I've been listening to Nick Cave for about 33 years....and I reckon I seen him smile more times here than in those combined 30 odd years.

Kylie Cave and Nicky Minogue! This is a duet for the ages and ages well. So beautiful to see them show their friendship.
Very moving, you can see that they're both really fond of one another.
I have a biography of him, written years before this duet, in which Kylie gives a pull quote along the lines of 'so interesting!' So apparently the connection, or at least admiration, predates this. :)
Tim Emm Nick was a fan of Kylie since she left Ramsay St, writing a few songs for her but scrapping them until this one. They really like each other as friends and musicians.

I remember when this came out it mede me look at Kylie in a whole new light. I love Nick Cave and this song is awesome.
I used to listen to this song when I was around 7 or 8 years old, they used to play it a lot on VH1 classic (I think?), I didn't know what it was about since I didn't understand English much back then and was to young to grasp the meaning from the video, and I didn't know it was Kylie singing it. then years later I found out that the artist who sang one of my most hated songs from childhood "I can't get you out of my head", is the same person who sang this song, which is kinda funny because it was when I was in my teenage "rebel mode" and hated pop artists like her with passion.

Became a fan of her in summer 1989 when I was on vacation in France at the Atlantic coast and the local radio station Super Radio FM played her single 24/7... Big sigh.... Evolution from a pop singer with the Stock Aitken Waterman sound to a really gorgeous artist and such a beautiful lady. She has more charme in her little finger than most "new kylies" will ever have in her life...

I finally listened to the album this is off of to see if there was a live version of the song. I'm enamoured with this. I always thought Adam cohen and del ray singing chelsea hotel was pure love. But THIS. Nick Cave is just brings another level of professionalism to his performances. His charisma is genuinely unmatched by anyone except Leonard Cohen

Just to let you all know, I saw Nick Cave live a few years ago and it was like rapture in a travelling salvation show. The best.
Did you see him solo or with The Bad Seeds? Trying to decide if he’s worth seeing solo, the closest venue is six hours away.
@@PatientenO.T. Full band with Warren Ellis, He and Nick have strong stage presence. The venue was small(2000 people indoors) and very intimate.I rank it up there with Tom Waits, Rage Against the Machine, Tool, White Zombie, Nine Inch Nails and others. Some artists just blow you away when they get in front of you. Its like they play to you like it was the last day of their lives. Nick is one of those people who will release himself to the crowd if they are tuned in. He becomes more intense as he feeds from the crowd. I've seen a lot of artists perform live and some of them are like watching paint dry on a wall.
I prefer to be engaged and not just observe.
