Kool G. Rap is a pioneer. Lord Jamar was part of a group of pioneers. The kicker is Kool G. Rap still makin legit records, Sadat X still makin legit records, Grand Puba's style still holds up. Jamar well he talks on vlad tv
See when Lord Jamar here real rap Legends, like this say in so many words. Eminem is not a guest in hip hop. Jamar gets real upset and angry as you can see how he scream and yell on VladTV, and he's still talking about it in 2019 it makes him very, very, angry
Yo, Lord J one of the pioneers too. I ain't wit all his views on everything like everyone else in the world vice versa whatevs. It's kinda crazy to a point to hear him talk like that bout the boy Em, who obvi sick wit it no doubt. IDK man, don't put too much into that shit how I feel cause it's the same as everybody havin they own opinion bout all shit. I like my fish whole baked wit citrus and you like it fried. Do it even fuckin matter for real?
I’m a rock/metal fan and I do listen to hip hop as well and I’m Mexican. I don’t like it when race becomes an issue in music! Music is for everyone no matter what genre!
BALGN when are people like you got stop being ignorant fuck tards? No one’s claiming any genre. Saying it’s for everyone isn’t claiming it. Cry why don’t you 😢 😂
It’s because Jamar is a racist. He IS what he hates most about the white man lol he’s a hypocritical crack head and what he has to say about hip hop shouldn’t be relevant. If a hip hop legend like G Rap can say Em belongs, then Em belongs.
As black people we get offended by things that are not even offensive. Rap music started in the black community which is obvious we all know this. Nowadays, rap music is for everyone and that is a good thing. Forget your race if your music is dope that's all that should matter.
I agree, I didn't say everybody couldn't listen to everything. It doesn't make sense. Of course black people founded hiphop, but it's about equality now. So listen to whatever.
codys world lmao no white boy is rapping better then G Rap. Also look at and picture of all the hip hop greats. Compare how many whites there are to blacks, dumbass
Hip Hop before brand nubian even fuckin existed was graffiti, breakdancing, rhyming and djing.all a mix of white, black and spanish people, just watch style wars ffs.
Anthony Salcedo Yep! White people (and a host of other cultures) were making contributions to hip hop for almost a decade before anyone knew what Brand Nubian was!
thats wrong, seen from style wars said that was all made up during the documentary. they wanted to do a documentary on dancing but didnt have enough footage and thats when they formed all the elements of merging graffiti etc was just to make a full film.
necro is real ...dope emcee with a cult following all over the world and his independent game is on point....great artwork and presentation and dope shows....He loves what he does...nothing but respect
I agree with Kool G Rap because even though hip hop was created by the black youth up in the Bronx back in 1973, over the years, hip hop has become universal and many people of different nationalities are embracing it, especially those who are underground hip hop fanatics.
@@allanreese2761 not Spanish, whites contribution to hip hop has always been more white then Latino by far. Def Jam was invented by Rick Rubin " Jewish " and Russle " Black " there was no Juan!
@@anthonyarcanumsanctumregnu9551 lol wtf are you talking about thats making it main stream and they did it to make money and fuck the artist out of money lol he was talking about how it originally started you simpleton.
Latinos in hip hop is like blood in the heart. You got no hip hop without Latinos and black people, g. But props to the white boys but you can't be saying Latinos ain't been in the game. The fuck is wrong with you, dawg?
let's keep it real these white kids have way more respect for the art form of hip hop than most of today's black kids ..shit to be real I've had white kids tell me about up and coming under ground black rappers that I've never heard of ...they pay more attention to the art not the bling..that's why under ground rappers can tour in places like Germany or Russia
white people respect real lycrical cat's. black kids are more into beats then cat's spitting real shit. my black friend don't understand when I play them big L and kool g. they then put on something like floridia or t pain something they can dance too
thats not the original reason, he was pissed because during the myspace days before vlad tv, vlad was making a mixtape and necro had atrack with a million plays that he wanted to give vlad to use. vlad said he wasnt feeling it and basically dropped the idea of having necro on it. the title was the second beef
If Kool G Rap, says hip-hop is universal, then that pretty much shits on what jamar or anyone has to say! Everyone saying that rap is a black thing and white people are "guests" and you have to respect the originators etc. But heres an originator, fucking KOOL G RAP, a pioneer and one of the most influential rappers of all time, saying thats not the case! and he disagrees with jamar. He's not the only rapper to disagree with jamar aswell, theres a bunch of dope black rappers who disagree with jamar
What's great about rap is that started a movement above any race or nationality it's global now. In almost every country of the world you could find someone rapping. Sometimes you people seem to forget that.
