idea but I still think the blue one is kind of ugly because it looks like a brick but adding on the Regal attributes is good. Also I'll be fine if they changed his ghost energy into a somewhat dark greyish blue colour.
@madmank7881 I think blue makes sense. Green is the corrupted shit that Viego made. Blue? Is his death magic, that way you can differentiate his stuff from shadow isles weaklings.
I could see the robe for Kayn working better as a way to show maturity, if Riot were to ever further Kayn's character and take him from a cocky show-off to a Kayn who's a little wiser and has less need to prove himself (but they sadly won't since furthering his lore would mean having to choose between Kayn or Rhaast winning and there would be outrage if Riot killed off a champion that people have grown attached to)
kayn will never become mature, and thinking he will shows you really dont know what his character is about. kayn is so self absorbed hes able to resist the take-over of a darkin, something not a single other person has ever been able to do. him becoming shadow assassin takes it even further, his cockiness is proven right and he gets the power to prove it.
Yeah him being more clothed makes him look more important, with him being second to Zed and all that, shirtless is more carefree, which he is not so much. That said the robe is lame, they took out all the details from the belt and replaced him with pijamas.
@@jynxed66six54 I don't think "mature" is the right word here, he is cocky but you overestimate how much, Rhaast references a lot how he has doubts and he has a lot of respect for people like Zed and Shen. I'd argue his arrogance is more a facade than anything, both Kayle and Yi call him a scared child in the inside, to say that he can hold on Rhaast only because he is cocky is a disservice to his character, especially when his color story highlights it was his will to live that set him apart from others. Like every character he is not incapable of change, not when his themes revolve around transformation and clear indications he still suffers from a lot of trauma.
5:36 We think of a corset as a fashion accesory of oppresion nowadays but back in the day the normal working woman wore a corset kind of as a bra and backsupport in one, so I like the corset because it doesnt look like a fashionale corset like pilovians do it looks like a working corset
You pointed out 2 good things for Mordekaiser - the red and the leg armour, that show noxus. That's it, nothing else of the redesign was good, all the invincibility, that he practicaly oosed was lost, even his mace lost much of its threatheningness. Everything else from his armour was worsened, his new voicelines do not give the impression the ones in LOL do. Look at the other design options, that they looked at. While there were some worse designs, I have no clue how they got this when there were so many other better versions, that retained the things that made Many of the LOR redesign haters love Mordekaiser. (Sorry for the rant, but I needed to get this off my chest)
I agree with all of this except the voice part I think they ABSOLUTELY NAILED IT. Don't get me wrong I LOVE mordekaiser voice lines but in league he sounds more chill and monotone which has its perks but in LOR his voice is BOOMING WITH ANGER AND EMOTION like I love his level up voicelines "FIGHT FLEE IT WILL MAKE NOO DIFFERENCE" UGH chills, its not only angrier but also shows of other emotions like confusion in his reply to volibears "Take heed metal man, you speak to a true death maker" with "Death maker? You have nothing to threaten me with" id personally give his new voice a 13/10 while his old voice was a 10/10. his design on the other hand I agree with it just looks weak af, bro looks like xerath.
Thee voice lines definetly missed the mark hard. In League he sounds calm composed absolutely steadfast in his goals, like he knows his victory is inevitable no matter what. In LOR he sounds angry, impatient and short tempered which goes against his lore of literally faking his death and biding his time to comee back stronger. He has such an indominable spirit you couldnt phase him no matter what you did or say.
@@Tiltigo Not completely. The Void parasite may have devoured Kaisa's body, but it absorbed her memories and her humanity to an extent. This new form, this Kai'Sa, wears her face as a reminder that life is worth protecting even at the expense of their own kind.
@@anthonymorales9869It's pretty much shown that despite how she looks fully cloaked, she's still human and cares about people, others seem to just ignore that part of her lore.
About Janna ascended looking like Kayle is a fair criticism, but the problem lies in Kayle not looking as Kayle so much. Ever since her redesign removed her Armor in order to get the more generic suite ever she has lacked identity. It makes sense for them to be somewhat similar deity figures but that is all Kayle's LoL rework is that is a problem of Kayle design itself because we've seen her, Morgana and their mother look very similar yet still have their own identity. I pray for a VU for Kayle in lol to make her look more like her mom when she was just an aspect.
