    Hotel mattresses are always SO much more comfortable than the one you sleep on at home. Why is that? It turns out that it's not just the brand of mattress that matters. There are a LOT of little extra things that hotels add to make sure you get a good night of sleep...

    Question - when you say use two down comforters, you mean put two in the same duvet? Or do you mean use one as your base layer, almost as a mattress topper? I started to wonder after mentioning hip/shoulder support.

      he uses the wrong term. The down thing that's on the mattress is called a down or feather bed. that goes on top of your mattress that you sleep on. The one that covers you is called a duvet. Or down comforter if you're American. The cover is called a duvet cover.

      I wish there was a written source to reference. With your comment, I now think he is saying 1) mattress, 2) latex mattress topper, 3) feather bed, 4) bottom and flat sheets, 5) 2x down comforters (aka duvets) inside a single duvet cover.

    Some hotels mattresses were too firm for me that I preferred my own

      Yeah, sometimes when hotels are looking to cut cost they just go with a cheap firmer mattress and hope no one will notice, we notice though lol

    Pillows are terrible tho

    I don't find hotel pillows to EVER be comfortable. They invariably go flat, and the more expensive hotels don't seem to make a difference in that regard.

      Ya know what, I should've done a segment on that! I can't agree more, it's the one area even the best hotels seem to just drop the ball on.

      @@Sleepline I guess there’s a reason some people bring their own pillows to hotels😀

    Wyndham resorts have the best beds and pillows.

    That’s odd. Cause the last few hotels I stayed in had awful beds.

    I'm confused by the down comforter thing. You speak as if you sleep ON the comforter? Aren't they blankets?

    • @marieanne2680
      @marieanne2680 Місяць тому

      he means a down or feather bed. The down comforter is actually called a Duvet and yes, you sleep under it. You sleep on the feather bed, and sleep under the duvet.
