Well here it is! 4 year update, my annual post-minoxidil beard update! Showing further proof that it is permanent assuming you use it long enough for the new hairs to fully mature and go terminal
I stopped using Minox 4 years ago too, and I can confirm, it is permanent AS LONG as you use it for long enough to let your hair get terminal (dark and thick.)

Today makes the one year mark for me and still have a long way to go. I'm 30 years old. I've gotten a tremendous amount of gains so far. About half way to where I want it to be. Got a TON on new hairs on my cheeks now. I can confirm it works.

Same is the result for me. I stop using minoxidil two years back, but my beard is intact. So for all those who are all going to use minoxidil, be careful not to abuse it. Because I over used it and in my country it was easily accessible to have 12% and 15% minoxidil. So don’t do that mistake use it wisely in breaks and don’t cross the 5% limit. Today I have complete beard but some side-effects on my cardio vascular system due to it. So in nutshell, it is a great product but you have to be very careful while using it. Don’t abuse it…

@@tryuwer6746 good for u then...in my third cycle after 8 months i saw a stagnation after 8 months....so i started using 10% for 2 months ...then i saw tremendous results after that...but side effects started to surface so i stopped it permanently(but in those 2 months i have seen follicles arise from area where they would never grow)...and now it has been more than 2 years and all gains are still intact.
I used minox on my beard for 2 years straight twice a day. After that I slowly weened off on the last few bottles lasting about 7-8 more months I believe. Now I haven’t used any for the last few months and it’s gotten thinner. The areas that were not the strongest have gotten worse and overall the beard grows slower. It’s still full enough to have a beard it’s just not as thick. Sucks but I hope it doesn’t get worse.
You have to remember you're most likely not going to keep all of your beard gains. I kept around 90% i'd say. There is always a chance you may have to use a little longer though if it keeps fallinf out. Hopefully that's not the case here

@@nabila.1967 hopped back on minox to try to fill in thinner areas. Been like 2 months and my beard is thicker again. Gonna continue it for another 2 years probably to try to make the areas terminal
@@_JM-have you tried collagen supplements? Apparently it helps the minoxidil process in that it helps make the temporary hairs permanent.

Minoxidil works on you because you have patchy beard at initial and it is covered by minoxidil.but what about others who doesn't have hair follicles at all on their sides of the chin only having hair under the lips ,if those kind of people use the minoxidil for a years then will beard stay permanent or not when minoxidil Stop using it.suggest me anyone in this case can i use minoxidil or not.
You never really know unless you try it. I think the best way to determine if it will work is looking at your father, uncles, brothers and see if they can grow a beard. If they can then there is hope for people who want to try Minoxidil. And it should be permanent
My father only has goty not full beard and i tried minoxidil for 1 month I got complete shape of beard then i stopped everything I got shade off.i think it mainly depends on genetics.

Foam because it usually has less side effects and dries within a few minutes. I think liquid may be slightly more effective

Yeah you can ruse the roller now if you want. I only used the roller a few times because my results were already strong, so I didn't really need it

Usually twice since that's the maximum you should really use it. I dermarolled maybe 5 times but already had most of my coverage by the time i used it so i didn't notice any difference.

I used it for a total of 26 or 27 months. I used it for 14 months straight and lost some gains after 4 months off. Then used it for another year or so and this time i slowly quit with my final bottle. I would assume 3 years should be long enough

I did not. I have heard a few people have the same concern as well though

It really depends. I quit for 4 months after 16 months straight of use and my beard was falling off. I used for for another 10-11 months and now about 90% of it or so is permanent. I also did taper off the second time I stopped, so idk if that helped me keep it or not

I used for 7 months; stopped for 3 and lost a lot of hair; and then I started back about 5 months and regain all of it. How much do you think I should keep using, more 7 months to reach one year?
I took my break after 16 months and lost a lot after 4 months off. I had to use for another 10-11 months and quit slowly and now about 90% or so has stayed. I would definitely agree to keep using longer

hello man, i used minoxidil for 3 years, from 20 till 23 years old, and already have 25 years old and honestly i'm tired of the beard, i feel that wasted my life, i feel more old, and i'm tired of shaving all days :(

I don't think there is really anything you can do to reverse the minoxil beard. I hate shaving too, so my only suggestion is to buy a foil trimer since it's faster and less irritating than shaving with a blade
@@LanDope my beard is more similar to yours, weak moustache but the rest full bushy then eeven with a trimmer my beard is very dark, even with shave is very shaddy, for this reason i feel that i've fucking my face, i just have 25 years, myy only hope is lose profit but i don't know if could be possible

Not really, maybe one side of my moustache connected quicker than the other, but it was all pretty even for the most part
How you trim properly beard on your neck? i've used minox too for the past year, but my beard seems grown fast especially on neck rather than cheeks.
I usually just make a line following my jaw line about a half inch to an inch below. There is tons od great tutorials on youtube that will help a lot more than i can
Hello bro, how should I “slowly” stop minoxidil? Been using it now for almost 3 years and want to stop 1st quarter of 2024. Ive built a good foundation of beard (dark & strong). A little afraid of losing it tho to where I started
On my final bottle i applied once a day for a week, then once every 2 days for a week, then keep skipping an extra day every week until you finish the bottle
Im afraid to use minox cause some say it could affect your heart or libido negatively but I want a dense beard real bad. And its even more tempting because i have a good base for a beard on my face but its just not dense enough with lots of blonde immature follicles. Im almost certain that if i start minox ill get good results. Ive seen people get solid beards with way less than what i have b4 starting but im afraid to.
Heart palpitations are a possible side effect but I have no experienced that or libido issues. You can apply slowly such as once a day or once every 2 days for a week or 2 and see how you react to it