The problem with this design of Janna's transformation is that she uses a lot of gold pieces, yellow colors and few blue details and this is already Kayle's color scheme. This form should have more crystal pieces (like the original Staff), predominant blue (after all, she is the blue bird) and less yellow
@@Airwinsy9948 Kayle used to have red too in her colo scheme. They removed that in her rework. It's an interesting point but I think both can coexist using gold.
@@miguelsanchez825 Yes, the problem is both coexisting using gold, yellow and blue 💀 And Janna in this form looks too "divine", she looks like one of Kayle's followers
My biggest thing with the Annie we have in League is that she's wearing eye-shadow... like... dude, she's NINE YEARS OLD. What 9-year-old needs eye-shadow? The redesign is amazing and I wish we had it in League proper instead of the jumbled mess we currently have. Also fantastic that her eye colour is now Orange, to hint at the demon inside her, instead of Green which clashes with everything else. The redesign is way more cohesive, I love it.
I actually think the new lor trundle goes against his story. Hes kinda the runt of his tribe and was more reliant on his cunning than the brute strength of the average troll. Therefore the more scrawny look in league fits him better than his buff himbo lor look
God I know the arcane team would do her so well, make her a proper activist and a strong personality instead of just a "la dee da peace is good we should be friends :)" pop star
It would be amazing! Arcane has proven throughout the whole first season how well they deal with female characters, how they are not there to be sexualized or to be a porn parody, but to be human, to be woman who you can see in the strength of your mother, in the love of your girlfriend, in the admiration from your sister. They are not just sex dolls (looking at you, old Caitlyn version) but ACTUAL workers, ACTUAL fighters, ACTUAL creators. Imagine what they would do to Seraphine character? The debate of “she’s only a girly girl champion with no content!” could finally be finished and LoL could definitely use her development from Arcane to the game
Quinn, for me, was the reason I started LoR, while Nida and Morg are the reason I came back. I love their designs in LoR and Quinn's spanish voice in LoR, she sounds more gentle and calm, i would say even more confident.
i think that Kayn design may be less of a direct redesign and more of a story progression. While losing the eye does hinder this theory, the level of corruption and how it can be seen on even his more human arm and how he is clearly far more beastial in his mannerisms and those glowing eyes are 100% inhuman and Darkin inspired surely can make this easy to believe as a lore progression design
Couldn't have said it better myself for the Zilean, He has so much more grounding and definition in the story of runeterra than he used to with this design
For riven’s leather corset type thing. It’s more just like a cinch or even leather armor than anything like an actual corset. As someone who does costuming these waist binds are actually fairly comfortable and are good for keeping your back straight as long as you don’t wear them purposely super tight.
Honestly, I kinda just like how the LoR redesigns are less sexual. Like, they feel more practical and organic and ironically at least to me that’s sexier
I have the same opinion about LoR Kayn. I like the robe because it adds Ionia feeling to him more. (Having only baggy pants doesn't sell much.) But man I hope they keep the corrupted left eye. Or better, make the eye corruption messy and unclean like his arm/chest portion. That will push it to S tier easily.
Thanks for putting the music used in the description, it's so rare nowadays, and I was losing my sanity while looking for which music was at 14:28 (so Linne's theme)
An opinion from someone who loves Janna and has been a main for 9 years: They didn't keep anything from the original Janna, it's like they were two different characters, even her VA isn't the same, that's what I really hated. I loved that they put shurima elements on her, but I hated that she is using so many gold pieces, this makes her design less light and ethereal, and this is necessary for a wind concept, the crystal staff helped with this, it gave a feeling of lightness, in addition to being the most characteristic blue element in her design... and well, in the redesign she has very few blue elements, which was necessary because in lore she is called "The Blue Bird" (and Riot didn't add it in her bird form either)
They took Kaisa's skinsuit and realized that because she has normal human proportions, they could take things away to make her look monstrous but making this separate from her body, she looks more scary
I personally would boost Leblanc another tier just for how good her LoR voicelines are. Only downside is although I think how she plays as a card is cool and fine, I do agree it doesn't capture the deceit, guile and trickery angle as well as her League kit. Jax is one of the least humble characters I have seen in any media, I assume you meant to say something like 'frank' or 'earnest', that he doesn't put on airs of behave with any pretentiousness. I remember Quinn is in LoR because she has loads of really funny interactions, especially with Swain.