lord cant say anything if g rap is speaking on this, g rap is the realest dude in the game, like nas said slick rick was like jesus, g rap wrot the bible, u cant put a color on music but there is always a respect that needs to b established regardless of what, say ur opinion but keep it respectful, but if g rap says otherwise, u respect that shit
So Necro is saying Hip-Hop is for everybody.. except gay people. Doesn't he see how contradictory that makes him sound!?!! And it completely loses the validity of his point. He just comes across as saying; don't discriminate me because I'm a white rapper but if you're gay then no, you're not in. Idiot. Big up to Kool G Rap for what he said. Legend.
+RusteT1 He never said it's not for gay people.. you must be gay cause you're offended by what he said and then twist his words around to make what he said sound worse.. He's saying real mcs don't rap about gay shit, kissing doods in the mouth and so on...People who make music like him (necro) don't EVER rap about kissing dudes in the mouth.. in the street in the poor neighborhoods youre not gonna be a gay rapper.. period.. he didn't say you cant be a gay rapper.. he's just saying from a real hiphop mc perspective.. it's wack.. and i agree.. hiphop in a lot of ways is like a never ending battle.. you always want to kill a track with lyricism better than the next cat.. and you aren't gonna kill anyone with gay fruitbowl bars except another gay dudes asshole or some shit.. don't be so salty bro
+ResoluteRecords I re-watched the video and you make a fair point. It was just my initial reaction. One thing for you to think about, you don't have to be 'that thing' to stick up for a cause. For example, you don't have to be be black to stick up for a black cause, you don't have to be gay to rise against homophobia (after re-watching I now realise Necro was not doing that). We obviously have similar taste in Hip-Hop so let's unite in that. Peace.
I don't have a favorite white rapper list. I'm just saying he's one of my favorite white rappers. I don't think that race should be an issue when it comes to music, but that's what the topic of discussion is in the video. So, that's what I said my favorite "white rapper."
You know there were a lot of Hispanic kids, and also white kids in the beginning and creation of hiphop right? A DJ's, as bboys, as graffwriters and mc's. Learn your shit before you speak, don't get all your info from Jamar. Do your own study. It's just the truth man. Nowadays a lot of people bank on this hip hop culture that was supposed to be an outlet for creativity, not for making millions by selling out. No matter what color you are, thats where the problem lies, also with this shit yall watching keeping you dumb. Watch documentaries about the beginning and start of hiphop, and see for yourselves. Don't listen to gossiping men. (jamar and them) Peace!
+Nick Candy i always felt graffiti was separate from hip hop even tho its considered one of the elements their were writers in the beginning of graff whi didnt listen to hip hop they listened to punk, and what had hip hop done for graff these last 20 yeas except use it when they need too
drew rivas Since the beginning you say they didnt listen to hiphop. But..In the beginning there was no rap to listen to, it started with dj's extending a break so bboys could get down. But it's true that graffiti was also used by people outside of the hiphop culture, but the culture back then was more broad so to speak. And graff existed before the whole 'hiphop' culture. but of course rapping as well, since there are some older funk tracks where cats were already rapping on it in a way. It isnt black and white.. I think its a more complex melting pot of elements. Like diggin in the crates.. nowadays less and less people dig in the crates for samples, but its in fact a huge part of the culture..its watering down by the minute I think. With the trap shit and all.. anyway fuckit
Thank you - Hip Hop's history started in Zulu Nation, which preached Peace, Love, unity, and Having Fun. It was for everyone, and the culture is what brought us together.
Lol everyone refers to Necro as the white guy or white boy. People don't know shit about real hip hop. Necro is underground and has been in the game longer than 90% of your favorite rappers. He's the inventor of death rap
Does vlad actually let them listen to Jamar's interview or does he only tell them about the "guest" comment? I think a lot of these reply videos would be a little different if they heard Jamar's words. He never said whites couldn't do this or that, he just had a problem with a white rapper trying to make changes to culture that was born largely in part of the struggles of Black America. Vlad is having way too much fun with this shit. He needs to upload a video of his response. Stop bein that nigga spreading bullshit just to cause drama. Speak the fuck up
@@eliharris6349 I don't know if you this but during the 1970's no black person was ready to sign a rapper to a record label, a lot of black rappers including me got our shot at rap because of white record label owners signing a deal with us. Rap wouldn't have been this big if it wasn't for both the races.
