superb teaching. I can easily follow your English since you pronounce each and every word in an understandable manner. I like your voice and patient guidelines Thank You very much.
"Downshifting" is a term used mainly in racing to accelerate and overtake or to take a turn while not losing the ability to quickly accelerate. Not for beginners. For normal driving, you can shift down from 5th to any gear depending on which gear you need. You just have to use brake pedal to slow down and put the lever to the appropriate gear while pressing the clutch. Don't have to put in every gear unnecessarily in a descending order till you get to 2nd or 1st. Just get to the desired gear. "Downshifting" is totally a different technique. BTW, great video for beginners.
You dont need to downshift in order when coming to stop at a signal like u did at 3:18,you can directly go from 5th to neutral after the car came to a stop
To those asking about how to prevent rolling backwards just press clutch and brake simultaneously then start slowly releasing the clutch first till u reach the bite point ( where car wants to move forward ) then once your car isn't rolling backwards then remove the foot of ur brake and press the accelerator or the gas pedal !!!
Rohan More but I thought when we still pressing the brake it still wont move while we slowly releasing the clutch? sorry, I have problem with this everytime I drive.. it just driving me crazy! 😢
Rohan More Well, I am using my driving license's car.. I am still learning using it because its my first time. well I have trouble when it comes to a slope, when someone infront of me.. how can I stop just for a minute to stand my car and move without moving backwards. when that happens the car engine stops and when I restart the car it started to move backwards.
Ms Potato The thing requires practice when someone comes in front just dont depress clutch fully hold till bite point let him go then slowly give gas and surely you wont roll back once you get the hang of it
+Kartikeya Manchanda Search for "Heel and Toe". It is primarily used for rev matching but it can also be used for hill starts. Although the method that I've shown in the video is very easy and quick to learn
i am a beginner i am having maruti alto lxi car please let me know how long will the car moves forward on cluth without pressing gas in hill or downward ?
I find it difficult to drive on the hills because when I try to accelerate the car it stops immediately, you showed that we first have to put the handbrake then change the gear from neutral to first and then release the clutch once car moves we have to release the hand brake so doesn't the car stop in this method?
hello sir, it would have been better if we had got the full view of your car from the front of it . Also give us tips about how to move our car because i often have the problem that the timing of the release of clutch is missing and my car stops. Please give some solutions for it
It's the matter of rpm and speed of the car. He is not even engaging the clutch in between shifting down the gears and just shifting down to all the gears unnecessarily.. So what he did was not "downshifting". "Downshifting " is a term used mainly in racing to accelerate and overtake or to take a turn. BTW, you can go from 5th to 1st or any gear except reverse but you have to slow down and match the appropriate rev for 1st gear. For going to reverse gear, you should bring the car to a stop first, else the gear will be damaged.
Radhakumar Laishram Thanks your comment really helped. I saw couple of drivers doing this and was really surprised. I was wondering why would they do it if not engaging the clutch for every gear !!!
yes you can when you are in an appropriate speed for the 1st gear, like for example, you can't shift from 5th. to 1st when going at 60km/hr,slow the car down and shift
Nice video and in Indian context finally !! ...I have 2 questions below... Please validate if my technique is correct or not 1) On Slope- Once you reach Biting Point, I believe you need to keep your left foot still and Right leg goes from brake to accelerator (half clutch method) . As u give accelerator and car gains momentum/starts to go ahead for 4-5 sec then we need to release clutch further from biting point right. I say this because when I give accelerator and release clutch from Biting point at sametime, My car stalls . what do you think ? Parking brake is fine but Indian drivers are idiots, tailgate like crazy on slope too & start honking if we don't move within 5 sec ? 2) At slow speeds (1st and 2nd gear) or at Speed brakers, When I have to brake I do feather/slip the clutch and apply brake simulatneously, I do this for better control . Is this fine?? coz when I only brake, I do hear grumbling noise and I feel car is moving at speed faster than I intend., also I feel less control. Hence I feather/slip the clutch for better control at speed braker Sorry for long post. Plz clarify. Again, lovely videos, post more.
1) What you can do is, Keep your foot on the brake and start releasing the clutch. At one point you'll feel the car wants to move forward. At that point, simultaneously press the accelerator and keep releasing the clutch. Do practice it and you will get used to it easily 2) Instead of slipping the clutch, what you can do is depress the clutch fully, downshift to the appropriate gear and then get a move on.
1) Ok, But still once I accelerate, I need to keep bite point still/constant for 3-4 sec right. If I release clutch as you said, I'm losing bite point and stalling. Maybe I'm releasing too quick. 2) On Speed braker, I'm normally at 2nd gear , so once I come out of my braking, My car accelerate a bit or makes a little grumbling noise. That's the reason for slipping clutch .Also you know its india so I have clutch covered for unforeseen circumstances.
+Vishal Raj at speed bumps. Go down to a stronger gear. Gear 1. And use the brake and clutch to navigate on the speed bump. Gear 2 is not so strong to climb speed bumps like gear 1
If the slope is steeper, you might have to give a bit more throttle when you get to the bite point.. for a mildly steep slope, new cars will automatically give a little throttle to move the car from stop so that you don't need to give gas at all just to start moving.. when you master launching your car from stop, you won't even need handbrake in slopes.. you just have to be fast enough to get your right foot off the brake and hit the accelerator, at the same time releasing the clutch till the bite point and further..
superb teaching. I can easily follow your English since you pronounce each and every word in an understandable manner. I like your voice and patient guidelines Thank You very much.

True so you can move from 5th to neutral and don't have to do all the downshifting ?
Benjamin10y thanks for the info
Bro, if possible, it would help if a camera shows the leg movement while doing the hill start or other driving maneuvers. Anyways nice video. Thanks

+Kartikeya Manchanda Search for "Heel and Toe". It is primarily used for rev matching but it can also be used for hill starts. Although the method that I've shown in the video is very easy and quick to learn
BRO I would like to see the third part and how to judge back, front, left and right
hi how to shift the gears on speed brakes
i am a beginner i am having maruti alto lxi car please let me know how long will the car moves forward on cluth without pressing gas in hill or downward ?
Ramu K Depends purely on the car since you have an alto there will surely arise a need to press the gas pedal !!! :)

hi, I want to know how to keep our leg on the clutch and releasing the clutch method as I always stop suddenly while starting a car.
Release it very slowly and when reaching the biting point give a little gas... Releasing it very slowly is kinda hard at the beginning though😅
Thanks sir
how long will the car moves forward with cluth without pressing gas ?
Depends on different cars
good
Gud broo🤗😊
please tell me how to install nos
Nice
need the next video
tq bro

helpful....i think i am a perfect driver now
👍
100% exactly
Make a video teaching how to Hot wire a car. Please. Thanks.
Great but show the legs movement and speed
if any problems we are shift gears 5 to directly 1
+Rahul Ks Why would you shift from 5th to 1st?
I mean if there is an order for down the gear like bikes (if we are in 5 geare suddenly we want to stop care )
Rahul Ks. no just be sure to press clutch completely with the brakr
yes you can when you are in an appropriate speed for the 1st gear, like for example, you can't shift from 5th. to 1st when going at 60km/hr,slow the car down and shift
Good!
+FK 2nd Thanks :)
Side escape criticism
What about your next video? :)
it means that i have to shift gear from 5 - 4 - 3-2-1
matt hardy . not necessary always