Great tierlist! exept morde, his league desing is beliavable, an actual suit of armor you could see existing in a fantasy world, New morde has proportions SO EXAGARATED, its goofy - his horns? HUGE, legs? - HUGE KNEE CAPS, etc etc, and its so open, morde is supossed to be a imprisoned soul in a suit of armor, but its so open in this new desing, looks like he is gonna move and his soul is gonna leak out, and altough i like his color changing to dissociate with the shadow isles, i think this is just not the blue that works for him, its close, but its still not quite it. the league version, is almost perfect, and i prefer it 10000x times more then this new lor one. (also the mace looks like CRAAAAAAP)
why is he comparing the LoR art to in-game models and not splash arts? Does he understand the difference between artwork and 3d models and the limitations involved in the translation? Half of these "reworks" are just good looking new splash arts of the same champ.
Imma be honest, janna second form and nidalee are so bad imo. Janna doesn't look like a spirit god, but a biblically accurate angel. And nidalee doesn't look like a wild shapeshifter, but a temple member druid.
To add on to your point about blue mord is that I like how it separates him from the the ruination because lore wise he had no part of that yet he looked like a war general for veigo
15:12 The Mordekaiser one looks like a deceptive good guy. Like, i can imagine him picking up a deer in the forest and help him get to the other side of the river and his helm deforms the eyes making a happy face like 😊 Edit: A noble giant type of man, maybe im just delulu
I am not a fan of Janna's redesign unless it comes with a hefty caveat that Janna is capable of shape-shifting by function of her (it?) not being human. I'll buy that she maybe changes shape based on the people and beliefs around her to be less foreign and frightening to the people she's trying to help. This could explain how she looked a certain way in Piltover and Zaun while now looking differently in a different place. But I don't think there's much sense in rewriting her to be Shuriman and changing her design to be Shuriman, period, if she's not even a human. You could keep both designs canon and validate everyone's impression and experience of her character that way.
I don´t think you should be comparing the Lor Splash to de League in game model, it will always be superior even with new champions, the in game models were made to be looked from the top, comparing to the Splash art would be more fair i think.
re: Rumble using Space-Ork logic While I like it in isolation, and it also makes Ziggs and Tristana make more sense...it destroys Heimer. Heimer is an esteemed professor of technological research, not only can his technology not run on ork magic, but other yordles can't as well or he would be studying it.
I main Kayn and I agree with pretty much all you said. I was a bit disappointed when I bought him in LoR when he came out. I could also take or leave the robe, I think the exposed chest works well, but add the more distortion from the LoR version. Also, KEEP THE RED GLOWING EYE! Morgana I'm also with you pretty much 100%, but honestly I do think she's one of the champs that benefits from a larger chest. I've kind of associated that with her and her caring nature since the redesign and it just feels a little off. Her face and clothing are sooo much better though in her lvl 1 As far as Nidalee goes, literally no words. It's beyond perfect.
i think mord design wise their trying to give the idea that hes not in his original armor but something made in the shadow isle by his cultists for him to posses which explains the more shadow isle color scheme and the different look. i also think on the morgana one the level 2 the whole idea is that she is using more of her power as an aspect so her form starts to look more like kayles because of that, their the twin aspect of justice the idea that their aspect form is mirrored just plays into that.
@@quentin7670 lor seems to be infuring that he does since hes split shadow isles noxus, plus deathgrasp cultist which is a cultist of his is specifically in shadow isles.

Great video and I agree with a lot of your tier list. As someone with more animator/gameplay design background though I have concerns with some of the redesign "concept art" and how much it would have to be changed for the character to both be animated and visually clear in an Esport game. I noticed you briefly brought up these thoughts with asol but in a future list like this I'd like to hear more about your thoughts on which designs would translate easily and which ones would need big concessions/adaptations. For example I had alarm bells going off with how I'd implement that Zilean concept although I may be overcomplicating it.
I love what they did with A Sol's hands in lor. In league they look like regular muscular dragonoid hands, while in lor they are old and wrinkled with increadibly long nails n shit. It just looks so cool and creepy, but in a way that feels right for A Sol
the thing with bluedekaiser for me is that i never really associated him with the shadow isles, even with a bit of context i dont really align him with that region mainly because he has a different edge to him compared to the rest of the shadow isles champions, like people could say that hecarim and mordekaiser look similar but mordekaiser looks a lot more fleshed and alive than hecarim, a great way of differentiating them more is by giving hecarim more instead of giving mordekaiser more, and what i mean by this is by going all out on the body horror aspect of hecarim, it was brought up by nicky himself and that idea just stuck with me, otherwise i think league morde still looks badass and serviceable.
