Hey Cody. On behalf of the team at Womp Stomp I just wanted to say we are honored to make your final list with Never Hike Alone and appreciate you sharing our film with your audience.
+Womp Stomp Films No problem whatsoever guys. Glad to promote that awesome movie you all worked so hard on. I also plan to do a full review of Never Hike Alone in January so hopefully I can bring it even more attention. Great work everyone and keep it up!
Cody I hope you continue prospering and progressing with this channel. So much potential man. You're input is very different and not the same as every other critic. Appreciate the content, best of luck!
What I love about Cody's videos is how real he is...they're very well done, but it just feels like a real genuine guy sharing his thoughts and opinions on movies...like he's not a snobby critic.
I saw Get Out in the theaters. I loved it Get Out was the horror film that got me into horror films. I was 14 year old when i first saw Get Out. Before i saw Michael Myers, Exorcist, Freddy and Chucky
I agree with you on Thomas Jane in 1922. I was blown away by his performance. So unlike anything I've ever seen him do. Hard to believe he's the same guy from Deep Blue Sea and The Mist.
Better Watch Out was my HM as well! Love how different our lists are. Just goes to show how much great horror content is out there this year. Luckily we were able to put a top 10 list together! Great list brother! This was a blast.
+Drumdums Yeah man I don't think I could've done a Top 10 last year or the year before. 2017 killed it (no pun intended). These collab rankings are awesome!
aaaand I just saw your number one. lol. I genuinely hated this movie. it is intended to be fun gore movie, however I cannot ignore logic that much. it was just plain stupid. I understand this type of movie most people love or hate, but I honestly didn't find any quality except how hot main actress is how nice were first 15 minutes (nice friend-story between those two). compared to similar "Better watch out", this is 4/10 max.
Here my list 1. Tragedy Girls 2. Victor Crowley 3. Babysitter 4. Alien: Covenant 5. Never Hike Alone - Thanks Cody for recommend this one 6. Split 7. Happy Death Day 8. Game of Death 9. Leatherface 10. Jigsaw The last 3 are just there to fill out the list I really want to see: IT, 1922, It comes at Night, Jeepers Creepers 3, and The Ice Cream Truck.
M Goode I saw Tragedy Girl at a horror festival in Ireland in October, im not sure if it had a general release. Check this link out this may help: www.movieinsider.com/m15860/tragedy-girls/releases
Tragedy girls is my fave too.it is alot of fun.Sadie and Mkay are a blast to watch.Loved the Babysitter and happy death day.i think as i get older i prefer comedy in my horror. Lol
Cody Leach mc G movies are good but get different responses like I really liked his terminator salvation. Babysitter was alright, seems like the same vibe & girl from ash vs evil dead but the episodes she was in was better than that movie.
I think Halloween had a really good fan film called Halloween: Inferno that played in theaters in Canada. Remember hearing something about it in the Halloween 25 Years of Terror DVD
I was pleasantly surprised by "The Babysitter." I watched it while I was working out a couple weeks ago and for the first time in forever, didn't want to stop running because I wanted to keep watching. It was great.
Robert Delafuente I think the fact that there isn’t really an explanation of where the book came from, I would love to see a origin film of Where it begin and who it begins with, idk we’ll see thou. Sequels are almost always fuck ups.
Will do, I have been looking for a good horror movie reviewer. Me and my wife have been watching nodding our heads in agreement with pretty much all of your reviews. You have the same tast as we do, cheers! Also, Jeepers Creepers 3 was fucking GARBAGE. I wish I didnt work so much because I would start a channel myself, I love ranting and praising horror movies.
Dude! I didn't know much about "The Babysitter" until I watched your top 10 horror movies video. It was your number one, so I had to check it out! OMG! This movie was a blast! Soooo much fun! So glad I found your video channel (by mistake) and now I'm a new Sub because this was a great vid and great pic! Thank you and stuff!
Matthew B Seems to me you are a Cody Leach fan, so I know that sarcasm isn’t lost on you. ‘Twas irony I was seeking fellow traveler, but my gratitude to you for your clarification and enlightenment. AKA: It was a joke Bro!!!! 😎
11.happy death day 10.cult of chucky 9.jigsaw 8.jeepers creepers 3 7.it comes at night 6.Annabel creation 5.split 4.get out 3.IT 2.a cure for wellness 1. better watch out
Overall....a pretty decent list, but didn't care for a few movies though. Babysitter was just ok and Leatherface was bad, in my opinion. I liked 1922 and the IT remake. Even though it was on the honorable mention list, "Better watch out" was just ok for me, but I really hated all of the characters....even the lead final girl! You've convinced me to give "Devil's Candy" a second look, so I'll have to rewatch it one of theses days. Anyway, thanks for the list!!
Great list! I haven't seen that many horror movies this year, so my list is going to go from weakest to best: 6. The Mummy 5. Gerald's Game 4. Cult of Chucky 3. 1922 2. Annabelle: Creation 1. It I didn't mind The Mummy much. It was crammed with forced Dark Universe setup that dragged it down and some of the effects and acting sucked. Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, and Russell Crowe gave good performances. I am interested to see how the Dark Universe plays out ONLY if they stop the forced setup and do passion projects. I liked it more than Transformers: The Last Knight (that's not saying much though). Gerald's Game was a disturbing psychological movie. The thought of being trapped with no way out of that situation is disturbing. The Moonlight Man was creepy. The escape scene was grotesque (I'm not squeamish or anything, but that scene grossed me out). And Jessie's dad. You thought Beverly's dad in It was creepy; Jessie's dad is WAY more creepy than Al Marsh is. Cult of Chucky was decent. Not as bad as 3-5 in the series (I'm not a fan of Bride), but not as good as 1, 2, or 6. Brad Dourif was good as Chucky again and I liked Fiona Dourif as well. The possession/multiple bodies stuff was odd, but not TOO out of place (this is a series about a talking possessed killer doll after all). The stuff with Andy was a letdown to me. This was built up as the "return of Andy, coming to end Chucky once and for all" and he didn't do much in the end. I'm interested to see the next movie though. 