Detailed review of the 4.1 liter version of the Ortlieb Saddle Bag Two. See an online version at: round-n-round.com/gear/review... Music by "Duke of Grafton"
Thanks for this incredibly detailed real-world review! I've been giving this bag some consideration, and this answered every question I could possibly have (and those I didn't even think of). Looks like I'll be grabbing this from my local shop soon.
I've got to agree with the other commenters.... what a great real-world no-fuss review! You covered everything I would have wondered about, and did it in a super-pleasant way. Subscribed.
Comprehensive review. Thank you for the time and effort, it has helped confirm that this is the right bag for me. Especially knowing I can get multiple attachments for my other bikes aswell.
Excellent review Dave, thank you. When I want to open the bag, I go stand behind it, and keep the rear wheel between my knees to stabilize the bike. Really happy with the saddle bag. After finding your review, I bought it.
Great review. I ordered this bag and the Ortlieb Accessory Pack for the extra 3 liter storage today. This should be good as I don't travel with the bike 👍
Thanks for the review, I decided to buy one to hold some minimal tools, spare tube, mini-pump, and the size should also fit the compact bag that I can pull out and over the bicycle for long distance plane, train, and bus travel. Most importantly, this gets all this stuff out of my pannier bag, allowing more space and less clutter.
...I had all the same thoughts (critiques) that you mention, there are a few shortcomings e.g. but I don't have the Clint Eastwood-on-a-good-day type voice to deliver the info as well as you did... Also great visuals... Thank you for this! P.S. Listen up @Orlieb, longer straps, and compartments would make this a far greater bag than it already is!
Mike, It's a Specialized Sonoma 155mm. It's an older model that I found used at a local shop, but it fits my sit bones very well and has just the right amount of padding for my riding style.
I just re-watched my own review and realized there are two different saddles in the photo. In most of them, it's a Forte Contour XFC Gel saddle (from performance bike). After riding with it for a while, I swapped it out for the Specialized Sonoma 155mm, which is more comfortable for me, largely becuase it's a bid wider and flatter.

Very thorough review. Just what I was looking for. Thanks 👍🏻
Excellent review, succinctly covers every relevant detail one could think of, with no silly extra chit-chat like in some videos.
Thanks for the thorough review! Just picked one up for my first foray into gravel riding on the Iron Horse Trail. Cheers!

Just stumbled upon your review and it was well worth the descent into the bowels of utoob to find it! Thanks!
