Interesting colorway of the Hoka that Mike has. Couldn’t find it in the US website.

Since I bought the Alphafly 3 and Superblast I have no need to buy any more shoes for now (I didn't say I had no desire though...) 🤣

Yes I’m a woman so the overall foot size is different. But I do have one foot that’s a D width and the Cielo is super comfortable. I don’t think it’s snug at all, no issues getting my foot in and once on it just sits in their perfectly.

Would like to try the Cielo X1 but not for $275. If Hoka priced the shoe under $220 I think they would sell a lot more.

Agree, Ceila X1 just delivers a bit more on all fronts compared back to back - it’s very comparable to Adizero Pro 3 or Saucony Endorphin Elite

I have both and love both, but yes completely different to run in. I’ve been out in the Hoka twice, a shorter run and 16 miles and one did rub and my legs felt done in by mile which is unusual for me. I was starting to notice the weight as well, that aside I love it and I love the Pro 4

I run 1 hour every day on treadmill only. Have both of these shoes. Using them equally. Hoka feels way better. My foot move inside Saucony, not much, but it’s annoying.

I'm 55yrs old so a solf shoe on the road is very important for me. Is one better to protect you legs from the road or are they both simular?

I like your reviews in general however i feel this isn't an apples to apples comparison. If your going to make comparisons i think the saucony endorphin elite should be in the same price range as the hoka cielo x1?

As of now I’m just looking for a lightweight carbon plate shoe that isn’t going to kill my feet at mile 20 and have me regretting my decision for running a marathon the next day cause my feet feel like they are broken. It’s between these 2 shoes. I can’t decide

I just got the Endorphin Pro 4. Mainly because in most marathons I start out way too fast for the first half. I usually only run from 7 Minute miles to 9 Minute miles in marathons. I'm just not fast enough for these ultimate speed shoes to take advantage of it. Comfort matters to me from Miles 17 through 20. After mile 20 it really doesn't matter you just run your ass off.

@@TheRunTesters hey Nick! Thanks for the reply! I’ve noticed you loved the cielo x1 and based on the love you have for the AF3, would you consider running your main marathon in the cielo instead of the AF3? Or just use the cielo as a fun fast trainer. I run Boston next month and because I live in Central America, can’t try them in time to compare so I’m researching online based on you guys who can. I have ran in the AF1 all my marathons and love them but struggling to find them in good shape right now (most are unglued after years of storage). Thanks!

Two great shoes going by your review, but these prices are unjustifiable imo - especially for something that has such a small lifespan in running terms anyway.

My opinion after testing - endorphin pro 4 is utter garbage for distance. It’s like running in a 5k shoe. I absolutely love my endorphin pro 3. It’s still my go to shoe for sessions with longer intervals and long tempos. Endorphin pro 4 is a ginormous downgrade. The hoka was fast bouncy and I think a genuine contender to the alphas and the like. For me though the stability is an issue. A lot of the race shoes for me give me issues due to the lack of stability. Hence why I lean towards the endorphin pro 3. Now I also tested the new balance sc elite v4 (I have the v3. Did not like it) and immediately could tell there was a lot of stability. The run shop I go to record your foot strike and show you how each shoe compares. Most race shoes I pronate a lot. Some people can handle that. I see a lot of elite marathon runners that pronate worse than me. But I do get plagued with lower limb issues from those types of shoes so I avoid them. The new balance stability cannot be overstated (for me anyway). So I just got a pair of them. I don’t think they’ll be quite as fast as my alphas or adios pro 3 but on par with how my endorphin pro 3 is speed wise but with what feels like a lot more foam under foot.
    My two cents.

Oof. My endorphin pro 4 is on the way, but I am nervous. Loved the 3, and I am just hoping that it is not as bad as the the downgrade from PXS v1 to PXS v2.

Super shoes have got to the point where there is only minimal differences. The shoe reviewers cannot give a definitive answer any more. You start thinking they’ve made a decision and then they say on the other hand…

    • @eoincasey5461

I guarantee there is nothing new or better on either of these shoes than super shoes a few years old. I just bought the Adios Pro 3 for €150, neither of these shoes have anything that is better than the Adios.

Mad money for both of these that offer absolutely nothing new or better than supershoes from last year or even the year before. We're at a point now where all these new supershoes are just a different design than previous but offer absolutely no more gains than shoes a few years old. In fact some of the new supershoes arent as good as older models.

Can we please stop calling it Speedroll "technology"? It's just geometry, not technology. Speedroll geometry. Everyone has fast, rockered geometry these days. Let's not pretend it's that special.
