    The internet exists for a reason.... Utilize it before saying "hip hop is dead" just because of what's being played on the radio
    There is nothing wrong with what's being played on the radio IMO
    My only issue is the lack of BALANCE
    Kendrick Lamar even confesses this
    Mainstream music needs the perfect balance of all sounds
    I love Trinidad James, but I also love Gang Starr
    I love Travis Scott, but I also love MF Doom
    I love Migos, but I also love Wu Tang Clan
    I love OG Maco, but I also love Mos Def
    I love Rick Ross, but I also love Rakim
    The list goes on
    I don't wanna here the SAME type of sound 24/7
    The same principle applies to conscious records
    I don't wanna hear records like "Brenda's got a baby" 24/7
    Radio NEEDS to achieve balance in order to push the culture forward

      How can u like trinidad james then be a fan of gangstarr? You must have skipped those interludes on the gangstarr albums where dj premier would diss fake mc's. You really sounded crazy by saying your a maclemore fan bro.

    • @Mr.Taylor56
      @Mr.Taylor56 9 років тому +4

      Orashi "Radio NEEDS to achieve balance in order to push the culture forward"
      Radio and TV do not push the culture forward. The PEOPLE create it and push it forward. Those two mediums only broadcast the sounds and images without context. Without first-hand knowledge and experience, they are irrelevant to the culture of the people living it.

    • @HypnoticHollywood
      @HypnoticHollywood 9 років тому

      noble 1 Before Macklemore caught on with the mainstream, he had songs on his early mixtapes where he's talking about Afrika Bambaataa and other true school hip hop shit, also Thrift Shop and Can't Hold Us are great songs...So why is someone crazy for saying they are a Macklemore fan...because he's smart enough to make songs that are accessible by the masses?
      Also, I'm a fan of Trinidad James and Gangstarr too...Trinidad's first CD is straight fire (an MC doesn't need lyrical gymnastics to make good music, just look at Too Short). What did you think of his CD? You can't say because your prejudice probably kept you from even listening to it. There's nothing to qualify James as being a 'fake MC', he's just new to MC'ing and building his talent.

These days anyone can be made into a star if you put money behind them and pay the media to say they are hot, keep their face out there, or write articles saying their music is good. People are THAT stupid today. They dont think for themselves, so they will follow or check for anything that media puts attention on. They will buy into ideals, purchase shit, and support anything given the illusion of being done or liked by everyone else. Shit makes me sick and is disgusting.

      Notorious Juan you really don't know hip hop if you think Slick Rick and Shine are wack. Am old school so am not into Drake that much but I can't even give it to you on Drake either. Cuz the guy is very well making an impact on hip hop.

    Hip-hop is alive and well, and as strong as it's ever been. It's rap music that is dying. It got messed up in the early 2000s when record labels starting looking for the best entrepreneurs instead of the best MCs. You had to be able to move units on your own and create your own buzz via avenues like MySpace before they would sign you. If you could do that, you would get signed no matter how bad your music was. If you couldn't do that, they wouldn't sign you no matter how how you were. Trust me, I know. I had a label interested, and when I was in the CEO's office, he showed me a MySpace page of a group of white boys that had mad views that he wanted to sign. They reminded me of the Hip-hop Dalmatians from "Brown Sugar" and I felt like Taye Diggs and Mos Def.
