Frost got the "don't come to school tomorrow" by someone on the team and survived like that 💀
Grinch must have told him that. It pays to be the quiet kid.
He is the one who didn't come to school and a school shooting happened.
Makarov was like: I like you Frost don’t come to school tomorrow.
Frost was actually planned for this mission cause in the game files, there’s unused dialogue of Price talking to him directly
yea
Where can I find those dialogues?
What does he say

Yes, we play as Frost in some Spec Ops missions

Probably command saw a much better use for frost’s skills, put him on solo to assist TF 141 and delta force, then is told to self destruct the place but does not know it was the wrong timing to set it off
Thats actually a good theory man
Nah in the mission he was told when to plant and destruct it by overlord wasn't frost fault
I like to believe he was just WIA in Scorched Earth and couldn't come to the mission. Keep in mind that Frost was apparently providing Overwatch for Kingfish (the long pincer movement that explains why Price was found in a gulag in MW2), so with his absence, Price and Frost are the sole survivors of Kingfish. And who knows, maybe Price just died at the end of MW3 where he's smoking a cigar, and Frost is just the only one left standing.
02:19 ay yo, what is this mission? I have spent hours in cod mw3 spec ops and I never saw this mission.
Spec ops DLC mission
@@star_t1 oh alright, thx
Frost killing his team is such a goofy plot twist
For me, specifically remember that Frost is a staff sergeant, staff sergeant job is to...well be a squad leader, it might as well be that Airborne unit has reassign frost as staff sergeant again after the events of rescuing vice president and the Crashing the hell out of Volk before he bolts. So i assume Frost was at Fort liberty doing a number of paperwork while his Road trip buddies about to die in a siberian Diamond mine! And train a few more Recruit in Delta force, aka Task force green aka CAG!
Finally, a video focusing on Frost. Man is a badass. Also, I think theory 2 is the most plausible hypothesis.
Now i know why frost not come to this mission
Thanks for the information
00:57 why he's name pieces?
02:47 they active the bom is too early, that why diamond mine was explode
So we lost sandman,Grinch, and truck
I always assumed he got injured when the rigged door went off,
Then later got medical care.
Derek was in that mission, just working behind the scenes under a different mission codenamed: “Black Ice”, where he destroyed the mine. There’s no other canonical theory of why the mine exploded besides the mission “Black Ice”.
Ngl everytime i hear Overlord speak, i get a wave of nostalgia
I think he was likely injured in Germany, at the end of the mission the team is almost killed by a booby trapped door with frost as one of the closest to it. However so was sandman and he still participated.
Theory 2 actually seemed convinced me that actually happened, I mean. The mine wouldn't explode for no reason, right? And the parallels between Frost and Yuri are pretty convincing. Just saying, I support Theory 2 ngl
That third theory makes sense the most
I had a mod for xbox 360 that freezes the AI of the npcs. And when i went on that mission all of the npcs was in a T-pose (because the mod freezes the npcs on the 1st frame before they start their animations) but i saw frost on the lift in a A-pose and McCoy was not there. so i think when the mission starts frost is there for like 1 frame before it swaps to the McCoy model. but when the mission starts the screen is black so you don't get to see it
mw is the best call of duty series from the whole franchise. imo
Jesus it was actuslly frost that one time i was thinking why am i controlling yuri where is frost? Now ik where was he he was on a secknd mission to activate the self destruct sequence poor sandman and the others they were my fav all of the task force 141 died but frost is still alive baby WOOOO
I believe frost was simply reassigned to another front or maybe he was holding off Russian reinforcements while they secured the Russian president
i always tought frost indeed cuase the explosion of the mine
2:22 wooow what is this mission ?
Black Ice DLC :)
Well he was to op within his element
then wait for the remastered for MW3
I have a bigger question. If MW got rebooted, does that mean Soap is gonna die again?
damn, that would be extra fucked up
Basically Jackson, Ramirez, Frost, AC-130 gunner, astronaut in MW2, Sgt. Burn are NPC alike but they are playable
Roach
NPC means - Non-Player Character.
How does that make sense?
@@saidmass2 nah it mean non playable character
@@ZimX63 Google it
@@saidmass2 it's non playable character bro. If it's a non player character, then we the player still can play as the character. It will like the gta v character select wheel but with npcs instead
As you stated before, Frost's callsign is Metal-04, which is said by Overlord in the Spec Ops mission, so Theory 2 is the most likely theory why Frost is absent in Down the Rabbit Hole
Yeah it sounds plausible to me, cause as Price, Sandman and the others get out with the president, self destructing the mine would make it harder for anyone to track them down from there, and might eliminate any high value targets that they are or aren’t aware of. Plus it’d be harder for the ultranationalists to report what happened.
I mean there is a Spec Ops mission based on this level many people say its Frost considering that mission too takes place in This same level
@@tarheelpro87 theory 2 would be impossible since price would have to be in both the mission frost was missing in and the one he would be doing? therefore theory 2 gets debunked by itself
No, he was in a control room somewhere in the building, he's the one who caused the explosions at the end of the mission
In special ops overlord said metal 04 and that was Frost’s callsign
Frost should have been a playable character on this mission and Yuri should have appeared as NPC, since he already appearce as NPC in Dust To Dust and is generally more pronounced character. This would also gave Yuri more time to be shown as full character, since in MW trilogy characters are presented in more limited, narrow way when playable.
Would of made the end 10x more sad, a Delta being forced th o watch his bro th hers die
@@Rinde007 Or maybe even doing a last stand with your squad
@@reginaldcopperbottom468 At the end of the mission if you would play as frost: *New objective: buy time for the chopper* Then just you replaying that mission if it would be like this, you would say „It’s been an honour boys. 🫡 „
@CT--6666 Or the objective would be "protect yuri" since the former spetsnaz member gets incapacitated temporarily and then truck and price drag yuri to the chopper.
Metal 0-4 is the callsign of Frost, so Frost really impact "Down the rabbit hole" mission. It's a detail, but a nice one for who like the story of this trilogy (like me).
I did not understand a single thing
what?
Oh no, where's godzilla
If you look closely on New York and Berlin mission, Metal team/squad led by Sandman has a number after the callsign. Sandman = Metal 0-1 (Zero-One, means leader), Truck = Metal 0-2 (Zero-Two), Grinch = Metal 0-3 (Zero-Three), and Frost = Metal 0-4 (Zero-Four).
In the video, Metal 0-4 is mentioned by overlord with it's order to blow up the mine, or some part of it.
@@muhammadrayhanfirdaus1309 If frost was ordered to blow up the mine, why can't overlord tell him to blow up the mine after the president and everyone with him get out.
2:39 if this is canon, it’s possible that the team planned to destroy the mine but didn’t expect the to nearly get overrun by the end
That’s what I’m thinking, hence Delta Squad sacrificing themselves. There were just too many people.
and this canon to where he was i don't remember where i saw it was said

