All I do is shampoo and condition once a week - wash and go, twice in the summer (sweat, first, etc), go to a professional for a trim every 7 weeks. Everytime I saw a woman with gorgeous long thick healthy hair she told me all she did was shampoo and condition. Didn't click then, but it does now 😂

I’m so happy to finally see more of this content from Influencers. So many outdated practices have made tightly coiled ladies believing they couldn’t wear this style. Love it... your hair looks beautiful.
I mean I can wear a wash and go but only when it's hot and humid which is rarely where I live. And if I'm spending my time in an airconditioned place for 8 hours.....result: dry hair after wearing it out. Also, my 4c curls have super shrinkage so I have to be realistic that I'm not going to get big fluffy curls or any hang time without further manipulation. Manipulation is a no-no for my ultra-fine strands. Been doing the detox for the past 2 months and my hair has been transformed. I’ve switched to botanical gels and mousses because creams and certain oils were too heavy for my fine, thin hair! My hair also holds more water and stays hydrated longer 🙌🏽 It was definitely an eye opener for me!
I’m glad to see that you’ve done the detox! Keep in mind, though, that you shouldn’t “moisturize” at all; you’ve already done that when you shampooed, and conditioned. Also, use a mousse for your twist-outs. They will last far longer, and have much better definition.
I've stopped using oils in my hair 8 months ago and I've noticed a big difference in the health of my hair and scalp. I only use Mizani gentle clarifying shampoo twice then follow up with Mizani moisture rich shampoo once, deep condition with Mizani moisture fusion. My leave in is Mizani miracle milk and I do my twist outs using Mizan mousse.
the detox was great for my hair as well and I use way less products! i personally switched from twisting butters and creams to the mousse def texture foam and it works great for long lasting definition :) glad to see more ppl are get back to the basics of natural hair care! i also agree it's not a trend. these stylists have been giving out this advice for years and i think it's just finally getting more traction
OMG Girl! I used to do the LCO method everytime. And I didn’t understand why my hair was always feeling so dry after I’ve moisturized it. I stopped using oils two days ago and now we’re two days further and my hair feels so soft and not dry at all. The oils were definitely drying my hair out
I couldn’t believe how manageable my hair became after doing this. When I was using oils and butters I was never able to refresh a wash n go the next day. All I gotta do is spray with water and I’m good for the entire day. I’m glad I switched to this method because now my hair routine is so simple and I can feel how hydrated my hair is!!!
@@_avisualz still trying to find what’s right for me but for now I use Pantene classic clean shampoo as well as their moisturizing shampoo and their classic clean conditioner. I suggest asking a stylist what’s best for your hair though.
Same thing happened to me. I clarified and DC my hair, used a leave in and a mousse for my braid out and OMG! i was so shocked my my results. I was hesitant to try doing my hair routine with no oils and butters but i'm so glad i took the plunge. My hair is so moisturised, definition last waaaayyy longer, and my hair is full of bounce and so fluffy. I used to think i had low density hair but that was because i was weighing my fine strands down with oils and heavy butters. Now i can see how full and voluminous my hair truly is.
Oooweee I was waiting for this video! Nay! When I went to my favorite natural hair stylist here in NYC she used mousse to style my hair. This is a really interesting topic. I feel like the moral of everything is knowing your porosity and not being afraid to CLARIFY YOUR HAIR. I'm curious to try styling my hair without oils and butters next wash day. This video was super helpful and thorough. THANK YOU
Today was my first day doing a wash and go since I’ve been natural, and I’ve literally been natural since 2013. Since the very first day I did the big chop, I’ve been using oils and butters in my hair. I was raised on using oil in my hair, even when I was relaxed. After taking out my mini twists last week, my hair was dry and lifeless. My twistout had no definition whatsoever and I was experiencing symptoms of hygral fatigue, even though my hair felt dry at the same time. I usually wash my hair biweekly, but I just could not stand the condition it was in. So I stormed into the shower and I washed my hair with a highly clarifying shampoo. I also used a rinse out conditioner, and when I stepped out of the shower I literally gasped. There before me was my curl pattern, for the very first time! All of these years I’ve thought my hair type was 4c. Just like you, my hair would simply look frizzy and poofy whenever I came out of the shower so I thought I had no curl at all. I used basic gel that I had under my counter as my styler after my wash, and I could not believe my eyes. My hair is shiny, bouncy and full. My coils are literally springing. I’m still in shock. All I know is I’M NEVER GOING BACK. Did I mention that I completed my wash day within 2.5 hours, everything included?!?
back in 2010 when I went natural, I went to an Aveda Salon and they did my natural hair in less than 1.5 hours. so when people are saying how long it takes to do their hair. go to a salon and see how long it takes a pro ( without them taking breaks or styling another client like they often do in Black salons)
