      HELLO NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE!...I am 21 years old and I am having MPB too. Past 1.5years, my temple area have been mild receeded as suggested by my dermatologist. I have started medications 2months ago like derma rolling, rosemary plus coconut oil and taking vitamins biotin as supplements. The temple area is still the same, there are some baby hairs. But I dont know if they grew after medication or its the existing hairs that got thinned. My derma suggested me minox., but I dont want to use it right now because of its life long treatment. Can you please share your thoughts??
      It freaks me out while looking at my lowering of my hair density. Can I grow them back considering I am seeing some baby hairs(doubt).?

      @INSOMNI_A
      Well it normally takes at least 4-6 months for a new hair treatment to really show its benefits so I wouldn't give up on what you're currently doing if you're cause is MPB the most important thing to do to prevent further hair loss is to block your DHT with something like finasteride or even look into natural DHT blockers if you want to stay the natural route I understand not wanting to take a medication long term but it's just 1 pill 3-5 times a week if you have side effects just stop same thing with minoxidil I understand not wanting to use it it took me years to get desperate enough to try it but it only takes a few minutes applying it each day its like brushing your teeth and if you can't stand it just stop you could also look into low level laser if you absolutely don't want to use medication

    Currently, I'm on minoxidil + microneedling + redensyl + topical saw palmetto + rosemary oil + ketoconazole shampoo. I kid you not, this regime has grown more hair in one and a half months than finasteride grew in seven months! No sides, nothing. I've never been happier.

    Why didn't Saw palmetto breakthrough into your list ?
    Doesn't taking a lot of 5 alpha inhibitors affect the systemic DHT levels which are used by many other body sources ?
    In such a scenario topical or scalp level 5 alpha inhibitors compared to systemic are better ?
    If so do we have any options for that now ?

      If you watched the video properly, you would've heard him say that he's already covered saw palmetto previously, and that this list is in addition to that. 3.18😉
      Edit, in response to your second query, the natural DHT blockers are not nearly as strong as finasteride, hence you will experience minimal if any side effects taking the natural supps.
      For your third query, I would like to hear his response, from what I know, I'd say systemic is more effective than topical, but more potential side effects.

    What about Horsetail silica? It’s very popular where I come from, my close family members swear by it, and I take it myself, but I’m not certain if it does anything. As I understand, it dopes you up with the stuff hair is made of. I’m thinking, there is no reason not to give your body in abundance anything it needs to grow hair. But maybe I’m incorrect?

    • @themetaldudespodcast8136

      I used to take horsetail but saw no results. The ingredient you mentioned is called silica. But bamboo root extract contains a lot more of it than horsetail. And horsetail contains small amounts of nicotine btw. I take bamboo root extract just for skin and nails as I do believe it has made my skin clearer and nails get stronger. But as far as hair goes, I don't think it does much if anything.

      @@im_that_guy Abstract
      Peppermint (Mentha piperita) is a plant native to Europe and has been widely used as a carminative and gastric stimulant worldwide. This plant also has been used in cosmetic formulations as a fragrance component and skin conditioning agent. This study investigated the effect of peppermint oil on hair growth in C57BL/6 mice. The animals were randomized into 4 groups based on different topical applications: saline (SA), jojoba oil (JO), 3% minoxidil (MXD), and 3% peppermint oil (PEO). The hair growth effects of the 4-week topical applications were evaluated in terms of hair growth, histological analysis, enzymatic activity of alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and gene expression of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), known bio-markers for the enhanced hair growth. Of the 4 experimental groups, PEO group showed the most prominent hair growth effects; a significant increase in dermal thickness, follicle number, and follicle depth. ALP activity and IGF-1 expression also significantly increased in PEO group. Body weight gain and food efficiency were not significantly different between groups. These results suggest that PEO induces a rapid anagen stage and could be used for a practical agent for hair growth without change of body weight gain and food efficiency.
      Just google ncbi peppermint oil vs minoxidil...note the study was done with mice
