Most helpfull thanks, one of the best forecourt car reviews i ever watched "Still watching in 2024", thanks again, hope your'e still succesfully moving the stock👌👌👌
23 City/32 highway, thats some pretty good gas mileage for a luxury car of this size. The EPA gave my 2002 Camry 4-cylinder the same estimated mileage.
F10 is referring to the chassis not the engine. BMW used to use the letter E and then the respective number in front of it but now for their newest cars they use F then a number. The new 7 Series is an F01/F02 and the new 3 Series is an F30.
The N52 is generally regarded as much more reliable than any of the turbo engines BMW makes. The only real issue with it was the lifter tick which was resolved.
@DC89 While it's true new BMWs and Audis are starting to look the same throughout their model range it's still obvious enough to tell whats what. Also, it doesn't matter what other people think it's your car and you have to enjoy it.
i know but the l6 has 240, not 258 and the turbo 4 has 241. the 30i cars which are no longer available because of the 35i has about 260hp or so. not hard to do some research lol
That used do be BMW's naming system some years ago. Today, there are only few models in their line-up where the name is related to the actual engine size. I'm also a bit confused since kyle has called this a 6-cylinder engine. It's actually a 2.0L-4cylinder, at least in the german 528i-model over here. But the engine line-up here is very different from the american one anyway. All their excellent diesels are missing
Saabkyle04 forgot the 2012 BMW 535d. I think that's the best engine to this car (preformance/economy). 3.0 litre I-6 turbodiesel which produce 313 HP and a lot (465 lb/ft) of Torque! Please make a video with this version (if it's in USA?)
the 35i has 306hp and the 28i I6 hasn't 240 but 258hp as I said and the 30i had 272hp the "new" 28i has 245hp and I mean HP not BHP but theire is only a small difference and in Europe we also have BMW Diesel cars the most of them have a twin turbo like the new 20d, the 25d, the 35d or tri-turbo like the M550d, 750d, X5/6 M50d with 381hp
@DC89 Especially since they both have the unsightly hood cut line where it doesn't end in a styling element but it is much more visible on the new 3 series
Hey Kyle, i've noticed in your videos that some cars you filmed you mentioned the tires are filled with nitrogen. I know nitrogen is lighter than ogygen but does it make a difference in performance?
you 're right this is the staight 6 but they switched to a 2.0 4cyl twin turbo in late 2011 (november or december) the 6cyl had 258hp and the new 4cyl 245hp
I checked and it's not in US market :( Maybe it could be for 2014 model because now Mercedes offers an E-class before facelifting. In Europe there is a facelifted model with this engine (and V6 and V8 petrol engines and of course diesels: 2.2 I-4 CDI and 3.0 V6 CDI).
Additionally on my choice to go with a 535i, is that these inline 6 motors are pretty reliable, get good mpg, and I felt that a 5 series always deserves an inline 6. The inline-6 is also a bit lighter than the v8, providing some positives in the handling and performance category, and it is not as hard on the front suspension. Albeit, you have to consider the whole package of the car. Going back to the original models of BMW, inline 6 was their bread and butter. I believe it is still the case even with the other great options now. Also, I did not want adaptive suspension or the dynamic handling package. These both add systems to the car that could break, including extra features related to the shocks, and an additional electric motor on the sway bar. I wanted traditional suspension for less to go wrong, with the personal addition of shocks and sway bars with the goal of some handling characteristics that would be similarly equivalent to an M5 in sport mode.
I want to know about the rear facia. Can't you get it to match the rest of the car? I've seen white cars with black facias and it looks ugly. Iv'e also seen some that have a little lip that sticks out. Maybe that's a 2012 feature?
I don't like what bmw did to the E-brake will m5 drift better? The mid console storage isn't that good also the trunk has that full auto opening so if you hit it by accident your screwed and no spare or a thin spare. It weighs more than a 2003 540i MSport its slower and gets the M-Sport package which should only be on the V8 5 series or turbo 6 bmws IMO. I do like the Mpgs. OMG did just bmw drop a I-4 Turbo for 2012 528i.
It used to be, BMW and Mercedes do this because some of those numbers have historic meanings or so... Mercedes calls it normal high performance 63 models (C63, E63,...) but there isn't a 6,3 under the hood... It's just so you could say you drive a 528i of 550i so people know how powerful the engine is.
the 2010-present BMW 5 Series is assembled in Dingolfing, Germany Cairo, Egypt Toluca, Mexico Rayong, Thailand Shenyang, China Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia Chennai, India Jakarta, Indonesia
@slyguyaction I think he uses the same opening footage each time he goes there notice the same red f150 that goes by and his roadmaster moves across the parking lot take a close look ;)
Those numbers used to indicate engine displacement, but not anymore, since about 10 years ago. 528i's (F10) engine is 2-liter TwinTurbo that delivers 240 horsepower. Spectacular BMW engine.
One of the best car review i ever seen. Still watching in 2020
This car is absurdly well built and designed.
Robert Bidochon it’s a Beemer. That’s why.
Not so much with engine reliably but this one is the most reliable 21st century BMW

@icon5585
Actually no it doesn't. The 4cyl turbo is in the 2012 model year. This video is of a 2011 which still has the inline 6 natural aspiration.

Yes it is
my dad has this car without the sport package and if you take good care of them they are actualy quite reliable.
It has the rare Inline 6 cylinder NA engine in the F10. It was only offered for 2011 before they started coming with the 4 cylinder N20 engine.
2010 also i own a 528i executive and it has the n53 3.0 NA engine, amazing car even at 260k km

Beautiful car!
N52 engine + that ZF 8-speed are a great combination. Just wish it had better steering.

The N52 is generally regarded as much more reliable than any of the turbo engines BMW makes. The only real issue with it was the lifter tick which was resolved.
+Kevin only a fucking fool thinks the N55 is more reliable than the N52
the only thing differen tbetween this and the 535 is the engine, right?
HighMagnitudeGT ya
No, the engine, the leather, power trunk, wheels, and options
Those are some real wide-opening doors!
Thank you Kyle! :D Your videos are great.

Get one from 98-02. Way better than newer ones.
Kerby The Slayer no newer ones are better because they have safety features

no the f10 is a 3.0 L engine or the newer ones are 2.0T engines

Simple naturally aspirated six cylinder, no dual clutch transmission, rear wheel drive, not too many gizmos or gadgets, the best used BMW for sure!
i guess you mean the M550d. That surely would be interesting, but i think they unfortunately don't offer this model over there in america.
Hey Kyle, i've noticed in your videos that some cars you filmed you mentioned the tires are filled with nitrogen. I know nitrogen is lighter than ogygen but does it make a difference in performance?
Probably not
I don't fancy the power outlet between the cup holders. The sometimes slop and it could get messy or electrically shorty even.
