    Got a 2009 Yamaha VX Cruiser. Ski runs fine, only been ridden in fresh water and has never over heated. Is it normal for them to not spit water out side port when idling? Puts out a steady stream when giving it gas. My 2018 VX HO has steady stream out side port when idling. Thanks, great video!

    take a old steering cable and cut it about 24 inches from the end , if its the starnded cable type will work well on a slow turning drill to clean out the channels in block etc

    Hey guys, great video! I’m cleaning my ports on my Kawaski 93 750ss, wondering if you think it’s a good idea to use baking soda and water to neutral the electrolysis corrosion after digging all that corrosion out? Thinking of using a dermal tool as well.

      I suppose it doesn't matter what you use. The key is keeping it from continuing and that I have no idea other than stay out of salt and brackish waters to help.

    How much would this cost for a shop?

    • @hotheadzmarine
      @hotheadzmarine  9 місяців тому

      Each shop is different but in hours it takes about three days so you could speculate about 18 to 20 hours at the shops labor rate plus any materials in my opinion

    I had the same issue build up around 3 out of the 4 cylinders. Cleaned it out and installed a head gasket now I don’t have compression but on 1 cylinder that’s close to the oil tank 🤦🏻‍♂️. Can I ship my engine to you for repair and let you and your team get it right ? The motor only has 41 hours of run time on a 2007 ski.

    And this is exactly why you buy a seadoo with closed-loop cooling! Yes I know the exhaust uses raw water to cool it but that rarely ever gets clogged or has an issue!

      @hotheadzmarine  5 років тому

      Good Comments, Thank you. Seadoo has proven to be a pretty good engine but Caring for the engine I think is the problem. Owners are just not aware. The Stealerships sure aren't gonna tell them..lol

      @@hotheadzmarine Yeah, a salt-away flush after riding in saltwater would certainly make a difference but at the end of the day Sea-Doo still has them beat running ethylene glycol through their system instead of raw dirty water!

      @@lustfulvengance I agree on the salt away but we see a ton of issues on seadoos for overheat. usually loosing coolant through all the plastic cooling system and thermostat system, thermostat.. ride plate hose ends, blown head gaskets, broken timing chains after water in engine because water sits at the bottom of chain housing and doesn't move, fuel pump check valves stuck closed, bad inter-coolers, bad ignition coils, trashed wear rings, loose steering, bad IBR modules, Bad Map sensors, bad tops sensors, etc..etc... other than those items the closed cooling system is awesome..LOL My motto is if its Man made its gonna have issues for sure. I'd own 2 of each brand ya know.

      @@hotheadzmarineYes I agree! I am a professional auto mechanic but I also work on boats and skis on the side and on my own stuff, I own a non supercharged Sea-Doo Sportster 4tec and aside from the thermostat I have never had any issues with it and it has been Rock solid reliable for many many hours! With boats and skis, just like cars maintenance is everything! I am super anal about taking care of all my stuff and I rarely have problems with anything I own because of it 😁

      @@lustfulvengance You are 100% correct Sir. Keep up the good work and you will be on the lake instead of in the shop counting money out to others for sure. Thank you for your comments. God Bless You.
