  • I found a great deal on a brand new in box Smittybilt Overlander Gen2 XL roof top tent on Facebook marketplace. Join us as we install it on our ‪@HookeRoad4x4‬ bed rack and get the tent all setup for the 1st time.
Let me know you all want me to do a video timing me as I set it up and close it. Obviously, the 1st time or 2 takes longer until you figure out what you’re doing a few times. Maybe after I use it a few times I can. Do a video showing the setup/take down time? Let me know!!

Nice setup! I believe wingnuts would work great for the quick disconnects on the ladder attachment.

So far I tried “uxcell Ball Locking Pins, 304 Stainless Steel Grip Push-Button Locking Quick Release Pin” from Amazon. Not a perfect fit but wing nuts might be simpler 😂

Great video even if you couldn’t hold on to those nuts and washers! 😊

Great video. That's a good-looking tent. It just barely fits in the garage. I was wondering for a minute if you were going to have to air down to get it to fit. 😂

Thanks!!! 😂😂 I was lucky! I can it do it with the ladder on top under the tent cover tho. But that’s not too bad. Went camping with it 2 nights last weekend and it did great! That video will be next Saturday. We have a rattlesnake surprise in that video too 😂

Nice video. Having had 2 of the gen 2 tents the covers and the zippers are the big problems. Make sure you lube the zippers periodically. For the price these tents are great.

Never even heard of zipper lube. 😂😂 I appreciate the tips! Ya I had a chance for a good deal on a hard shell wedge style but it would have been longer and stuck out more past the end of tailgate, more expensive, and also would not have had as much room inside

When you are on the road travelling to campsite and you are loaded at the back do you used 2wd or 4wd?

My god speak up! My husband and I are trying to find out about the process of setting up the tent and you are just mumbling. You showing us the process is fine but you just mumbling through the process is extremely distracting.

@@brittaniforsure I just need an external microphone instead of relying on the phone camera……. 🤷🏻‍♂️ 😂 Sorry! Camera phone won’t pick it up very well if more than a few feet away apparently
