I’m a cardiac ICU RN. With any type of stress we encounter our body processes it the same. The stress could come from cheer leading, our jobs or even hard laughter. Stress is stress on the body.

I use a flat plastic surface to pump or drop foundations onto then use the brush or sponge. I am trying to think of examples, but I use an old parking hang tag. I think, though you could easily use the lid of a plastic food container like hummus or something. It recycles after time and is more hygienic. Additionally if I use a color that has too much gold or yellow (I'm your shade roughly) I can scrape in some blush and cool it down to the right shade on the little palette. Also, please be kind to yourself. You do such an amazing job here, it's a lot of work.

Amazon has a pump for the matte and poreless that fits on that foundation too. It’s not a perfect fit and if you screw it to far, it pops off. But it kind of works and gets the job done if you store it upright.

When you were speaking about coaching, I was getting teacher vibes. Relating to investing in these students, the stress, and performance anxiety. Now multiply that 17 kids by 5 or 6 ( or in my case who teach an entire building of 600+ kids) and do it day after day, year after year. No amount of brightner is going to touch the impact teaching for 29 years shows in my face!

Omg, Emily, I absolutely love you and your videos! My daughter is 16 and an elite cheer athlete. I know everything you’re talking about when it comes to that. My daughter has learned how to be a team player, how to take constructive criticism, how winning feels and how to cheer on opposing teams. It’s been the best thing in her life. She has been cheering since she was 5. I absolutely love hearing you talk about makeup, but it’s a pure bonus to hear about cheer. The love , joy and concern you show for your Team is so heartwarming to see Cheer is an extremely competitive Sport that most people do not understand just how competitive it is , and yes it’s a Sport the things they do requires so much training , skill and natural talent it’s very much on par with Gymnastics they overlap greatly in the flips, tumbling and training. Once those kids start to get older the competitiveness is really going to emerge and some kids will choose to leave because it’s not fun anymore, others will up their own game and really start to show their eagerness for Competition but never ever be mislead about how much strength and talent is needed in this Sport . I think any child or teen that gets to experience your Coaching is very lucky you show love , encouragement, training and support to any child that shows up in the Gym you’re Coaching in .
I had the same issue with that foundation. I had to get a lighter shade because I guess I purchased it in the summer when I was at my summer shade. So now now I have one for the summer and one for the winter.😅 I love those Nyx concealers. I already have 2 shades. I may get that pink shade now.😅 That's great that you're coaching with the cheerleading. I have 3 kids too. I spoke with a friend of my husband's wt a wedding and their daughter does cheerleadering that she started in 4th grade. They said it was more work then they thought with having to take her to compititions and all. Hee husband said he remembered going into a room where he saw a bunch of girls getting ready for a show and putting on makeup!😅 She likes it though.😊 Thanks for the video!
Have confidence in what you're doing and the girls will follow your lead. Life's a hard gift. It always will be. It's ok to understand that and keep going. Turning a new page is sometimes getting deeper into the story and it's not always a cheer, but worth it.

Sending prayers. I totally understand and feel the same . Worry and fear for me is hanging around. My mom needs surgery and we are in the insurance will pay or not or for what. Just stress besides she is not feeling good and in pain just the crappy part of life but i need to be more grateful and happy. She is here with me so life is good and beautiful.
❤I am sending you the biggest hugs 🤗. This really has bed a difficult season that has had significant trauma. Your body is dealing with it by trying to compensate and keep you going. But, from my experience, when your nervous system starts to feel a shift , it can feel like you’re falling completely apart. That’s normal! Give yourself grace. Remember that you are safe. And feel what you feel. Your doing an amazing job during a very tough time. ❤

My kids r grown now .. all that running around prepping for family - sports running around , kids needing u .. stops and u find and I’ll tell u it starts slow u kinda feel it coming but unsure of the feelings Then Boom ..kids r on there Own they luv u , u worry but they become who u have taught them to be You are an amazing mum .. raising my kids was the best years of my life .. constant conditioning camps , travel Hockey, pga golf , different coaches , ie: dance , routine etc Saturday’s was 4 different coaches US figure skating plus synchro team figure skating do traveling around and life being about them on the daily The money iv spent the time was all for them .. Now it’s about u !!❤ Now it’s time for me .. trying to find that space & grow w it ..

