This is so cool to see you do this on your own. Would you ever do a video explaining how you learned to do all of this? Like your experience camping and how you got the confidence to do it all yourself. ❤
I’ve been watching and totally rewatching your videos since you taught me how to bleach my hair forever ago 😂 Never in a million years did I ever think I’d be watching you so on such grand adventures, let alone aspiring to go on some of my own one day! Would love to see a video about how you got started on this type of journey of outdoors living. Was it something you’ve always done or trained / supplied up recently for ? You have this ever knowing and retrospective presence about you that will keep me watching regardless of what you choose to share publicly online. Thanks for letting us come along for the ride ❤
i agree! would also love a talking vid abt how she got into this stuff and learned the necessary skills etc
Thankyou for all the kindness 🥹 and the fact that you’ve been watching my videos for that long is crazy!! I hope to one day make a video for people looking to get into the outdoors lol I wasn’t raised “outdoorsy” or anything it’s definitely something I’ve come into in recent years and had to learn about from scratch!
u doing alone everything 😭 is actually inspiring me so much 🥺
Thankyou 🥹 I just checked out your vlogs I love the vibes!
@@jennalexisko u did 🥺, means a lot thanks ❤️
After I saw your cycling video in Iceland. So I went and bought an action camera for my cycling. I hope there are some fun stories like yours. But now I'm learning how to edit video clips, and it's very difficult.
Yes it is… kudos to her… she’s such a good narrator… I’m sure countless of hours editing!
So happy to hear that!! Best of luck on all your adventures 😁 and yeah the editing is the hard part haha but so worth it once you’ve finished a project !
@@mhernandez4576wow Thankyou so much! It is way too many hours lol
good luck love from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳❤❤@@mhernandez4576
Respect for this woman, so independent and free spirited doing what she loves,
and a comment for a bit of a fun, I like where she's making the stew and adding extra snow for flavour !🍲
This is like heaven for me lady! I’ve been watching you since I was like 13, bleaching and coloring our hair haha. I adore you and also bushcraft/camping vids. I’ve never commented but I wanted to let you know you’re a big inspiration in my life, can’t wait to see what comes next for you, you’re dope!
Sorry I’m just seeing this comment now, I just want to say thankyou so much! I love that we have all that in common 🥹 I hope you’re doing well, thanks for checking up on my channel after all these years lol
More bushcraft camping videos please!!!! I love watching people like Victoria outside and hike camp climb. I have been watching your videos since you were dyeing your hair in high school. Please keep this content and do more. It's so peaceful and good.
🥹🥹 thanks for this! I absolutely will! I love watching outdoorsy vlogs/content myself so I’m excited to start making more!
@@jennalexisko it's so relaxing.
10:40 This is a tip for those reading this. Keep in mind to obviously keep the fire going in the summer or winter. If the snow and water are plentiful if you're next to a water source like a river, stream, or lake you can boil the oils off inside the pots after cooking. No need for soap or sponge if you boil the oily scum off and it's literally ready for the next cooking time because the boiling process also kills bacteria on contact. You're welcome!
only found this channel like yesterday, got totally inspired to get back out on my bike for the first time in ages (my legs hurt now lol) - just want to say you're awesome at these videos with capturing the vibe of a place, the sounds and everything, super impressive alongside all the adventuring, had a great time watching this :D
Thankyou so much, and wow I love to hear it! Have fun out on your bike, hopefully the weather is nicer wherever you’re at 🤣
JENNAAAAA!!!! Finally!!!!! Love the bush craft direction you’re going in! 👍🤗
Thankyou!! I’m super excited
Mabuhay ka! She inspired me to take the jump do solo biketouring in europe this spring!
So exciting!! Happy for you, all the best on your trip 😁😁
ever since i came across this channel i am just loving it.
I love getting outdoors but my favorite part is seeing what people eat on the trail. Lamb stew is a great idea! Thanks!
Haha it did not disappoint!! Turned out to be more of a soup than a stew though 🤣
Your video shows you enjoy what you are doing, and have the skills to achieve a successful adventure. Love you use all the skills learned in Scouts and Guides. You are a great mentor and influence. I have to work overtime in the morning. Would rather be winter camping. I'm going ice climbing in a month. Loved your bike trip to Banff and your Tour de Iceland.
Thankyou so much! And wow that’s so exciting! Ice climbing is something I’ve been wanting to get into over the last few years but I don’t know where to start. Any advice? I do like to boulder/sport climb
Ice climbing is just climbing with tools that put your balance out away from the face, like climbing an overhang. Get a membership to the Alpine Club of Canada - Calgary section. U of C has the Outdoor Pursuits Ice climbing courses, Ice 1 and Ice 2. I am a Alpine Club member in the Calgary and Saskatchewan Section. The Saskatchewan section always hosts a ACC SK Choppers beginner ice climbing outing out of Canmore, Nordegg, or out of backcountry Hostels along Hwy93, during U of Sask reading week in February. There were still openings, if you become a Sask member, but they fill fast. Calgary Section, generally has their Ice Review, ice climbing, between Christmas and New Years in the Ghost. Members also post trips on their Section websites. Hope that helps.@@jennalexisko
I'm so happy that i discovered your channel. The vibes, the style, everything is just perfect! :D
The best discover in a while
Thank you for having that channel, amazing content, keep it up!
