    Thank you for the video. Unfortunately I find that replacing shorted capacitors is difficult without knowing it's value size and colour doesn't give the value. Just an indication maybe

    I bought Asus transformerBook tablet with water damage . After disassembly I found several ceramic capacitors surrounding the power management IC to be shorted both way , as the tablet is not working I can't trully check for heat on the IC

    if inductor fails,does that mean the ic is shorted and have to be replaced?I tested the two terminals on it and it made a beep sound.Thanks for the video!

    The capacitors are refreshed by the system, if the win doesn’t have any legal trouble. When the tray pops out, it asks for the win dvd. Each power plan has to be refreshed separately, by draining the battery doing nothing, and the mouse pointer is not moved. When the cpu meter is at 00, then the power plan is refreshed. The Balanced mode uses more circuits than the energy saving mode. During refresh, the fan speeds up. When done, the fan is at idle during the discharge. Fans having 2 speed modes, new speed modes turn on to make the laptop silent.

    You kept on insisting that if a ceramic capacitor is bad, then the IC should be replaced, like that was always the case, which is just NOT true.
    I've fixed a lot of Nintendo Switch units (Lites, V1, V2) and often times I would find a 0402 cap that was bad, but the Chip was just fine.
    All it took for me was to desolder the cap, test its pads for short. When no short was detected, I then proceeded to test the cap's ends and they were shorted.
    You really need to say that MOST LIKELY the capacitor COULD indicate a problem with a chip.

    the purpose of ceramic capacitor is to filter noise in the circuit.

    You are confusing me a bit here!! In a previous video you said that all mosfets are marked "Q" and any IC's are marked with "U", but in this video 07h51 you say that the capacitor is connected to a mosfet, but the marking says "U1" "U2" "U3" "U4". Please explain??

    • @electronicsrepairbasics_erb
      @electronicsrepairbasics_erb  4 місяці тому

      There are always exceptions some MOSFET motherboards are marked with a U but usually a 'Q'
