Great as usual, I’m sooooo looking forward to when you get the R5ii. That will help a lot of people decide R5ii or R5C. Me included, even though they are two different cameras.
Hey Josh! I'm extracting incredible value from this resource for my own personal R5C. Just a suggestion, but maybe you can re-title your video as simply Canon Cinema menu walkthrough. It could potentially reach larger audiences who have cinema cameras and simply overlook your very helpful guide because their cameras are mentioned at the very end.
Thanks for the suggestion. From my many years of experience on UA-cam people actually search by camera model. I did put that it in the description which should help for search. Glad you found value in the video and thanks for watching!
Hey Josh wanted to ask a question. Is there a difference in recording quality between recording on a computer vs recording on an external recorder like an átomos?
I waited years to go back to Canon and bought the R5C!! It was frustrating at the time to discover that this camera doesn't do something as simple as any cheap camera does: activate the Rec remotely through the app!! I, who work with jib cameras, got frustrated with lowering a jib into the public and having to send someone every time to start or stop the Rec!! I'm seriously thinking about going back to Sony!!
man what a complete guide, this could easily be a paid course but here you are giving it away!
Thanks Jake! That's just how I roll. Always trying to embrace that abundance mindset.
Yes I still feel like this is a underated camera, the battery life scared a lot of people away! But I’m glad made this purchase!
Agree! The ability to customise the R5C in so many different ways is practical and very useful. Love the image also.
Always appreciate your R5C guides! From what I’ve seen, this channel has been a great resource for users of this camera 👍
You are very welcome! Thanks for watching the guides!
Agreed - as an R5C user it definitely has been!
@sethcoogan Glad the videos have been helpful for you too!
30 mins in and found two features I never had turned on, lol. Your videos are so great Josh, thank you!

Incredible breakdown! Even after having this camera for like 7 months now, I still learned a few new things. Thanks Josh!

Truely appreciated of your efforts! R5C is a far different genre of camera that is why your video is essential.
You are very welcome. Thanks for watching!
Thought I knew the R5C menus fairly well but always something else to learn. Very comprehensive guide, thanks.
You're welcome. Yeah it's pretty crazy how deep the menus are in the R5C.
so wonderfully explained.
Thanks for watching!

Hey mate, between sony a1 and canon r5c, what camera do you recommend ? Most time gonna be used for video and sometimes for photo.
Hey Josh wanted to ask a question. Is there a difference in recording quality between recording on a computer vs recording on an external recorder like an átomos?
It depends on how your computer records the footage. Resolution, codec, bitrate, etc.

Hi josh the fan on my r5c is always on during the standby mode . Is it normal ?
Yes, you generally want that to keep the camera cooler inbetween takes.
Do I need an external battery to shoot super 35 6k 60 fps or super 16 3k 60 fps on R5c, as in 8k 60 fps?
You do not. I show in this video how you can check which type of power you need for different codec/framerate options.
@@Josh_Sattin thanks
after canon r5mii dynamic range fail they got no excuse to not giving us c log 2 on r5c
Still bugs me that the R5C doesn't support any wireless functionality in video mode, it's literally there, they just decided you couldn't have it haha
It’s to conserve power and let battery last longer. Imagine a camera with only 15min of record time?
