    hello, you always talk about buying houses...do you also talk about land or rentals...or other comercial real estate? do you aproach it the same way?

    I don’t understand. Do listing agents work for companies and do sellers call them up for their services, or do listing agents literally need to seek people who want to seek their homes- like go knocking on their doors or advertise independently?

      John Garcia Who’s saying anything about getting anything handed to them? I would imagine people who want to sell their homes would call a real estate company to get help. If you work for that company- it seems obvious that you just got yourself a client. Seems odd to go knocking on doors or cold-calling asking strangers to see if they want to sell their homes. Also seems odd to count on your family or local contacts to sell their homes to support your family. I would understand advertising yourself through a real estate co. to reach a broader audience, but peddling your services independently sounds impractical, at least not until you have a well known reputation or can start a co. of your own. You can shove your sarcastic comment up you ass.

      @@ALLINKNOTS it was not sarcastic, you think people will just reach out to you and that is how you get all your clients? if it was that easy there would not be a 70-80 percent failure rate in the real estate industry. Cold calling people from expired listings, for sale by owner, etc, door knocking are all essential. You have got to find your own clients. If someone calls the real estate company for help odds are they are getting sent to the very top performer of that company and not you. it was not sarcastic, he is right, clients wont just be handed to you