I love black girl curls everything they said is the truth even Anthony dickey has been doing the same thing for ages shampoo, condition and style with gel type product. Jennifer rose is another stylist who says the same thing . Foam for set styles and gels for wash n gos 💯
@@phoenixayanna8637 set styles are any hairstyle you have to set in place which are twist outs, braid outs ,bantu knot outs etc . Sitting under a dryer helps to set the style and have it last longer as well
I’ve never used oils and butters in my hair and I noticed that my hair doesn’t like hair products with lots of oils and butters in them. I didn’t even know this was a thing and I thought something was wrong with my hair cause when I used oils or butters it would feel soo dry. 🙏🏾 so glad I found this ❤
Im a curly girl too and ur combination works for my hair type. I don't like the sweeping "do's and don'ts" because our hair types vary so greatly. Butters, oils, water, and mouse/gels usually work great on highly textured curly grades. Especially higher porosity. Lower porosity coils will normally not absorb and will tend to be duller and dryer. We've got to make distinctions with these new discoveries.
@@kfrancis1872 right! Low porosity needs super light oils or they need to warm their oil up so it can penetrate into the hair, that thick oil will just sit in your hair and feel hella dry
I definitely will be trying this.. i started using whipped butter mix on my hair a few years ago and my hair length retention has been so bad since and i get so much breakage and i didn’t know why.
If you never clarify and chelate therein lies your problem. My problem was threefold, not enough moisture or protein, not enough shampoo for clarifying and chelating and too elaborate hairstyles. Only took me 10 years to figure it out. lol!
For twistouts, I started using The Doux Tangle Teaser leave in and the Mousse Def styling mousse and it provides shine, softness with hold. My hair does not feel dry and crunchy. That's all that I use and love it! I no longer use gel.
I noticed when my hair was shorter twa length and I only used aloe Vera in my hair my hair was so shiny and healthy and then the longer it got the more dry and dull my hair became
Also if you got low porosity hair, it will feel dry if your using too thick oil that cant penetrate our hair shaft. Low porosity hair loves heat, that’s how we open up our hair so it can absorb products better. Hot oil is great for our hair
I only use leave in, mousse and some cream to style my hair. When my hair feels dry (to me) I spray water and use a leave in or a spray that doesn’t contain oil
So are we talking about ONLY using oils and butters when styling? or are stylists saying not to use them even with other products? Because I use oil mixed with my creams and hair lotions and I have been able to attain moisturized defined hair. Maybe it’s a porosity thing
Hey love the tips. After we clarify, do we need to use a moisturizing shampoo then conditioner? Or can we skip the moisturizing shampoo since its clean from the clarifying shampoo and go to deep conditioning/regular conditioning?
I did it and I'm not going back to raw butters and oils. I got shelves of products to toss out. I wash (shampoo) every 4 days and my hair stays soft now even if I just wear it in a puff. No more scalp problems. I just use shampoo, conditioner, and mousse for twist outs. I'm not ready for wash and gos yet. No prepoos, deep conditioning, LOC, LCO, etc. and somehow my hair is greatly improving. Yeah NEVER going back!
Maybe give it a try going without. My scalp has started to flake again and is super itchy after washing...all since using more oil on my scalp again. My stylist never oils the scalp.
Your hair looks nice! I think using oils and butters are not bad as many of the no oils no butters influencers say but anywho....the key word is clarify regardless of the products used on your hair and your regimen.....I agree with the person who made reference of a trend as it also seems to be a bashing fest
I think the key is understanding your hair. It's not like they damage your hair but for me and my fine low porosity strands, they made it difficult to moisturise my hair between washes. Since I stopped using them and switched to botanical gels my hair is in so much better condition. I think the problem is that alot of us have just followed certain practices without properly assessing whether they're working for us.
@@fattysl26 I'm glad that it works for you! I have tried many regimens and have an understanding my hair for 10+ years. I primarily use butters on my hair and I know how much to put on and when to tell if my hair is not moisturized.....because I use butters I know that I have to use a certain type of shampoo to properly cleanse my hair. Everyone does things differently and haircare is one of them....as long as the individual is achieving the ultimate goal of healthy and moisturized hair then how/what they use will probably be different than the next person
@@Josieeeetheone I said the exact same thing too. Everyone's hair is different. My hair loves butters especially shea butter (that's one thing my kinky 4c hair listens to 😂), my hair doesn't really like raw oils so I don't use oils in my hair. Now because I use butters a lot and even hair grease (that softens my hair so much), I always clarify every wash day and I never have issues with buildup weighing my hair down and making it feel lifeless. Clarifying the hair is very important and it's one thing many people overlook The key is to find what works for your hair and keep to it.
Can you still use hair grease because I don’t use any other products for hair moisture other than of course water and a shampoo and conditioner weekly?