Thankyou so much for this!!
Thanks for sharing your time out with us!
I have been looking for something like this channel which is made in Canada and thanks to UA-cam's algorithm!
You are so brave to go for different adventures by yourself! I wish one day I could do the same thing as you did. (Iceland has been the top of my bucket list for a long time😭)
I have been planning to move from Toronto to Calgary and your videos give me strength and encourage me to chase for the lifestyle that I wanna live. Thanks Jenna!
Sorry I didn’t see this comment when you first posted! That makes me so happy to hear so Thankyou! And best of luck on all your adventures, I think you’ll love Calgary (I know I do) and the proximity to the mountains/backcountry is the cherry on top!
Very well documented video Jenna. beautiful winter forest scenery.
Thankyou so much 😁🙏🏼
Love how you put this together! Such a cool adventure 👏
This video was lots of fun. Thank you. God bless.
Thankyou 😁
What an awesome solo adventure. Looking forward to the next one. Love your style!
Thankyou so much! There’s definitely more to come :)
Great Video! Nicely done. Going to add stews to my camping plans. 💪🏾👏🏾
This was such a beautiful moment ❤
I'm glad I found this channel. This is very inspiring and helps me with my future decisions when going out on adventures. Regardless of what you do on this channel, I hope to see more bikepacking videos sooner or later. Have fun and be safe out there!
Thanks so much and best of luck on your adventures :) hoping to do more cycling trips over the summer for sure! Have to find a way to keep busy in the meantime though 🤣
@@jennalexisko Awesome! Looking forward to it and thank you. I've been looking up cameras since your previous trip. Now I'm wondering your next trip. Don't tell me, I like the spontaneity of these trips. Ok, be safe!
This was dope asf! this inspired me to plan & go and do something solo
As you should!!
Just yesterday I wondered when you’ll upload next and THIS is an actual proof of manifestation.. BOOM a video the very next day. When I say I audibly gasped when I saw this video would be an understatement😅
Another kickass content as per usual. 👌🏻
Thankyou for your support 🥹 I appreciate a lot and I’m glad you liked it ♥️
That a was fun "little" adventure, and thank you for sharing it with us Jenna
Thanks for watching 😁😁
Pure beauty of nature. Thank you for sharing.
Thankyou, glad you enjoyed it !!
Awesome video and love the amazing winter scenery ❄
So nice and aspiring to see other people doing things that other people look at me like im crazy for lol. Need to try some winter camping next year. Rather cycle though
Haha gotta keep busy on the off season!
@jennalexisko you already know! Prolly gonna do a Toronto to Calgary trip at some point in my life. 🚲
Loving all the outdoor content 🫶🏼 I’ve been wanting to try winter camping but definitely need the right gear for the in Northern Minnesota. Thanks for the video!
Thanks girl❤ it was a bit of investment for the right gear but I’m glad to have it now knowing can use it for years to come!
Yeah fr ! Just gotta bite the bullet 😂
Wouw Super veel Sneeuw daar in het Bos 🌲❄
Cool, thanks for sharing your adventure
Yo! ive seen a lot of "dude" content. refreshing to see your content.
and yes those are lodgepole pines. !
i am subscribing.
Your videos are excellent!
Thankyou 🙏🏼 I really appreciate it
this is truly amazing!!! how are you not afraid of going alone?
Definitely still get a bit scared at times but I try to remind myself to stay calm and remember where I’m at and why I’m there!
@@jennalexisko respect🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Icelander here: The "secret" to the Icelandic lamb stew/soup is that it uses a vegetable stock broth. Also Icelandic lamb is usually really lean meat.
I guess that's the Canadian equivalent of camping in a Texas summer (where I'm from). lol. I'm not brave enough to do either! Cool video though. Shows you know what you're doing out there.
Texas summer seems arguably worse haha! And Thankyou :)
Amazing Jenna ❤
Excellent video! Respect from Taiwan. 👍👍👍
Thankyou 😁♥️
Nice one Jenna❤ the idea of cold camping seems fun..just wondering how to you find places to cold camp thats safe and legal
Thankyou! In this particular video I was camping on crown-land (also known as PLUZ land) which is land that you can camp on in Canada. I have a permit that cost me only $30 that allows me to stay in any one spot for up to 14 days, I also have a permit for harvesting wood from crown land!
Hey, would love to see more bushcraft❤ also I think since the axe is new, it's slicing more than splitting. As the edge wears it should wedge the wood a bit more. You probably have a better feel after using it though, I'm just going off of the footage
I’ve missed you queen 🫶🏻
Where are your jackets and overalls from? what material do you recommend for winter trips?
I'm not from Canada and i have never been to camping in such a dense forest. I'm wondering whether wild animals come to check on you at nights?
I love the vibes!! What do you film on? :)
Oh that's very much winter 🥶
“You Are A Strong Woman.
