The site looks different now, theres no drivers for the setup and just links to joystick and throttle. Both have drivers but the file name is same. Do I have to install both or only 1?
I've just had a look and even had a look at the release notes for each, it looks like it will be the same so I would just install the one for now and see how you get on.
@@MaverickRNG Yeah just did that and I see both in Windows so only one needed. Had just first fly in MSFS and this is awesome. Have to work on my binds tho but have to flyu more and see what buttons would be best for what.
@@MaverickRNG Well, I had to remove Thrustmaster drivers because for whatever reason X axis was losing calibration and my plane kept turning right. I was sure I was just bad at piloting but later I realised the X is not in the centre when looking at the joystick options. Google said I should calibrate it but Thrustmaster drivers remove the option to calibrate and theres only test tab without calibration button. Uninstalling drivers just restored that button to the default windows options for controllers and everything works just fine without those drivers. Not sure if I should even bother installing them again.
If reinstalling the drivers hasn't worked, try a PC restart and plugging into a different USB port. May need to contact Thrustmaster support after that.
Thrustmaster have a default control scheme on their website you can download and see what each control does. However if you change any key bindings yourself you might want to remember them but failing that if your unsure, load into a Arena commander and test everything yourself in a solo session.
You can do custom curves in the Thustmaster target software. The very thing I tend to avoid with with stick but if need curves thats the place to do it outside thee game.
My ledt thrust master 16kM doesnt register. Right side does though and both do light up and indicate everything is working. On my desktop its all perfect but my laptop (gaming grade of course) doesnt seem to like it.
Strange, try a different USB port if you can, restarting you laptop and reinstalling the drivers. That's the only thing I can suggest to try and remedy it. Cant be the sticks as as you have said its working on your desktop.
It's been a hot minute but I had some free time and I tested it in every sense I could. Both show status as okay, both respond perfectly under the USB Controllers tab, and both have power. Star citizen doesn't seem to want to recognize the left one for some reason. Worth noting it's not hotas but rather duel joystick. Is there something wrong that I AM doing incorrectly?
From my perspective no, think you have done everything you have supposed to do. Whether its a HOTAS or duel I don't think it matters as if you think about it its just replacing the throttle with another stick. Should work the same regardless. The only issues I have with it with Star Citizen is when I launch the game before I plug them in, SC dosent recognise them so I tend to plug in then fire it up but as its recognising one and not the other I dont think that will sort your issue or maybe it will? The last thing I would say/suggest is does it work on another game perfectly? if not it might be the stick but might want to contact Thrustmaster support before thinking about replacing one of them.
@MaverickRNG I did a hail marry and Uninstalled anything related to the thrustmaster joysticks and reinstalled the drivers, did a few system updates and it works now, not sure what was wrong but I also swapped which side each one was on and it worked, the controls were all reversed like the throttle and the strafe but I went into the control settings and fixed that. Not sure why it worked this time but hey, I aint going to complain so long as it's working.
Do you guys still manually download drivers? For me windows 10 has been automatically downloading the latest drivers when I plug in a new device without any problems. I'm really surprised every time I see people suggesting manually downloading and installing them.
@@MaverickRNG I literally just got this HOTAS couple of days ago, plugged in and it automatically installed the drivers. Launched DCS, everything worked. Same with other devices, like Thrustmaster wheels. Just plug and play.
Yeah that maybe the case but I do like to make sure I have the latest and when it comes to Thrustmaster wheels you need to download the firmware anyway I think, I did anyway for your out of game settings. On the other hand for a video tutorial POV, I think its useful to show and know about in-case you need to reinstall. Its certainly not a mandatory thing but I just do it to make sure.
I like giving myself the POV of not everyone knows everything no matter how little it might be or how simple it is to others. Im personally quite tech savvy and yes its a straightforward task but what about the few circle of people that dont. You never know.
I know im probably stating the obvious or you may have already done it but have you tried a PC restart, tried another USB port and reinstalled the drivers?
Will have to play around with the deadzone settings in the game your experiencing deadzone. Lower settings make it more sensitive to stick movement and higher settings make it less sensitive (e.g more deadzone.) Hope this helps.
@@MaverickRNG i didnt have the drivers installed that fixed it it seems the driver properly guided the center deadzone config on startup with the hall effects instead of using wherever factory set it
I am facing a problem, in dcs some times the plane pitch to one side and then keeps rolling tried the calibration which some times work, after TM software issue is still there and now I can’t do the calibration, why it’s missing from TM ?
The TM Software is for combining a hotas hardware into one device for windows to reconise so has never had a calibration feature sadly. I've had to re-bind my roll on my TM stick because I think I have some drift on that hardware itself, you may have a similar issue. I've just re-bound it and dealt with it tbh.
Although on the Thrustmaster website (product and support page) doesn't mention MAC at all, it dosent rule it out as a no but I've looked on the X-plane and reddit forums saying that it does work on Macs so I would advice caution. Wish I could be more help.
Not really, you can use it without. I just have a habit of making sure I have the latest drivers to make sure it will 100% work without issues. Not to say you will have issues if you dont because I think some people run it fine without but the option is there.
Question, so if you update the driver's successfully as shown in the video, it should then just be plug and play correct? Would I for example be able to launch Starfield and start adding the sticks keybinds and expect no issues?
Basically yeah, i wouldnt assume no issues because they can happen but for the most part yes as long as the drivers are installed just configure in the game your playing.
@@MaverickRNG Sounds good. I'll keep reasonable expectations. I am kinda excited to try these out with Starfield and AC6 soon. Thank you for the info, left a like on the video. 👍
the only good video and UA-cam hides it... everyone else has you install sketchy bloatware and then spend 20 minutes telling you what they like to bind their landing gear to.

I'll save you a lot of trouble after owning one for awhile.....throw it away and get a VKB NXT EVO. You won't be cracking it open every few months to clean the Z axis pot.
Don’t get your gear dirty and you won’t have this issue. I’ve used this stick over a year on two different sim pits and don’t have any issues with sticky sticks or stuff throttles or anything.
I've got to the point of just rebinding the z axis to the TWCS throttle toggle rudder at the back, its an extra chore now I just don't want to do, and honestly cant justify going with another stick with how infrequent I use it but that depends what games im playing at any time tbf.
I'm so tired of videos that are too laizy to show the process. Have them uninstalled and reinstall them from scratch ... professional videos should be like that. I just hate it when I hear "I dont want to do that" "I'm not going to" then keep it for yourself and stop posting how to on yt.
I get your POV but I wouldn't necessarily call it lazy, my reasoning for not including the installation of the drivers is simply that viewers don't care about watching an install bar go across the screen. Yes its part of the process but its so self explanatory I don't think its necessary. If I was a viewer watching that (and I have when watching tutorials in the past) I would think c'mon get to the next bit I know how to do this. But each to their own opinion.

Should the TWCS Throttle show up in the Device Manager as such, or will it be listed as "USB Input Device"?

gonna be honest, a roughly 3 minute video for a control setup beats the same thing but it’s padded with 7 minutes of BS.
