RonaldBruner Jr drummer is killing it
I like how Terrace can get away with those solos.
I dont know what exactly you mean but i can definitely say he has a really nice dark tone and you can definitely hear the Kenny Garrett influence in his playing.
I LIE!
@@thechunkytrucker5111 Kenny Garrett is so nice, and so is Terrace!!
Obviously never heard of Ornette Coleman
Whatchu mean "get away with?" Bro.

Terrace is speaking for real!!!
Unfortunately, he's been repeating himself a lot lately, and the conversations may soon get dull.

Shessh this is so 🔥🔥🔥
Estava ansioso pra ver o Ronald Bruner Jr. !!!!!!!!!
Sos !!!The house is on 🔥
Wouaw!!Felt like my spirit travelled back in the 60's best modal/free jazz moments genuinely, despite i was born a decade after!. How skillfull and inspired are those musicians... The pianist reminded me a bit of George Cables sound and style of play . The way he paints the harmonic canvas of this hectic piece makes a real balance within the storm of the rythm section. What a top-class performance!
Love and admiration! Bravo!
💎🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is off the hook bruh 🤙🏾🔥🔥🔥
DRONES is Jazz's Detox!
this year lol
1:33 the only thing he played that I can actually play on sax.

Thumbs down for placing an ad right before the drop.
This is dope tho
There was an ad there? That's strange, we did not choose that. We'll look into it. Thanks for letting us know!
That baby is so well behaved!!!
came here cause ii thought the vid pic had kendrick lamar in it, was not disappointed
Is that Mr. Carmack behind Terrace?
Ok...NOW I believe in God
the playing of the national anthem is almost like he's mocking current day US, love it

i was thinking the same !
Thundercats brother
o wow. quite the family
Eddy Murphy on keyboards!
That’s Paul Cornish
Bass player is a metronome
Is that Mr Carmack in the background??
Anyone know the chord progression for the solo section??
It just sounds like the one chord is Cminor and theyre just expanding upon that by collectively improvising and listening to each other. If youve heard "2 Down and 1 Across" by Kenny Garrett, youll see how similar it is to this. The solo section to "2 Down and 1 Across" is just one chord, Ebminor and the band expands upon it. Also, in "2 Down and 1 Across," theres an intro where the sax plays something and the drums come bursting in, just like in this performance. One can clearly hear Kenny Garrett's influence in Terrance's playing, it wouldnt be too far fetched to say "2 Down and 1 Across" influnced this song.
...it's a minor blues
Браче привет! Как можно привести (прости не про тебя лайк поставил и подписался) SIA в Россию

Terrace, man, no offense, but you know that your drummer stole this show, don't you?
Probably why he hired him.
yes i do ! i love him and he makes us all play better
@@Salerballer Bruner Jr. is H.E.A.V.Y!
🙄
Ron is such a great drummer..no question on that..but i dont like his attitude..many of his videos he doesn't show humility..hope he gets mature and humble as he grows older
Noticed that too when i saw him at the blue note with Kenny Garrett back in November 🤷♂️ cant stand people with big egos
Their's more than a little bit to be said for "PERSONAL EQUATION ", and when giving an OPINION ,an occasional MODIFIER/QUALIFIER tends to come in handy.
No
Ok not trying to disparage Terrace Martins musicianship but i find that he used the same licks over and over, as well as in kendricks song untitled no 5. He does it like 6 times in this solo. I started calling it the Kendrick Lamar mode
Guilty as charged.
I'm trying to throw him a bone and say that it's his 'signature lick'-- but repetition IS repetition, and it's not often commended.
I must agree, that is the ONE downside to hearing him play.
Christian Scott has a lick he plays all the time. So does Chad Lefkowitz Brown. If you really pay attention, when Chad does that thing where he spits out like 1000 notes super fast, everytime he does it its the same exact thing. I saw a video compilation someone put together of about a dozen different times Chad does it, and everytime it's the same thing. Does that really count as a "downside"? How about John Coltranes licks, or Charlie Parker's licks that they'd use over and over again? Does that make them hard to listen to? At the end of the day music is music, improvisation is just making music in the spot, and we have a long line of legendary musicians going all the way back to Sidney Bechet who would play the same licks over and over again. Frankly, it might even be to one's benefit. I hear Terrance Martin playing, and i know its him right off the bat. Thats not something you can say about a lot of sax players.
The Chunky Trucker here’s the deal. Of course Parker and Coltrane repeated lines. Take A love Supreme. It’s pretty much the same line the entire time. But to me, this solo didn’t feel like anything. It was just the same line, the same way, same phrasing. And that’s the same reason why I don’t like Chad LB. (He was actually one of my combo instructors for a minute...) I think that terrace is a great musician and a good player, I just don’t feel any varsity when playing this kind of music