I've been waiting for this video at the doe! I've been saying this about clarifying shampoos but i need to try this whole detox and water-based products because my scalp just can't get right. It might just be the oils. I can't wait to see all your new content trying these styles without oils. Please don't make me comb my locs out Glo lmao

Hey Glo! I just got sisterlocks and I currently don't use any products. It is taking my scalp some time to get it's strength back and produce it's own oils. Also, my loctitian went to DSA! You might know each other. Keep being great, Queen.
Do you use leave ins? And deep conditioners? Bc I don’t use oil and butters on my hair but I do use leave ins, barely any creams (I only one one and barley use it), and deep conditioners 😬 I also pre poo
Yeah I'd like to see that too. Since I got to shoulder length 4C, using butters and oils, this practice seems counterintuitive to me. I'll stay in my lane with my routine, but this not butters and oils thing seems to be working for a lot of people.
Addendum: clarifying is for heavy build up so they claim you are detoxing all the build up of oils, butters and raw ingredients you were using in your hair even in all the natural hair care lines we use. You do not regularly clarify and if I find their clarifying schedule I'll edit to add it in. No sprays, refreshers or water during the week. You set your style 1x per week and wear it, maybe wrapping your hair in a silk scarf or buff at night.
I shampoo every week and deep condition with heat every week. Now what I use to shampoo varies as I have to balance protein and moisture because I have high porosity ultra-fine hair as well as clarify and chelate and do sensitive scalp care. My scalp shampoos contain gentle sulfates or strong non-sulfates. Depending on the week in my regimen rotation after the scalp shampoo, I use a protein shampoo, a moisturising shampoo or a clarifying and chelating shampoo. Moisturise daily but I do not use tap water in my hair. Tap water where I live is full of crap and shampoo is cheaper than replacing a water filter every 2-3weeks. Once a week is enough tap water for my hair. 30 days detox from what I understand is clarifying weekly, avoiding raw oils and butters, and styling with botanical gel. I won't follow the detox exactly due to my own specific hair and scalp needs and the recommendations of my trichologists.
No, please do to Instagram and follow BGC to get the correct info. They actually emphasize not spraying your hair daily. I have been following their recommendations now for over a year. The first couple of days/months can be rough buy once your hair figures out it's curl pattern, it gets easier. My hair has definition now from the shampoo stage. instagram.com/iamblackgirlcurls?
The truth is you don’t need to spray your hair daily (Jennifer rose- another stylist- says that just makes it smell 😩), a leave in or those custards either! I use UFD plus another gel for extra hold and just the steam from showering softens my hair without disrupting my wng!
Yes, setting your wng under a hooded dryer until those curls are completely dry like BGC instructs will have you getting up and fluffy out your curls. I don’t refresh at all and my curls stay moisturized with shine and no frizz for 7-8 days. I use UFD along w/ Innersense ICH Gel because of where I live and I work out in the hot humid sun 3 times per week. I also switched from satin to silk for bonnet and pillowcases and I don’t wake up w/ bed head anymore, so I also believed my silk accessories helped.
That's Facts!! You really don't need to spray every day. I can do a wng on Sunday and it last until the next Sunday (and beyond if needed) No spraying or shower steam. Just lift it with my fingers a little and go🤸🏽♀️
My high porosity hair and dry environment says no. Lol! I'll stick with the regimen given to me by my trichologists to moisturise daily. Shower steam ain gon cut it with my hair. Oh I definitely do not spray my hair with tap water. It's full of crap where I live.75 percent of the year where I live wash and gos are a no.
I can agree I was trying 😢to do what everyone do!!! The butter was sitting on top of my hair and it would take me forever to wash my hair so I'm trying to get my hair back trained ! It's a mind thing oil doesn't moisturize my hair!
I have a question. Do you follow up the clarifying shampoo with a moisturizing shampoo? I'm just afraid of trying to detangle after washing with a clarifying shampoo.
This popped up in my search so I decided to check it out. I had heard of naturalistas doing this a few years ago and the shea butter crowds were shook lol. I chopped for the third time last year and decided to do wash n gos. Leave in then gel. No oils or butters to style. My hair and wash n gos have been thriving and the growth is unbelievable. So I totally agree with you here. Great video!
You don’t do anything differently for winter. Maybe use a different gel to style due to climate and how the ingredients react, but the routine remains the same. It’s simple, cleanse (shampoo), condition w/rinse out conditioner (detangle here), style with botanical/water based gels or foams depending on your style choice. Set it under the dryer and forget it until you wash again in 5-7 days. Follow iamblackgirlcurls on ig