I think bluedekaiser is similar to Xerath. There's a lot that's done really well, I think the choice of the ethereal blue is good to separate him from Shadow Isles, LoR really leans into the overlord aspect of his character (god the voicelines and animation is so good) but I do miss the more front line warlord aspect, it is key to his character that he personally fights, the closed off armour does that better I think with the brutal pragmatism of Noxus. Also while I understand the storytelling of the throne it states in his story that he has no need of thrones as he is untiring and eternal having no need of a seat to rule from
Nah I disagree with A Sol, I like that in his league version they took inspiration from both Eastern Dragons and Western Dragons. Wich is such a smart design idea in my opinion.
As a mordekaiser main, I fully agree with NickyBoi's takes on his new redesign and how they are distancing him from the shadow isles, I agree with the new helmet and how it doesn't feel imposing anymore and how they removed the ribcage, I do like the new banners and armor he has on his legs however one thing that feels off to me are the new bicep armor plates that he has it removes the feeling that he is an unstoppable undead iron revenant that he has going on
Mordes current design screams "I AM THE UNLIVING TYRANT, KNEEL, OR BE MADE TO" while the redesign is a little too soft and exaggerated, like a kids cartoon version of him
The LoR art team are just on fire, they do amazing work. I can see people's complaints about the new Morde, but I really like that the color change makes him look like a very distinct kind of necromancy/spirit magic from Thresh etc. Maybe not as scary as he could be, but definitely his own thing.
I knew it would be a bad idea to watch this before going to bed because Yi is on the list and that affects me more than caffeine... Well, here I am, more awake than before👏🏻 (but grateful you kept it brief with him or I would explode)

It doesn't help my case that most if not all of Rivem's skins in LoL have either completely gotten rid of the fitness belt, or replaced it with a small belt that would not even be considered as such.
That's just my viewpoint on it and felt like sharing it. Keep up the awesome videos!
Wait I actually really like that take!
I think medieval corsets accomplished the things you have listed. The historical ones, not the weird, over the skin and super tight ones that the movies show. People wore stuff for reason, either practical or aesthetical.
The amount of discourse we would've been spared from if Seraphine released with her Level 2 LoR design, one can only imagine.
Her visual design was far from her only problem on release, I don’t think it would’ve changed anything.
What they did with Xerath is what we call "verschlimmbessern" in germany, which essentially means, you make something worse, by making it better.
Another day, another great German expression learned
I think a cool concept with Mordekaiser is that he can canonically have a different armour set and appearance for what he looks like in the death realm and what he looks like in Runeterra as they are different personifications of his armour based on when are where they were made. His armour in the death realm is likely his older armour that he envisaged compared to his new armour in Runeterra.
You can differentiate by Blue Kaiser being his ornamental armor, and Mordekaiser Green armor being the war one, the one he fights with.
"There would be outrage if Riot killed off a champion"
Gangplank mains: *war flashbacks*
The new mordekaiser just doesn't look as tanky i think theres just to many holes in his armor
Yeah he's no longer a juggernaut but just some blue spirit possessing an armor. I don't like how many gaps he has as well as the floating head.
He looks like Xerath hit the gym
What's weird is he was like "This sucks. This sucks. This part sucks. But his armor looks like it's from Noxus. A Tier." Like what?
I still hold onto my headcannnon that Kai'sa's human face IS the mask since the Void has erased so much of her natural humanity by this point.
Honestly, this is a much better headcanon.
Would be a nice headcannon, though it would retroactively make the scene in the belveth cinematic look pretty stupid.
@@Tiltigo Not completely. The Void parasite may have devoured Kaisa's body, but it absorbed her memories and her humanity to an extent. This new form, this Kai'Sa, wears her face as a reminder that life is worth protecting even at the expense of their own kind.
Could also add a parallel with Belveth because they both try to look human for completely different reasons.
@@miguelsanchez825 Yes, the problem is both coexisting using gold, yellow and blue 💀
And Janna in this form looks too "divine", she looks like one of Kayle's followers
Janna actually took my breath away (haha) when I saw her god form.
Janna
@@Airwinsy9948 thank you
Seraphine turned from a character I don't wanna see to a one that am begging to see in arcane ✨
God I know the arcane team would do her so well, make her a proper activist and a strong personality instead of just a "la dee da peace is good we should be friends :)" pop star
@@somedragonbastard facts hope she get the rework design in lol two
It would be amazing!
@@nana-cr1vcit's great that it's mostly liked as well. Cause I had some people genuinely argue with me that the old Cait design was better
Christ, seraphine in arcane. The idea of that made me sick.