1922 was an excellent movie. It was a good character-driven movie and kept my attention through the whole runtime. The acting was very good. Annabelle: Creation was WAY better than it should have been. The atmosphere, acting, and suspense was excellent. There were scenes that scared me a little as well. The camerawork was great and the use of the dark provided for some great suspenseful and scary scenes. It tied in nicely to the first Annabelle. Watching Annabelle: Creation is also one of the best theater experiences I've had ever! I can't say enough great things about It. It was one of my most anticipated movies of 2017 and it didn't disappoint. The acting, cinematography, music, and some of the effects were excellent. The kid actors are some of the best actors this year! It is my 2nd favorite movie this year and one of my favorite Stephen King adaptations. This year was a good year for horror. There are some movies I haven't seen yet that I want to see like Leatherface, Get Out (it seems overrated to me though), Split, Happy Death Day, and The Babysitter.
I watched "1922" because of your review & countdown. But what an absolute heap of shit!!! I do agree with you that Thomas Jane plays his character really well, but overall the film was poor.
OMG I was so relieved when you said "Get Out" was overrated... I was about to comment that when you were praising it, LOL. It's not at all a bad debut but I think it gets given a lot more "powerful" credit than it deserves - its message, instead of creeping up on you and getting under your skin, is slathered so thickly onto the plot that it almost becomes a parody of itself, and not in a good way. I think it's the writing. The message would have gained power if it had been more skillfully built into the story.
Agreed. I mean, the director even said he didn't care for the miniseries and wanted to do something closer to the book. It's not a remake and never have been. It's an adaption. If it was a remake, it would have included some of the (many) stuff from the miniseries that wasn't ever in the novel to begin with.
You peaked my curiosity on never hike alone but then you mentioned there was only one bloody death in it and I was like...spoilers. Great video nonetheless and I’ll still check it out!
I couldn't agree on your review if get out 100%. Best picture? I don't think back in the day saving private Ryan got best picture. I definitely left theatre shaken after seeing Ryan. After Get Out I was like that was cool.
My Top 10 Best Horror Movies of 2017: From Greatest to Least 1. IT Remake 2. Get Out 3. Annabelle: Creation 4. Happy Death Day 5. It Comes At Night 6. Creep 2 7. 1922 (Netflix) 8. Gerald’s Game (Netflix) 9. Jigsaw 10. Cult of Chucky
5 films from your list appear in mine mate. And 3 I haven't even seen, so who knows, our lists could have been even similar. I'm intrigued with 1922 now. It seems it's been a pretty good year for Stephen King adaptations.
+Bryan Lomax Movie Talk Very good year for Stephen King! Hopefully we continue to get good adaptations and Hollywood doesn't take the success of IT and learn the wrong lessons from it.
1922 is the best stephen king movie i have ever seen. dark. country. raw. original. not for every one. i love it. thomas jane is awesome. i also loved geralds game.
I'm new here, any explanation if possible, which kid in, "IT," and why? And the adult storyline, not as important. 👍🏼👍🏼🤓 please and thanks. Oh yes, though BT should have been/be AON.
The director of "It" also directed "mama" which I thought was pretty good.I saw the trailer for the baby sitter.I wouldn't like it because there's too much comedy in it and that wouldn't scare me.
Great video but I was actually expecting the babysitter to be on your worst movies list. It seemed really fake and commercial, especially how the Viner, yes Viner King Bach was in it. Besides that I completely agree with your list.
I love your videos and your channel, but I hated the first Annabelle lol. All jokes aside, you've been killing it dude. Wish you the best of luck and success with this channel.
After seeing what your number one was and how much hype you had for it I paused the video and went and watched it, and damn i was no expecting it to be as good, there was a couple cringy momments in the film but non the less very good film, now im going to watch all the movies on your list haha you have good taste. keep it up man, high quality content aswell i will be keeping an eye on you're horror recommendations.
watched happy death day last night. amazing movie. comedy and horror inter wined beautifully, not for every one again. reminded me of triangle movie. sysiphus punishment concept it amazing.
Whats up man. Quick question have you seen Bedeviled on Netflix? If so whats your thoughts? I personally liked it. But it had some problems the main one is most I the kills they dont even show and the movie is pretty dark most of the time no good lighting for most of the movie.
By the way, I don't know if you realized this, (and I might be wrong because I didn't look in the credits), but I think in Never Hike Alone, the guy who played Tommy (the ambulance driver) was the actual guy who played Tommy Jarvis in Friday part 6. I'm almost 100% sure that was him. Actually, I just looked, and it was!
Should make best horror movies of all time video, unless I can’t find it.
Cody I hope you continue prospering and progressing with this channel. So much potential man. You're input is very different and not the same as every other critic. Appreciate the content, best of luck!
+DVNGELO Morales Thank you. The channel is growing pretty nicely.
What I love about Cody's videos is how real he is...they're very well done, but it just feels like a real genuine guy sharing his thoughts and opinions on movies...like he's not a snobby critic.
Great list! Love that another horror fan appreciates Leatherface as much as we do!
+HORROR ADDICTS Thanks guys. Definitely enjoyed this one!
The Babysitter was awesome! Definitely one of the best in 2017.

