- This video was a silly joke that spiraled out of control, and it was really just one big excuse to experiment with new techniques & tricks for motion capture animation.

I wish that Sven had his strength gained returned. He’s just a creep right now with 0 carry potential. Pretty much a pos 3 or pos 4.
The animation was pretty high quality in this one. Most people tend to hide the legs by having the camera panned on their upper body

This looks fucking fantastic, the camera movements look really natural. It’s hard to say if his movements show enough weight cuz he’s swinging around a big sword like a plastic pool toy (but Sven is a strong guy so it’s hard to say) but overall it looks fantastic
Thank you very much for the kind words! And yeah, that's one thing I was mildly unhappy with. I was planning on using a big heavy pickaxe I've got lying around in the basement when recording the performance, but I completely forgot about it, and I grabbed a broom instead, which is much lighter.
I also took the decision to let the sword be almost always be driven by the FK hands (so that I wouldn't have to just go over the whole 130 seconds and keyframe an IK target), but during some parts the wrists got a bit noisy and it definitely diminishes the feeling of weightiness. There are a handful of seconds where I overrode that and ended up keyframing an IK target, but in some instances I had like 20 hierarchical space switches already set up and I couldn't do certain things without causing destructive ripple effects.
But hey, live and learn 😀 this thing was a big... well, grossly oversized excuse to experiment with lots of techniques.

Holy shit how are all the textures in your sfms so high quality? I don’t remember sven’s armor nor his sword looking that good in the actual game. I don’t even remember if he blinks ingame as well.

Pangolier doesn't particularly interest me, though generally I wouldn't mind making little videos here and there that exploit the hundreds of dialogue lines between characters, so given the material that exists there, Pangolier *may* be part of such a video at some point

Hallo Max, I have question, I turned mapLightScale to 0 so I can set the light scene manually. I able to light objects like trees, heroes, creeps, rocks, etc. The problem is I can't light the river; it stays black/dark. How do you light the river like in this video?