(Not so) Short answer:
Jackson, Roach, Ramirez and Frost aren't characters. They're player vehicles to get you through the missions. The devs didn't write their personality because there isn't any. IW said that they wanted player to experience the story without taking part into it, which I personally think it's done very poorly as it leads to awkward moments where the player has to speak and they just stay silent (BF4 did the same and its MUCH worse). There were rare exclusions to that rule with Price at the end of MW3 and Yuri as he is actually a character yet you play as him and yet they still chose to keep him silent besides the flashback level. That kind of creative inconsistency looks bad.
Long answer?
[Insert Fan Theory Here]
Hey SPi, nice seeing u here
I think its great idea beacause The player connect with The charakter and feels like he is the soldier
When I played the game for first time, it made me feel the story more and I liked it
In the new cods like mw2 2022 you are playing with character with personality and I didn't enjoyed the camping that much
(Sorry for my bad english)
Btw big fan of your custom camping
That's the one theory I believe in as well...
So they were not characters at all? It's weird, I feel like in all these missions, I was Reznov talking to Mason (in the missions after the prison break), but they brought the Roach character in COD MOBILE, so if he's not a character, he shouldn't be there as a character, right? (The answer was also short :)
@@alphacodyt technically he is character but with no personality.
I didn't played black ops so I don't know how it work there
That explosion at the end of black ice was a small explosion and wasnt the reason sandman died, if you actually watch the end of dtrh the explosions are coming from helicopters, so if frost was in black ice he didnt kill them.
also he could be the guy shutting down the aa guns in fire mission
Yea people tend to say frost killed his team but tbh the explosions weren't the reason sure yuri got injured and price had to evac him but the rest of J-SOC Delta stayed behind to cover the bird ( helicopter)
It's rather ironic seeing Yuri is silent throughout the time we play as him (except flashback), only for him to get a full fledged model and stuff in the final mission.
What I wanna say is, IW simply could've allowed us to play as Frost in this level, with Yuri beside us, behaving like he did in Dust to Dust. It wouldn't have been much of a hassle for the Dev's, and would've fit the scenario perfectly.
He actually said a few things in the intro of some missions.