I’m confused. How did you detox and for how long? Did you just use a clarifying shampoo? And since you’re pregnant, do you think that has had any effect on your hair?
I detoxed by cutting out raw oils and butters for 30 Days. The first detox wash day i used a clarifying shampoo to get rid of the layer i had on my hair. After that i used regular shampoos on wash day and only styled with products that did not have raw oils and butters in the first 5 ingredients. After the 30 days I continued this regimen and i only use a clarifying shampoo if I decide to use butters in my hair or as needed.
I naturally just stop using oil and butter about 2 years ago, because I just wanting a simple routine in my life! I don’t even use regular shampoo! I make my own with dr. Brown liquid soap and homemade products and essential oil! My hair love water!
I'm going to try this, i just ordered a botanical gel! I don't know how I didn't come to this conclusion- when I used grease or oils, my hair would be oiled up but my scalp would itch so badly. butter and puddings definitely didn't work for me at all, would leave a white cast and sit on top of hair, it basically did nothing for me. creams would soak in but it also pretty much did nothing. but I used foam once after putting several other products on it and my hair looked freaking amazing. I don't know why i didn't use it again. I also suffer from really dry scalp and i think I'm starting to figure out why.. I would wash only every 2 weeks. even when I did it once a week, i still had dandruff. I always had dandruff, itchy scalp, etc. and I think for myself right now I should wash everyday or every 3 days tbhon bc how dry it currently is from throwing oils on it and depriving it of moisture for so long. I put oil on top of it when it itched instead of washing it 😶
update: I finished the detox in November and my hair loves what I'm doing now. i bought a mousse (the doux foam mousse) since my flaxseed gel is kind of flakey. I plan on buying the innersense gel since I heard good reviews about it. my hair is definitely growing too- I did a bigchop with not even an inch of hair when i started the detox and it's grown so much from then. it almost never itches. it only itches when I accidentally get product on my scalp since i have a TWA. it looks so pretty and feels nice too. my hair is so fast to do now and i usually don't have to fool with it at all for at least 4 days after wash day
I’m not saying “licensed” hairstylists are wrong but licensed hairstylists used to tell me relaxers were fine and that I needed a trim everyone time I relaxed my hair. I already know they’re not “all” like this but when most of us started this journey no one knew what they were doing so if you or anyone else realizes that what was working for the majority wasn’t working for you or you want to do less instead of more do that, but don’t tell people they’re wrong. Because the next thing you know just like this natural hair movement people always find their way back to what they know works for them…. I’m over here trying to find hair grease okay lol 👀😅
Definitely do what works for you. I can only do wash and go's when it's hot and humid. 75 % of the year where I live the indoor temperature is dry AF: central heating and air conditioning. I see what it does to my skin and then I imagine it doing that to my more fragile hair and it's a no. From Dec-February, my winter hair gets so ridiculous I have to put a small amount of oil, butter, grease, and/or silicone on the ends to stop the friction. My scalp and the hard water where I live won't let me give up on sulfates and my ultra fine, high porosity hair needs daily moisture and daily protein. You have to learn your specific hair and scalp type. Also if it isn't broke don't fix it!! Right now my regimen works so I won't be doing the 30 day detox and I already don't use raw oils butters and grease or stylers on a daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly basis.
Licensed hairstylist back in the day for sure, Thankfully there are a bunch out there now that not only pay for their cosmetology license, but then also after getting their license, pay thousands more to actually go on to learn about how to care for our natural hair, so we no longer have to change it if we don't want to. Thankfully BGC curate a list of stylists that do just that.
Whew 🥴 guess it’s time for me to do a hair detox! Even though my wash n go’s look decent I have noticed my hair is frizzier when wet now than it used to be
Just a warning that your hair might not like it at first (because it’s likely dehydrated) but after a few weeks, it’ll start to absorb water (the hair going flatter when wetting it)
Thank you for sharing! Would you try KeraCare Natural Textures Twist & Define Cream (gold label) or Entwine Couture Creme Jelle Styler? Or for mousses for twist-outs The Doux Mousse Def only or Design Essentials Natural Almond & Avocado Curl Enhancing Mousse alone for a twist-out? These are some recommendations I've heard about for achieving a twist-out. I have had great success with The Doux mousse alone on damp hair and with the KeraCare twist & define cream as well but all of them under a hooded dryer not airdrying ( it makes the difference).