Lord Jamar just likes to hear his corny ass self speak. He was a "two" hit at best wonder; fell off in the 90's and as he's getting older he thinks he needs to be heard. I'm a huge fan of hip hop since 84', and like all cultures of hip hop.
Frank Brenner It might be that, but that's not what I got from it. I was more thinking because Necro was making it more about himself than he was the topic at hand. He just went on and on about how he payed his dues coming up (like ha had something to prove), in contrast to that G Rap was talking about how people of other races and culture in hip hop have been there since it's inception. I'm not really sure where you got the bigot stuff from though in regards to Necro. Then again I don't listen to or follow Necro to a large degree, so maybe you know more about him than I do.
Frank Brenner For real though, how do you call Necro a bigot... in the same sentence that you call him a "fat white toy ass nerd"?... Dude you need to look in the mirror real hard, run some laps, do some push ups, whatever you need to do to get rid of that anger. You're like the pot calling the kettle white right now. You can't call someone a bigot and then say some bigot shit right after it. I mean you can but...
*Kool* is the man, listen to him. But the fact that *Jamar* says hip-hop is a black thang, yea, I can sort of agree with that too. He telling facts. Blacks were the first ones who originally started it, but again, it's universal, hip-hop is a thing which goes for all of us, cause we all livin' in it. I mean, if you feel like telling your own shit, and rapping at the same time, it means you're down to the hip-hop game. You feel like it's the most right way for you to express yourself. Because we're all individuals, have our different opinions about everything, about life in general. If you're talented enough to sing and telling a true stories, you ain't no guest in rap game, how is it possible to be a guest in your own world? So, I basically came to a conclusion that the hip-hop is a universal and anyone's thing. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Moozy Mathers black music & culture just don’t try to change it that’s all he was saying. Just like the color jesus because 100 years from now they’ll say M&M and Macklemore etc etc started hip hop.
Black People Created Hip-Hop! But I won't discredit those from other races who've made major contributions to the culture... Skill Is Skill, regardless of what you look like.....
No. The rich white execs gave it a platform, and really created it in that respect. No rich old white dudes........ no rappers!!. Just broke dudes singing around trash cans...
Most black mainstream rappers today only rap about bitches and cars and money, yet I see underground white artists talking about they're struggles and being broke. Times have changed. Grow up. Musical creativity isn't defined by what colour skin you were born with. Put on your big boy pants and accept change.
It was started by DJs in parks and at block parties trying to keep people dancing by spinning the instrumental hook of a song, constant beat with no lyrics from the artist, MCs (before they were even Emcess) were just the garnish. Literally masters of ceremony, only part of what they did was to kick a couple rhymes just to keep the energy up at the party. Storytelling came later. This white boy knows more about the origins of hip hop than you do it would seem.
DJ’s weren’t rappers but the first actual rappers Melle Mel Grandmaster etc they were rapping out their struggles then everyone jumped on it rapping about whatever else
Some rappers do not understand how Hip Hop sustained itself. It was a great deal of whites behind the scenes and when rappers started to travel the world they had a great deal of support by other races. Eminem is on just about everyone's list in the top 3 whatever order.
***** Many people in Rap have no idea of the history. They consider this fairly new prison lead fashion phase with over sized clothing and sagging pants what Hip Hop is about. They would have a problem with African Bambaataa who was one of the original creators. So is the actual creator of this genre wrong. How about the R & B singers with pencil leg pants and suits. It idiocy of some in wrap who equate the culture to disrespectful behavior and destruction of communities and violence is the issue. That is not Hip Hop and if you saw Bambaataa's crew back in the day you would know that it was filled with people from every ethnic persuasion. If they want to call it something else then fine but if you want it to be Hip Hop then respect how Hip Hop started.
Maurice Jones That was one of most well written and composed rebuttals to a statement I have ever read. it goes without saying that I agree with everything you said but I could not have said it better myself. Kudos.
***** Very true. Being someone who has been in about 25 countries all over the world you will find it amazing the things that are so similar in music, and culture. Some people who are Aboriginal could say rappers "bit" off them. So it is not as simple as people think but it is simpler than people believe, if that makes sense. LOL

I mean honestly..... A TRUE OG, a true pioneer, dismisses the comments of a "og" who has dubbed himself an OG, while others have dubbed him the Paris Hilton of rap..... I'll listen to G Rap everyday of the week
Guest is a red flag word though. It essentially means temporary. And Jerome is most definitely racist. The final straw was when Em didn't reply back to his tweet. Now he's butthurt.