Em, I have been enjoying you for years I rarely comment but I lost my dad 2-16-1978. I was a kid and it was cancer. We never really knew how to talk about it and thankfully leaned on each other, five kids total. I am so glad your dad is doing well because there is nothing like a daddy for our little girl heart that defines us and in turn our relation to life.. it is that way for me It's okay to take the time or turn over a leaf but know this is love Anyway thank you for being my happy place all these years and so many incredible affordable recommendations! I'm listening to describe your coaching experience and that's just like teaching in general I was a teacher and all children have a different learning style and some like to learn from paper some like to learn from modeling and seeing someone else some learn better independently some learn better in a group. Emily, something I have learned through therapy that it is ok to feel down, feel sad, have a hard time. You’re going through a lot. We can’t judge ourselves for having these feelings because then we feel guilt. 🤍
😊Happy Tuesday!!! An idea😅 could you maybe do a video w tips how to integrate colours /work w colours into your eye look. For example the ELF bite size Candy Carnival or the Acai You have very pretty colours and I'm not always clear how to work with them. Like anything to consider when building the look so it looks balanced and not too harsh, how to (not) blend the colours together, colour placement etc. I often notice that people tend to overblend so the actual colour gets lost, altered or muddied which is a shame but you need to somehow make the look seamless.
My high blood pressure comes in when I go to get shade matched. I love how you always shade match well. The Bp makes my skin really red. I think instead of using pinky undertones I was matched with I’m going to try more yellow tones. I have no idea where to start. Too faced maybe

I noticed as you were showing it that it says “Blush & Highlighter Palette” on the front near the bottom. The highlighter you used is very pretty on the skin. Emily, I wear the same shade as you for the maybelline skin tint! At first I accidentally bought 220 (warm medium) cause I’m usually not in the light category (more light medium), but it was SO deep for my skin I was surprised! I thought 120 would be too light so I would have to mix the two, but nope, shade match! I get the feeling this line runs deeper than usual

I’ve always had oily skin. I also have milia under my eyes that don’t go away without a dermatologist removing them. Ouch! So I tend to shy away from moisturizing under my eyes which isn’t good either but I have very few wrinkles also at my age. Do you have a suggestion for an eye cream that doesn’t increase or increase the milia? Thank you! So glad to hear about the joy you feel with your Dads recovery and coaching the “mini cheerleaders”. For me, the Maybeline skin tint is much better. I have very oily skin but the skin tint, though very slightly radiant (or sheen as you said), looks much better on my skin than the L’Oréal. The L’Oréal serum didn’t do much for me. I did find a pump on Amazon for the skin tint.
Been thru something similar with my Dad this year, and even tho things have settled down, still find myself in "high alert" mode. Kind of a type of anxiety. I think it's a very mild form of PTSD, but actually comes from a good survival instinct gone haywire. The body/mind perceives trauma and stress as a form of danger, because they both trigger cortisol release. If we encounter something negative (traumatic stress) and our mind/body decides it's a type of danger, then the mind will go over and over it as a way to prevent you from encountering that again. That works great if you encounter a ratttle snake... you always keep an eye out for it next time! But it goes haywire a bit when it's emotional stress. I think the mind does the exact same thing....but it's not helpful. Unfortunately, it keeps you in that state of high alert/anxiety, which releases cortisol, which negatively affects the immune system. And your body is more likely to get sick. At least I sure did! I'm so sorry you are going through this!! It's so, so hard. I wish you , your Dad and your whole family good health, peace of mind and well being!

I just ditched the L'Oréal skin serum and have been using the Maybelline one. For me it wears better and i am oily and almost 46 years old for reference. I use a mattifying primer with it.

Emily, I wish my daughter had a basketball coach this year just like you. She would've had an amazing experience. She's in 7 th grade. Her coach benched her for almost the whole season. She's not the best player but so wanted to be on a team with her friends. Her self esteem was broken. The coach only cared about the win. I was so hurt for my daughter. She ended up quitting at playoffs because she just was so hurt. it broke my heart

The love , joy and concern you show for your Team is so heartwarming to see Cheer is an extremely competitive Sport that most people do not understand just how competitive it is , and yes it’s a Sport the things they do requires so much training , skill and natural talent it’s very much on par with Gymnastics they overlap greatly in the flips, tumbling and training. Once those kids start to get older the competitiveness is really going to emerge and some kids will choose to leave because it’s not fun anymore, others will up their own game and really start to show their eagerness for Competition but never ever be mislead about how much strength and talent is needed in this Sport . I think any child or teen that gets to experience your Coaching is very lucky you show love , encouragement, training and support to any child that shows up in the Gym you’re Coaching in .
I had the same issue with that foundation. I had to get a lighter shade because I guess I purchased it in the summer when I was at my summer shade. So now now I have one for the summer and one for the winter.😅 I love those Nyx concealers. I already have 2 shades. I may get that pink shade now.😅 That's great that you're coaching with the cheerleading. I have 3 kids too. I spoke with a friend of my husband's wt a wedding and their daughter does cheerleadering that she started in 4th grade. They said it was more work then they thought with having to take her to compititions and all. Hee husband said he remembered going into a room where he saw a bunch of girls getting ready for a show and putting on makeup!😅 She likes it though.😊

Sending prayers. I totally understand and feel the same . Worry and fear for me is hanging around. My mom needs surgery and we are in the insurance will pay or not or for what. Just stress besides she is not feeling good and in pain just the crappy part of life but i need to be more grateful and happy. She is here with me so life is good and beautiful.

