This tutorial is awesome! I just started systematic training for a planche a week ago and was looking for a good exercise between stages 3 and 5. The raised tuck planche is perfect for me now!
for anybody having trouble with these stances make sure to develop your hollow chest position as you do this, this is not an arm muscle technique this is a core and back strength technique, as long as your arms are locked you should have no trouble moving to the tucked planche position, but if you start with your elbows bent the floor will come very quickly.
real good step by step demo...along with good music....oh..how i realized late after leavin uk that i missed out on training @ some fine gyms...alas...
A guy from strenght project said one nice thing. When people ask him how long he said" First you cant come and ask me how long, It means you dont really love what you are doin, you dont really want to learn it because you are thinkimg how long it's gonna take" "You have to fall in love with it and practise it every day" Nice word I would say
@DrShovelhands Hey man, the hardest part for the advanced variation is moving the hips back and up to flatten the back. Try working on your lower back strength as well as your planche training. The back lever is very good for lower back strength. I am filming a tutorial for the back lever and front lever at the moment so keep checking back for those. Let me know how you get on buddy!
@trickerjack Cheers mate, it took about a year and a half to get a full planche. This vid is about 6 months old now, I'll be putting some more up soon so be sure to subscribe!
@sn0tkore Hi there, I would make sure that you do some back lever training as well. The back lever will strengthen your posterior chain, which will allow you to lift your legs up. Don't worry if it takes a while, just keep training and you'll get there!
Thank you very much for these tutorials. They are very useful for training, along with the book - CALISTHENIC - purchased. P.S. It would be the best to have a playlist of videos sorted according to the chapters of the book.
@NovazaneBB Hey man, to be honest I train lots of things at the same time, and they all have carry over strength to other movements. For example, the L-sit really helps with the front lever, and the back lever really helps with the planche. I would work on lots of exercises at the same time. It took me a good year or so to achieve a solid planche, so don't be worried if it takes a while! Hope that helps, and let me know how your training goes!
@3489292 Hey mate, yes 3 times a week is probably sufficient at first. I would definitely do pull-ups and other exercises to complement your training. I currently train 5 times a week, although I will have extra rest days if I feel like I need them.
@Football10Lover Hey mate, just keep training, and allow some time for your wrists to recover. You can also try doing some exercises to strengthen your wrists, such as wrist press-ups and handstands.
@Tales0fLight Hi, i would try and hold the earlier positions for about 15 to 30 seconds. once you get to the straddle variation just holding it for 5 to 10 seconds should be plenty!
Thank you for the video its very helpful. Ive started the exercises you are performing. Whats the music? And Thanks again U Rock dude PLANCHE POWER I WANT IT.
Hey buddie, excellent inspiration here my freind! cannot give enough props!. Though can I just ask how many time's a week you trained mate and most importantly for how long were your training session's! Many thank's! One of your fan's!
@MTraceur Hey mate, I would just keep working on it. Also start working on some lower back exercises. These will help you to raise your hips up and back. Hope this helps!
@johnsh3r Hey mate, just start off small and keep training. Hard work and consistency is the key. As long as you train regularly then you will see good progress!
@Pornowatcherishable Hey mate, yes just follow the progressions in the video and you will get there eventually. If you are a complete beginner then you will have to start with simple things like press-ups.
@Mangus25 It took me 2 years to get a full planche, but depending on your level of strength it can take less or more time. Be patient and it will happen for you!
very good vid showing a natural progression but you must have to put some time in to get the required strength in the lower back and stomach to fully achieve the final planche ?
@ktsudios Hey mate, no I don't have a website at the moment, as I wouldn't have the time to update it. I am bringing out an ebook soon though, so keep an eye out for that. Train hard!
by letting your legs out but each of em wided out, gradually youll learn to bring them together a bit until you get o the point you can get both stuck together on a ful planche ! thats how i did it
awesome tutorial bro really helpful. but I've got one problem... When I train for the planche after like 20 mintues my wrist hurts :S and I wondered if there's any way I can train so my wrist won't hurts :) thx, Maxwell Knight.
Awesome video but i will need some advice, i can hold tucked planche for a minute but advanced only for 5 seconds :( What excercise do you recommend for getting a longer hold'?
How long does it take to train from the advanced planche to the leg extensions? I've been practicing my tuck planche for only a few days and I'm already at the straight back tuck planche. Also, should my forearms burn after leaving the tuck position or am I doing something wrong?
@robzombie8497 Hey man, try to transfer more of your weight onto your hands. Keep your feet on the floor for balance and just keep trying to lean forward. Eventually you will build up enough strength to take your feet off the floor completely. Hope your training goes well!
when should i move from one to another i can do the 5th but after 5 sec hold i get supreme pain when i release the hold...should i be gone after a while.?
i once trained for planche.I got to a 15 sec tuck planche but than i stoped.i'm pretty strong but i am lazy, too lazy to achieve something...do u know something that keeps me motivated?and yes...can you tell me the song name:D it kicks ass
I tried this yesterday and damn it looks easy but it isn't. I do weightlifting for 8 months now and i barely can do the frog. Also my wrists heart a bit, i should loose more weight, i am 7-10kg above normal...
@StrengthSkillsuk I'm just wondering should i do weight based exercises or more body weight stuff to learn to do this because i feel as if im going to lose strength i have gotten from lifting weights like bench press if i attempt more body weight stuff would that happen?
Hi, Im on the 6th stage (Advanced tuck Planche). When i go from the 5th tuck planche (which I can do in my sleep) to the 6th, I bend my arms. I can hold the 6th for long but with bend arms. Is there a trick to get the arms straight, or do I just have to practice?
Do not bend your arms ever..... If you bend your arms then you are using your biceps which is adding a muscle group that should not be used. If you have to bend your arms to do advanced tuck planche then you are not strong enough to do advanced tuck planche and need to stick with tuck planche. You say you can do tucked in your sleep but I guarantee that you can't hold it for a minute straight. Only when you can hold it for 60 seconds should you move on to the advanced tuck pl. Hope this helps
Sammy I actually agree with you. I noticed that when I could hold it past 30 I was actually pretty good at straddles too. I am not sure if you have seen coach Summers planche guide but it reccomends 60 seconds. I think I said 60 because when I wrote that prior message, I was of the mindset that you want to move on when you have AN EXTREMELY STRONG strength base for the next exercise. You CAN advance at 30... meaning you physically could move on but likely wouldnt be able to hold the next progression for more than a second or two which is totally fine. I actually moved on at like 45 seconds so I cant remember why I wrote this but the longer you can hold it before you move on the better! That is what I was probably trying to get at haha
best planch tutorial.