@camillejanae on twitter and Instagram and @digitaloctitian on youtube and Instagram has information on locs. They say still no oils and butters but it’s not the exact same products and care as loose hair.
Oils should not be put on the scalp other than maybe 10 min before a shampoo. Shampoo is made for the scalp and all other products should be focused on the hair only. As Gloria said, if you put oil on the scalp eventually it will clog follicles and produce an itchy scalp.
I don't know about that. I don't put oil on my scalp anymore, and it itches so bad, I can hardly maintain a protective style for long. I'm actually considering going back to oils, since they helped.
@@trinity72gp I did. I didn't have a particular one. It was sometimes olive oil, or shea butter. Even grease. They kept my flakes in check, and my scalp was much happier. I just took down a protective style weeks early because it was flake city. My scalp couldn't stand it anymore. I'm definitely going back to oiling my scalp.
@Faith Bankole I think, you need a ketoconazole or heads and shoulders shampoo to keep the flakes off. That is fungus and the oil is feeding it. When you completely take them off, you will be able to stay without oil and not feel itchy. This happened to me. Am back to a happy scalp, I had to treat off the dandruff/fungi. I got to a point that I had serious migraine because of the itch.
I think my hair is an anomaly. I wash my hair every 2 weeks with sulphate shampoos. I wear wash and gos and I don't have to refresh between wash days. My hair retains moisture for two weeks. I drink a gallon of water daily and I don't use gels or mousse. I use a leave in, a curling cream and seal with olive oil. My wash and gos stay defined and soft and I don't have issues with tangles. I have fine to medium strands and 4A curl pattern.
Porosity. I have high porosity so I moisturize daily and mostly twice daily. My hair but more importantly my scalp needs to be shampooed every 7 days. My hair needs protein, chelating and clarifying shampoo and lots of moisture. You seem to be giving your hair everything it needs, that's why it's not revolting. lol!
why were y’all STYLING your hair with oils and butters? I didn’t even know people did that. I use oils after my hair is moisturized to lock in the moisture, to promote a healthy scalp, and also to prevent breakage and friction since is a slippery protective barrier for your hair. There’s nothing wrong with oils and butters, you just got to use them the right way. And if they been working for you don’t just stop using them, do what works for your hair. And yes if you use oils then you need to use a clarifying shampoo to wash it out. Without oils, my hair will last maybe 3 days but with oils my hair last a whole week.