*Soap:* _"So where do we start hunting?"_
*Yuri:* _"Africa. Makarov's been using local paramilitary force to move shipment into Sierra Leone. From there, they go towards Morocco. And into Spain."_

@@Take-aim-and-reload... yes but he dont talk when you playing as hım, i see that nice thing with mason, Alex mason .. "reloading" enemy down" cover me im reloading" "grenade out" . Things like that so.
The issue lies with the fact that Yuri was injured in Down the Rabbit Hole and had to be dragged to the chopper. Playing as Frost, you would have had your back to him, and wouldn't see the last stand of Metal Team in the same way.
@@cottoneyejoe8285 then give him the Yuri treatment. Same mission, same playable character but now Frost is the fourth member of team Metal in the mission and doesn't die in the elevator crash, voice lines and all. I think they could have just used one of the multiplayer voices and tell the actor to record a few extra lines if it was needed for his character (which I doubt)
There are 2 theories:
Theory 1 (before looking up spec ops mission black ice):
Frost was injured while trying to rescue Alena. He is likely to have sustained rib damage or cracks which could have caused him to be unfit to continue the mission and is either hospitalized or providing off-site assistance with overlord (through internal radio) but we “the player” don’t hear.
Theory 2 (spec ops black ice mission):
His injuries were minor and with his actions throughout the war, he is promoted to be a delta squad leader and goes through black ice per mission gameplay.
I always figured that being on the wrong end of a door-breach while rescuing Alena would've injured him severely enough; Sandman is clearly shown landing on Frost's leg, and 250+ pounds of soldier and kit landing on your leg that way definitely isn't going to do that leg any favors
If you ask me frost was riding around the mine in a snow mobile and was on a different part of the map
Finally some braincells

Mw3’s campaign is so much like an action movie. I like to imagine if it was there would he a scene of Team metal, Frost and tf141 all setting out on a helipad. Frost walks up to price or Sandman and says “give em hell” before walking to his new squad

@@alphacodyt I could see them extending the story into more games. MW3 and MW4. I really enjoyed Metal Team and I just found it odd. Whenever we’ve had a chopper there has been a door mounted minigun. If there had been one of those then Metal team would’ve survived.
That spec ops tie in blew my mind honestly you might be on to something there I never thought about it that way. I have always felt the spec ops missions were connected to the main story in some elusive way. Very excellent video!
I think Frost did kill his teamates, seeing as Overlord names "Metal 0-4" which was Frosts callsign. Also because of how often they tie the main story to the spec ops in this game.
Metal 0-4 would be the callsign for the 4th element in the team, not unique to Frost himself. So Team Metal would have Metal 0-1 through 0-4, regardless of who the individual element is
@Bean Martin VEVO except Cod did it as first number = squad, second number = individual. That's why Price is Bravo 0-6 in the new games. Even on a loading screen you can see that despite being 1 squad, every member of MW3s Delta team has different call signs. Sandman is 0-1, Grinch is 0-2, Truck 0-3, and Frost 0-4.
@@knightmare1267 The loading screen has them listed all as Metal zero 1 through 4. Metal 0-4 is only Frost's callsign because he is the 4th member of the team. If he was moved to a different team and someone else took his place, Frost doesn't take that callsign with him, the new person's callsign is becomes Metal 0-4.

It’s probably just because they didn’t want to go through the trouble of giving him a character model and voice actor for one mission, or have the dissonance and weirdness of him being a silent and masked NPC. Honestly it would have made more sense to have Frost be the playable character in this one, with Yuri as the NPC, since Yuri already had a voice actor and NPC model. I like the theories in this video as in universe explanations though, especially theory 2.
I dont think that frost was injured because how someone injured from debris from a falling building still act normal like nothing happened like 6 seconds after a damm building falled on his entire squad including him?

Good Video My Friend!
Thank you very much!
My personal head canon (idk if SpecOps are canon but they might be) is that for some reason, Frost got wounded and couldn't partake. After he recovers and learns that Sandman and the other Delta men sacrificed themselves, Price recruits him as a new member of 141. Maybe he has some issues (having lost Soap, Yuri, Roach, Gaz, and the whole betrayal thing), but Frost is a well-trained ex-Spec Force op and it goes well.
playable characters like frost, Ramirez and roach always treated badly like their existence was ignored😢
He was there but who knows.. Hard to say, maybe he wasn't and it is just spec ops mission.. Anyways.. In 2:38 Overlord calls Metal 0-4 and that's Frost which is mentioned in video and that is interesting point.
Theory 1 is stupid because when Frost was "Injured" He was running and walking perfectly fine.
Theory 2 is actually the correct one.
You can walk when injured, i fractured 2 ribs when i fell of my dad's bike and walked for a while before throwing up and passing out, adrenaline goes hard.
@NastyRodriguez But, cam you keep on running perfectly without limping a bit? I know his Special Forces but it seems impossible for the human body to run perfectly,
It could be just a developer overlook and we are just delving in too deep.
@@radthearchopolist2459 You may have a point there, but it doesn't change the fact Theory 2 is the correct one. It's actually canon to the game.
I like to think that he stayed top side with everyone else as the joint team went in, but theory wise I would accept this as the reason why if it was 2 player, if it wasn't then frost is more of a beast than all of them doing that by his lonesome.
I think the reason why Frost didn't come to this mission is because he didn't want to die or he is taking care of something a mission before that
The second theory is the most accurate for the simple reason that it is a dlc and that it would not make much sense for Frost to disguise himself as pieces for the mission. In conclusion, Frost is one of the few protagonists they Are alive
spec ops isn't dlc. It's litterally part of the games package.
This is the question I’ve always asked and wondered