Rap is arguably for all races, sure. The problem some rappers have though, is that the respect of Black artists who started Hip-Hop may be lost one day. I have a terrible suspicion that one day, if the market becomes saturated with too many White Rappers, that it could be misconceived that White people started the culture. It's a sad thought.
At some point... You have to ask yourself: does skin colour really matter? Maybe this is more common with younger generations, or in Europe, but I really don't think people care about that stuff. I think it's more important who the people were. The majority of black people back when hip hop started, had absolutely nothing to do with starting hip hop. Why not focus more on the people who actually did start it? In case I didn't make myself clear, I'll use an illustration. A white person is the reason why we have smartphones. White people aren't responsible for it. The person responsible for it just happened to be white, but the credit is not shared amongst all white people. So to bring it back to hip hop... Why not just focus the attention on the people who actually had a hand in the creation of hip hop? (For the record, all kinds of skin colours were there from the start. Kool G mentioned Beastie Boys and Rick Rubin, for example. Those are names that changed hip hop more than most black people did. Not taking away from black people. I'm just choosing to focus more on the individual people, and not on the skin colour they happened to have. I think we'll see a lot more of that view in the future. I don't think black people will be forgotten. I just think the focus will be more on the individual persons, and not the skin colour.)
I don't understand why race is a damn issue, it's music people will gravitate to whatever genre they want some blacks listen to pop/country and some whites listen to rap/hip hop music is universal stop this racial shit
Jamar is talking about the origins. No white people were up in the Bronx having DJ/mc battles and b boying. It was Blacks and Puerto Ricans. People keep bringing up beastie boys and Rick Rubin etc...they were not around in the 70s when it all started.
In the underground clubs, it was punk and hip hop, punk kids would go to the hip hop shows, and the hip hop kids would go to the punk shows , it wasnt just block and neighborhood house parties
Art Vandalay Go talk to a fine girl and talk about 'gays' and see how she reacts. See if you get anywhere with her. Smart, sexy, classy women aren't down with bigots like this fat fuck. G Rap is a leader, but this is disappointing.
Honestly, I felt that Kool G Rap was just saying that because his primary source of income is those White people overseas and didn't want to offend any of them. And Necro....for all his "hood" credentials just honestly doesn't seem to understand Black culture or more importantly Black history at all.
Just as Macklemore was acutely aware that if he pushed the gay agenda he would not only be doing something unprecedented, but would be reaching a much larger market share. He may very well be pro-gay, but at the end of the day it's not about that at all. With a much larger market share, comes a much larger pay check. Smart artists don't discriminate.
@@lfd12611 I don't see any comments about G rap being political. "Politically correct" means saying the right answers. Grap said himself, he's doing a European tour aka I still have to sell tickets to white people.
All music is for everybody. When you perform, the sound doesn't choose which color ears to reach. However, Kool G Rap completely missed the point. Lord Jamar was saying that hip hop is black culture, and he was 100% correct. Jazz is black. Blues is black. Country was black before it became mainstreamed by Whites. In fact most American music aside from maybe techno or classical were invented, refined and brought to the people by blacks. That said, regardless if you emulate a thing, it doesn't make the art EVERYBODYS. When you practice jujitsu, its an Japanese culture. When you Riverdance, its Irish culture. When you Hula dance, its Hawaiian culture. The point I'm making is that Lord Jamar was correct in his assertion that Whites, Gays, Chinese or Eskimos are not going to come in a dictate or define what Hip Hop is. Its more than just music. Hip Hop became a way for people to understand and identify with each other through music and dance. Homosexuality has never been a part of that community. That is not to say that some of the rappers weren't gay, but they NEVER brought that into hip hop. They kept their private life private. The messages in hip hop have always been powerful and the message of spreading and embracing homosexuality is not and has not ever been a message that the communities of hip hop want to send. Whites are a guest in hip hop, and as Blacks have learned, once Whites get a foot in the door, they slowly take over by marketing the White talent and slowly faze out the Black talent. They did it to Jelly Roll Morton. They did it to Chuck Berry. They tried to do it with Vanilla Ice and make him the biggest rap star. How many Black MCs got movie deals and were promoted and marketed as heavily as Vanilla Ice? Eminem undeniably has great ability, but he was marketed and promoted bigger than Dr Dre, a pioneer of West Coast rap and a legend in his community, not the commercial world. And Dre