Thank you generous viewer! I wasn’t aware of the Friday version until it was too late, and promptly forgot it existed. I guess I’m glad about that! My copies are OG US and recentish GB pressing. My OG US pressing was on nearly every picnic spinner I’ve owned since 1972 so it is far too ancient/scary to play! Still sounds like the Friday version is a potential improvement over some of the earlier 33’s. I haven’t been too enamored with the SW remixes save for JT, and think he killed Dukes of Stratosphear. Nice!
I thought the orignal version that I have owned for fifty plus years was sonically great until I heard the Friday Music version. On the very first listen I thought there was an issue with "the clap", a thumping sound until I realized it was was Howe's foot keeping time with his guitar. Never noticed it before. I have not heard the AP version and will pass on it; two versions are enough plus I don't like messing around with 45s constantly getting up to change sides. Good to know about it though.
Friday Music has always been an enigma. Sometimes they put out a solid/good reissue. The rest, totally crap. Very inconsistent label i all but started to ignore years back.
I went back and it is actually so really low level rumble in the lead in that was evident there more so than the other sides as it has the vocal only start of I’ve Seen All Good People. The lead in on all sides has a bit of that as well, but side 3 was most obvious. Whereas the AP was dead quiet.
I am a Top 40 kind of person and I prefer my Monarch stereo radio station copy of "Your Move" to any of the album version. They make it too long and drawn out. Atlantic Records' main push was the 45rpm singles. They'd chop up any song to fit on a 3 minute single. The stereo 45rpm radio station copy of "Roundabout" is my favorite version. Joe Regoso IS Friday Music, it's not just left to him to do the mastering. 45 rpm is not always the best speed to release an album on. Like Carole King's "Tapestry" album, ORG did a 45 rpm version of the album but the OG pressed by Columbia, Santa Maria, sounds better to me. I've got a 33 1/3 rpm version from Classic Records, but when Mofi did a single 33 1/3 rpm LP version it beats them all. To me Mofi's 45rpm "Tapestry" isn't as good as their 33 1/3 rpm version.

Thank you for the shootout! It would be great to see you do one for David Crosby If I could Only Remember My Name. The Mofi vs the AP
I’m not a Crosby fan so I probably won’t do that one. The MOFI was in fact their LAST true analog release.
That poor horse! Another great review in the book. Thanks gentlemen
Great explanation of the differences. I was always curious about that Friday Music version but you guys laid it bare. Great job.
Ron Beaudry actually has the FM and he said he found the same result.
Cool to see you did the shootout without knowing which pressing you were listening to
The Friday Music pressing is really well done. I stopped there. I have the original in the shrink that I really love.
Yourself and Brad are a great team! Hope to see more of the dynamic duo 👍
Thanks so much!!
Thanks! Had a great time!

@@bonesjackson81 agree. The Kevin Gray stuff was solid for the most part but Joe Reagoso solo is usually an audio train wreck.
If you notice Friday Music Label albums are very expensive and I personally think the QA is not up par. Thanks for sharing 👍
You said side 3 had a "off" sound! It could be a "drop out" in the Master, those master's even though they held up are pretty old!

Yes some single cuts flow well, like Roundabout, sometimes not so much. The Orleans’ Dance With Me.
Thanks for the info. Were the US and UK originals considered at all or do both of the reissues best the originals?
At least the friday music has what looks like a more accurate sleeve. The 75 looks a bit washed out color wise
@@hurkamur1 a link in the description has the comparison to those originals which was Round 1!
@@hurkamur1 true
