Really pleased you kept the paddy in the video, just keeps things so real in the world where UA-camrs tend to normally beautify 🤣
I was so ruddy f**ked off 🤣 It wasn't until after I stopped I realised my eyesight was shot, so it would have been dangerous to carry on 😁
What a slog! Shows how much impact the weather has on a trip. Glad the next day restored your joy for it!
It certainly does show weather impact. 3 very different days in the same stretch of water 😁
Lovely morning to wake u to on Loch Ness. the cam site looked great
Yeah that was a cracking spot 👍😁
So chuffed to find this series as my brother and I are planning an "up and down" trip from Inverness next year that will entail around 110 miles of paddling.
We did the trip from Shrewsbury Weir to Gloucester Docks along the Severn last year, which was awesome, this will be our next expedition.
Excellent, you'll have a blast 😁
What boats are you using?
Do you think it's worked the way I've split this trip into Stages rather than days?
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner My brother has a Galaxy Cruz Plastic yak and I have just gone over to an Inflatable yak, the Aqua Spirit Barracuda two man.
@@jannersstuff you'll be the one feeling safer on the water albeit a little slower 😁👍
I love the rant! Some days paddling is wonderful. Other days, with the wind against you, well, i'm nearly going on a rant myself here! Love the videos. Its a heck of an achievement. Well done!
Thanks so much. Yeah thankfully when we are able to coordinate with the weather, we can have more good than bad days. On a trip like this, it lands how it lands 😳😁
Love it.. ❤ looking forward to the next episode
Cheers buddy :)
Dores is pronounced the same as doors, so you were right first time. This is where the Loch Ness Wellington was lifted from the water. Now resides in the Brooklands museum.
Ah good to know, and thank you 👍😁
Does you good, a good rant, lovely lace to cam
Lol, good I needed that! 😅
That's so cool!! It's definitely a buckle list paddle for me. Another great video 👍🏾
Cheers, it's worth doing, once 😅
@MoreThanJustaCleaner I live in Minnesota and my friend took me on a paddle through 5 lakes. I had the exact same rant half way through. 😂
@@aircreed haha I'm glad it's not just me 😅
This must still have been great fun.
@@hntrains2 it's absolutely epic, but ... 😊
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner, that is how you remember some of these trips. And that is why you go out on the water again. :)
@@hntrains2 it certainly is 😁
And next!
Nearly there...
Thank you so for all the content. I have started my kayaking journey in North east UK 2 months back and have learnt a lot from your videos. I have a quick question using a tandem kayak as one person I see all of your kayaks are usually two person and you sail solo. Is there any challenges I should consider using tandem as solo or better buy a solo kayak? I have Aqua Marina Memba and Steam both 2 person but planning to use it as solo. Thanks
@@dhruvsoft2693 I'm glad you like what I'm doing.
Generally I paddle single person crafts which I prefer for their weight, nimbleness and pack down size. At the time of this video I only had the Chelan 2 person which I bought purely for this trip and spent winter using it to get used to it.
Solo paddling a 2 person craft is fine, but it's never gonna be as nimble and quick turning as a 1 person craft. But if you just want to travel in fairly straight lines it's fine.
Brilliant
Cheers John 👍😁
Did the Teddy that you threw come floating past the next day when the breeze changed. Only joking buddy. I had a rant similar to you when we got capsized there.
Still, a great little adventure though.
Lol that would have been funny 😂
Hey carl, have you tried 2 people padding in your Chelan 140?
What would the leg room be like for 2 in it mate?
@@markweatherall7437 I haven't tried that so I can't say, but I can't see why it would be a problem... Unless the legs are really long!
So, Nessie appeared off camera or not?
Let's say yes 😅
👍
😁
Are there any good canoe shops near me in ripon ? thanks
@johnhancock-x1x Robin Hood Watersports is relatively close.
An inflatable adventure. Well jeal'
It was a lot of fun over 5 days 👍😊
That was some slog and a well Deserved rant. Makes it real and not all plain paddlin’
No Nessie in sight. Hope the eye got better!
Thankfully my eye was better the next morning. It's one of those things I forget happens because it's so rare :)
Did you wear a drysuit?
Yes all 3 of us did 👍😁
I’d have been ranting away also! I may have mentioned it, but my pet hate is the noise electric pumps make, I’d have ranted at you early doors on that camp site😠 Have you tried wearing tinted goggles to stop wind getting into your eyes, my right eyes runs when there’s a breeze also.
I haven't Geoff. It's one of those things that happens so rarely that I forget it happens until it's too late.
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner I haven’t tried goggles yet in the kayak, but when I wear them skiing my eye is much better, it’s a blocked tear duct which is causing my issue apparently .
@@geoffknight7322 right ok... I have a tear duct issue too - the outdoors paralysis stops it functioning as it should.
I like sweary Karl 😁
lol I was so ruddy fed up, and it was so cathartic 😅
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner it looks like a fantastic trip mate 👍🏻
@@molsi01 it was definitely epic 👍😁