the detox was great for my hair as well and I use way less products! i personally switched from twisting butters and creams to the mousse def texture foam and it works great for long lasting definition :) glad to see more ppl are get back to the basics of natural hair care! i also agree it's not a trend. these stylists have been giving out this advice for years and i think it's just finally getting more traction
Yes, that Mousse Def is the business!
OMG Girl! I used to do the LCO method everytime. And I didn’t understand why my hair was always feeling so dry after I’ve moisturized it. I stopped using oils two days ago and now we’re two days further and my hair feels so soft and not dry at all. The oils were definitely drying my hair out
Yea I think this is the same for me too my hair always feels so dry after using oils
I relate to this so much. After stopping the oil use and noticing the softness of my hair I really felt bamboozled by the LCO method 😩

I couldn’t believe how manageable my hair became after doing this. When I was using oils and butters I was never able to refresh a wash n go the next day.
Been doing it for 3 months love it the first couple of week it’s rough with the detoxing
I love black girl curls everything they said is the truth even Anthony dickey has been doing the same thing for ages shampoo, condition and style with gel type product. Jennifer rose is another stylist who says the same thing . Foam for set styles and gels for wash n gos 💯

I’ve never used oils and butters in my hair and I noticed that my hair doesn’t like hair products with lots of oils and butters in them. I didn’t even know this was a thing and I thought something was wrong with my hair cause when I used oils or butters it would feel soo dry. 🙏🏾 so glad I found this ❤
You have just taught a cosmetology class. Good job. Looking good and Thank you.
A very honest video of how you’ve implemented your learning into your regimen. Thank you.
I still use my leave in, but I water it down. I clarify my hair and deep condition. Then my spray leave in, lotta body moose, and eco gel.
@@uhlanibrock3868 Thank u...will do!!
Also congratulations on your pregnancy!!
Only took me 10 years to figure it out. lol!
Our hair is meant to coil ➿ or curl ➰➰ everything that prevents this will cause issues. Butters weigh down our hair.
For twistouts, I started using The Doux Tangle Teaser leave in and the Mousse Def styling mousse and it provides shine, softness with hold. My hair does not feel dry and crunchy. That's all that I use and love it! I no longer use gel.
No, come to think of it, I haven't seen my stylist use butter on my hair 🤔
Could you list the products you used for the detox and the moisturizer. Thank you.

Lawd those lashes😂🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Could you show us your favorite regimen on no oil/butter wash and style day
Looking forward to the content sis. Yes! I've made similar changes to my regimen as well and noticed a difference.
I only use Hawaiian 🌺 ginger curl activator gel in my head after I shampoo and condition my hair. Oil and butters made my hair feel rough.
I saw that you shouldn't use Raw oils, I think if it isn't one of the main 5 ingredients on a product list it should be okay
Thank you sooooo much because I tell my daughters that oil makes my hair feel dry and now I know I was not tripping so thank you God bless you 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thanks for answering my question.
I’m definitely doing this #30dayhairdetox !
Hey love the tips. After we clarify, do we need to use a moisturizing shampoo then conditioner? Or can we skip the moisturizing shampoo since its clean from the clarifying shampoo and go to deep conditioning/regular conditioning?
Yesssss Sis! I totally agree with your comments.
All of this. I found this out by mistake. Lol I was just feeling lazy on a wash day and wasn’t feeling like doing all that greasing and buttering
Ooouu sis ship the products to me I’ll take them 😂😂
I've never used butter, but if I don't use oil my scalp gets too itchy. Obviously oil isn't a moisturizer, but it helps my hair
Maybe give it a try going without. My scalp has started to flake again and is super itchy after washing...all since using more oil on my scalp again. My stylist never oils the scalp.
@@BowPromise I mean I could try going without oil. Idk about the 3 step method though, without leave in conditioner my hair has gotten really dry
I used coconut oil and my hair felt oily yet dry at the same time.
I have been waiting to start using a mousse. Which mousse would you recommend? Thank you.
Clarifying the hair is very important and it's one thing many people overlook
The key is to find what works for your hair and keep to it.
Thank you so much! Would definitely try this out!
Can you still use hair grease because I don’t use any other products for hair moisture other than of course water and a shampoo and conditioner weekly?
No hair grease because it has petroleum and other harmful substances in it.....

