I remember when I saw Rihanna in London when she was 17 years old, on her own. She stood next to me, a normal girl about to perform in a small gathering. I wish I spoke to her, and somehow had a chance to stay in touch with her, (not because she’s gone on to become a global star) but because she blossomed into one the most admirable, beautiful women and soul. Her heart is the purest and most loving to humanity. She feels the pain of normal people. She’s kind and always uses her voice unlike many other celebrities.
I’m sooo proud and happy, as her fan, to see her growth for the past years. From that party pop star she used to be on the early stage of her career to a bolder, wiser woman that she is today. You can tell that she learned from her past mistakes and chose to grow and continue to excell on her craft. From being a pop star, it’s so fulfilling to see her a philanthropist and an ICON of our generation. One thing that didn’t change from her is her DEDICATION to strive even more. We’ll always love you Rihanna. As a fan, I can truly understand if you won’t release an album anytime soon. Just continue doing your priorities and be the best version of yourself always. Mahal kita!

If the ones that break bread with you are truly your friends, you wouldn't even have to tell them to pull up, because they would have already been there with you to begin with.

Or perhaps you would rather I move slightly forwards in history to the renaissance where one comes across the works of Michelangelo and Shakespeare. No, maybe that is still too far for you. Let’s move forward to the enlightenment and the great scientific and industrial revolutions of the western heartland in Europe. Here we can see the creation of the modern world with the invention of the steam engine, moral evolution in the works of Dickens and Balzac, not to mention the political development of universal democracy and the rule of law. But we need not travel into the near past, we need only look to the modern age. In this age, western civilisation has created nuclear energy, the computer, jet engines and space travel. This is what western civilisation is; it is the light of humanity, it is the engine of modernity and progress. Honestly, I don’t have a lot of nonblack friends because none of them have EVER pulled up. When by a rare chance they do, they automatically become my friend, my sister, my lifetime buddy. This speech hits deep for me.
I have had NonBlack acquaintances and friends since childhood. (The two are very different for me.) NonWhite/NonBlack friends were the better of the friends than White friends. To be honest this group is where I find my best NonCaribbean (when they were not Caribbean) friends. As far as Whites go ... Some of the friendships had depth and mutual respect and love. Others literally started to sound like the Klan and I avoided them. This started in JHS. What I have noticed is that my Ashkenzi Jewish friends were the only White-identified friends that didnt contain racists. Yuck. The other White friends varied. (The White Caribbeans I encountered are genuine. They differed from any other group of Whites I met and only NonCaribbean White Latinos were anywhere near half as genuine. NEVER do they ever made me or any other NonWhite Caribbean feel lower or inferior or try that racism mess. They know we are lile family.) --- B.

BLACKS ONLY
Ummm people have been saying that for centuries. Rihanna did not come up with that idea
@@tvs9978 And that is an uncomfortable fact that's often overlooked... What can result from simply asking for unity? Nothing. Complete unity is required to fix the world, but unity is something the world has NEVER known.
Universal disunity is a problem that needs to be resolved, yes, but the solution is beyond human hands.
So what it’s been said before Rihanna have said it again sometimes things needs to be said again & again & again

Its a shame so many institutions that claim to care about equality look at race before character.
David Owen your still missing it, the problem persistently was the black man targeted from the past to now. When you continuously allow an issue to happen..it never dies down it grows stronger. Know the saying “evil begets evil” ? Evil came to kill, steal and destroy. Evil is actually setting back like yourself and admiring the problem. Some will never understand her words to “pull up” when they are so used to being embedded.😑

This woman has come a very long way from the little island gal she is. From someone having a dream, to someone fighting for a worldwide problem on her chest. This is everything and more for the young admirers that watch and love her. Great role model she has become. YOU ROCK RIH!

This speech hits differently in light of what's going on in Minneapolis. All races need to pull up and raise awareness that Black Lives Matter. Too many lives have been taken. RIP George Floyd.
Came back just for this video because of what happened to George Floyd R.I.P
@I'm about Africa How is that going to solve anything? Everyone's eyes need to be open. If we can't get people from their curtain of white privilege nothing will change. They will keep killing us.

Mahal kita!

This woman pulled up for Asian Hate. See how she stood up for her words? She meant what she said.
If the ones that break bread with you are truly your friends, you wouldn't even have to tell them to pull up, because they would have already been there with you to begin with.

You’re funny. Go and do your research. They hadn’t even invented the wheel in the 1900s, when us Europeans had the submarine, the train, wind turbine, the computer and telephone, amongst many other things that shapes your world today.
@@tm1rt2vv8i what is western culture known for…
@@ThePthinker what? Surely you already know this, you live in a world created by western civilisation? Shall I go all the way back to the genesis of western civilisation in ancient Greek and Roman culture, with people like Socrates, Homer, Caesar or the building of the Parthenon or Colosseum. But yes, I guess African Americans did give us jazz and Kanye west, but its not quite the same, is it….

Pull up as in what exactly
Same. This speech made me reevaluate my friendships.
I have had NonBlack acquaintances and friends since childhood. (The two are very different for me.)
NonWhite/NonBlack friends were the better of the friends than White friends.
They know we are lile family.)
