    This tutorial is awesome! I just started systematic training for a planche a week ago and was looking for a good exercise between stages 3 and 5. The raised tuck planche is perfect for me now!

    for anybody having trouble with these stances make sure to develop your hollow chest position as you do this, this is not an arm muscle technique this is a core and back strength technique, as long as your arms are locked you should have no trouble moving to the tucked planche position, but if you start with your elbows bent the floor will come very quickly.

    A guy from strenght project said one nice thing. When people ask him how long he said" First you cant come and ask me how long, It means you dont really love what you are doin, you dont really want to learn it because you are thinkimg how long it's gonna take" "You have to fall in love with it and practise it every day" Nice word I would say

    @DrShovelhands Hey man, the hardest part for the advanced variation is moving the hips back and up to flatten the back. Try working on your lower back strength as well as your planche training. The back lever is very good for lower back strength. I am filming a tutorial for the back lever and front lever at the moment so keep checking back for those. Let me know how you get on buddy!

    @trickerjack Cheers mate, it took about a year and a half to get a full planche. This vid is about 6 months old now, I'll be putting some more up soon so be sure to subscribe!

    @sn0tkore Hi there, I would make sure that you do some back lever training as well. The back lever will strengthen your posterior chain, which will allow you to lift your legs up. Don't worry if it takes a while, just keep training and you'll get there!

    @NovazaneBB Hey man, to be honest I train lots of things at the same time, and they all have carry over strength to other movements. For example, the L-sit really helps with the front lever, and the back lever really helps with the planche. I would work on lots of exercises at the same time. It took me a good year or so to achieve a solid planche, so don't be worried if it takes a while! Hope that helps, and let me know how your training goes!

    @3489292 Hey mate, yes 3 times a week is probably sufficient at first. I would definitely do pull-ups and other exercises to complement your training. I currently train 5 times a week, although I will have extra rest days if I feel like I need them.

    @Tales0fLight Hi, i would try and hold the earlier positions for about 15 to 30 seconds. once you get to the straddle variation just holding it for 5 to 10 seconds should be plenty!

    How long does it take to train from the advanced planche to the leg extensions? I've been practicing my tuck planche for only a few days and I'm already at the straight back tuck planche. Also, should my forearms burn after leaving the tuck position or am I doing something wrong?

  • @StrengthSkillsuk
    @StrengthSkillsuk  13 років тому

    @robzombie8497 Hey man, try to transfer more of your weight onto your hands. Keep your feet on the floor for balance and just keep trying to lean forward. Eventually you will build up enough strength to take your feet off the floor completely. Hope your training goes well!

    Hi, Im on the 6th stage (Advanced tuck Planche). When i go from the 5th tuck planche (which I can do in my sleep) to the 6th, I bend my arms. I can hold the 6th for long but with bend arms. Is there a trick to get the arms straight, or do I just have to practice?

    • @hellpony48
      @hellpony48 10 років тому

      Do not bend your arms ever..... If you bend your arms then you are using your biceps which is adding a muscle group that should not be used. If you have to bend your arms to do advanced tuck planche then you are not strong enough to do advanced tuck planche and need to stick with tuck planche. You say you can do tucked in your sleep but I guarantee that you can't hold it for a minute straight. Only when you can hold it for 60 seconds should you move on to the advanced tuck pl. Hope this helps

    • @hellpony48
      @hellpony48 10 років тому

      Sammy I actually agree with you. I noticed that when I could hold it past 30 I was actually pretty good at straddles too. I am not sure if you have seen coach Summers planche guide but it reccomends 60 seconds. I think I said 60 because when I wrote that prior message, I was of the mindset that you want to move on when you have AN EXTREMELY STRONG strength base for the next exercise. You CAN advance at 30... meaning you physically could move on but likely wouldnt be able to hold the next progression for more than a second or two which is totally fine. I actually moved on at like 45 seconds so I cant remember why I wrote this but the longer you can hold it before you move on the better! That is what I was probably trying to get at haha
