A huge thing is recontextualizing the adrenaline feeling.
    1. "I feel butterflies in my stomach"
Your body is temporarily pausing your digestion to focus all of its energy into your muscles
    2. "I feel so anxious that Im shaking"
Your body is making you hyper focused on danger and giving you a massive boost of energy. You're shaking because you're literally overflowing with energy and power
    3. "My punches feel really weak, and my fingers feel tingly and numb"
Your body is numbing you to pain, and your punches feel weak because you usually measure power by how the impact feels on your fists and arms. If you're numb to that feeling, you'll feel weak. This is an illusion. You're more powerful than ever.
Basically, when that adrenaline comes, realize that you aren't shutting down. You're actually turning into a powerful fighting machine.

I don't know if other people are the same, but I don't get the adrenaline kick until the fight is actually happening. The butterflies and shaking are just prefight jitters, I'm assuming caused by nervousness. I don't think it's adrenaline. But when the actual beating starts, I get a massive surge of pain tolerance and energy that lasts for hours and hours. The effect is also way way way stronger in a real street fight vs a boxing match or bjj, etc. Even tournament stuff. I don't think I even slept for a day after my first big street fight. And it wasn't because of the broken off front tooth keeping me awake.

Thanks for the comment! Thank God I never got into a fight and I hope that it will stay that way, but when I was near a situation where a fight was about to break out I started to get these feelings, and despite being a big guy and having some knowledge in self defense, I felt like I couldn't even punch a fly and it kind of shook my self confidence in being able to defend myself or others, so it's good to know it is just the body preparing you.

Hey, I’m usually very passive for some reason. And whenever I act masculine and agrsssive, it’s gets read more corny then actually dangerous. Yesterday, this guy kept picking on me trying to fight me in class, the teacher kept trying to stop him but he wouldn’t budge, until another teacher took him into another room next to the classroom. I acted like the class clown/pet so I could be liked, but no one liked me, and they take his side. She even didn’t let me get water for a whole hour after begging her in a cowardly way. My friend warned me saying “don’t push”, trying to get me not to fight him. As a pussy response, i said “I’m not even mad”. We went outside in the hallway after class, the last class of school so school had ended, he kept talking shit to me, and i kept taking it like a pussy, until i snapped. I got so angry I made him get a two-piece combo to his face, and he was bleeding and shit being accompanied by everyone. Even when i went to an after school program, people who i knew there saw it and said that I won and started respecting me more. He did land a few hits on me, and he did actually hit me first. I couldn’t control myself while fighting, I had my guard down, and just throwing random punches. How do i control this so I know how to fight even in these situations? I joined a kickboxing and bjj gym recently too, so hope that helps.

just to throw this story out there about 2 years ago there was this kid that keeps on bothering me, insulting me and mocking me 24/7 he was bigger than me he was confident asf and i was scared shitless😂 and for about 2 days he keeps on bothering me and finally i see him face to face and told him that i didnt wanna fight him. fast forward a day later his friend told me that hes been talking shit abt me behind my back. i was pissed off and i came to see him and we both knew its going down he was motivated asf and i was there shaking because its my first ever fight. he pushed me and i puched him multiple times in the head until he ducks down looking like hes about to cry and that was when i realise not everyone that talks shit can back it up so the conclusion is.. if youre getting into a fight know that most of the time its not as bad as you think *keep in mind to always avoid fighting and dont overconfident if youre about to fight someone dont overthink it just go out there and kick some ass👊🏻😂

It's almost the same story as mine. I got into my first fight when I was 12, and i was tired of getting bullied. I told him I didn't wanna fight, then he pushed me. I stayed calm and punched him several times on his face. Then he bit my arm. And because of that, he left an opening to his face, I punched him straight on his eyes. He got purple eye for a week I think.

Very accurate about the arms. Feels like jello, think like you’re not hitting hard, and slow, but if you stress test enough, your able to subside some of the nerves and become more conscious of where you are and what your doing. Nervousness doesn’t completely go away, but does subside some the more you do it. Stressful situations are a great training aid but nothing compares to the actual experience.

