    AWESOME build there, I would plant some water palms in there like in the back corners & something that will drape
    over the sides with flowers (vine plants) & you need some hiding places too don't forget that & I'd put some fake
    critters along the inside wall like some fake snakes would look pretty cool & lizards & fly's that would really make
    it pop for SURE then I'd LOVE to see what you did with it as well as TO it as a finished pond.

      In warm countries where it never freezes minimum of 3 feet deep, cold countries 5 feet plus.

    Nice work! I'm looking to do something similar in my yard, 5'x8'x3' deep. Have you had any issues with bowing of the sides due to water pressure? I'm thinking of 2x8 boards with 4x4 vertical braces and a 2x6 cap rail. The pond will be partially below ground due to the slope in my yard, so ground contact pressure treated lumber is a must. Any advise or tips would be much appreciated.

    • @Lmiller201
      @Lmiller201 2 роки тому

      How did yours turn out?
      I came here for ideas because I am looking at doing the same thing.
      I have mostly sand, so it’s easy digging. The plan is using 2x6x8 from heavy duty pallets with an above ground pool liner.
      I’m toying with the idea of just using the 2x6’s above ground and the ground itself as the below ground siding. I like his 2x4 supports which would be a small expense even with today’s lumber prices. Then caping with a 2x6.

    • @RuthlessGaming5849
      @RuthlessGaming5849 2 роки тому

      @@Lmiller201 depends on the size. Mine is 20' long, 8' wide, and 3' deep. Built mine out of treated 4×6. It's about 8 yrs old. Even using 4x6 I have a very slight bow in the middle. Water is around 7 lbs per gallon. Keep that in mind. If you want a decent sized pond I'd never use 2×6!

    • @Lmiller201
      @Lmiller201 2 роки тому

      @@RuthlessGaming5849 mine will be 2' into the ground so the ground will be bearing most of that weight. Additionally, its not going be any bigger than 8'. At 20' anything made out of wood would not be able to withstand that force.
      I think I'll be alright with my intended design, but thank you for your vote of confidence
