Yeah mate I tend to wait a year or two for this very reason. That and it usually takes a year or so before a new system starts to find itself and the games start to flow.
Realistically though i have to thank early buyers because without them such issues are detected far less frequently and the fixes implemented more slowly.

@AnTea Matter lol PS5 assasins creed valhalla loads faster on the Ps5. You might as well drop the back ward compatible titles because thats a hit and miss as well. Witcher on bc mode loads 10x faster than series x version. Any next gen games load faster on the PS5. Even the PS5 cold boot loads faster than quick resume. Though I don’t expect a console warrior like you to know this. And what happened with multi-plats performing best on series x? Ac valhalla performs better on the Ps5. So much for the “tower of power”.🤣🤣🤣

Most of the issues will probably get ironed out through software updates
Exactly what I’ve been saying, a lot of these seem to be software bugs that can be ironed out with updates and will get ironed out with updates. Some of course will have hardware defects that I’m sure are under warranty

Actually most of these issues are GPU issue and that’s called artifacts so the console needs to be replaced

Mine is going back. I have the same crashes when starting any game (PS5 or PS4). It even crashed when doing a simple disc copy for Ghost of Tsushima. Definitely not worth buying for another 6months to a year. So glad i stayed up refreshing the browser to get it on pre-order

I've had mine for a week now with no issues. Stuff like this really had me worried when I was waiting for my preorser to arrive but I'm convinced it must be like every one in fifty that shits the bed like this.

3: You have to have a good tv

Turn off internet connection in settings when booting up a game and then turn it back on once it’s booted. If it’s a non online game just keep it off while your playing. This seems to be one of the causes for the random turn off due to the console trying to download an update for the game that it already has even if it doesn’t show it downloading.. it’s similar to the bug on Xbox. Once it happens once hold down power and rebuild data base or it will repeat regardless. Also turn off rest mode that also can cause it for some and turn off all auto updates and auto installs and HDMI device link. Also keep the game preset to performance mode but you can change it in the game if you want. These are all the things relating to the hard crash bug and it’s worked for me especially turning off internet connection. Avoid external hard drives as well. Hope this helps.. patches will fix the bugs soon but gotta be patient.

Just so people know, most of the issues shown in this video probably won't happen to you. Its normal for 3-5% of devices to be defective.
My Series X works like a charm. Doesn't matter how graphic intense a game is, it's always quite and is inaudible if I'm a meter away from it.
I do hope everyone with a faulty console gets a new one or their money back.