But, from my experience, when your nervous system starts to feel a shift , it can feel like you’re falling completely apart. That’s normal! Give yourself grace. Remember that you are safe. You are an amazing mum .. raising my kids was the best years of my life .. constant conditioning camps , travel Hockey, pga golf , different coaches , ie: dance , routine etc Saturday’s was 4 different coaches US figure skating plus synchro team figure skating do traveling around and life being about them on the daily

Em, I have been enjoying you for years I rarely comment but I lost my dad 2-16-1978. I was a kid and it was cancer. We never really knew how to talk about it and thankfully leaned on each other, five kids total. I am so glad your dad is doing well because there is nothing like a daddy for our little girl heart that defines us and in turn our relation to life.. it is that way for me It's okay to take the time or turn over a leaf but know this is love Anyway thank you for being my happy place all these years and so many incredible affordable recommendations! I'm listening to describe your coaching experience and that's just like teaching in general I was a teacher and all children have a different learning style and some like to learn from paper some like to learn from modeling and seeing someone else some learn better independently some learn better in a group. My experience coaching cheer was the same. Have fun ❤🎉

😊Happy Tuesday!!! An idea😅 could you maybe do a video w tips how to integrate colours /work w colours into your eye look. For example the ELF bite size Candy Carnival or the Acai You have very pretty colours and I'm not always clear how to work with them. Like anything to consider when building the look so it looks balanced and not too harsh, how to (not) blend the colours together, colour placement etc. I often notice that people tend to overblend so the actual colour gets lost, altered or muddied which is a shame but you need to somehow make the look seamless.
My high blood pressure comes in when I go to get shade matched. I love how you always shade match well. The Bp makes my skin really red. I think instead of using pinky undertones I was matched with I’m going to try more yellow tones. I have no idea where to start. Too faced maybe

💥I am definitely going to keep a look out 👀 for that L.A. Colors palette. This is the first I’ve heard about the LAC blush & highlighter palette. I noticed as you were showing it that it says “Blush & Highlighter Palette” on the front near the bottom. The highlighter you used is very pretty on the skin. I’m sure all of the shades can be used on the eyes too. I also think I’m going to pick up the PF bronzer serum drops. Thank you for bringing these products to my attention Emily! Emily, I wear the same shade as you for the maybelline skin tint! At first I accidentally bought 220 (warm medium) cause I’m usually not in the light category (more light medium), but it was SO deep for my skin I was surprised! I thought 120 would be too light so I would have to mix the two, but nope, shade match! I get the feeling this line runs deeper than usual

I’ve always had oily skin. I also have milia under my eyes that don’t go away without a dermatologist removing them. Ouch! So I tend to shy away from moisturizing under my eyes which isn’t good either but I have very few wrinkles also at my age.
Do you have a suggestion for an eye cream that doesn’t increase or increase the milia? Thank you!

For me, the Maybeline skin tint is much better. I have very oily skin but the skin tint, though very slightly radiant (or sheen as you said), looks much better on my skin than the L’Oréal. The L’Oréal serum didn’t do much for me. I did find a pump on Amazon for the skin tint.

Been thru something similar with my Dad this year, and even tho things have settled down, still find myself in "high alert" mode. Kind of a type of anxiety. I think it's a very mild form of PTSD, but actually comes from a good survival instinct gone haywire. The body/mind perceives trauma and stress as a form of danger, because they both trigger cortisol release. If we encounter something negative (traumatic stress) and our mind/body decides it's a type of danger, then the mind will go over and over it as a way to prevent you from encountering that again. That works great if you encounter a ratttle snake... you always keep an eye out for it next time! But it goes haywire a bit when it's emotional stress. I think the mind does the exact same thing....but it's not helpful. Unfortunately, it keeps you in that state of high alert/anxiety, which releases cortisol, which negatively affects the immune system. And your body is more likely to get sick. At least I sure did! I'm so sorry you are going through this!! It's so, so hard. I wish you , your Dad and your whole family good health, peace of mind and well being!

I just ditched the L'Oréal skin serum and have been using the Maybelline one. For me it wears better and i am oily and almost 46 years old for reference. I use a mattifying primer with it.

Emily, I wish my daughter had a basketball coach this year just like you. She would've had an amazing experience. She's in 7 th grade. Her coach benched her for almost the whole season. She's not the best player but so wanted to be on a team with her friends. Her self esteem was broken. The coach only cared about the win. I was so hurt for my daughter. She ended up quitting at playoffs because she just was so hurt. it broke my heart
