Marc I appreciate that you all do such a great job of editing "your weekly stories". They neither drag or get boring. I just wish other creators had that going for them!
We travel with 2 active dogs. Would love to know ratings on pet facilities like an enclosed play area. Is it big, clean, muddy, have accessories like a tunnel or some other play accessory? Also, any hikes in or near (walking distance) from the campground/campsite? And a body of water they are allowed to play in! Our camping adventures revolve around the sites and our pups! Thanks Trish and Marc!!
Something helpful would be to include the day or days of the week stayed for the review. Some state parks that are on popular spots, often lake related, tend to be noisy with larger groups on weekend nights. Good to know so you can plan to avoid or plan to participate. Walkability and bikeability. We love it when we can set up camp and not have to drive to explore, hike, get to restaurants, etc. State of the bathhouse, if available. We love having an RV with a bathroom but it's a good sign when bathhouses are well-kept. This park looks nice. It looked as if the roadways are paved, even while the sites are not. Paved roadways help cut down so much on noise and dust.
“I got this!”… the experienced RVrs mantra. Until “CRUNCH!” “Where did that come from.” Having been a commercial pilot for 45 years, you learn quickly that when you think you have all the answers, there’s always a new question just waiting to bite you in the butt. Love it when a DIY fix actually works. Our Samsung fridge had a similar issue and a similar fix… ish. Don’t buy Samsung fridge, stoves or dishwashers. Unless you like being a permanent DIY guy. I love your perpetual enthusiasm for all things beautiful. It always uplifts me to watch your videos. Charlie and Caleb in the same video is a real treat!❤
Great vid. We love Crystal Cove and Malibu. Questions we'd like you to cover: 1) How far in advance did you make your reservations. 2) Which booking site 3) Cost
I LOVE my 12 volt refrigerator/freezer. No way I could have driven 33 hours across 2.5 days to Yellowstone without it, saved me so much $$$ by not eating out and saved me so much TIME by not having to sit at restaurants. Driving 12-14 hours per day is hard, but when you are burning vacation days, you do, what you got to do...
I have always watched kyd. But I really look forward to Sunday. Been watching for about 5 years. It has seems like you all are like a family to me. I really do love watching. I am praying safe travels everywhere you go. God loves your family, and i do too.
Being a native So Californian, we just forget how lucky we are to live in this beautiful state. This is where we grew up as kids, raised a family and spent so many years enjoying what you are now enjoying! Pretty cool, eh? It’s so fun to see this from a different perspective. Love your enthusiasm for our home! We are going to get out soon and see what you have been showing us outside of Ca. So excited for our new journeys. Can’t wait to see the next episodes up the state. 😊
Do like the Newstate Nomads. Where to eat, what to see and do. How to get to things and hacks. Love watching their channel too. You 2 channels are some of my faves.
Great video! I appreciate your information on the campgrounds, the daily rates, family friendly, the amenities. You’re doing great and it was good to see Charlie and Caleb on FaceTime! ❤
People would ask us what we did for Christmas living in CA. My father worked Christmas so we would head out to Crystal Cove and cook tacos on the beach. Lifeguard’s would have dinner with us. What a life ❤. PS. No tents or uptown showers….There was a hose hahaha. And surf….water was never too cold
As an RV’er with a larger 5th wheel, I like knowing that a park can accommodate larger RV’s. Especially when it comes to state and county parks, they sometimes prefer smaller rigs. Otherwise, general hook up info is always good. Be safe!!
I think one of the things difficult to determine about a campground, and something I like to know, is how wide the sites are. We stayed at Elkhorn Creek Campground in Frankfurt KY and (even after giving them the size of our rig) they put us in a spot where our slide-outs on our "sewer side" actually extended over our neighbor's picnic table pad. I spoke to the neighbor, and he was so nice and told us not to worry about it. It was so tight we renamed Elkhorn to Shoehorn campground.
I’ve been a KYD viewer since day one, you were from Scottsdale, I was from Fountain Hills! It has been great watching your children grow into wonderful adults! GOD Bless them! I would love to see you add a link to the parks you stay at! I don’t have any specific requests for park details, I think you do a great job of covering everything. Thank you for all the knowledge you have shared! You two are awesome! GOD Bless and safe travels! 🙏💖🙏