put them all on! It wasn't Lord Jamar deciding anything. Jamar was simply voicing his opinion and the opinions of MILLIONS of people who belong to the hip hop community. Necro could be one of the best rappers ever, but regardless as to how long he's hung around with, how long he's rapped, or who he knows or sits next to on couches, he's a guest whether he likes it or not. Necro is a guest in hip hop and he's a guest in the hood REGARDLESS as to whether he lived there or not. Because in the end, Necro knows that the people he hangs around with might tolerate him using the N-word, but he also knows that there has been times when he's said it in front of the wrong person and got checked for it. No matter how down a white dude is, there will always be those who have a problem with those who don't belong stepping over certain lines and boundaries. And when guys like Necro get the idea that it wouldn't go down that way, all one has to do is take him to any hood USA to the spot where dudes have no reservations about checking a guy like Necro on the spot. And then like magic, you'd see how quickly Necro's attitude would shift and adjust. That's not to say Necro is a punk or isn't even cool with some of the most hardcore dudes. I'm saying that the real stars don't need backstage passes, and Necro and every other White dude or artist will always and better be carrying their backstage pass when they come to the hood. To be honest, in this video Kool G Rap was Necro's backstage pass. The video may have not even gotten 10 views if G Rap wasn't sitting next to Necro. That isn't to say Necro isn't a cool dude and doesn't have skills. Its to say that without Kool G Rap sitting next to him, no one would have cared what Necro had to say and he's been down for over 20 years! That should tell you something right there.
Matthew Colonna Bullshit. Like Lord Jamar said, Blacks don't try to claim Mariachi. Blacks don't claim kabuki. Blacks don't claim Kathakali. Sure Blacks practice many things outside of their own culture. However they know and have the character to behave as if they know that they are guests in other people's houses. Alvin Ailey is a predominantly Black school for dance. Some of that dance is not Black in origin. However, they practice it without pretending that they can go in and dictate what goes on in ballet. They can be practitioners without trying to bring revolutionary change to the already established culture. Same with opera. Blacks sing it, but don't look for statues of a Black opera singer to be erected in Rome because they sing. The love of something doesn't mean you have a right to reform or change a culture that was loved and appreciated before they were ever a part of it. There were a lot of Black musicians and entertainers who felt the way Kool G Rap felt until they found themselves poor and destitute while their White counterparts thrived playing Black music that they learned, emulated and stole from the Black culture. You'd be surprised at the difference in the attitudes from start to finish of those same Black entertainers.
You're the one who missed the point. You're only focusing on half of what Jamar said, which is that Hip-Hop is a black culture. His corollary to that (which was his main point) was that because it's black culture, white people (or any other group of non-blacks) have no right to speak on different topics--they must keep the art of rap within the topics "black culture." To do otherwise is perceived as hijacking black culture, when it doesn't even have anything to do with that. It's just a case of a dude choosing to rap about different topics, and another dude saying, "No no no, that's not allowed. Blasphemy." Bullshit.
I think everyone took lord jamar comment the wrong way...jamar didnt say whites shouldn't rap...he said rap is black peoples culture...hes right..the hip hip slang, fashion, and street ideologies come from black people...whites are guest in hip hop...its nothing wrong wirh that..
Jamar never said "Rap" wasn't for all races nor did he say they couldn't participate. He said that blacks were the "Originators" so that make every other race "Guest" you can't argue that. Just accept. Regardless of how much we call ourselves Americans, it's a reason why we call Native Americans "Native" this was their land. You can't argue history. And know this MTV wasn't trying to deal with hip hop when it first came out, BET did. Whites saw that they could make money off of it and since then it's been mainstream. Save that all around the world stuff.
Rochelle Moneak why is it that I hear so many people saying the same tired ass bullshit!! " White people discovered that they could make money off blacks"??? what the hell!! not every black person has bn oppressed & not every white person is evil/thieves!! I'm so sick of the back & forth about history & respect. knowledge is power!! racism, of any kind; by any1, is still racism!! we aren't in te past anymore!! this is today, almost 2017, grow up! stop fighting about sum childish ass shit!! People are people are people!! it doesn't matter what their skin looks like or what gender they are! just stop the hate bc thats what is being taught to today's youth. it's scary & sad
Deanna young with all that you just said. I hear u. At the end of the day blacks are the originators of hip hop. Plain and simple. What is there to argue?