Quinn, for me, was the reason I started LoR, while Nida and Morg are the reason I came back. I love their designs in LoR and Quinn's spanish voice in LoR, she sounds more gentle and calm, i would say even more confident.
It's a shame they blurred out Quinn in her own level 2 art tho. Always bothered me.
i think that Kayn design may be less of a direct redesign and more of a story progression.
When the Sister looks like the sister
NickyBoi: Suprised Pikachu
For riven’s leather corset type thing. It’s more just like a cinch or even leather armor than anything like an actual corset. As someone who does costuming these waist binds are actually fairly comfortable and are good for keeping your back straight as long as you don’t wear them purposely super tight.
This made my holidays better, thank you nicky man
Honestly, I kinda just like how the LoR redesigns are less sexual. Like, they feel more practical and organic and ironically at least to me that’s sexier
I just love that people still use Skooch's "NOXIAN MIGHT"
New Mordekaiser looks like the villain of a kids cartoon.
Like the lego version of Mordekaiser.
Mordekaiser's new look is literally just a rip-off of Xerath.
Mordekaiser in anything above C is an insane take
Riven got that "I have no enemies" Aura
“it makes her look more like kayle” they made her look like her twin 😮? naaaah no way how dare they
I have the same opinion about LoR Kayn. I like the robe because it adds Ionia feeling to him more. (Having only baggy pants doesn't sell much.) But man I hope they keep the corrupted left eye. Or better, make the eye corruption messy and unclean like his arm/chest portion. That will push it to S tier easily.
liking blue Mord is fukcdin crazy talk.
The Riven "corset" I think is meant to be like a weighlifter's belt to brace her back.
For me, I love the Annie redesign but wish they would have gone with the version from Origins - it’s just so good
Thanks for putting the music used in the description, it's so rare nowadays, and I was losing my sanity while looking for which music was at 14:28 (so Linne's theme)
Nicky's idea for Rumble is really cool!
Aurelion should get a tier of his own just because how much of a badass he looks in lor
I wish they would use Ahri’s ruined king or LOR design for her design in league. Love the look and personality they went for.
it's unfair to compare 3D models to 2D Art, the 3D models will always be on a disadventage
Why are you comparing models instead of splash arts?
It makes little sense.
MAKE THE LIGHTNING RAT LISTENABLE AGAIN ⚡️⚡️🐹🐹
So true
He will avenge his students!
But first he must avenge his students
I'm never super into drawn characters but Sentinel Vayne just does something to me, man. I think it's the hair and glasses.
They took Kaisa's skinsuit and realized that because she has normal human proportions, they could take things away to make her look monstrous but making this separate from her body, she looks more scary
Nicky liked bluedekaiser, his opinion on other redesigns is now invalid
Bluekaiser looks terrible.
He looks like a generic mob monster you kill in an MMO, not the final boss
why is he comparing the LoR art to in-game models and not splash arts? Does he understand the difference between artwork and 3d models and the limitations involved in the translation?
Half of these "reworks" are just good looking new splash arts of the same champ.
Imma be honest, janna second form and nidalee are so bad imo.
Janna doesn't look like a spirit god, but a biblically accurate angel.
And nidalee doesn't look like a wild shapeshifter, but a temple member druid.
Oh, I just noticed how LeBlanc's crown in LoR is more Mordekaiser lookin
Very big brain move comparing in game models and arts
To add on to your point about blue mord is that I like how it separates him from the the ruination because lore wise he had no part of that yet he looked like a war general for veigo
16:30 Click here to see NickyBoi praising Mordekaiser's nipple ornaments
15:12 The Mordekaiser one looks like a deceptive good guy. Like, i can imagine him picking up a deer in the forest and help him get to the other side of the river and his helm deforms the eyes making a happy face like 😊
Edit: A noble giant type of man, maybe im just delulu
I can’t unsee that, if you put him as a noble king in a storybook it actually so scary how well he fits.
I just love the fact that you try to explain Warhammer Ork lore in a LOR video. You got to love Ork lore
I always thought of that band around Riven's waist was more akin to like a lifter belt since her sword is so massive it just kinda tracked for me.
Why are you comparing LoR Splash Arts with LoL models instead of LoL splash arts?
Random Warhammer tangent mid-video, I am all here for it
I don´t think you should be comparing the Lor Splash to de League in game model, it will always be superior even with new champions, the in game models were made to be looked from the top, comparing to the Splash art would be more fair i think.
re: Rumble using Space-Ork logic
While I like it in isolation, and it also makes Ziggs and Tristana make more sense...it destroys Heimer.