My cheap fix is that RV oven door that won’t fully close. We priced the replacement or repair and it was crazy high. My wife said just buy strong magnets off of Amazon….. They only cost a couple of dollars…. Three years later we still have the same oven door. Wives sometimes save the day!
You guys are amazing! The terrace style RV park in Malibu is till my favorite, but who can complain about any RV parking stop along the U.S. West Coast! We love ya!
We lived in Fresno for over 30 years. Although we couldn’t stand Fresno or the whole Central Valley for that matter, living within 3 hours of driving to 4 national parks (Yosemite, Sequoia, Kings Canyon and Pinnacles) and the beach was the reason why we stayed so long. Hope you enjoyed your visit! Btw, Trish, love your cookbook and your lemon spice and sweet/spicy spice are my favorites!
In regards to campground reviews, something I always wonder about is availability. I see lots of reviews for campgrounds (say Florida State Parks) that are virtually impossible to get into because they are booked solid a year in advance. Thanks for your great content!
Marc, here's a better way to tow your Suburu without a battery kill switch.Get a small car battery solar charger at Harbor freight.plug it into the12v plug or directly to the battery terminals.Get a 12V digital voltmeter to monitor Suburu battery.I towed a 2001 truck for years with the key in accessory to unlock the steering wheel.Starting outin the a.m. static volts were 11+.After 7-8 hours driving, the voltage was always in the 12+ range.the truck is now 23 years old and only on its 3rd battery!!I put a solar charger on all my cars now.try it , it works. Retired aircraft mechanic and B757/767 Captain.Motorhoming 18 years.Good luck.We enjoy your videos.
When deciding on campgrounds, trails, showers, garbage, cost, views... and which sites you feel are the best with your criteria. Great video. Love watching you two.
Love the content. Every week is an experience setting what you've got in store for us. My wife noticed that you don't pop the rear seats up for Charlie. Oh, and I loved the Lowes music during the refer repair.
Great video! One campsite suggestion you asked for would be cell service for work. Campendium and Open Signal have been great over the year for me but a quick mention on speeds and service would be great when planning.
I’m really not liking the empty back seat. I remember you guys, way back when, stating you may only have 18 summers with your kids and wanting to make the most of it. How the time flies. Congratulations on making the most of those summers and taking us along for the ride. Our kids have long since left the nest but we continue to make the most of our time together through your example. Thanks for that.
In response to your request for input, we travel in a small class C with two electric bikes (no tow vehicle). I always appreciate seeing what is within "bikable" reach of a location. Also any great biking trails you've found. Tks for all the great content!
State Park review asks...we have a 42ft Solitude 5th wheel, so road in info, low hanging branches, tight turns, better sites/area for big rigs, road biking availability, laundry, local to do and restaurants would all be great info!!! Can't wait to see your trip to Sequoia! We are going in May.
24:55 The things I'm always interested in where it comes to campsite review/overview is: - price of the campsite per night - what's the ground you're parking on (concrete, asphalt, dirt, grass), and how easy is it to level on - size of the sites, and what services the site has - his easy/hard it is to get in and out of both the park and the site The absolute best park I'd ever been to was a state park in Wagoner, Oklahoma. The sites were full service (water, power, sewage), perfectly leveled concrete pads to park and set up on, for only $25/night. It was amazing!
Love Charlie like always. I think yall are getting another 5th wheel orr one them Mercedes van campers like your friends. I say 5th wheel because Trish loves her space.
We love our 120V Propane fridge. I get the attraction of 12V, but propane is so tried and true. We get you seeking 70°! We’ve been stuck in 30°-40° weather for a few weeks now. We should hit Florida in less than ten days! 😁 🏝️
Our caravan is 6 years old and has a 12v compressor fridge/freezer. It has never missed a beat and has been run on both AGM and Lithium batteries. I definitely prefer a 12v as opposed to LPG in our extremely hot temperatures in Western Australia as the LPG struggles to cool 20°C below ambient temperature. Good luck with your fridge, keeping fingers crossed that you have solved your problems! I have followed you since you started, for me you provide a travel show of America, I see sights that I could only dream of visiting one day!
