- We now have our first look at some gameplay and a little more story from Star Wars Jedi: Survivor! And it looks FANTASTIC! I loved the first game and can't wait to dive into the sequel! Here are my complete thoughts on the official reveal trailer that was released tonight!

I’m guessing they are saving Greezz and Merrin for the story trailer I hope; it was weird not seeing them
I also noticed this. Greezz is easily in my top 10 favorite star wars characters.
Greezz and Merrin used the escape pod while Cal tried to save the ship maybe. And they get captured because they were just floating in space.
It's not weird they don't want to reveal everything in the game yet

The Lightsaber Customization looks cool. It seems like we could get dual weild sabers, double bladed saber, and crossguard saber.
I’m excited for the lightsaber combat
I hope it’s 3-4 different styles, not 3-4 you can switch between with a button anytime you want. Adds a lot of incentive to gain skill points

Multiple things:
1. I believe that both Greez and Merrins location will be explained in Battle Scars
2. The place where we see Cere reminds me of that temple Jocasta Nu had in the Vader comics. Maybe somewhere similar since we know the one in the comics wasn't found until Luke was around doing his thing
3. something tells me that the part where the guy lifts call up is on Nar Shaddaa or Daiyu
4. The droids are most likely the foot soldiers of the gen'dai as they have the color and the weapons they are seen having.
The Jocasta Nu hideout was definitely what I thought when I saw that scene in the trailer.
Tabbers owes him a favour.
The Wampa that you see is called a Jungle Wampa, it very often showed up in Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Was in my happy place seeing Cal with two sabers. Initial teaser made me think he went back to one again.
Also was ooohing at the crossguard saber.
Looks like Bode will be the one to help Cal out after he loses his lightsaber and give him some blaster tips.

With the force abilities being carried over, it gave me force unleashed vibes. Looks sick
Nah in the force unleashed you could use the dark side and the light and also use telekinesis on everything in this game you can only use telekinesis on the troopers

@Sizzox in jedi academy, directional melee attacks with lightsaber, with force-based speed, countered all dark force powers, no star wars game since has come close.
I love seeing the amount of new enemy units. I hope this game have a ton more like purge troopers or vulture droids.
Vulture droids would be fun to fight when they are walking around on their wings

That is amazing seeing Cal with a Cross-Guard lightsaber! They seem to be getting into Breath of the Wild-esque stuff with gliding as well.
Can't wait to play this game! I have been loving Fallen Order and I am glad to see them doing sequels to the more adventurous games!
It’s nice to have a big name character get to use a light-side cross guard lightsaber, I know they have them in the high republic books but that’s something most fans haven’t read. And this means we’ll probably get merchandise of it which will be so cool
I cannot wait for this. Fallen Order is easily my favorite story-driven Star Wars game, and Cal is up there with my favorite characters from the new era of Star Wars (probably top three with Kanan and Kylo Ren). Gameplay looks solid, story seems fresh and intriguing, and we're only four months away. Can't wait.
I love the idea of our Bacta-tank character being from the High Republic! The cross-guard lightsaber design would fit that too, I think? Either way, I am so hyped for this game.
The humanoid bounty hunter looks like an older mandelorian type just without the rocket pack and wrist launcher like modern mandelorians

That merc is definitely a gendai. I immediately latched onto that in the trailer and harkened back to my swtor playthrough protecting admiral Jafand
I really hope, at some point in the future, the Jedi dev team work on a High Republic game. That era seems perfect for this kind of gameplay with exploration in unknown lands, and a good variety of melee based enemies with the Nihil.
With Merrin, Cere, and the new character Moad (not sure how it's spelled) tagging in to help you. I think it'd be super cool if they did something like Mass Effect. Where you could choose who you brought with you to each planet based on your gameplay preferences AND you'd get unique dialogue with each character. Not sure if that's what they're doing, but that'd give the game a big replayability factor!
The new character's name is "Bode". You can see it clearly in the subtitles.