I Love You Already.”😊
I’d love to do this but what precautions do you take incase of mountain lions and other wild animals? 😅
I find the biggest concern in my area is bears (we have both black bears and grizzly bears here) but that is why I love winter camping because they are all hibernating! Of course there are major precautions to take in the summer like preparing and storing food away from camp. I do still bring my bear spray with me even in the winter to use as an all-around protective tool against predators, but dangerous wolf and cougar encounters with humans are rare, they tend to stay away from humans as soon as they smell or hear them because they essentially don’t know what we are, and consider us a threat. And although encounters are rare, it is good to read up on what to do in case something were to happen, there are different protocols for different animal encounters that ensure your best chance of survival!
@@jennalexisko thank you :) that helps
Awesome videos
Love your content! Its inspiring! What do you film with if you don’t mind me asking?
Thankyou 🥹 right now I use 2 cameras: the DJI osmo action 3 (they have the 4 out now!) and the DJI pocket 3! The action 3 is a great all around camera but doesn’t do great low light or close ups which is why I got a second camera, but I heard that in the osmo 4 they fixed some of those issues!
Thanks for a great video to watch Jenna 😄 I'm sorry if you've been asked this 1000's times... what camera/phone has this been shot on please?? Love from Brighton, UK ❤
No problem at all, happy to answer any questions :)
I brought two cameras on this trip: the DJI osmo action 3 and the DJI pocket 3 :)
Was now going to ask the same question, was thinking it was a gopro. Just searched for DJI cameras you mentioned and wow, they're expensive. But I guess that is what is necessary to get such quality. Keep posting 😀👍
@@jennalexisko thank you for a speedy reply 😁 it was shot beautifully, thank you for the camera recommendations.... I look forward to your next video... Happy Adventures to you 💜
How long did you go camping for? Was it just over night? This is very cool
Incredible
this was so cool :D did ya just go back home after that night or had another stop?
It was just one nighter :) I’m Hoping to invest in a hot tent or something though to make longer winter trips more possible!
@@jennalexiskoi went hiking in the snow today and chanelled your positive energy hahah, looking forward to see more of your adventures 🎉
Do you feel setting up cameras and filming and narrating make the trip more fun or is it a bit tedious, but made up for later by making the video?
I actually kind of enjoy it, especially when I’m alone because I’d be talking to myself anyway haha,
And it kind of keeps me company in a way!
@@jennalexisko Great! love the videos
@emilpettersson4509 Thankyou!!
What tarp do you use? Looks lightweight and durable
84k subs already. The joy of being a good looking young woman. Lol
Haha I’ve actually had this channel for about 9 years! Most of my subscribers are from like 2016 lol
I like your video❤❤
Who taught you all these skills if I may ask ?
Loved this video! :)
oh thank you, thank you, thank you, no drones, no lame jokes. I would forego music, completely
You're a badass Jenna
Pocahontas! ❤
You are so brave. Didn’t you worry about wild animals? Bears and wolves?
Bears are asleep this time of year (winter hibernation) and although you should be prepared on what to do incase of a wolf encounter, they are very rare. I am more afraid of people than most wild animals lol.
🖤🖤🖤
How did you become so comfortable camping by yourself ?
Top!!
What, no crocs this time?
You know my friend just sent me a link to these winterized boot-crocs, I’ll have to consider 🤣
Those trees are widow makers. Hopefully, no wind.
I checked all around me for widow makers and cut down all the dead trees near my camp! And thankfully, a super clear night with no wind 😁
Are the bears all hibernated in your area? What about the mountain lions? Those should still be around. I am sure the mountain lions can smell your fire-cooked food. The scent of the cooked food is probably giving the bears really vivid and tasty dreams in their dens. I didn't see any bear sprays or knife hanging on your waste just in case. Sleeping all alone in the wild with just a tarp overhead is kinda scary. The little fire is not going help much when the predators are hungry, especially when the fire burns down and nearly out. Doesn't help having to lug around camera gears either. But a thrilling night with the predators in the background, and all alone in the snow covered landscape can be soulfully rejuvenating. Watching you going through it does bring out my spidery senses and make me enjoy my low risk city life. However, It does look fun to be able to escape to the freezing cold, snow covered wilderness and come home safely.
Jenna, I would like to invite you to the Calgary Motorcycle Show. You are a Sporty Girl (like me) and I think you might like it.
wow, did the camera just follow you at 3:55?
Yes! I just recently bought a camera with a built in Gimbal (the osmo pocket 3) and there is a setting where the camera can follow your movements! Still getting the hang of using it which is why I didn’t use that feature too much in the video but I think it’s super cool!
Pretty awesome. How much does that sleigh weigh? Do you aim for light gear?
I actually didn’t weigh it. I do aim to be on the lighter side although with winter gear it’s a bit tougher. The sled wasn’t terribly heavy though! Not hard for me to lift up if needed
Awesome, loved your icelandic video, I didn't even know it was possible to go around iceland like that. Have you always been outdoorsy? How did you learn about all this stuff? @@jennalexisko