I would rather think about the fight, think about what I will do, how to start it, what to do if the opponent tries this or that or the other thing. The toughest part is when a fight is planned and you have a ton of time to overthink it, you just have to make sure to pay attention to your breathing before the fight. Thats the only thing I could say.

The only thing I remember was how it felt like I was throwing punches underwater and after the fight he was bleeding so I'd "won"... Unless you continue to beat them after to bloody plump of coarse lol and then your in a whole nother legal issue. This kind of response is normal and controllable to a certain extent anyway. This "blacking out" is mostly triggered by fear or pure adrenaline. Fear is often caused by not knowing, so if you learned more about self defense then you would eventually learn to control your natural responses to danger. Eventually is a key word in that sentence. I would advise a martial art that teaches control as much as actual combat skills.
Then again its your life and your choice, just consider your options.

Why should you be nervous before a street fight? I mean, the best way to win a fight, is just to not believe that you can lose. If you're going to fight somebody, you just have to truly believe that there is no chance for you to lose. You gotta focus and keep calm. That's what I think. Of course you should know how to fight when you're going into a fight with this mindset. This might seem arrogant and maybe stupid, but I mean, if you're going to a street fight and you believe you'll win, and people can see that in your mimic, your opponent might quit before or during the fight. You don't only fight physically, but also mentally. Think of that.

And he does Maui Thai and is apparently regional champion for our region. We are about the same height same build and I think about the same speed, I think I have a slight advantage in strength though, We are both pretty big for our are (14) and we are both pretty fit as well. He just won't let up, I am half abroginal and all he does is talk shit about me and my family everytime I am anywhere near him, his friends including the girl I like sometimes join in, I Live in a pretty racist neighbourhood. I don't have much experience in any martial arts though I think I could throw a pretty good punch if need be. Once during and interschool game when he used to go to another school a brawl was started and in that brawl I beat him up pretty bad, but only because I got the jump on him as he was fighting another guy and I didn't let him regain his composure, I don't know if I could do that facing him one on one with all of his friends taunting me though, can you please help me, what should I do? I don't want to run away but if my mum found out about it she would be devastated, she has been working two jobs to take care of me ever since my father died and I really don't want to hurt her.

Here is a very good tip: whenever someone is getting close to you and keep pushing you, that means they are about to knock you out, trust me. So in order to prevent that from happening, knock them out first by punching them with a hook, then with the knee in the head, so that their nose bleeds, and then they will fall down if your punches are strong enough. After that you can just continue to hit them with your legs if you want or you can just leave them laying on the floor and go away. Hope this helped.

A really effective tip is to bash the nose in, it really helped when I jumped a trash talker yesterday; I am assuming he was not experienced because he kept throwing punches to my back so I buried my fist into his nose and he fell to the ground crying. Very effective video.

You are a fucking pussy. Jumping a trash talker? What a bitch move man. You fight when you have to not because it’s cool(even tho it may be) the point is that fighting is not for trash talkers. Save that when you have a real problem. No disrespect man

My first fight experience was with some guys from an unfriendly side of my neighborhood.
He didn't like me crossing their area, luckily only 2 of them there and not a bunch like they usually do when they drink.
The first feeling you'll get is fear, fear of not making it out, I was petrified that I didn't knew if I was gonna make it or not
The second feeling is adrenaline, I felt like my heart was pumping like crazy, with a sudden rise of awareness and the only thing I could think of was "I just have to hold on"
The third feeling was an unawareness of pain, I got punched in the face, my arms, sides, and jawline but all that pain didn't really matter because I couldn't feel it, sure it still hurt but I just forgot about it since my life was on the line, it didn't felt like good or bad pain, it just felt like a short sting
The last feeling was hesitation, I had to pull my punches because I was scared that if something bad were to happen to them or at least I managed to hold on until authorities arrive, the police might arrest me for harming someone, even if I am innocent and even though someone were to witness, those people would likely side with the assaulters because they're under the same neighborhood.