Rochelle Moneak no argument at all. I was asking why should it matter?? so many people talk about things that are insignificant. it doesn't matter where, when, why, how or how. it only matters if we as a human race can make our lives happy & fulfilled. I don't see the point in discussing origins or originals. bc regardless of where it came from, its where it is going. the past is the past!! we should focus on today. thats all we can do. just bc sumn began a certain way, doesn't make it an owned property. thats the only thing I was saying about hip hop or any other music/art. bc if a white person or a Spanish person or whomever invented something, that doesn't mean it belongs only to the people with the same color skin!! does that make sense to u? I was only asking why it should matter?? black, white, or green!! as long as people want to keep separation bc of skin pigmentation, there will always be racist issues that are pushed. Stop putting humans n2 a separate category. we are all living on the same planet last I knew. I'm certainly not making a dime off of any1! so the comments about white people using black people or "product" of black people to make $, is racist! if I said sumn like that, woah, the whole of UA-cam would b on my "racist" ass! but it's not right either way. Sorry if u dont see things that way
It wasn't like that in the Bronx none of them was that all parties so I don't know who and what y'all talkin about y'all know nothing about pioneers and Hip-Hop is a culture the art form coming from the Bronx
Hip Hop comes from Black\African American culture and will always be that . It is a universal to be fascinated and passionate about something as amazing and energetic and world changing as HipHop has been since day one . It is amazing that all races creeds and folks of all ages are represented in it , it binds them all as a common force . As long as we respect and honour it's roots and gifts it'll always keep fresh . Just oppinion of a Slav emmigrant to Americas.
davor obradovic Although African-Americans are narrowly credited with the formation of hip-hop, Latinos have been involved in the scene since its conception. According to Raquel Z. Rivera, “The social conditions and economic prospects for young people living in poor urban communities during the 1960s and 1970s were appalling (4). She goes on to state that both African Americans and Latinos, particularly Puerto Ricans, called these poor communities their homes. One of the worst areas to live in at this time was the Bronx, which was riddled with poor housing, fierce gang rivalries, and drug use. According to Cheryl L. Keyes, Afrika Bombaataa, a former African American gang member himself and deemed the “Godfather of Hip-Hop” asserted his concept of youth solidarity by rechanneling violent gang rivalries into artistic competitions. In 1973, Bombaataa formed a nonviolent coalition called the Youth Organization, later renamed the Zulu Nation. This organization was essentially a youth organization incorporating break-dancers (mainly Latinos), DJ’s, and graffiti artists (5). One of the first Latino famed Latino hip-hop artists during the formative years of this organization was DJ Charlie Chase of the Cold Crush Brothers. According to Chase, he influenced the hip-hop scene by slipping in musical elements from Latin music just enough so that people would inadvertently enjoy them without realizing they were actually dancing to Latin music (6). According to DJ Ill Will, “Back then race was never really a problem between Blacks and Spanish” (7).
Tuff TalkTv I have to go Paul Mooney on you “Puerto Ricans.......niggas that can swim.” Spanish is a language. Puerto Rican’s are part of the African Diaspora.
0:36 Jimmy Iovinne, Clive Davis, Lyor Cohen, Steve Rifkin, Barry Weiss, Aerosmith, Anthrax, MC Serch, Pete Nice, House of Pain, Vanilla Ice... The list go on and on.
