Voiceplay have some of the most creative compositions I've ever seen. Here's a few more videos by them I'd recommend: Phantom of the Opera Something Just Like This Moana Medley Mr. Bluesky 21 Pilots Mashup (this one is on Kurt Hugo Schneider's channel) Glad you found this group man. They've got a lot to offer.
So, the four big names in A capella; Pentatonix, Home Free, Voiceplay and Voctave. All a must. Voiceplay did Phantom of the Opera. You'll get a taste of Geoff's bass.
There's a whole story behind this video. It's kind of long and apologize if its already been told. However, Earl, the guy in the bed, was actually in the hospital and they made this video as his take on what could have happened to him. Laine was the sentinel of the underworld, Eli was Yamaha Nirvana, J. None was Anubis and Geoff was Baron Samedi. Laine's, Eli's and J. None's characters all wanted to take Earl to the afterlife but Geoff's character wanted to let Earl decide hence why there seemed to be a lot of tension between the four of them. Ultimately, Earl decides he wants to continue living and therefore banishes the three other death deities, leaving only Geoff as the last deity he faces up to (which is probably why Geoff has the smug look on his face as opposed to the other three who looked frightened or concerned)
For what it's worth, it introduced them all in the beginning, they are various gods of death and whatnot from mythology. What they are holding and to a certain extent what they are doing is based around that.
@@tatewakinew No, they were delving into other religions. I didn't see Christianity here unless it was the Caribbean variety. J None was the Egyptian God of the Dead weighing his heart against a feather.
I’d recommend their live Sing Off Tour version of Road Trip. It’s bloody hilarious 😂 😂 😂 Edit: you’re not totally mental. Voiceplay were indeed on the Sing Off the same year as a Home Free, so yes, that was Earl (guy in the bed) you saw in the Home Free clip. Little fun fact - the guy holding his hand when the screen is all white is his real life partner!
Distracted by what ? Sorry you didn't know how to follow the video. Sometimes it takes a few times of watching it to really know what's going on with the story. They are known as The Theater Kids of Acapella. They love acting out a story along with their singing.
Something else I got from this video was that it was Earl's last music video so I also took it as a good bye to him from Voiceplay. I took it as we're sad to see you go, but we'll be ok don't worry about us. I love the two fold meaning it had.
So so happy. You did this man. These guys are personaply my favourite of the acapella groups. Ill admit thats mostly because of their bass Geoff. Id highly suggest their newest video just out today "Tennesse whiskey". I already think it may be their best video.
4:23 there's like a near 200 comment thread on the original video theorizing this, and it's great. Near as i can tell, Anubis is wanting the subject to pass on to a good afterlife, Guardian is there to act as a mediator/bailif, Yama Nirvana is there to try and get one over on BAron, and Baron is the only one interested in letting the subject himself decide what happens. the comment thread goes into it a lot more in depth.
They are 4 of the dark angels that get him to the other side. His spouse put the gold coin around his neck so he could pay the tolls. VoicePlay was on the same season as Home Free. VP also did 2 tours with Sing-Off and a couple of good ones from the tours are Road Trip (get the one with 9 mil views) and the full Chicken Song (the one with Tony Wakim before he and Layne bought PattyCake Studios.)
Thanks for taking the suggestion!! Some other songs I'd recommend are Tennessee Whiskey (their newest one!), Talk Dirty, and their Twenty Pilots Mashup (On KHS's channel). If you want to see some hilarious collaboration between Voiceplay and Home Free, they collaborated to make Survivor. Glad you enjoyed them!
As already noted - yes, Voiceplay (feat. Honey Larochel) was on season 4 of The Sing-Off. Voiceplay (feat. Emoni from another Sing-Off group - Ten) also did the Sing-Off Tour with Filharmonic and winners Home Free. Season 4 finalists: 1 Home Free; 2 Vocal Rush (HS kids from Oakland); 3 Filharmonic; 4 Voiceplay. Voiceplay is complete with its 5 core members (as proved by this 'Queen' medley. But they often feature a 6th voice - mostly talented sopranos. My personal favorite is Rachel Potter (epic audition of 'Somebody to Love' launched her on X-Factor USA 2013). Rachel is also featured on a Voctave 'Wicked' medley (Rachel likely met Voctave members during her time as a Disney Princess vocalist). Voiceplay is simply too talented, creative, and FUN to not make your regular reaction list. I first saw their 'Roadtrip' performed live on The Sing-Off Tour: Hilarious! Don't miss it.
The guy in hospital is dying and they took characters from egyptian mythos. The weighing of the heart was what got you in heaven. If it was lighter than a feather you were in.
I've just found your channel and if i could I'd like to recommend a few videos/people to react to. More voiceplay would be fantastic, there Moana video is amazing, so is there panic at the disco video. Caleb hyles is an amazing singer who is on UA-cam, his Imagine Dragons beliver video is amazing, so is his Do You Hear The People Sing video. Jonathan young is again an amazing singer on UA-cam, I'd recommend his Hellfire cover and his original song Bait. The collaborations between Caleb and Jon are some of the best music videos on UA-cam, Playing with the big boys now is amazing, so is the plagues, and there wolf in sheeps clothing is also very good. And finally I've got to recommend Brendon Urie (aka panic at the disco) the video done by popcrush of his best vocals is an amazing show of what he can even if it's not very up to date. Sorry for the mammoth essay of a comment
Check out Voiceplay's "This is Halloween" for your Halloween this year. Or just for any reason! And all their other vids as well, I also recommend closing your eyes and listening to Queen in 5 Minutes with HEADPHONES. Another suggested artist "Paint" (AKA Jon Cozart, of "After Ever After" fame, also a must-watch) collaborating with Voctave for their Halloween "Grim Grinning Ghosts" video...it is an awesome mash-up. I also recommend Peter Hollens and Whitney Avalon's "Epic Disney Villains Medley." Or anything else by them, really.
I would love to see your reaction to daddy sang bass covered by voiceplay! I can just tell you that voiceplay got 5th place in the season where home free won
I think they are talented but they do not elicit the same feeling, for me, that PTX & HF do. I'm not really sure why. Just personal preference, I guess. I still enjoyed your reaction.
its funny voiceplay was one of the worst groups on the sing off , i was shocked they made it as far as they did before they were sent home. it seems they have improved since then as people seem to like them. the guys were great the female in the group was not so good on the show. edit: I only recognize two of those people from the show and they are the only ones that were decent lol so now when i hear their name i won't think of the awfulness that was their sing off performances lol
Actually the only differences between now and the show is that Tony left and was replaced by J None, and they ditched Honey (the girl) though they only brought her on to do the show, she wasn't a part of the group before that.
Geoff’s vocal range is insane, this video really flaunts it, he’s so good at what he does.
Voiceplay have some of the most creative compositions I've ever seen. Here's a few more videos by them I'd recommend:
Phantom of the Opera
Something Just Like This
Moana Medley