I can't thank you enough for your channel. It is a big part of how I came to a full time RV life. Unfortunately I haven't traveled much outside of Florida but hope to be on the road by this time next year. Hope everything is okay with the boys.
Definitely like knowing about showers and bathrooms in places you visit. You already do a great job of telling about interesting things to do where you go. Thanks & Merry Christmas!
One thing that I would really like to know is some parks say they can accommodate a 38 ft. Rig or 40 foot rag but when you actually get there there's trees in the way. It's a very tight space. The length is there but you sometimes when you get to these parks you can't actually physically get the turn to back up the rig. So you can't actually get the size rig into the spot because you literally just can't turn into the spot. But the spot is long enough. Just the entrances spot cannot accommodate That kind of rig. I hope that makes sense
Campground info - for me, I’d love to see and hear about the dog amenities - dog park, etc.. and the immediate area access - can you bike to local grocery/coffee shop, etc. or do you need a car. You always talk about trails and outdoor/physical activities in the area - maybe rate the amount of different hikes, bike paths, is there a pickleball court near by?
Hi again, just a couple of comments on the 12v fridge. Our previous trailer had one, and it as well failed. It was actually within the first year that we owned the trailer. Dealer could not solve the problem, so they simply changed it out (under warranty) and gave us a new fridge. With our current trailer we went back to the 2 way electric/propane. Yes it is a bit smaller so clearly holds less stuff, but it is plenty big for two of us travelling on extended trips. 12v fridge was okay, but as you say it draws steady power. If you are plugged in then no worries at all, but if you do any off grid camping and don't want to carry a generator, then you will need a significant battery bank and significant solar array. Absolute minimum 200+ amp/hours of battery power, and a couple hundred watts of solar....and sunshine. No matter how many solar panels you have, you are virtually battery only on a cloudy day. That fridge will be eating up 50-75 amp hours of your battery every 24 hours no matter what.
Love Love seeing Charlie. to Charlie. Good luck on the refrigerator. Always fixing something. Great seeing Caleb as well. Trish and Marc love your travels as the views are so amazing. It does blow my mind that the kids are all adults now. 👍🙏for safe traveling🥰💯
Got to see the Blue Bird down at the museum. Husband and I went to visit family in Mishawaka, Indiana so stopped and did the museum before the meet up.
These are the great travel videos I have grown to enjoy and support. Anything including height and length of spots plus available sunlight and price sure would be nice. Anything else is a bonus as we dont care if we have cell service or not.
We have a pop-up (hoping to step up to a small trailer soon) and are always interested in the bathroom/shower and laundry facilities. Love your videos. Enjoy living vicariously through you guys! Safe Travels!
How kind, giving us an overview of the campgrounds you stay at. Like today’s beautiful job, checked out the bathhouse, tokens needed, shower, clean - perfect. Size of rigs that can fit, there up to _____ feet. Amenities, can access beach, has pool, playground, minimart…. Point of interest near. A sweet little overview, is very helpful. Price per night. You two are amazing. Love watching your day to day adventures as you visit the area. You are informative, what to see and what to skip. ❤🎉
You’re exactly right on the Southwestern Chicken salad at Chick Fil A. Get it with the spicy grilled chicken for the heat & the avocado lime dressing for the cool & it can’t be beat! Palm Springs looked awesome.
I was gonna scold you for being an Rv'er using a flashlight over a headlamp, then you showed it's features. I haven't used a flashlight in years due to the inconvenience, but with that tilt head and magnet base, that would be a great addition for me!! Thanks as always for your recommendations and reviews!! ✌
Last week , Angie and I was loving. The fact that you guys use anytime fitness. We have had the membership since we’ve retired to Keep these old Bodies on the move . No couch for us !! But was very impressed that they are everywhere we rv too .. Lov your videos.. Rod and Angie
Do you have their app. It's unreal how many there are. thats how we find them. I joke that there is an anytime within 7 miles from where ever I'm standing. Most of the time, that is true.
Amazing adventuring continues ..... * Hats off to you🧢!! But 'literally' keep the famous "KYD" hats on 😊👌. Caleb 'camera time' put a smiley 😊 on my face ..... Vista views of Laguna & the Pacific is * picture perfect parked RV greatness * 💌. Can't wait for the next loading of 'film making' aficionado (Charlie included 🦮 -- what a ham 😁 he is- old term slang).