What?! All of them deserve noteriety... Jimmy Iovinne and Clive Davis were key members in distribution with Interscope Records and Arista/J Records, notably for Death Row and Bad Boy. Lyor, Steve and Barry were top executives for Def Jam, Loud and Jive Records. Aerosmith and RUN DMC made hip hop/Rock history with Walk this Way and so did Anthrax and Public Enemy with Rap and Metal... House of Pain were basically the Irish Beastie Boys at one point before Everlast went solo and Lethal joined Limp Bizkit. 3rd Bass always showed prowess in Pete as well and Serch introduced Nas to the Hip Hop world. Plus, I don't care about what people say about Vanilla Ice; he was the Macklemore of Rap for a couple of years... A little caucasian hip hop history for you, kindly typing. 👍🏾
@@ddp5406 He didn't shut anybody Down. *Lord Jamar was absolutely Correct* He never said Caucasian Rappers weren't talented or didn't deserve Respect. He said that they are Guests.. He didn't shut shit down
It’s hard to say they were guests. There have been a lot of white rappers and white people behind the scenes that have helped lay the foundation to hip hop as their mutual contribution to the culture. Technically everyone is a guest we only here for so long. Music is ever changing and evolving some people don’t have longevity in the business. And so far the only people I’ve seen disrespect the pioneers of the game have been these new mumble rappers. Em, mc serch, Everlast, beastie boys are pioneers and have paid homage and their dues to hip hop to not be considered “guests”

gays can be in it, but not everyone will like it. youre saying people have the right to be gay and express that, but others cant disagree with it? free speech is free speech
Look at it like the military. You can be gay in the military, but that doesn't mean people are going to be cool with it. As far as it being about black culture, maybe once a time, but that time has come and gone. When I was hearing hip-hop in Singapore, Dubai and Australia, that sealed it for me. The reach overseas is just impossible to truly grasp on this side of the pond. That's not really anyone's fault, but it is what it is.
***** It has become a Cultural Phenomenon exactly. Which is why we need to get control over this product because rather any of us admit it or not hip hop represents US!!!! black people. We are stereotyped by its portrayal. WE are judged by its turn out no other race is only black people. but we arent making hardly any money from it. This needs to change. I'm not pointing fingers at anyother race. I'm all bout making changes within the race.
White kids and all races can't help the music they grow up too or the neighborhoods that they lived in that were hard and had rap and r.n.b playing as a majority. They can't change that. Hip hop is a culture for all!
Since we're on this topic I can recall when dr dre first heard eminems demo of the ssep he really liked what he heard and had no idea he was white UNTIL he met him . Did Dre say oh your white you don't belong here blacks only ....NO, he wanted to sign Em asap . The point is hip hop is for all races so jamar just needs to stfu btw I'm glad Em dissed him
I'm white and hip hop is all I loved and it got me through some hard times. White people live in ghettos and struggle just like black folks do it's not about black and white it's about GREEN in today's time. That's that man's view and his only u don't have to listen to it if u don't want to scroll or click off. I'll leave it with this if it wasn't for white people hip hop would've died from the start couldn't brought in enough revenue to keep going with just 13% of the population. The small % of targeted audience would cause the profit margin to be to low to maintain any type of business, paying the artist, production team and all the other overhead expenses.
@@WaxDat8800 thats the problem today hip hop is not yall culture. U need to go talk to some of yall elders i bet none of them fuck with hip hop cause its the destruction of yall culture.
U will never see black ppl as a group run to heavy metal when we feel we need to rebel. It's based on what u grew up in.. Most white ppl listen to hip hop because of the image around it(Cars, clothing, jewelry). Hip hop is black specific.. That white fan in the crowd is influenced by us black folk.. So no matter how many white ppl are in hip hop, it's still looked at as black ppl music..
Can't speak for the US, but where I live, back in highschool rap music was often looked down upon for the exact reasons you mention. In my experience white ppl are not into that image at all. A handful like myself listened to 'alternative' hiphop, such as KRS, Delasoul, ATCQ, etc.. where it was mostly black dudes playing Nelly on their phones. So in that respect, I think you have a skewed view on which demographic upholds which music.
Jamar was not wrong as far as what was said the message. Maybe the way he worded it may have been strong. But the message of what was said was not necessarily wrong. Necro discussed how long he's been in hip hop. A black person or a white person could discuss how long they have eaten Mexican food. It doesn't change the fact that Mexicans created the cuisine. Just because you use something from another culture does not mean that you created or had a hand in creating that culture.
***** yes exactly like Jackie Robinson when he first knocked on the doors. Even though he wasn't fully welcomed in the house eventually everyone involved in baseball had no choice but to let him and other races in. Just like what Lord Jamar is saying look we welcomed you in but there's no sleep over guest without the owners approval lol. That's what he meant. I think its hitting hard because the guest didn't know they were guest.
Just cos its politically correct doesnt mean its not right. Fuck being PC, simple fact is music is music, blacks started hiphop, but at its roots its the english language, rhythm and poetry, no one owns the rights to them. Music is for everyone as long as you respect and understand it.
Larry Murphy That's the problem, none you UNDERSTAND anything that's HIP HOP. Have you ever stolen spray paint and TAGGED anything. Have you ever bought a set of turntable and went record diggin'. Have you ever B-Boyed. NO you bought a CD and think YOU ARE HIP HOP.
