Thanks! She's doing much better., and I think you're probably right about the stable. There's a few project ahead of that though. We'll see if it can survive that long!
Haha, Love this . Your daughters helping you building their own things like the Barbie things is awesome . I havbe a 8yo daughter myself and she likes checking me out when I am doing things in the shed . She is really fond of my 3D printer. My shed is waaaaay smaller than yours tho :) Keep going
I appreciate the authenticity of your videos. I would keep doing what makes you happy. Your people, your Tribe as Seth Godin calls them, will respect you for being you and those are the best follower to have. I’m happy for all the big time YT Woodworkers, who have upgraded to new shops but I really like to see the Everyman (Everyperson) making it work in whatever they have to work with.
Your comfort level with the camera and witty commentary show you are light years ahead of many y-tubers. As a very novice woodworker, I enjoy your videos regardless of style. Your personality is what shines.
I appreciate the authenticity of this. Thanks for showing a real view of your shop and not some doctored up view to keep up with the other youtubers. Look forward to seeing how you progress to build up the shop and turn out some projects.
I just caught myself smiling the whole time 😁 love it (I think more accurate wording would be melting as I watch your presentation of the shop tools as I am the same using whatever I can get)
These are great videos. Love seeing the kids. It will be fun seeing this channel take off, and it will. It takes awhile but keep making the videos just as you have been. They are fresh and that is what people like.
Im jealous of the space you have. Ive been half way turning my shed into a hobby workshop for ages and never really getting around to it but its only 3m x 3.6m. you'll be able to do amazing things with yours, you already do in that you're spending time with your kids teaching them skills, making projects they can keep and making memories that will last
Glad to see everyone is OK. It's nice content to see how the workshop is progressing. Like the others say, don't change too much. So many youtubers go into cnc and insane tools which average people can't relate to. Your channel has more than enough charm to grow far larger
Thanks! There are things I want and things I don't. Most of the big things are safety related, like dust collection. And if I ever get a chance to buy a Sawstop, I'm gonna do it. But most of the time, I just like my tools to work. And I have several tools I bought around thirty years ago that just won't die. I definitely understand what you're saying, and will be thoughtful if I ever get to that point. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the tour, dude! 😊 But my workshop looks worse right now... 😬 I showed it briefly in my last video. LOTS of stuff to organize and I don't even have an AC yet! 😂 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Ouch! I pray princess heals quickly and back to 100%. I like your willingness to show what most workshops look like. I have a 12’x32’ space in my shop that I do woodworking. Not much room after getting a 16” bandsaw, 14” bench top bandsaw, table saw, belt and disc sander combo, planer, small jointer, big jointer, router table, wood steamer, scroll saw, etc. then there are shelves, workbench, stackable drawers for fastener’s and small parts. Most things are on wheels and I play the Chinese tile game to get by. Everything is neat and tidy. Not! 😊 I appreciate seeing you work with what you have. Anybody can build things in a huge shop where you have 8’ of room around the table saw. Try it where you have to side step and squeeze by all the tools. 😁 Love your channel.
I've worked in much less. A quick word of advice. I'd like to be a two bandsaw shop someday, but your bandsaw is NEVER big enough. A 14" is wonderful. If I get a second one someday, it will be at least 17", and more likely 21".
I liked seeing the realness of your shop. Truth be told most of us that watch woodworkers on UA-cam probably have shop that look about the same. Thanks for showing that im not the only one with a not so perfect shop. Loved the video
Great video! ❤best wishes for Princess’s speedy recovery❤ I love to follow your journey, not only shop stuff but everything. I have daughters too, so seeing y’all doing all this together brings me much joy. Your videos are funny, clever, adorable and interesting all at the same time. Keep them coming!l I would’ve love to hear Little Bit’s commentary 😊
I love this kind of vlog stuff, especially after getting familiar with your channel. All the best to Princess in her recovery, great to see she's full of smiles.
I've seen worse! I was proud of myself a couple of months ago for getting enough clutter / storage removed so I could actually GET INTO my workshop... Video was fun. Best wishes Princess for a quick recovery.
I literally found your channel yesterday. I wanted to see this video specifically because I am in the process of building my shop and I always like to see the layout of anyone who has been doing woodworking for a minute - which is longer than I really have. At some point a few minutes in, I decided that you were likely in the DFW area, based on scenery in the background. You confirmed that later. LoL. How about this heat? Keep at the channel. Anyone who can comfortably demonstrate what they're doing and demonstrates their humanity about their projects is someone we can all relate to. Thanks again!!
The heat is CRAZY. I've been in Texas most of my life, and never remember it being quite this bad. In June (which was insane), I had no idea it would be ten degrees hotter in August. Now I'm hearing Winter is supposed to be really cold. I've read all your comments, and am so grateful you took the time to go through our content. We're learning as we go, experimenting along the way, but having a lot of fun. It's given me some great opportunities to share some of what I've learned with the girls too. Regarding your shop, I wish I had more to offer. The main thing (and I'm not there yet) is to have a specific place for everything in your shop. And air conditioning. Because c'mon. It's insane right now.
@worstworkshop Yeah, it has been painfully hot in the DFW area, and I don't have any HVAC in my building yet, so work there has been slowed periodically as a result. The boys have helped me with little bits of work here and there in framing out walls, running plumbing, assembling benches and shelves, but the heat definitely discourages them a bit more than it does me. I've got more of your content to catch up on, and I will do so. Keep at it. Your progress is inspiring!
Princess can drive here on the acres. Lil Bit in maybe another year! I needed that practice and didn’t get it learning to drive, so I want them to practice long before they hit the road, when a big hay bale is the worst thing they could take out at home. 😂
Props to you man. I don't want to show my shop due to all the "junk" in my shop. I'm having to build a few cabinets in my feed shed. The dilemmas of being a mechanic and wood turner, the local handyman, I'm not the only handy man in my location😅 but still, plumber, tile guy. Honestly, it sucks but hey, extra income, I will not complain.
Thanks for not letting me rot in the spam folder with all those degenerate scammers, fake lottery winners and opportunities to get an extended warranty on your vehicle, lol
I love your channel and these videos. As a terrible woodworker and fellow dad to 2 little girls, these are an auto-watch whenever one comes up! I'm jealous of your shop; I'm in DFW but in the 'burbs and working out of a single garage stall. I'm just going to continue to enjoy your journey until the time it becomes all Festool Domino projects.
I was in a single garage stall a few years ago. Every bit of space was very carefully utilized, and I finally got it exactly like I wanted it. Then we moved.
It is good to see you back on here again. I thought maybe the "wonderful" Texas heat was keeping you out of your workshop. I'm really happy that you have some a/c in the shop, I was worried about you having to be out in that wonderful Texas heat. I hope Princess heals quickly and that Little Bit doesn't change even a little bit. Please take care and have a great weekend. It looks like we are going to be back in the 100s for highs again for the next 8 or 9 days up here (about 500 miles north and east of you) so I can't imagine how hot it will be for you.
Thank you, Mark! Good to see you again too. I've actually been in the workshop a ton lately, sweating. If I can ever get my next build video finished, it will all make sense.

My tool wall is in our spare bedroom/home-office/studio-space, my mini-workbench is smack bang in our loungeroom, and my big workbench is under the house, exposed to the elements (except rain). You make do when you aren't rich. Get creative, your shop is 90% potential, 10% awesome. $0.02
I've been there. I went from a cabinet in an apartment to a shed, to a corner of a garage, to half of a garage, to this. I just turned fifty, so I guess I've earned it. It's going to be awesome by the time I'm done with it (I hope).