I hope in Modern Warfare 3 Remastered (if there's going to be ever, or at least MW3 Campaign Remastered), they bring back Frost in Down the Rabbit Hole as NPC, or letting us play as him, and leaving Yuri as NPC.
If they let us play as Frost, Price and Yuri carries us to chopper with the President. Leaving Yuri behind is literally not sensible.
If we stay as Yuri, Frost (I'm sad) should stay behind with Sandman and others, to protect Yuri, Price and the President. Or Frost comes back in Dust to Dust as NPC with different Juggernaut suit (light armored, its visor is similar as his own) and raising hell upon Oasis Hotel with Price and Yuri.
Man, my hands are trembling :D
hope you are well! In my opinion, if they return Frost, the story line may change...
If COD MW2019 was instead a continuation of COD MW3 I always thought Alex being Frost was a cool concept and that his ‘sacrifice’ in the mission Game Over was to make amends for what happened here.
The reason I like Alex being Frost is because lore wise Alex was a Delta Force operator who becomes a CIA agent so it kinda lines up with the hypothetical.

It sucks that he wasn't on this mission, such a waste!!!! Come on people would love to see him!!! And actually, Faucon doesn't have any dialogue but he got my respect;), I liked him on that mission
PD: sorry for my English
I would love to see frost reappear in the future with actual voice lines that gave more depth to him
I've always wondered, but i assume he got injured.
Most likely, he was W.I.A in scorched earth. Overload would tell frost that the delta team and tf141 would be there, also the fact that overload was also in down the rabbit hole.
I imagine Frost would feel so bad about himself and feel guilty when he learns that he unintentionally killed his allies when he hit the self destruct button.
Also on a another note, why do the Inner Circle have a self destruct button? Did they get it from Dr Doofenshmirtz?
Probably because they knew that some day they would be overrun by some army of the government, and they prepared it to kill as many enemies as they could to escape to a new direction
But then the "minor" assault of the 144 and the Delta force taked place by surprise, they dint have time to organize a retreat or something and the self destruction was activated, killing and destroying the vast majority of the Makarov Army
Really, Doofinsmirth?😂😂😂
Theory 1 is much more likely. Frost is replaced by a minor character who gets instantly killed off in the mission, and in real life fireteams are always reinforced in the event of a casualty, KIA or WIA. As Frost is also callsigned *_0-4,_* there wouldn't be that much of a problem if he was dead, especially since in the first mission of MW3, he is evidently just a grenadier with the fact he carries an XM25 as a secondary there.
he was planned and probably we will see him on one of early build of MW3 if they exists
It's cuz hes a playable character and he wears a mask so he's basically a canon fodder there ya go no need for no bullshit theories
I don't wanna think Frost killed Metal team. It was just bad timing between everyone, with the enemy overwhelming the rescue team in the last part.
2:21 Something is missing, Frost needs to rescue the Russian President’s Daughter before self destruction
They were at war it's possible frost was needed else where sure he was part of sandmans team but frost can't be everywhere at once he was needed at a different battlefield
They literally should’ve just added him.. no second thoughts, just put him
If Theory 2 is correct, Frost will likely be dealing with the guilt for the rest of his life
2024 or 2025 they better have a new modern warfare 3 I wanna know what frost sounds like
I really hope we get Team Metal in the MW3 2025 or whatever the fuck
I always said if they did mw4 it would be price and frost as survivors dealing with losing their teams
There was dialogue of price talking to frost in the game files. So Frost was supposed to be in this mission but was cut later in the game’s development
he did call him metal 0-4, and thats Frost Callsign 2:37
I always wondered why Frost was not in this mission. Finally, someone made a video on this decade-long question that I have had. I thought it was because he was injured in action.
If you keep looking down there you can see sandman and grinch both due then truck throws a grenade and he turns back and he doesn't see any of the evac heli and idk what happend after
They should've made Frost playable in the level, but you play as Yuri after the helicopter goes down. And then another spec ops mission sees Frost with the rest of Metal team during the explosions, but after the collapse he wakes up and Truck/ Grinch tells him Sandman and the other teammate is gone, and it becomes a journey to escape the ruins, but the efforts are feeble because a boulder falls onto them after a minute (the level is timed to be 1 minute long after the collapse, like Aftermath in COD4- after you fall from the helicopter the level is on an invisible timer)
I really vote for a remastered version of MW3(not reboot)
So frost was secretly there and he killed his own team? But frost was doing his job?
He was partially responsible for the death of Sandman and his team, but not intentionally because they were separated and Frost didn't know they were inside the mine facility. It was after all an order from Overlord and the mine was going to be overrun by the Ultranationalists. But one thing's for sure (after we seen him at Black Ice), Frost is definitely still alive.