Heimer is an esteemed professor of technological research, not only can his technology not run on ork magic, but other yordles can't as well or he would be studying it.
That's a really good point
I main Kayn and I agree with pretty much all you said. I was a bit disappointed when I bought him in LoR when he came out. I could also take or leave the robe, I think the exposed chest works well, but add the more distortion from the LoR version. Also, KEEP THE RED GLOWING EYE!
Morgana I'm also with you pretty much 100%, but honestly I do think she's one of the champs that benefits from a larger chest. I've kind of associated that with her and her caring nature since the redesign and it just feels a little off. Her face and clothing are sooo much better though in her lvl 1
As far as Nidalee goes, literally no words.
He doesn’t have cultists on the shadow isles tho? Maybe you’re referring to his old lore
@@quentin7670 lor seems to be infuring that he does since hes split shadow isles noxus, plus deathgrasp cultist which is a cultist of his is specifically in shadow isles.
Blue Mord looks horrendous, wtf are you smoking my guy?
You're just weak.
Bluedakaiser looks really nice, it separates him from the shadow isles, but I don't like how they made it look like blue fire. makes him kinda look like a ghost rider variant tbh
Dude I *love* the Jet Set Radio music. I know it was only there for a little bit but I just had to give it a shout out.
I feel like this video is unfair because you're looking at models vs. splash art. 3d art will always looks worse in terms of league characters.
Neeko didn't get an update because she's perfect
Bro u cant just compare 2D drawing with an old 3D model
I enjoy the editing in this one.
Why are you using new art and then old models? Why not use the old art?
It just looks so cool and creepy, but in a way that feels right for A Sol
mordekaiser just feels empty, like, not a IRON revenant, but some blue light in hollow armor, no personality, dosent fell alive
LoR Quinn is great, she actually looks like a stealthy scout. Give it to me!!!!!
the thing with bluedekaiser for me is that i never really associated him with the shadow isles, even with a bit of context i dont really align him with that region mainly because he has a different edge to him compared to the rest of the shadow isles champions, like people could say that hecarim and mordekaiser look similar but mordekaiser looks a lot more fleshed and alive than hecarim, a great way of differentiating them more is by giving hecarim more instead of giving mordekaiser more, and what i mean by this is by going all out on the body horror aspect of hecarim, it was brought up by nicky himself and that idea just stuck with me, otherwise i think league morde still looks badass and serviceable.
U got no idea how many times I double tapped on the left of my screen for that "Fellas"
As a mordekaiser main, I fully agree with NickyBoi's takes on his new redesign and how they are distancing him from the shadow isles, I agree with the new helmet and how it doesn't feel imposing anymore and how they removed the ribcage, I do like the new banners and armor he has on his legs however one thing that feels off to me are the new bicep armor plates that he has it removes the feeling that he is an unstoppable undead iron revenant that he has going on
Mordes current design screams "I AM THE UNLIVING TYRANT, KNEEL, OR BE MADE TO" while the redesign is a little too soft and exaggerated, like a kids cartoon version of him
Happy Christmas Nicky
The LoR art team are just on fire, they do amazing work. I can see people's complaints about the new Morde, but I really like that the color change makes him look like a very distinct kind of necromancy/spirit magic from Thresh etc. Maybe not as scary as he could be, but definitely his own thing.
Could not be a better Christmas present out there. Stay safe, nicholas
I had to do a double take at 8:06 when Nicky had his cursor hovering over Kai'sa's eye and it made her look perfectly unhinged 😂
I knew it would be a bad idea to watch this before going to bed because Yi is on the list and that affects me more than caffeine... Well, here I am, more awake than before👏🏻 (but grateful you kept it brief with him or I would explode)
The person who redesigned nidlalee has watched bleach, there is no way there wasn't inspiration from Yoruichi
Morgana's concept arts as The Veiled Lady is peak Morgana, should've been also applied to her level 2 tbh
Happy Holidays Gremlin of Runeterra! Hope the new year treats ya well!
Honestly I think people got used to Morde being green and the fact he looks a bit chunky now also bothered them. I love his redesign besides his helmet being open. I just wish it was closed like before.
Edit: Zilean looks like a DnD wizard in LoR and I all hear for it.
Funny you mention this, as Zillian has a Riftquest skin in LoR. It's quite solid.
Merry Christmas Nicky
Comparing the splashes from LOR to the models in league feels like a cop out, should be comparing base splash to base splash