+Drumdums Yeah man I don't think I could've done a Top 10 last year or the year before. 2017 killed it (no pun intended). These collab rankings are awesome!
the real zeldamaster of minecraft Oh its that guy who called me fake critic and said Bye Bye Man was great in the same sentence. Poor little guy...
I thought i was the only one that like anabelle creation...this is the only movie in a long time that made me cover my eyes..lolll
+Tank Connors It was intense man
I remember when it had a 100% and I love it
It was easily the best film of 2017.
Excellent List! Years later and still haven’t seen “the Babysitter.” I’m watching that very soon.
Great rankings Cody. I think I'll declare you the winner for the top 10 list. The Babysitter was a huge surprise! Loved the Hell out of it
+Locarbmonster Awesome!
wow I am really happy I found this channel. great job man. really professional.
aaaand I just saw your number one. lol. I genuinely hated this movie. it is intended to be fun gore movie, however I cannot ignore logic that much. it was just plain stupid. +CrogerMan Thank you glad you enjoy it. Not everyone loved The Babysitter but obviously I had an absolute blast with it.
I knew the babysitter was going to be on there, but wasn’t expecting it to be number one, great list though.
+Tieran Cummings Thank you!

Cody Leach mc G movies are good but get different responses like I really liked his terminator salvation.
Babysitter was alright, seems like the same vibe & girl from ash vs evil dead but the episodes she was in was better than that movie.
I was curious about 1922. Now that I know you like it, I may have to give it a shot. And the Babysitter...need to see that.

this was so helpful, thanx!
I was pleasantly surprised by "The Babysitter." I watched it while I was working out a couple weeks ago and for the first time in forever, didn't want to stop running because I wanted to keep watching. It was great.

Cody Leach why didn't "train to Busan" make the list?
Babysitter is not a horror it’s more of a bloody action packed film and what does it leaves at the end for a sequel???
Robert Delafuente I think the fact that there isn’t really an explanation of where the book came from, I would love to see a origin film of Where it begin and who it begins with, idk we’ll see thou. Sequels are almost always fuck ups.
What's going on there's sir Cody! Good stuff as always!
+Joseph Neva Thank you!
What about Gerald’s Game? I love that movie.
damien breitsprecher same but opinion
+Matthew B I didn't consider it horror. Great movie though
That was boring asf
I agree with King, just boring movie.
damien breitsprecher boring

+Steven Odom Awesome thank you
Also, Leatherface TANKED in reviews so badly I didn't watch it, but now I will thanks to you.
+Steven Odom Just go in with moderate expectations. It's like a Devils Rejects road movie with some Leatherface origin
+Steven Odom Glad you guys enjoy the channel. Yes JC3 was boiled shit
The best horror movie of 2017 is... IT! Keep up the good work, Cody. You better do the review of Insidious 4: The Last Key on January 5th, 2018, okay?

