Sharapova’s one dimensional, her strength is dictating play from the baseline, if you push her outside of her comfort zone and make her do anything else she’ll struggle, especially on faster courts. That’s obviously a lot easier said than done because she’s very good at what she does, but the girls that were able to beat her regularly were all able to do that. It took Azarenka a few games to settle down, but then she started making Maria move, making her play at the net and Maria was in trouble for the rest of the match. Serena does the same with Maria and with Serena’s serve it’s even more difficult.
How awful is it to watch the loudest and most distracting shreikers / grunters of all time. Good players but not sad Sharapova is retired. Azarenka will hopefully retire soon too..
