There is never too much anti-seize! It just shows how much you love your car or bike!!❤❤❤
I usually use a generic degreaser with a brush on the engine bay and then a micro fiber towel, last time I used one from Chemical Guys, works well. I'm personally afraid to use water on the engine as my oldish e39 surely has some exposed wiring somewhere that I can't locate . Great video as always, waiting for the next one with some wrenching hopefully! Keep it up

I dont think you should put anything on the wheel bolts. Otherwise it could snap off as it acts as lubricant while torquing

90% of all people know nothing about Volvo and so they buy german or french cars and have nothing but troubles. Most of these cars are not even
able to hold 200000km, some of them brake down at 90000 or less. If you drive a Volvo and take care of it, 450000km are no problem.

As long as you aren’t pushing water into electrical connections when pressure washing your engine bay i see no issue. I personally would use a high pressure garden hose.
Ive been fixing cars for 7 years and wahing all the time engine bays. Have to be carefull but its okey to do :)

Bra film som vanligt 👍 Bra att du gör saker i rätt ordning. Många tvättar utsidan och i vissa fall polerar och sen motortvätt. Gillar när du tvättar hjulhusen. Önskar jag hade möjlighet att göra sånt. Blir snyggt och dessutom får man bort smuts, salt och annat som i förlängningen gör att rosten får fäste.

I think it safe to wash the engine bay of a car like this Volvo , i think that an engine must be waterproof from the factory :D On my BMW there is a sign on the fuse box that warns you to not wash that part with a pressure washer so as you said common sense and awerness is the key. :)

On my 2 explorer 2000 model i used to clean with water and dishwashing liquid a few times 10:45 and both needed new alternators due to the bearing that developed. Also affer parking them for a year one has a stutter, dont know if due to the same. Nice cleaning job buddy.

OK, good job; Personally, I'd prefer to act on rust as soon as possible. Both on the wheel arches but especially on the bottom of the car, perhaps using a rust converter. What do you think?

På en modern bil räcker det med att täcka över generatorn vid motortvätt. Och sen självklart inte spruta med högsta tryck rakt mot elektronikboxen. En sak gjort annorlunda mot dig, är att jag hade tagit av motorplastkåpan och tvättan den separat, så jag kunnat rengöra det som finns under i samband med motortvätten. (Ska man meka, är det skönt att där också är rent).

Gjorde faktiskt lite rent under kåpan på "torrt" vis med pensel och lite apc så man blev av med det värsta. Filmade inte det dock, då det var ganska hastigt och slarvigt. :/
Nicely cleaned, satisfying to watch. However questionable paint job and undercarriage coating from factory when car looks like that after just 10 years. Salt is nothing new here in the Nordics. It has been used at least 50 years and Volvo shouldn't ever forget that.

Yes, I see your point. However, the car has done over 300 000 km. In my experience this or worse is how cars look at that milage in Sweden. :/
I am strictly against using the pressure washer to clean the engine.
the fenders are rusting I would fix that before it spreads and the fenders need to be replaced

Nice video, I am very curious, have the same, and also almost 300.000 km on it. It drives still very good and no rust, is the rust because of the salt on your roads? because I do not see it over here. We have salt also but less because of warmer winters. (The Netherlands).

Yes, the salt here is brutal and unfortunately it has gotten worse during the last couple of years, they pour salt on the roads even if there is no snow or ice and above freezing temperature from november-april.
But it also depends a lot of how well you take care of the car, if the car is regularly cleaned and protected it holds up ok.👍
My Saab (OG 9-3 B204i) hates water under the hood, every time I use even a hose very carefully around the engine it will misfire and barely run until its completely dry and hot :D
People who are scared about water getting onto their engine need to see under the hood while driving through stormy weather. Dirty road water is splashing and spraying up all over the place under there! Rain even comes through the radiator and over the front of the engine.. many cars have alternators down low on the engine too which can easily be submerged if you go through floods.

use APC not de-greaser in your wheel-well as that would dry out your rubber..
Jag tar alltid bort all kopparpasta tidigare ägare lagt på hjulskruven. Dels för att det inte behövs där samt att åtdragningsmomentet blir högre med pasta på gängorna. Skulle skruven gå trögt så läger jag på lite olja bara. Men mestadels så är det torra skruv jag kör med. 🙂

@johanloof2362 Åtdragningsmomentet är samma men däremot blir klämkraften (den längsgående kraften i skruven) lägre med ökad gängfriktion. Det ska vara lagom friktion för att uppnå önskad klämkraft och för att förhindra att skruven lossnar.
Det låter som att du har en sund inställning.
Exakt, det blir olika axiella spännkrafter i skruvförbandet vid samma åtdragningsmoment om man jämför torra gängor vs insmorda. 👍
Testa Mafra Cromobrill 2G på fälgarna. Blanda 50/50. Helt stört bra på fälgar 😂 Finns på autodude.

The whole undercarriage seems to be ridden with rust. If it's on the arches it is without a doubt already on other places as well. I see no point in cleaning and "taking care" of this car when the only real issue is the rust which will continue to eat way the subframe and such.
Yes, I'll fix the fenders. The rust on the underside isn't that bad. All mounting points in the body and floorpans etc is ok. 👍
Surface rust on controlarms, subframes and other chassicomponents (that you also can remove and replace quite easily) isn't really a big issue.

There is no such thing as too much anti sieze! Except on spark plugs. But chassis parts? Nope - no such thing! Cheap insurance to make sure it comes apart again!

Hej Ejo. Min fråga till dig är följande : att tvätta plugg in hybrider med vatten? Är det skadligt? Vissa föredrar att göra det med ånga som jag gjorde i höstas men Billia till exp kör med vatten? Hur ransonerar du?
Tänker du på utsidan då? Exteriören är absolut inga problem, jag skiljer inte på en hybrid eller "vanlig" bil när det kommer till tvätten. 👍

U are missing one piece in oil filter housing
Thank you for noticing that. I thought it seemed very strange when I changed the oil filter. There should be a "cylinder" part inside of the filter lid/housing. 👍
@@ejoautovideos Yes,that cylinder should stay in housing and you put filter on cylinder and then on engine. Sometimes cylinder stay in old filter and people throw it with filter

What on earth is all that rust? How did that happen? I have owned several Volvo's and never had any such issues. This XC60 was exposed to something quite horrific, did the previous owner live under water perhaps? Mermaids don't drive Volvo but if they did...

Say what you want but there are a lot of electronical components, gaskets, seals, filters and rubber hoses that might have degraded. Get some water near the spark plugs and next time you remove them you see that it's all started to rust. If I were to ever do an engine bay cleaning it would be with a brush that I dip in water/solution rather than hitting it with the power wash. Imagine if you managed to get some water in the ECU-casing. Rest in pieces.
It’s a diesel, no spark plugs
Modern engines get wet when driving. If you're forcing a lot of water into sensitive areas you're asking for trouble. Keeping a bit back and the water source moving you'll be fine.