1:26 I went back to watch again and the big alien says "The Jedi is a threat" and TankMan seems to believe that whatever he has in his hand means Cal isn't a threat. I wonder what that is... Some sort of force artifact? Or a data disc of some sort? It kinda looks like a larger version of the communicators Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan used in The Phantom Menace

I hope we see the Phase II Purge Troopers from the Kenobi series in Survivor. They deserve to be more formidable just like they were in Fallen Order.
I also hope we might see droidekas, Dwarf Spider Droids, Crab droids, LR-57 Combat Droids, and maybe even some Death Troopers on Coruscant

Maybe one other thing connected to the HR is the cross-guarded blade. Before Kylo Ren, several High Republic jedi had a crossguard for their lightsaber, even without laser (Creighton sun, Stellan Gios, Avar Kriss).
The last shot with the commando droids takes place on or near a Lucrehulk, possibly the one we saw on bracca
I have a feeling the white haired dude was the padawan of the grand inquisitor. Betrayed by the one he trusted the most. We also see Cal fighting someone with a orange bladed lightsaber version of his own saber (we know temple guards had yellow/orange sabers). So my bet is on ex padawan of grand inquisitor

the blaster preorders are probably for the second guy Bode. I bet at certain points you can play as him, or swap. so the blasters are for HIS customization.
There is another, very brief combat stance shown in the trailer when it shows him actually wielding the crossguard saber. He looks like he uses a more heavy-handed, slower lightsaber stance when using the crossguard, similar to the Strong stance from the Jedi Knight series, or the Broadsword/Axe melee forms from the Assassin Creed series.

I'm so excited it looks like there are high republic elements. Even if tank guy isn't a high republic Jedi, Cal would learn something about the high republic to get his crossguard saber
I watched the trailer for Jedi: Survivor and I was so glad that there is more abilities to learn and more you could do the "snap saber" as I call it. My eyes popped wide open when I saw Cal holding a crossguard, which is kind of a nod refering back to the Star Wars: Rebels Season 2 finale and the sequel trilogy. I think your right that the person that was in the bacta tank is from the High Republic era. You rarely ever see a Jedi wield a crossguard. You only find them more common in the High Republic era. The crossguard that Cal had could have belonged to the person he found.

Pretty sure that the archive we see in the trailer is part of the “school” that Jocasta Nu was building in the Vader comics before her untimely demise. It looks very very similar, if you’ve never read those comics then I highly recommend u do!

They said they were improving upon the combat and boy does it look like they're delivering! The fact that you can go seemingly from a single blade to dual saber seamlessly is exactly what I was hoping for.Hopefully that translates well as a game mechanic and not just the trailer. And maybe we can combine saber and blaster combat. One of my favourite things in Rebels was how Ezra dualwielded his blaster and saber at the same time so having that in the game would be awesome.
Good to know Cere is definitely going to be back, and she's looking like she's been through some stuff in 5 years. And her new base looked so much like the Jedi library and had a Zeffo Guardian in there so really interested to see that, maybe there'll be an actual location we can go to between missions instead of just being on the ship. That just leaves Greez and Merrin unaccounted for. I REALLY hope they'll be back too, especially Merrin because I also loved her in the first game but we didn't get to spend a lot of time with her.
Still really intrigued by the guy in the bacta tank and wondering what his deal is now that he's out and what's so important about the data disk he's holding. And yeah that big alien looks so much like a Gen'Dai. It's probably a new species but the similarities are striking. I also totally missed the B2 droids in this.
I also love Cal's new look, especially the Outfit. I liked his look in the first game but I'm really glad they're expanding the customization with clothing as well and getting some good variety instead of just the same outfit but in a different colour and endless ponchos. Hopefully we get some iconic saber designs included in the saber customization too. Honestly it's hard to imagine them improving on what the first game did because they got so much right in Fallen Order. So hyped for this
I wonder what enhancements BD-1's going to have.
I'm just going on a hunch here, but since the first game went for a metroid style I have the feeling that this game will go for a Zelda style instead. It just seems like the world is a bit more open, like a hub world and there will probably be "dungeons" sprinkled in.
I can’t stop playing Fallen Order, so I’m really looking forward to playing Survivor.