+Bruce Brown if it is better it's gonna be one hell of a year
Cult of Chucky is best of 2017
A metal horror movie? I'm sold!
Great video Cody! You and Drumdums are the best movie reviewers!
+lijster awesome Thank you. Horror brothers!
Great list! I haven't seen that many horror movies this year, so my list is going to go from weakest to best:
6. The Mummy
5. Gerald's Game
4. Cult of Chucky
3. 1922
2. Annabelle: Creation
1. It
I didn't mind The Mummy much. It was crammed with forced Dark Universe setup that dragged it down and some of the effects and acting sucked. I watched "1922" because of your review & countdown.
But what an absolute heap of shit!!!
I do agree with you that Thomas Jane plays his character really well, but overall the film was poor.
To each their own
Cody Leach
👍✌
Agreed
I disagree really hard.
IT was a really good remake I loved it and scared the shit of me lol
Really enjoyed 31, IT, Jigsaw, Happy Death Day, Get Out, Annabelle Creation, lot of good horror last year. Here's to another one
How do i watch never hike alone?
+Chad Daugherty Search it on UA-cam
Chad Daugherty netflix
What about the Mother movie? I simply loved that movie but I don't know if can be included in the horror genre. What is your opinion?
OMG I was so relieved when you said "Get Out" was overrated... I was about to comment that when you were praising it, LOL. It's not at all a bad debut but I think it gets given a lot more "powerful" credit than it deserves - its message, instead of creeping up on you and getting under your skin, is slathered so thickly onto the plot that it almost becomes a parody of itself, and not in a good way. I think it's the writing. The message would have gained power if it had been more skillfully built into the story.
I enjoy your presentation. Hopefully, the movies are really that good

Happy Death Day was a great surprise. I didn’t like the look of it from the trailer but I enjoyed it a lot!
Hi. Which character in IT.,did you not like ?
IT isn’t a remake dang it they didn’t use the Lawerence Cohen script at all as the basis (I know I know I’m nitpicking)?
+White Tim lol I consider it a remake regardless
Agreed. I mean, the director even said he didn't care for the miniseries and wanted to do something closer to the book. It's not a remake and never have been. It's an adaption. Oh, and Better Watch Out would have been my honourable mention. It came so close.
+Bryan Lomax Movie Talk Very good year for Stephen King! Hopefully we continue to get good adaptations and Hollywood doesn't take the success of IT and learn the wrong lessons from it.
You know how many times I overlooked this movie? This movie is fucking badass. Thank you!
+Johnnythepillpopper Which movie

Never Hike Alone is fantastic
Babysitters really good but not #1
I'm sorry, did you say that horror movies should have so much gore they should be rated r?
The director of "It" also directed "mama" which I thought was pretty good.I saw the trailer for the baby sitter.I wouldn't like it because there's too much comedy in it and that wouldn't scare me.
Can't believe your putting 1922 as Number 9 .
The babysitter was soooooo good and the chick in it’s Australian and I’m Australian so I love it even more for that haha
Personally I think IT was better than the babysitter but most of the films on your list was good. Good video.
Great video but I was actually expecting the babysitter to be on your worst movies list. It seemed really fake and commercial, especially how the Viner, yes Viner King Bach was in it. Besides that I completely agree with your list.
To each their own I loved the babysitter
IT!!! IT is the scariest movie ever made!
I love your videos and your channel, but I hated the first Annabelle lol. All jokes aside, you've been killing it dude. Wish you the best of luck and success with this channel.
+icebergthegamer Thanks so much
I’m confused you said please don’t mess up #IT chapter 2 as adults like you did in 1990 how when the director is not the same as 2017 and 2019 it 2
just dont bring back the spider!! thats all i ask!! lol
If you haven't seen it on Netflix yet you should check out Hush. That's a good one. Gave me chills.
+Christofer Jenks Great movie
I've found myself afraid to try out some of these films in fear of them being terrible.
+Connor Robertson Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching!

+Poetic Gangsta Disliked every one of those movies

+Living dead Plush Awesome
Whats up man. Quick question have you seen Bedeviled on Netflix? If so whats your thoughts? I personally liked it. But it had some problems the main one is most I the kills they dont even show and the movie is pretty dark most of the time no good lighting for most of the movie.
+Wardor 1992 Never heard of it
Cody Leach You should check it out!
+xxoxia Yep that was Tom Matthews
Just wanna say I watched Devils Candy because of this video an it was great.Adding it to the blurays
+BoomStick Critique awesome
1922 was better than “the babysitter” to me!