I never had side effects aside from super dry skin when i was on liquid, i guess i'm one of the lucky ones. I've had a lot of questions about the hair loss but i never went through that

I’m 22 with no beard whatsoever, just some dark hair under my chin lol. started minoxidil today, hopefully it’ll help! don’t need a full beard, just want there to be more growth than now :)
Thanks for watching man. I was 24 when I started, and I believe either 26 or 27 whem I stopped. And that's a good mindset to have going into it! I would have been happg even if I only gained half of what I have now as well lol

Yes it still grows like a normal beard 👍. I clean shave with a razor maybe once or twice a year and of course ae you can see it grows back. And I have no idea if your eyebrows would be permanent.

Yeah beard shedding is a good thing when you use minoxidil though. That means it's going to grow back stronger
Everyone one says that isn't permanent or when you stop you cant grow bigger, how can it be is this have tips or tricks? You use oil pill or something after stop?
I believe you have to use long enough until the new beard hairs are mature and permanent. The problem is no one can say how long you have to use it. Some people can use it for a year and keep it forever. I used it for a totla of 27 months for it to be permament. Some people may have to use it for longer.
I never have had hairfall also beard, i just started its been 21 days, i started hairfall/shedding also shedding on chin area the only part of my face having beard, is it natural and stop eventually ?
It is natural for beard hair to shed when using minoxidil. That usually means the hair will grow back stronger. I have never had head hair fall when using minoxidil

Anything that's just 5%. Brand shouldn't matter, but I mainly used Target's Up & Up minoxidil when I used foam

No you don't need to be clean shaved. It definitely helps if you trim sometimes to help get it into the skin as much as possible

Maybe they are shedding and the trimmer pulled some of the weak hairs that were ready to shed so they can come back stronger. I would say about 90% of my beard stayed after i quit

I heard some people say it happens, but also heard it should grow back. It personally never happened to me. And it took me a total of 26 months of use (had a 4 month break after 16 months). So it would probably be a minimum of one year

Hey man, I started using minoxidil 2 weeks ago and I’m seeing little progress not so much though. But it looks like I’m gaining some weight I don’t know if it has anything to do with the minoxidil or I’m just gaining weight. Does minoxidil cause weight gain? I heard water retention may be a thing with minoxidil, but not too sure since I didn't really look into it. And appetite was never an issue for me while using minoxidil

Give it another month or so, mine started shedding a little a couple of weeks after i stopped but it grew back soon after. If it continues for months then you maybe to use it again for a little longer

It will grow back normally just like any other beard

When I don't cut it, it's saved but once I cut it it's really difficult to see it grow back again in the same way
Actually, that happened to me multiple times as well now that I remember. I believe maybe those hairs were ready to shed and maybe shaving completely just pulled the hairs out for you. Sometimes I would shave and patches would be missing when it grew back. After a few weeks everything did eventually grow back though

All i ever used was just minoxidil. When i stopped the final time, my beard shed a little bit as well but it did grow back. Wait a few weeks and see if it stops and grows back

@@SaltpeterKNO3 It’s better now, minus one spot on my chin that I now suspect is Alopecia Barbae. I mistook it for shedding, but normal shedding doesn’t produce a circular shape in such a localized manner. So I’ve been applying peppermint oil to that spot. If it doesn’t improve soon, I’ll go to the clinic and get an official diagnosis. Maybe some medicine to treat what I’m pretty sure is alopecia

I saw a bunch of new velus hairs within 10 days after starting minoxidil. Believe me, it wasn't just a coincidence. I just got fortunate that I was a fast and strong responder to it
@@LanDope minoxidil absolutely will grow hair - but there’s zero research to suggest that hair stays once you stop taking it.
As I said, lots of men won’t be able to grow a full beard until their late twenties - mid thirties.
It's been years since I read about it, but there was some research done suggesting the hair from your beard is different compared to scalp hair and why it stays permanent for the most part on your beard and not head hair. This was years ago on the minox beard spot on Facebook and maybe on UA-cam as well, but I don't really remember the science behind it. But there's tons of us that are living proof that the beards stay.
I do see what you're saying though as I sometimes wonder how my beard would look had I never used minoxidil in the first place

I believe it should still grow. You will most likely lose progress from minox, but there's a chance some new hairs still stay. I'm not an expert, so only real way to know is to try it out and wait over time

@@halamadrid-xv5iuI’m no expert but yes if you’re genetically able to grow a beard then you should be fine. Its not uncommon for men to still be filling in patches into their 30’s.

No, the only side effects I ever experienced where just dry skin and some unwanted hair growth like on my forehead that was barely noticeable for the first few months on liquid. I used kirkland, equate, and up & up from Target
Did you use dermaroller during your journey?? Or dermaroller is mandatory for beard with minoxidil?
It is not mandatory but it can help. I only used it about 5 times since I already had good results with minoxidil alone