We have been watching your channel from the very beginning..tonight you asked what viewers want to know about campgrounds /state parks..the ‘good..the bad and the ugly’ .would be great !..we have been full timers since 2015 ..
Never fear Percy will eventually be happy / confident with you lifting him out of the back of the Cruiser. It’s all a trust thing, our 35kg Labradoodle used to be exactly the same……now he literally launches into your arms, we just have to make sure we are ready to catch him!! 😳👍🐕
Wow, I really enjoyed watching your video on RV life! Spending quality time in nature with family is truly priceless. By the way, have you heard of the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series? It's a versatile power storage solution that can keep your devices and appliances running for extended periods during your outdoor adventures. It even has fast recharging and waterproof technology! Just thought it might be a useful addition to your RV setup. Happy camping!
Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts! I completely agree that spending quality time in nature with family is priceless. The Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series sounds like a great addition to any RV setup. Its massive capacity, fast recharging, and waterproof technology make it a versatile power storage solution for outdoor adventures. Happy camping! 🏕🔋
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video on RV life and spending quality time with family. The Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series sounds like an amazing addition to any RV setup. The fast recharging and waterproof technology are definitely appealing features for outdoor adventures. I'll definitely check it out for my own camping trips! Happy camping to you too!
YEA Charlie is back! Missed him! We live in Prescott Arizona and seeing you guys drive through our beautiful state is so fun. We have gone to Oatman a couple of times. The donkeys are so cool. They just come right up to you asking "got anything to eat?" We have an alpha German Shepard whose name is Sheba. We didn't name her. She was a rescue. I talk to her in the same tone that Tricia does to Charlie. I call her "Sheba The Diva." It suits her to a T. She pretty much runs our house which is fine with us. And just like Charlie she sleeps where she decides to. Glad Charlie is back. I'm sure he had fun with his sister (Victoria/Torie) but is happy to be reunited with his Mom again.
Great video guys.....welcome back to California. 1 of the places you might want to check out on the south coast would be Rincon Parkway.( not sure if you've ever stayed there or not). It's on the 1 in Ventura. It's for boondock camping. You step out your RV door and your approximately 20 to 30 ft. from the water. Hope you have a great stay in California. And as always hoping for your continued safe travels.
Hi Marc and Trish. I head to northern CA next week. So looking forward to it. As far as campgrounds, maybe a nice drive all around it would give people and overview of what is there. (How many sites.) And yes, knowing the condition of the bathroom and bath houses is super important.
Great job! We’ve hiked that beach many times and envious of that campsite. With our travel trailer, we don’t care for excessive (any) lights ; would love dark campsite (are there any). Boondocking is great but with only 32 gallons of fresh water; wife can only manage one night’s worth of dishes (clean freak). Fellow Arizonan; just built cabin in Parks. Hope to use some of your cabin ideas.
I may have said this before, I lived in CA before moving to Idaho, it is just a beautiful place. There are areas I would go out of my way to avoid, but the rest is just beautiful.
Thanks for the memories, stayed at that RV park in Palm Springs area 5 years ago. Nice and green at that time, miss the West Coast. Sacramento is our old stomping grounds ❤️🤠
Great to be back on the road these last few weeks I am sure. Certainly looks like a great spot to be. As for your campground reviews, I love the info we already get from you. Your rig is about the same length as ours, so basically anywhere you fit, we will fit, so that is simple. Serviced or unserviced sites are all good as well, although it is nice to know if there is electric, water , sewer. It is nice to see the price for the campsites, although I realize that can change with the season/time of year. as always, safe travels. Looking forward to the rest of this California mini series.
Love the Home Depot music 😂 sets the mood for any repair!
😂😂 i was thinking the same thing 😂
Marc I appreciate that you all do such a great job of editing "your weekly stories". They neither drag or get boring. I just wish other creators had that going for them!

