- I finally decided what to do about this 36 Ford build. I said it was a 3'N1 kit in the video but it's actually a 2'N1 kit. Let the games begin.

I never understood why they both molded their 36's that way 🤦 Looking forward to watching, brother, despite design issues on the kit's, 36's are beautiful cars ✌️😁
Thanks man. I guess because it can be made into either a convertible of Coupe but sure puts a lot of questions in my head. Yup, love the 35, 36, & 37 body styles.
I love these 36's, I have an original AMT in the works and my built up candy red one is the Revell kit, overall it went together quite well, have more I'm looking to build eventually!
Yeah, that red 36 looks sharp dude. I like the 35, 36, and 37 body style.
I favor the Monogram kit to. I'll be watching
Thanks Michael. Yup, I'm slowly starting to get things figured out on this one.
I got the AMT kit a while back. Making a hotrod coupe with it. What I did to fill in the gap between the top, and the body was that I used Acraglass bedding epoxy. The gel type this has a 20 minute working time, once its thoroughly mixed. Once it's in place, a famp finger can be used to fill the gap, and blend it in so it doesn't show. Did that with the rumble seat lid as well also blended the cudtom license plate mount with it it looks like just one piece. The twin carb Flathead engine from the Mercury 49 coupe is the engine that is going onto it. It has to sit gor 24 hours to filly cure. Maybe a little light sanding might be needed, but I didn't. With the metalic blue, it's near perfect, no seams visible.
Thanks for the info dude. Sounds like that Acraglass bedding epoxy worked pretty good. Thanks for stopping by.
The AMT 36 Ford in 1/25 introduced about 1962 came with options to build as a convertible or as a 3-window coupe with a chopped top. Fender skirts, a La Salle grille and other Kustom accessories along with hot rod parts were originally included. My brother built a 36 in 1962. The 5-window roof was 1st introduced in the 1990s in the kit cross-marketed with the Dick Tracy movie. The Monogram version now sold under the Revell label is 1/24 scale. It was introduced about 1965/66. It also came with options for convertible or 3 window (not chopped) coupe. The accessories including the La Salle grille looks like they were intentionally imitating the AMT kit. Ive only EVER seen images of 1 full scale 36 Ford with a La Salle grille. Built in the 1950s. So it's not as if it was all the rage in the 1960s.
I appreciate all the info Richard. This one looks to be a bit of a challenge.
Florida has made you soft Airman. We have 4 inches of snow on the ground and snowing. 💪. I like the newer 3 window as well. 👍
Haha....I know right. I'm going to have to get one with a one piece body.
@@olezippi The Revell looks so much better and more into proportions for sure. Not sure who makes a one piece except maybe Flinstone.
I like the 3 window coupe better as well. Will be looking forward to your posts on Model Car Mag forum. Cheers from Nova Scotia...
Thanks Ken. Yup, I'm not much on convertibles and I really like the 3-window coupe. Thanks for watching dude.
Cool update Zippi! I like both kits. The 5 window doesn't look that bad to me. You'll get it figured out.👍
Thanks man. Yeah, I'll save it for down the road and work on it some more.
I never like the way to top goes on with that line on either kit but they both have good points looking forward to seeing how you finish them off
I hear ya man. I'm hoping for a good outcome.
Cool update video Zippi. I like the three window. Ron
Thanks for swinging by Ron. I'm going with the 3-window Coupe.
I've always thought that on those, they should have had the top and body molded together, and then if you wanted the convt., just cut the top off, but I guess this makes modeling what it is. Good luck on the Revell. Looks like less work. Great update, Zippi!
Yeah, no telling what they were thinking when then they come up with these kits. I'm with ya about cutting the top off. I do love the body style though. Thanks for watching man.
Very cool.👍
That's what I'm thinking Mars. Thanks for coming by.
Those are both really neat kits. I have to get one for a future build myself. I really like the wheels/tires that Jay makes. I have picked up some of those and have not been disappointed.
I hear ya Larry. They are Great kits. Next time I'll look for one that has the one piece body. Yup, Jay's is the only place I buy my wheels and tires.
@@olezippi One reason I like Jays is you don't have to worry about shipping.
Jimmie flintstone has a chopped 3 window body, real nice (JMO)
I hear ya Terry but don't think I want another JF body.
You need to get some clamps and glue it then clamp it!
For example, I totally dig Tony Nancy !
I went through 3 kits before I got the double dragster kit right!
Trust me those kit are almost or 50 years old and that's what your model clamps are used for!
I'm not trying to be a know it all but proof is in the pudding!
Well the molds are
Thanks for the info Robert. I appreciate it man. Yup, those molds do have a little wear on them.
I'd definitely go with the 3 window.
Oh yeah. 3-window for me.
Great video buddy.............that Revell is a much better kit Zippi
Yeah Buddy. That's the one I'm going with.
I dont have enough experience with either of these kits to be able to offer any advice or opinions. Im sure it will look great either way.
Thanks Buddy. Seems like every kit has issues for me to tackle.
I'm not of fan of the kits with the seperate top, always a pain to get right
I hear ya Tom. I'm beginning to be the same way.
Punt that AMT kit and build the 3 window. Here’s mine 36 Ford Chop Top Taildragger #kustomsgb FINAL Reveal

I hear ya on the 3-window man. Yeah, that 36 Taildragger looks Awesome.
Hey Zippi- I traded you that 36 5 window. If you'd like I'll trade you back? Or I'll buy it from you if you're done fighting it. Let me know.
Hey, I appreciate it dude but I'll get back to this one down the road. Thanks for coming by.
SUP"R. GLUE BAKING SODA GRR88T. FILLER. BROTH"R !!! ... .. . .😊