Director: Mccoy! You are supposed to be dead!
Mccoy: Okay. (dies)
Poor Mccoy :(
Imagine if this mission was a lot bigger with the player being able to play as Frost then later as Yuri during the last stand. Though Frost dies with Metal but imagine if the Russian loyalists and Delta force have a joint op, making more sense as the Russians wish to secure their President from Makarov's men
It would be great :)

Theory 2 is super cool and dark and makes sense, sending only one person to set the self destruction while there's a war in their backyard is very smart
Frost was accidentally told the wrong time to rally at the motor pool. The poor dude was waiting there for hours, thinking everyone else was late.
I read online that frost was injured and sss left to recuperate while his team helped price
I always wondered where Ramirez was during the events of MW3 too
like in the 1st mission cutscene you see that the 75th Rangers are still defending the country but there is no cameo of Ramirez in the game
i think it's simply just an overlook. COD games involve hundreds and thousands of people working on it and it's easy to forget a minor character.
i dont think a playable character who player stick with half of the game can be called "minor"
They didn't forget the SAS guys from COD4 during the SAS mission in MW3, they wouldn't forget Frost, if he isn't in the mission there must be a good reason for it.
In a game i played as a kid one dev forgot a person in the game so it's possible

It must be theory 2. Because Frost probably wouldn't even have activated the self destruct if he knew the others were in there. So more than likely, he was given a different mission without being informed of the mission that Price and Sandman was going to do and ended up causing their deaths. Which, I'm sure he would've been wondering where the rest of his team was at this time, but no one would tell him. So they had to have been in different parts of the compound when all of this took place. So... There might've been something bigger going on here than just saving the president on the American side of things.
he literally says "look out"
game subtitles say: "look out"
and your subtitles say "lock out"
do you even can have speak english
but no i like to think that frost gets wounded when doors explode and sandman lands on top of him
makarov's men take president's daughter and frost is no longer combat effective
it makes him sit this one out and when he comes out of the hospital he learns that entire team is dead
This actually reminded me of a thing Delta can do which is opt out of a mission if they're 100% "there". Saw an interview on a podcast of a former Delta guy and that made me think Frost opted out since they were already committing so many assets, they couldn't afford to lose all of Delta.
There won’t be a theory that Sandman died due to Frost trigger self-destruct sequence, because it was involve in combat cooperation: Sandman was sent to that mine with his mission is save Vorshevsky and his daughter, but in the same operation Frost was sent to mine control center to trigger self destruct sequence, both Frost and Sandman must have informed that Sandman is in a hostage rescue mission deep inside the mine and Frost won’t do it if Sandman team is still inside, of course command won’t authorise Frost to do so, except command order Frost to do that
Frost was my favorite mw3 character. Playing as frost was just so cool.
same
For me, He's got The essence of Doom Slayer. Always silent, just doing with actions.
The truth is I will you want to play as frost in the campaign and online multiplayer
Glade to see I am not the only one who wondered this since 2011. Yeah it's a real mystery why the devs decided to not add Frost in this mission, a real shame, always wanted him to be in it.
On the bright side, Frost got to live. Also, I never got to play this spec ops mission so this is my first time knowing it's real content. I had zero chances to connect the dots.
Edit:
3:16 Also, as much it is a memorable and beautiful scene, it IS incredibly ridiculous how not a single enemy shot nor an RPG hit them (except for Sandman in his neck).
Guys frost is McCoy aka “frost” or “frost McCoy” he gets killed by the rpg in the elevator as soon as the mission begins, sorry for the heartbreaking news, he’s the only npc named “McCoy”