i watch this everyday just for inspiration! Sick video, already on the tuck planche after a couple of days! Thanks dude!

I just started my training. I'm so excited.
The Last Was à straddle planche BUT it Was à great tutorial and i say it 5 years after !!
Nice tuto, I think the kick back and forth part is the exercice I was missing !

The best tutorials about bodyweight exercises. When we can watch tutorial about front lever?) Thank you very much for video

nice one for this. The planche is a long time stumbling block of mine.
nice bro, been wanting to learn how to planche looks like i got myself some good training tips.
Thanks.
Very impressive tutorial, amazing strength. What is the awesome tune accompanying it?
Best progression vid I have seen!
@UnrulyStrength Thanks mate! Glad you liked the vid!
great tutorial, thanks! :D

@Da808punk Hey mate, it took about 2 years to get to the stage I am at now. It does get frustrating sometimes but keep training!
practice with the dumbbells like he is doing in the video. Practicing on the dumbbells reduces the pain in the wrists by a lot.
@nikosf3n Being heavy is OK mate. If you are heavier you will just develop more strength in the long run! Train hard!
@Football10Lover Hey mate, just keep training, and allow some time for your wrists to recover. You can also try doing some exercises to strengthen your wrists, such as wrist press-ups and handstands.
@mois2202 Thats a good tip there mate. Especially when graduating to the planche on rings, as the hollow body position becomes really important.
@Tales0fLight Hi, i would try and hold the earlier positions for about 15 to 30 seconds. once you get to the straddle variation just holding it for 5 to 10 seconds should be plenty!

Great straddle planche!what's the name of the music?
very good vid showing a natural progression but you must have to put some time in to get the required strength in the lower back and stomach to fully achieve the final planche ?
hey i loved the video how long did it take you to learn this an do you know good workout for beginners who want to learn this
i think the best way to gain strengh to planche , is doing the elephant stand in front of wall and go up with your legs, then go back down and repeat
Agreed. If he really wanted to master planche, weight/height/etc doesn't even matter. It's the training done.
@ktsudios Hey mate, no I don't have a website at the moment, as I wouldn't have the time to update it. I am bringing out an ebook soon though, so keep an eye out for that. Train hard!
to object is the easiest of all jobs but the man is teaching the toughest stuff first and the easiest later. but his techniques are chool!
Finally found a decent tutorial, thanks :D gonna start that shit tonight. How long did it take you?
nice video
thanks for the tips and tricks
Good Tutorials
It's comfortable to train on push up bars

Awesome video but i will need some advice, i can hold tucked planche for a minute but advanced only for 5 seconds :(
What excercise do you recommend for getting a longer hold'?
any tips how to avoid high presure over wrist area?
Hi there, Great video, I'm currently working towards stage 6. Do you have any advice/ specific exercises to do to get there?
Thanks.

really helpfull tutorial, thanks
Should I have straight arms when doing the frog stand or bent?
hey thanks man for the tips but how long do i hold each exercise for?
7TH is the best way to lern a full planche
How long would it take a 5'11", 160lbs, and "reasonably fit" guy to master the planche,
@StrengthSkillsuk I'm just wondering should i do weight based exercises or more body weight stuff to learn to do this because i feel as if im going to lose strength i have gotten from lifting weights like bench press if i attempt more body weight stuff would that happen?
brilliant!!
How long should you hold each exercise before progressing to the next one? (roughly 20-30 secs?)
Hey dude!I am stuck on tuck planche, how can i train to go at advanced tuck plache?please, reply
How much you need the time to do tuck planche
awesome , now the hard part would be putting it into practice
i can do plance for a full 2seconds but how to improve that? Any tips you can give me?
Hey, where are you ? Please help me ! I am Vietnamese .
how many mounth need to learn the planche if i do this exercise for 3 time a week ??? can i do this exercise for 5 time a week??

For sure boss! Two different schools of thought no doubt
+Michael Saunders u also need to learn a handstand before doin the planche Cuz it makes it alot easier
you have to find motivation for your self, it's subjective
Muito bom!
what is a music playing?
SOONGG?
how long should it take?
My arms is very weak . I want to do the planche too much but I can't . I'm very sad . Help me !
Music?
nice vid
I can't do 6th :/

guys what are the main body muscles that are used in this exersise?
It's a complete and total body exercise, but it mainly hits the wrists, shoulders, chest and core.
advanced tuck planche is where i lose it lol
ay sta
I don't want to be too much of a hater but that looks suspiciously like a straddle planche at the end, and not a planche...
Send me a message.
