I was truly surprised at Judge Boyce. I thought he wasn't strong enough in the beginning to handle this big case. But he truly handled every part of it with fairness to both sides. It angered me when he wouldn't televise the trial but now I realize that was for the best. His speech at the end showed he considered all factors in this case and let Lori know what she did was murdered her children , not help them through her religious beliefs. He put it all.out there. Very good Judge Boyce. You did well.

He had to worry about Chad's trial. Trying not to pollute the jury pool anymore that it already was. Besides, it is not mandated in US law that trials have to be televised. In states where it is allowed it is completely up to the Judge's discretion.

Lori's cousin also told about how she had no empathy before now. She had no empathy for anyone when they were growing up. Her cousin said, if Lori didn't get her way you were her enemy Like the time Lori's boyfriend ran over the poor cat in his Jeep and they laughed about it. Her cousin said, it really bothered her.though and she wanted to stop and help the poor cat. I don't think Lori has ever cared about anyone but herself. I think this judge was too easy on her. Too bad she didn't get a more stern judge. I believe more people need to go to prison. Not just Lori and Chad. All these people that knew what was going on and did nothing to stop it. They will be judged again when they die and I'm pretty sure they'll be in hell. God will do worse than we could ever do to them. They'll have to suffer in hell for an eternity for killing Charles, Tylee, JJ, and Tammy. RIP Charles, Tylee, JJ, and Tammy. 😢

It’s not that she ”isn’t the person [everyone in her life] knew”; personality disorders are pervasive and trace back to very early childhood. It’s that her friends and family are ENABLERS who cheered her on until she was caught and exposed for the murders of her children. Listen to her brother Adam in calls with law enforcement. He’s a prime example of intellectual honesty and, it seems, the one person close to Lori who saw through the BS and called her out.

When people do terrible things it shows up in their face. She probably does have other crimes but she did not get caught or got convictions for them. The judge was more than fair to her. She was not a good mother. She brutally murdered her own children so probably she did abuse them mentally and or physically at some time or times prior to killing them. Her religiosity is bs. She was motivated by greed. She could have left them with the grandparents and walked away. She could have avoided all of this. She can only think of herself and only has pity for herself.

It's important to keep in mind that, when you're a judge, you have to acknowledge both the good and bad things about the defendant, even if they're an evil killer, because if the judge only says the bad things and scorns the defendant, appeal lawyers can use that to say the judge was unfair. So this judge starts his statement by saying Lori is a good inmate and has never caused problems and is entitled to due process... and then he goes in and tells her the truth. Mwahahaha
