Purchased a 24 Mazda 3 PP Turbo AWD 2 weeks ago. Took a 2500 mile road trip from sea level to 10000'. Averaged 29.2 for entire trip and 35.6 during the mountain passes, all on 85/87 octane. Great car for a smaller stature driver. Rough roads are not the best as the suspension and tire choice make for a rougher ride. Very comfortable for a commuter with plenty of power to make passes. Although I like manuals, this car is not a hot hatch. The take-up rate on the manuals is extremely low, even for the Mazda 3. The sales of the 3 (sedan and HB) are only about 3k-4k a month in the US. Brakes on the turbo could be improved. Car coasts exceptionally well which was a surprise.
The screen is placed up and out of the way BY DESIGN; it’s not a design error and it’s not designed to be “easy to reach”. Mazda believes it’s safer to engage with the Infotainment system using the Controller Knob and well-placed buttons and you know what? They’re right. Cognitively, it’s LESS DISTRACTING while driving. Kudos, once again, to Mazda designers and engineers.👏
Agreed. Even though I have touch screen capability, the control knob is perfectly placed where my hand naturally rests to activate the infotainment. Touchscreen was added just for marketing, not for functionality.
After 5 years, I'm finally looking to sell my 2019 Mazda 3. I still love looking at it when getting out of the car. It has the best center control stack of any car out there, in terms of simplicity and function. It only has 190hp, unlike the 250hp turbo version, but it runs like a dream. I wish it got a little better fuel economy. My BMW M240i xDrive puts out 350hp and gets 30+mpg. It's weird that the Mazda can't get better fuel economy numbers with its inline 4 and 400 fewer pounds. But it's time for this one to go. If Mazda put out a 2-door fastback coupe version of the Mazda 3 turbo (AWD or RWD preferred), I'd be returning to Mazda as soon as it hit the showrooms.
Very nice car. Unfortunately in Holland this version is not available because of extreme high emission taxes. Yes, in very tiny Holland politicians are focused on saving the climate of this planet.
I just wish there was a more affordable, no nonsense way to get into a Mazda 3 Turbo. I just want the turbo, cloth seats, and better tires+ brakes from the factory for around $33k. I don't want any of the extra "luxury" fluff. Yeah there's the Carbon Turbo trim but it's only available in one ugly color combo and still has an unnecessary sunroof. Or a hybrid Mazda 3 gettings 200 HP and 50 MPG would be really nice too.
In europe we dont get the 2.5 turbo but i really dont care. We get a 2.0 NA engine which i really like, it has plenty of gas and its reliable and furl efficiency. The car looks and handles great and you csn get the 2.0 NA with a manual and awd which feels so old school. The only thing i dont like is the rear torsion beam mazda uses. They say the do it because the handling feels more natural, i call the BS.
The other day a Mazda 3 turbo driver decided to test his car out a little and I was in a 2007 Volvo v70 2.5t and I started gapping him with the Volvo. Keep in mind the Volvo only has 208 hp and weighs a little over 1.5 tons.
Very underrated car! A tune and some simple internal work and it can create some serious power
Although it doesn’t need “some serious power”. It has plenty of power the way it comes.

If a MazdaSpeed variant was a thing with this generation, then I would say it would be something like a modern day 944 successor.

love the videos!
Maybe with the next major redesign Mazda can make it look even closer to the Kai concept from 2017!

Would look so much better as a 2 door
Looking thick bro 💪
Turning traction control off prevents the car from upshifting when in manual mode. It will bring you to fuel cutoff.

Excellent review. Do you think the Skyactiv X will ever make it to the US for the Mazda 3?
Could you make a top ten best designs video?
Can you analize and redesign the 2024 Lancia Ypsilon?
Thank you
Used their definitely value. 2023s premium plus with under 25k miles already around 28k or less.
Sleek instead of hard, bulky and chunky!
Still incredibly new though. It's sadly not being sold here 😢
Turn off traction control in order to hold gears in manual mode