I'd love to see a list of your favorite campgrounds and other locations you've camped at over the years, and why you like them. Thanks!

Happy Sunday everyone
The soundtrack for the fridge repair 😂
wow really like this, thank you for the great video my friend. see you
LOL love the Home Depot music when Marc got to work on the fridge 😆
Great vid. We love Crystal Cove and Malibu.
Questions we'd like you to cover:
1) How far in advance did you make your reservations.
2) Which booking site
3) Cost

Great video! I appreciate your information on the campgrounds, the daily rates, family friendly, the amenities. You’re doing great and it was good to see Charlie and Caleb on FaceTime! ❤
Great job sneaking in the Home Depot music while Marc was fixing the freezer fan! That was too funny.
The fridge is "fabulous - it isn't working, but its fabulous"... Can't bite the hands that feed you!

I’m hear ready and waiting !!!❤

Absolutely love Sunday evening watching your channel. The quality of the video and editing blows me away!
LOVE THE NEW “Nickname” had to rewatch several times to catch it 💙💙
I love the Home Depot soundtrack behind the frige fan repair.

That be a nice camp setup, an Airstream Tradewind, open the back hatch have the fresh air coming in over looking the sea
OMG that rear office
Loved the Home Depot motivational music during your DIY segment. Great video.
The Home Depot music was the best !!

Love that you showed us places you walk within the State Park at Laguna Beach. I found. myself YEARNING for more of that!
Oatman and the donkeys are awesome
We have met so many fun campground hosts. I’d love to see some interviews with them while you are out and about
Great idea. I really wanted to interview Jeff and Deb, but it wasn't on the checklist 😂
24:55 The things I'm always interested in where it comes to campsite review/overview is:
- price of the campsite per night
- what's the ground you're parking on (concrete, asphalt, dirt, grass), and how easy is it to level on

The absolute best park I'd ever been to was a state park in Wagoner, Oklahoma. The sites were full service (water, power, sewage), perfectly leveled concrete pads to park and set up on, for only $25/night.
It was amazing!
Nice touch with the music while repairing the fridge fan lol. Love it!
Love Charlie like always.
I think yall are getting another 5th wheel orr one them Mercedes van campers like your friends. I say 5th wheel because Trish loves her space.
OMG, Charley seems to be living the dream on the road!
Nothing like California; our home!
I thought I was watching Flying Doodles from the music at 20:40
The places yall have stayare so beautiful and I'm glad the fridge is back up and running. Looking forward to next week

As a traveller in a tent trailer I appreciate when you mention there are toilets and showers for campers. I use the water and electric when I travel.
I really like your 12v fridge and I am wanting to get one. Seeing how yours is holding up is a great education. Thank you for sharing this!
I'm trying to figure out how I've been watching you from the beginning and Tricia doesn't look any different!! You guys are the best
Thank you!

We've had some close calls with trees too. It's like cut the dang trees! Save the environment by planting a few more by the pit toilets instead! 😊

We out in California. We were in the northern end when you were on beach. We drove hwy 1 because i watched your channel.
The title of this video perfectly sums up RV life! 😂
Nice to see Charlie back in the AirStream! Thank you both empty nesters for sharing your journeys!
I like your Home Depot Commercial Theme Song playing during the freezer fan replacement portion of your video. Nice touch. 😊
Got to see the Blue Bird down at the museum. Husband and I went to visit family in Mishawaka, Indiana so stopped and did the museum before the meet up.
Fixing things and stuff and whatnots. I love these kind of videos. Thanks guys. I can't wait for next weeks video....
Well a lot more like is coming!
Fun, fun, fun. Welcome back Charlie!
boursin and raspberry jam... love it
You’re exactly right on the Southwestern Chicken salad at Chick Fil A. Get it with the spicy grilled chicken for the heat & the avocado lime dressing for the cool & it can’t be beat! Palm Springs looked awesome.
Love the flashlight, almost as much as the head /cap mounted LED mode light!
Good to see Charlie back. Would like to know in campground reviews if they are big rig friendly, like over 40'.
Absolutely beautiful there
In California you’re rv space on the beach was a place I could live forever… ❤❤ have fun safe travels
When you’re changing a refrigerator fan a headlamp is the way to go! Lol
Batteries were dead and I couldn't find my back-up.
was that the Home Depot music you had playing while working on the DIY frig fan?
I was gonna scold you for being an Rv'er using a flashlight over a headlamp, then you showed it's features. I haven't used a flashlight in years due to the inconvenience, but with that tilt head and magnet base, that would be a great addition for me!! Thanks as always for your recommendations and reviews!! ✌
I did reach for my headlamp first, but the batteries were dead. Triple A's are hard to stock :)
Last week , Angie and I was loving. The fact that you guys use anytime fitness. We have had the membership since we’ve retired to
Keep these old
Bodies on the move .
Thanks for always making my Sunday nights!
Loved this video! We can't wait to RV California in the future! Great Refrigerator repair! Hopefully that fix holds!

Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video on RV life and spending quality time with family.
I have to replace our fridge fan every year. I now keep 4 in the rig at all times.
Oh geez. Good idea. Not a good reason.
do you have a link as to where you bought the replacement fan? We are having that problem right now. Thank you
Thank you. Blessings
When you review a campground, would love to know how far out you booked and typical availability. Merry Christmas Y’all!
Would love to have some discussion for those of us with mobility issues that have to have more paved trails, etc.