2023 is going to be a great year for Star Wars. The early looks of the books look great, Jedi Survivor, Bad Batch, Mando season 3, Ahsoka. I think Star Wars is finally finding its grind since the House of Mouse takeover.
To anyone who has read the Darth Bane books: could the guy in the tank be Set Harth? He was a dark jedi who ran with Darth Zannah right before she killed Darth Bane. Eventually, Set just grabbed Bane's holocron and left on his own. That holocron held the keys to essence transfer. The final Bane book implies that he did in fact learn the keys to immortality and general Star Wars lore has him surviving for hundreds of years by cloning himself over and over and transferring his conscious. He had extremely pale skin, blue eyes, and gray hair. He also had expensive taste and loved flashy clothes and weapons. It would be cool if he was brought into the canon timeline!
I’m currently going through the Bane trilogy for probably the 6th or 7th time, and I’m glad that I’m not the only one who thought this guy might be Set. I always thought he had potential to be a major troublemaker for someone in the future after he gleaned the secrets from Andeddu’s holocron.
It would be interesting if they do what Assassins creed does with legacy outfits, like we have a safe house planet where we have a room filled with legacy outfits, and also I hope we can get Cal high Republic era robes
Around 17 seconds into the trailer, we see Cal clash sabers with the bounty hunter. Cal has a blue saber and the hunter has a yellow one. The interesting part though is that the saber design looks like Cal's, but has the two extra pieces that flip out to form the cross guard that we see later in the trailer. The more I look at the small details, the more questions I have and I'm loving this. We might need a full frame breakdown

I feel like no one has discussed the possibility of the Bacta man being a playable character. It looks like we’re getting cutscenes focused on him, which I think heavily implies we’ll play part of the game as him. It also allows for different abilities and a new skill tree
I’m so excited for this game. It’s releasing on my birthday and I can’t be happier. I’ve replayed Fallen Order so many times on PS5 and XSX. I’m sure I’ll do the same with Survivor
I’ll be honest, I really like Bode’s character design. That sort of western gunslinger thing is always awesome, and that jacket is something I want. If he’s a co-op character that would be awesome.

This game looks great. Literally the only thing I was worried about is Merrin. Is she safe? Is she alright?
I personally am honestly a little bias, because as an official ginger it is so fun to play as Cal. It may be selfish, but I am really looking forward to seeing the next part of his story and seeing how it improves upon the first game!

On a retailer's website in my country it says that part of Cal's mission will be to 'reunite the crew of the Stinger Mantis', which explains why Merrin and Greez aren't in the trailer and why it sounded like Cere and Cal hadn't spoken in a while.
I'm SO HYPED I am gonna buy All Editions!
That archive Cere is in almost reminds me of the room in which you find the Disciple in KOTOR 2, underneath the Dantooine Enclave. It didn’t have the holobanks the one in this trailer has, of course, but it still feels familiar.

The trailer give me hopes that Jedi Survivor can be everything Fallen Order was but with some new and cool skills added. And maybe some new areas to explore after the first few playthrough. What worries me is that the family has been scattered and there is no info about playing others than Cal. I was hoping that by playing Cere and Merrin we could open up different areas and new ways to defeat the empire as well as learning new cool skills. But obviously the story is about Cal and his journey and I am fine with that.
Another worry is that Cal seams to crash the Mantis and I loved that ship almost as much as I loved the razorcrest. I hope its some sort of simulator or flashback scene going on but there was a scene where the ship was destroyed in the first trailer so it remains to be seen. I dont know if I can forgive them if they destroy the Mantis but I do hope they give it more meaning than just a training run for Cals flying skills. J.
This is gonna be a month first purchase for me! I trust Respawn that much. I loved Fallen Order. It was one of my first games I played on the first PC I built in 2021. Also, this series is one of the few bits of new Star Wars media that is still entertaining, well written, non-divisive, and fun for old and new fans of the franchise, like me🤩🤩🤩🤩
For me personally and this goes for an eventual open world star wars game. I'd like to be able to use alot of force abilites and if needed/wanted not rely on the lightsaber or blaster. It would give alot of cool ways to traverse when you can't just slash through everything.
Hi. Thanks for the review, I too, was worried I'd have to start with a basic saber and upgrade the damn thing again. I just hope your health is the same as it was at the end of Fallen Order. Nice to see Cal has finally tidied up the wiring and put a pommel on his saber.

I think what would be interesting would be seeing a style of YVH 1 combat droid ( _the combat droid that looks like a Terminator from Legends material_ ) in the new Canon material; not saying that I'd want the Yuuzhan Vong to be a part of the new Disney Canon or anything, but I think that the combat droid which the New Republic had built to combat their species, was instead a product that was both designed and built by Galactic Empire, and seeing the droid in action would be badass.
When I first heard him speak I thought the Bacta character was Marchion Ro and freaked for a bit