Hey I wanted to know what is the 30 day detox and if you'll be able to let us know how we can do it
Any examples of women with long hair, mid back length hair doing this practice???
Yeah I'd like to see that too. Since I got to shoulder length 4C, using butters and oils, this practice seems counterintuitive to me. I'll stay in my lane with my routine, but this not butters and oils thing seems to be working for a lot of people.
LaToya Ebony just posted a video about this. She gets A TON of shrinkage, but I believe her hair is mid-back length.
What does length got to do with it? People cut their hair and still keep hair with no butter or oil.
Do you have to do 30 days before or can you just start the new process?
Great info!
Shalom, what type of clarifying shampoo r u using? It’s morning I may have missed something..
Glowgang!!💜🙋🏾♀️👍🏾
Do you clarify every week and what is the 30 day detox ? Is it just spraying your hair with water

What detox have you done ✅

Paul Mitchell #3 is the truth. It cleans your strands.
I plan on buying the innersense gel since I heard good reviews about it. my hair is definitely growing too- I did a bigchop with not even an inch of hair when i started the detox and it's grown so much from then. it almost never itches. it only itches when I accidentally get product on my scalp since i have a TWA. it looks so pretty and feels nice too. my hair is so fast to do now and i usually don't have to fool with it at all for at least 4 days after wash day
I honestly use a leave in and then won’t touch my hair for days. My hair does pretty well just doing that😭
I’m not saying “licensed” hairstylists are wrong but licensed hairstylists used to tell me relaxers were fine and that I needed a trim everyone time I relaxed my hair.
AG and Innerscense products work best for me and they don't contain oils and butter in the first 5 ingredients
Whew 🥴 guess it’s time for me to do a hair detox! Even though my wash n go’s look decent I have noticed my hair is frizzier when wet now than it used to be
I have no idea what this wet frizz is but I shampoo regularly so......
Just a warning that your hair might not like it at first (because it’s likely dehydrated) but after a few weeks, it’ll start to absorb water (the hair going flatter when wetting it)
Is this recommended for extremely dry scalp .. my scalp is so dry and I’m scared of my scalp getting worse

did you stop using qhemet biologist? It's full of oils in the first ingredient
Yes, but only when i did the 30 Day Detox. I used one of their products recently for a braid out and clarified on wash day.
Maybe that may work for you but it won’t work for me. My scalp is already dry so I need oils and butters.
Please see a dermatologist. Adding oils and butters to your scalp feeds the bacteria growth making it worse.
What can we use then because my scalp gets soo dry and flaky without oil
@@faithbankole4851🇬🇧🙋🏾♀️ Did you use oils on your scalp before and then stop? If so what oils were you using???

If you are on a budget how to do this challenge
Great Video. First time coming across your channel.
I wash my hair twice a week.
You seem to be giving your hair everything it needs, that's why it's not revolting. lol!
That's the thing most hair gurus are anomalies. Most people can't do what you and they do and still have healthy hair.
why were y’all STYLING your hair with oils and butters? I didn’t even know people did that. I use oils after my hair is moisturized to lock in the moisture, to promote a healthy scalp, and also to prevent breakage and friction since is a slippery protective barrier for your hair. There’s nothing wrong with oils and butters, you just got to use them the right way. And if they been working for you don’t just stop using them, do what works for your hair. And yes if you use oils then you need to use a clarifying shampoo to wash it out. Without oils, my hair will last maybe 3 days but with oils my hair last a whole week.