WORD!
David Harman mmm idk about that one for bass maybe 21p or death of a bachelor definitely the end of white Christmas with the g1
mission jingle bells will give you a teaser of Geoff's true potential.
Or the oogie boogie song
I would since add the Bass Gang.
The 4 guys walking around were Gods of Death from different religions/mythologies

Lol, yeah I saw that in editing.
@@PatrolNation Someone in the original videos comment sections has a good theory based on the mythology of The Baron (Geoff the bassist).
@@leahsmith4813 For me he looks like a mix of Michael the gatekeeper and Satan the accuser/punisher.

I was distracted the whole video.

Okay, I never heard that before! I actually really like that theory.
And seeing the necklace hangin on his chest reminded the subject of his husband and he decided he wanted to go back to living.

ooggie booggie man by voice play
Usually I don't like any other version of Queen's songs but I must admit this is good!
VOICEPLAY is another god group.. Yes! VOICEPLAY was on the same season of the Sing-Off as HOME FREE
The guy in hospital is dying and they took characters from egyptian mythos. The weighing of the heart was what got you in heaven. If it was lighter than a feather you were in.
Close, only anubis is Egyption mythos. Loki is Norse. I think one of the other two is Celtic. I am not sure what the last is.
That gives me chills, every time I watch it!!! Love it!
I Can't Make You Love Me, It Ain't Me, Attention, Wicked

Been suggesting:
- Oh Holy Night (feat. Rachel Potter) by VoicePlay
- Scars to your beautiful/ All time low by VoicePlay
a mini musical!
Voice play is like a home free. Very very good. Please check out them doing Tennessee whisky

Yes, they were on the singoff at the same time as home free.
He did not die in the end, he woke up. 💕
I think he looked down at the pendant his husband gave him and decided to fight to return back to him.
A birb!!!
If you ever head into Classical territory, go for Voces8. They are magnificent!
Ha. Birb.
Check out their Bridge Over Troubled Water or their Phantom of the Opera
yes they were on the sing off with home free
They where on the same season that was with home free
Pretty cool!!
Just watched utube Beth Hart - crashing down at the palest 2013 . liking her older stuff when she's on her keyboards......
It has been a while since this video came out. Is VoicePlay going to make another appearance on the channel?
Anyone know what the intro song is?