Larry Murphy If you were just looking to make money off your turntable, you should have done wedding. As far as the link, Don't need it. The thing is, your not HIP HOP because you bought something, like a Turntable or a Spray paint can. Your Hip Hop because you do This thing for the right reasons. If you don't understand or care to even know why Theodore Invented the Scratch or Cornbread invented graffiti THEN YOUR LOST. You have to have an understanding before you can do HIP HOP. This is the Problem today with people.

I agree. Instead of worrying about who belongs and who doesn't, lets make hip hop bigger and better.

thats not the original reason, he was pissed because during the myspace days before vlad tv, vlad was making a mixtape and necro had atrack with a million plays that he wanted to give vlad to use. vlad said he wasnt feeling it and basically dropped the idea of having necro on it. the title was the second beef

Since the beginning you say they didnt listen to hiphop.

Kool G Rap seems cool and I love his views, got alot of respect for him he's been in the rap game for along time.
G Rap looks uncomfortable while Necro is talking.
Exactly, uncomfortable af.
Well Necro has always had no filter

Musical creativity isn't defined by what colour skin you were born with. Put on your big boy pants and accept change.
@tiger woods Yah2 nobody forget that. Why you keep bring this up? Other races never claimed hip-hop ours. Your comments? Point? You want award bro?

2 of the greatest on the mic right here
I don't understand why race is a damn issue, it's music people will gravitate to whatever genre they want some blacks listen to pop/country and some whites listen to rap/hip hop music is universal stop this racial shit
G rap's scratching his face and thinking,"This dude Necro is ruining his career by the sentence"
Kool g rap is a great. Top 5! Lord Jamal word means nothing

@@WaxDat8800 nah. U a jamar fan boy?
G. Rap's thought bubble: "Man, I told this dude to wait in the car."
😂😂😂😂😂
Jamar is talking about the origins. No white people were up in the Bronx having DJ/mc battles and b boying. It was Blacks and Puerto Ricans. People keep bringing up beastie boys and Rick Rubin etc...they were not around in the 70s when it all started.
In the underground clubs, it was punk and hip hop, punk kids would go to the hip hop shows, and the hip hop kids would go to the punk shows , it wasnt just block and neighborhood house parties
oh and let me just say...my like of this video extends only as far as Kool G Rap's comments, not Necro's stupid comments
Had to undo the like myself.
Art Vandalay Go talk to a fine girl and talk about 'gays' and see how she reacts. See if you get anywhere with her. Smart, sexy, classy women aren't down with bigots like this fat fuck. G Rap is a leader, but this is disappointing.
Necro is correct.
Necro the master of death rap ...underated producer in the game hes on my mount Rushmore when it comes to beats beside rza premo qtip dilla ect
I'm getting tired of these politically correct answers..
Very tired!
What's political about what Kool G said?
@@lfd12611 I don't see any comments about G rap being political. "Politically correct" means saying the right answers. Grap said himself, he's doing a European tour aka I still have to sell tickets to white people.
Politically correct is the safe answer.
Word.
"The culture has no race to it" He hit did not miss the point.
THIS DUDE IS OLD SCHOOL AND HE DOESN'T GET IT. THAT'S WHAT THIS WORLD IS COMING TO.
good shit.
Necro "I Need Drugs " one of the best tracks ever.
Facts!! That video tells it all too. Greatest anti-drug program ever 💯
I think everyone took lord jamar comment the wrong way...jamar didnt say whites shouldn't rap...he said rap is black peoples culture...hes right..the hip hip slang, fashion, and street ideologies come from black people...whites are guest in hip hop...its nothing wrong wirh that..
G rap is wrong then I guess

Although African-Americans are narrowly credited with the formation of hip-hop, Latinos have been involved in the scene since its conception.

0:36 Jimmy Iovinne, Clive Davis, Lyor Cohen, Steve Rifkin, Barry Weiss, Aerosmith, Anthrax, MC Serch, Pete Nice, House of Pain, Vanilla Ice... The list go on and on.
Maybe one out of all of them, gets any type of notoriety.

Marcus Mcalister Hip Hop started from black culture but it's a global thing now. Get over it.

Shit I head bang to heavy metal and rock back and forth to rap, if I can feel someone's passion and love for their craft I'm listening.
"Know what I mean?" Felt like I was listening to J-Roc from Trailer Park Boys
