I'm an old Lesbian--74--when I was growing up in Texas in the 50's I had no idea there was such a thing as Lesbians but always was more attracted to my girlfriends than any boy. Sigh. Wonder what my life would have been like if I'd known......Well feel lucky in some ways--had three great kids, then found out and figured it out and was lucky to have had a wonderful woman lover for many years before she passed away. So---happy for these young women and their lives to come and all the young ones on their path.
Duuuude, when she started talking abut how she stopped reading cause she couldn't find herself in books, and then she read gay and she could read books and find herself in the characters again?!! That exact same thing happened to me just a little while before I realized I was gay, I live in Texas and don't have access to many books about people like me, so i still don't read much, but watching this made my heart happy and made me feel understood.
Oh,wow I like how the story been told,it's cute at first I thought Stevie showed Mabel the book because she's secretly in love with her. Or that June coming might replace Stevie being Mabel's best buddy. The story was told as lightly as someone should take,accepting to terms of how you feel without fear,no label and just tell someone honestly and enjoy time which you could be together.
I think that Stevie was secretly in love with Mabel, which is why she asked for her opinion on the book and how she felt about the characters. But Mabel seemed not to notice even though she knew that Stevie was gay or maybe she didn't feel the same way. I dunno but if this is true poor Stevie. 😳
amazing. i seriously love this so much. i can personally relate to mabel and one day i hope to meet a june. i especially love how in the beginning stevie’s head was on mables shoulder but got shrugged off, then later in the film june’s head was on mables shoulder yet mabel didn’t try to move it. i have so much i could say on this short film but i have no idea how to put it to words. all i can type right now is that this is seriously amazing and i love it so so so much. i feel like everyone who worked on this film will be famous one day. it was amazingly written, filmed, and edited. wouldn’t change a thing :) keep up the good work

I think this is really good, but it felt like you forgot about Stevie half-way through. There was no scene where Stevie confronts Mabel about them drifting apart and about how Mabel promised that she wouldn’t get replaced. Aside from that though, I think this is amazing for your first short film!

I felt like she did once...feeling like a piece of me was missing and then meeting someone who made me feel whole again....it was my ex best friend...she was always there, always made me laugh, cried with me, I could be open around her and she made everything so much more interesting. Eventually before I knew what any of it was I started falling for her and as the years went on...I lost my chance to tell her and we ended up losing contact. I don’t regret any of it though bc she helped me find who I was. So I guess moral of my story; love is strange and comes in all types of shapes and forms. Never be afraid to express how you feel, and if you find that special someone, never let them go.

This was great for your first film congrats! I would just like to give you some tips for next time if thats all right. Firstly, I think you should try to pay more attention to how to make the dialogue more natural, when writing think about how a real conversation would go like and what just wouldn't be said naturally, i don't think the entire film was like that at all, but there were some parts that could be better in my opinion. Another thing is that you should focus on the sound and continuity more, like in the car scene, the rain stops in every camera change, and overall the sound is very important, some may say it's even more important than the image so it would be recommended for you to work on it a bit more. Another thing that could just be my taste, but even though the editing was really good already, I would suggest you didn't add so many full black screen seconds since it ruins the impact just one would have and it could get a bit tired for the eye. The last thing is that even though the story was great and with a sorta plot twist in the end that the main character ended up with the new girl, I would suggest that the foreshadowing in the start that made it seem like she was in love with her best friend changed a bit. Since it was inconclusive if they had a thing or not and made it seem like she just abandoned her. Maybe if it was more clear that they were actually just friends or that they didn't want to ruin their friendship or something would have made the story much stronger. That's all, overall i did like this film and I hope you could take this into consideration for future works. I will definitely be subscribing. :)

I watch a LOT of foreign dramas. Japanese, Korean, Filipino, Indian, Spanish, ect. A lot of them I watch on youtube. And there is one thing I noticed about these student and independent short films by people from the U.S.A. Even at the lowest budget, the production quality is better than many of the foreign dramas I watch. My professor in Korea once told me that the USA's biggest commodity is pop culture/media. We bundle it up and sell it by the bulk Movies, Music, Games, ect. It becomes painfully obvious that when watching these films they are well done in a lot of ways. You media artists have inherited a legacy that is built upon each generation.

Aliyah Mims i felt that. i like this girl. i have for about year more or less. i told her before the summer and to my surprise she liked me back. we were happy and even though i’m young that was the closest i’ve felt to love. i think i loved her. then over the summer i started liking this boy. when i told her she said it was okay and then the boy and i “liked” each other. after about two weeks my feelings for him faded. when i told him he said he had a girlfriend. my feelings for her came back. she fell for this boy. long story short she’s dating him and loves him and i’m just there silently in love with her.

I would just like to give you some tips for next time if thats all right.
Firstly, I think you should try to pay more attention to how to make the dialogue more natural, when writing think about how a real conversation would go like and what just wouldn't be said naturally, i don't think the entire film was like that at all, but there were some parts that could be better in my opinion.
Another thing is that you should focus on the sound and continuity more, like in the car scene, the rain stops in every camera change, and overall the sound is very important, some may say it's even more important than the image so it would be recommended for you to work on it a bit more.
Another thing that could just be my taste, but even though the editing was really good already, I would suggest you didn't add so many full black screen seconds since it ruins the impact just one would have and it could get a bit tired for the eye.
The last thing is that even though the story was great and with a sorta plot twist in the end that the main character ended up with the new girl, I would suggest that the foreshadowing in the start that made it seem like she was in love with her best friend changed a bit. Since it was inconclusive if they had a thing or not and made it seem like she just abandoned her. Maybe if it was more clear that they were actually just friends or that they didn't want to ruin their friendship or something would have made the story much stronger.
That's all, overall i did like this film and I hope you could take this into consideration for future works. I will definitely be subscribing. :)

I watch a LOT of foreign dramas. Japanese, Korean, Filipino, Indian, Spanish, ect. A lot of them I watch on youtube. And there is one thing I noticed about these student and independent short films by people from the U.S.A. Even at the lowest budget, the production quality is better than many of the foreign dramas I watch. My professor in Korea once told me that the USA's biggest commodity is pop culture/media. We bundle it up and sell it by the bulk Movies, Music, Games, ect. It becomes painfully obvious that when watching these films they are well done in a lot of ways. You media artists have inherited a legacy that is built upon each generation.
